New Vietnamese (formerly Kasper Hot Dogs) spot in the Winton Plaza next to Harbor Freight
    Cheryl M.

You'll never be short on options for Mexican Chinese or Vietnamese food in Hayward...the key is finding a good one! Pho & Grill is the newest addition serving appetizers (spring and fried rolls), pho, grilled items, rice vermicelli and specialty items like shaken beef...the usual Review is for spring rolls and egg rolls only! I was in the area and wanted something light and quick so ordered the fresh Vietnamese spring rolls made with lettuce, cilantro, cucumbers and rice noodles wrapped in rice paper. :: Nem Nướng Cuon - Grilled pork spring roll - nicely marinated sliced pork with some caramelization from the sugars in the marinade - delicious :: Thịt Bò Nướng Cuốn Bánh Tráng - thinly sliced grilled beef with hints of sugar, sesame oil, oyster sauce :: Chả Giò - fried eggrolls - ground pork with carrots, wood ear mushrooms, glass noodles, and served with bottled sweet chili sauce. Served with small pieces of lettuce and pickled carrots and daikon :: Thai Iced Tea - a bit sweet but good after letting the ice melt a bit. Fresh, flavorful rolls but prefer nước mắm (fish sauce, lime, sugar, garlic and chili) vs the hoisin peanut sauce or bottled sweet chili sauce that accompany the rolls Basic service of order, pay, wait. Place clean as new. Plenty of lot parking in the Winton Plaza next to Harbor Freight on the corner of Hesperian Blvd and Winton Ave. Will return to try other items and dine in.

    Bun hue and meatball pho

Pho is all about that broth... beefy, aromatics depth in flavor and how well it slurps along with noodles. This broth hit all the notes! :) Bun Bo Hue - wow, the broth is different from regular beef pho. It has layers of flavors in the broth that include lemon grass and fish sauce. It's stinky makes it extra special! :) Beef Pho - everything I mentioned in my opening paragraph is all true, I would come back again and again to slurp up this broth :) Egg rolls - One of my favorite things to eat and this one did not disappoint. Crispy hot goodness! New pho restaurant in Hayward! And its tasty! NOTES: Plenty of parking in this tiny strip mall. Awkward entrance though. No U-Turn on Winton Street, so prepare to go around the entire block to get to this location.

    Signage above entrance.

Pho & Grill opened recently in the vacate Caspar's space. From afar, a large W on a protruding building structure indicates Pho is directly beneath it. Entered during a busy Sunday. All seats taken. Waited until 1 of the 13 tables within became free. The associates were literally running across the floor to service patrons. Once seated. I ordered. Food came 12ish minutes later. Coffee followed soon after. Offerings (usual Vietnamese eats): appetizers, pho, vermicelli, drinks, rice plates, rice noodles, egg noodles, vegetarian, fry dish, garlic noodles, fried rice, stir fried noodles, crispy noodles... Sips: hot Vietnamese coffee (5.50) -hot, slightly sweet from condensed milk. Came in paper cup, not in drip coffee dispenser. Pretty good. Slurps: Bun Bo Hue (Spicy noodle soup) L.14.95 -big bowl. Strong bone broth, not too hot. Took awhile to cook toppings: cilantro, jalepenos, red onions, bean sprouts, cabbage, basil. Lime squeeze to flavor. Broth enhanced by proteins, veggies, onions, condiments. Proteins: tendons, meatballs, slice beef biscuit, pork blood, pork loaf, partial pig feet. 4.5 stars. Worthy! Quality: fresh ingredients utilized. Quantity: pricing better than suburbs. *.50 cent charge on credit card usuage.

Pho & Grill just opened up beginning of this month in Hayward. My family were craving for Bun Bo Hue, so we wanted to give this place a try! Their service was pretty quick and the food presentation was nicely plated. For people who enjoys their bun Bo hue for its authentic spicy flavor, this place is for you! They already pre-added the chili spice for you, so the broth is spicy! The beef rib pho, was missing flavor, so adding a little bit of extra fish sauce will help bring the flavor out. Their Vietnamese coffee with condense milk was a perfect amount of sweetness and a lot of coffee flavor! Not overpowering! I definitely would come back to this location and try their other selections! Their restaurant is quite spacious and clean :)

Wow! Finally a quality vietnamese restaurant in the East bay. Very affordable and great portion size. The bun bo hue is spicy, has a lot of meat, and the noodles were perfectly al dente. Their sate makes it even spicier which I NEED. Lotta places dont make bbh spicy at all but this spot w the sate is The pho was okay for me. fatty broth but lacking some flavor. However meats were really tender. Would definitely come back for BBH!

It's been a long time coming for a restaurant to open up inside this plaza. We're usually only here for Harbor Freight (right next door) but now we have another reason to stop by. We decided to swing by for a late lunch on a Saturday around 2:30pm and it was surprisingly not that busy. The inside was very spacious and clean. We ordered spring rolls and they were delicious. Crispy on the outside and very flavorful on the inside. We also ordered P1 & P2 (meat instead of short ribs and rare steak) and the broth tasted a bit watered down. The meats were tender and savory. My husband ordered the C2 combo and they forgot to give us the two fried chicken. The fried shrimp cake was the best from the entire dish. The three color dessert was tasty, but they added too much ice. Overall, it's a great restaurant, but I think they need to work out some kinks. I like that it's close by, so we can always stop by whenever we are craving Vietnamese food!

    Papaya salad with shrimp

First time visiting this place and tried the P4 pho (large bowl) and the papaya salad with shrimp. Excellent flavors on both dishes! Prices more than reasonable for high quality pho. The service was quick and pho was hot. I also liked the interior of the restaurant as it was very casual and easy to sit and enjoy a meal.

