Cute little restaurant, across the street from Joe's. Came here because we heard they had Bo Ne, which we usually have to go down to San Jose to eat. This is definitely a newer generation, trendier place than the usual Viet restaurant. It was reasonably busy when we came on a Wednesday, but still plenty of open tables. - sweeter, tomato based sauce - more focus on a variety of meats, including a meatball, a sweet pineapple sausage, and some small slices of ham - steak is not precut into slices so it was a little hard to eat with chopsticks - egg was already fully cooked when the plate was brought out sizzling, so I couldn't dip my bread in the yolk - no onions (the regular breakfast plate had some with the beef, but the filet mignon version did not)

Stopped by for first time. Mgr Minh stopped by to see how I liked the food. He stated they have been open nine months. bún bà huế was delicious. Not too spicy but plenty of meat, noodles and vegetables. Restaurant is spacious, clean and all the servers were very polite. I had a sugar cane drink which was also good. I ordered bbq chicken and pork belly Bahn mi to go. Definitely will be back.

I was excited when this place opened cuz I wanted to try the banh mi sandwiches. Finally made it and ordered the lemon grass beef banh mi and and order of chicken wings. Customer service was ok. The wings were pretty good, but I've had better. I love lemon grass dishes so was excited when the sandwich came and I began to eat. It walls decent but then I started to get a funky taste coming through when I got a bite with the cucumber. Upon inspection it appeared the cucumber was on its way out. I removed it and the rest of the sandwich but im hesitant to go back incase other things may be old.

Saw this place after getting nails done and looked real clean from outside. Went in and was greeted sat down and the place looked as clean as it did from outside. Food was great. Everything was filling. The pho had so much meat and noodles in there it never ended. Couldn't even finish it cuz it was so much food. The spicy beef was a delight. I made sure to destroy that. We ate around 11 ish and I'm writing this review at 1620 and I'm still full. Definitely going back to try the other stuff

Came here for dinner one night over the weekend. The restaurant had plenty of seating and there was no wait for table or food. There was lively Vietnamese music playing in the backgrounds. The restaurant had a wide variety of pho, bahn mi, rice plates, sizzling plates, Vietnamese coffee, and matcha drinks on its menu. We tried the pho - the soup was really good, and the bahn mi bo kho - the soup was also really good as well and went well with the baguette. I want to try the bo ne and Vietnamese coffee here in the future.

Finally a pho restaurant close to my house that has pretty good banh mi! Instant fan of their sandwiches with a hint of maggi sauce on top and that's how I like it! Will definitely come back for other dishes!

Food is improved quite a bit. Fried chicken still isn't great but the BBH is a lot better. Just missing lemongrass and pork foot. I'm now looking forward to their beef stew.

Easy parking and clean restaurant. Service was fast. First time here with my husband. We ordered the shrimp and pork rolls. The rolls had pork belly inside, which was a nice surprise. It was fresh and delicious with the peanut dipping sauce... yum. My husband ordered the BO NE or Vietnamese Breakfast skillet. He enjoyed all the meats. However, the sauce was a little too sweet. It came with a fresh baguette and side salad. A complete meal. I ordered their grilled pork with egg roll and shrimp. The portion was huge. The nuoc mum was very good and everything satisfied my cravings. I recommend this restaurant. They serve authentic Vietnamese food.

Came here unplanned just was craving pho! Very clean environment. The service was great, quick and attentive. I ordered the brisket pho and shrimp tempura. Everything came out in good time and it was a very filling meal. I will definitely be back if i am back in the area

More like 3.5 stars but going down to 3 because I found the broth of the short rib pho to be almost inedible. I ordered the short rib pho and was looking forward to it because it was advertised as an "18 hour" broth. However it tasted nothing like that...all I tasted was msg and some faint spices. Very disappointed! Even after adding the juice from 3 lemons I could not drink any of the soup. Definitely sticking to pho seven or R&D cafe. Also the short rib was meaty but most of the meat was overcooked and chewy. My husband got the vermicelli bowl and said it was ok.

As soon as I entered I noticed the really pretty decor in front and all around the place and was in awe of the florals/murals!! The broth of both pho's were really good as well I wish I was hungrier to finish it because the portions were great. The brisket was amazing to me (5/5) and my partner noted that the short rib was good flavor but slightly tough to chew, overall he gives that a 4.5/5! Overall super recommend this place as everyone there was super sweet and welcoming!