The bun bo hue here is easily the best in the area. The broth is rich and flavorful, and it always hits the spot. It's hard to find a place nearby that does it this well. The only downside is that the portions are a bit on the smaller side. But the quality and flavor definitely make up for it!

Just found my new favorite pho spot! I think they're new? And they need all the exposure so they don't close down lol it's really good and the staff is very friendly, fast service too! The pho is one of the best ones Ive had in the area, the wings were juicy and good flavor. Definitely coming back!

I gotta tell you, I had high hopes for this spot when I heard they were building it here, and man they did not disappoint. Service is excellent, the staff is super attentive and friendly. Everything is super clean as the restaurant is brand-new. I have been here at least 10 times since the grand opening and the consistency is insane, pho has been spot-on the exact same every single time. The flavor is what has kept me coming back, it's top-tier when it comes to their broth. Meat is always tender and not over-cooked or chewy. Prices are extremely fair, with local competition raising prices steadily ever since Covid, this spot has been a breath of fresh air. Price wise just regarding bowls of pho, beats out the other local spots by at least 15%. Super happy to have this addition to the neighborhood!!

    HM10. Seafood Combo Egg Noodle
    Ruk G.

I must have ordered the wrong items to give it a "wow". Have to give stars for great service of taking orders, but little confused when the bill time. The food came promptly. Mom likes her food, seafood noodles combo with egg noodles, since the broth was not salty. My beef rice plate has no flavors. The beef slices were the one from pho but there was really any tastes on the meat. It isn't a lot of fat on the meat which makes it a plus. The restaurant used Persian or English cucumber which I appreciated. The fresh spring rolls and the sauce was nice texture. The lemonade is okay toward sweet side than sour. It could be quiet or it could be loud depending on crowds. The entrance is on the first corner side when you enter the lot. Will I try again? I might have to try the pho with short rib as others hyped about. Give it a tryyyyyyyy and yes I am thankful as it is only seven mins from my home. Thank you for being in community

    Flavorful Bun Bo Hue
    Ngoc D.

Newly opened restaurant, cleanliness 10/10. -Bun Bo Hue serves in medium spicy broth, very flavorful and authentic taste. -Both the combo rice plate and vermicelli bowl are delicious. Well-marinated grilled pork, fresh garnishes, fried shrimp cake has crispy skin and moist shrimp paste inside. Highly recommend and I definitely will be back to try other dishes!!

    BBH & Pho

So glad to see a newly opened Vietnamese restaurant in Hayward. We definitely need more good Vietnamese options in the area. The pricing is fair. The restaurant has a nice, modern setting with bright lighting, making it feel clean and welcoming. It's a comfortable place to dine in. We ordered the Bún Bò Huế (BBH) and a pho bowl, and both were excellent. The BBH tasted very authentic. The pho beef broth was legit, rich and flavorful without being overpowering or overwhelmed by herb aroma. The tendon was excellent, perfectly tender, not too hard and not too soft. Overall, everything hit the spot. This will definitely become my go-to place whenever I'm craving Vietnamese food. Highly recommend checking it out!

Regarding the viet coffee, this one was particularly strong, with a definite higher proportion of coffee to condensed milk that doesn't offend but also risks being a bit TOO strong (wild to say that when all viet coffee at its core is strong). Overall, it's conveniently located, but I think I might prefer to go further south for something with a more balanced taste profile.

Then the lady who greeted us - she joyfully came out with a bowl of chicken pho and noodles for our baby and said "I take your order but baby can eat first!" - she was so thoughtful and sweet and the bowl was perfect! Bits of chicken and noodles and clear broth... my baby loved it! She took our orders and the food came! I was told they had already thrown the bag away because they waited for a while and were preparing to close. I returned to the restaurant around 8:45 PM to ask about it in person. A little understanding or better customer service would have gone a long way. We used to enjoy coming here, but this experience left a bad impression.

I called to place order. Got a recording. Got a return call confirming my order. Found it's better to text with C6 or F7 unless one can speak Vietnamese. Main associate lacks English proficiency. Much easier for her to get "code" Place was an easy find. Street parking slightly difficult. Unknown if parking in their lot is permissible. Went towards middle building. Found unit with "Taste of Asia" brochure on window. Bingo! Stood in front of open door until Vietnamese lady came out with my order. $21 cash. Unknown if Zelle has tax added to it. Tipped a little. Lady hesitated to give change. Offerings (Vietnamese): street food, drinks, coffee. Sips: Cafe Muoi Bien (sea salt foam Vietnamese coffee, 7)-Viet coffee, sea salt foam, condensed milk. -coffee didn't look full. No doubt foam on top shrank/mixed into coffee. -bold coffee with alternating sweet & salty tastes depending on sipping foam or condensed milk. Bites: Banh Trang Cuon (Vietnamese Special roll, 14). There's also a salad version with same ingredients & no wrapping. -dipping sauce had sweet & savory notes. -rice roll had dominant theme of beef jerky. The surrounding nuanced taste was a symphonic medley of carrots, quarter sectioned boiled eggs, coriander, green mango, dried shrimp, fried onions, peanuts & green mangos, 5 stars Worthy! Quality: freshly premade. Quantiy: ample enough for a meal. Would repeat. *Taste of Asia "passport" given to win prizes from buying from food vendors in Oakland Chinatown & San Leandro Asian businesses. Couldn't ask for a better drink, it had the right amount of sweetness and creaminess you'd expect in Viet coffee. edit: my mistake! only zelle and cash :)