Then, as much as we loved the banh mi, the banner and the sidewalk sign advertising them as a new lunch option last year seemed almost like they were really, really trying to pull in more people any way they could. Every time I walked past this place, it was either empty or there were one to two tables with guests at a time. So when the word finally broke a few days ago that the owners have sold the place and are closing, I felt really sad, but wasn't surprised. It's definitely the end of an era, and is one of those longtime San Leandro restaurants in this strip of E 14th that has a comforting, early 2000s vibe -- and is now gone, like so many before them. It's frustrating, especially because the likelihood of them possibly getting replaced by a chain or yet another taqueria or Chinese place is high (though they apparently don't know what will be moving in after them). Dropped by yesterday with my husband for a final lunch. He got the bun bo hue and I got the yellow curry stir fry and fried rice. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious, and the restaurant was nearly entirely full with people having their own last meals and saying their goodbyes to the owners. While the owner was incredibly nice, service was terrible. She was overworked, working the counter, packing up to-go orders, taking table orders, bringing out food, AND bussing tables alone. The party next to us was a little frustrated that she still hadn't come by to take their order and went to the counter to flag her down. I don't know how much longer Le Soleil would've remained viable if service has been like this for months. It's a sad situation, but I wish nothing but the best for the owners, especially if they decide to open another restaurant in the future.

Our food had just arrived, when a couple with two large dogs came into the restaurant. The dogs were NOT service dogs. The waiter proceeded to seat the couple with their dogs behind my husband and I. I was appalled!! The waiter never asked if we were OK if the couple sat near us. I want to point out that my husband and I are dog lovers and have had dogs for 20 years. I understand what it feels like to love them like family, but at the end of the day they are dogs. The law clearly states: "Under California Health and Safety Code § 114259.5, live animals are strictly prohibited inside the indoor dining or food preparation areas of a restaurant. The only legal exceptions are for official law enforcement dogs and individually trained service dogs. Emotional support animals (ESAs) or companion pets do not qualify under California law or the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and are not allowed indoors." So unless you are comfortable with dog hair possibly flying into your food, because you never know when a dog is going to shake, I would advise you NOT to eat here.

For example, the Cha Ca La Vong (a Hanoi specialty) was boneless pieces of lightly fried turmeric-coated white fish, served on a hot plate with onions, dill, peanuts, and fried shallots, along with a plate of lettuce leaves, herbs, cucumbers, pickled carrots/daikon, rice noodles, a crunchy rice cracker, and fish sauce, all for making individual lettuce wraps with the pieces of fish. Though I loved the presentation of this dish, the fish was surprisingly bland and flavorless. From central Vietnam, the Mi Quang was a noodle soup made with thick rice noodles in a savory broth, along with chicken drumstick, shrimp, quail eggs, a rice cracker, and greens/herbs/bean sprouts on the side. While this was a tasty dish, it was missing a core defining element: yellow turmeric rice noodles. Hailing from southern Vietnam, a highlight dish for me was the Xoi Ga Da Don, featuring a mound of green (pandan) sticky rice, surrounded by a plethora of savory toppings including fried chicken skin and shredded meat, pickled carrots/daikon, fried shallots, and Chinese sausage--a delicious combination of crunchy textures and umami goodness to pair with the chewy green rice! Finally, the Bun Tom Thit Nuong Va Cha Gio was a classic southern Vietnamese vermicelli bowl with rice noodles, greens, herbs, cucumbers, bean sprouts, picked carrots/daikon, peanuts, grilled pork, grilled shrimp, and an egg roll, served with nuoc cham (sweet fish sauce). This simple dish was executed nicely, and the meaty, seafoody, earthy flavors all came together with the rice noodles and fresh vegetables. As tasty as all the dishes were, there was one more surprise waiting at the end: a complimentary self-serve dessert bar. Granted, the selection wasn't huge, but they had a soft serve machine (which turned out thick, sweet ice cream), fruit cocktail, and freshly made pandan waffles. Not a bad way to finish off our meal!

We were greeted and seated right away. Our order was taken in a timely manner. We ordered the Oxtail pho, banh mi xiu mai, bot chien, and an avocado smoothie. Our food came out pretty quick minus the bot chien which the server said usually takes awhile. Oxtail pho was as good as we remember. Oxtail was fall off the bone, actually, all the meats in the pho were very tender, which we love. Banh mi xiu mai was all right. I felt like something was missing, but I can't figure out what it is.
