I've been to Pho & Grill four times now because I wanted to try a few different dishes before giving my opinion. I have to say this has become one of my new favorite Vietnamese spots. I've tried their pho with beef ribs, bun bo hue, and bun rieu and all of them have been good. The pho with beef ribs was solid and the meat was really tender. The broth is decent and hits the spot. For bun bo hue, I still prefer Pho Seven down the street since their broth has more depth and you can really taste the lemongrass and umami. That said, Pho & Grill still does a good version. My favorite dish here is definitely the bun rieu. It's actually my favorite Vietnamese dish in general and I've had it all over the Bay Area. I would say this is my second favorite in the East Bay. My top spot is Da Nang and this is tied with Pho Auntie 7 before they unfortunately closed after a fire. What I really like about their bun rieu is the variety. It comes with ground pork meatballs, crab egg custard, fish cake, pork meatloaf, fried tofu, tomato, and pork blood. I usually order mine without the pork blood. The broth could use a little more umami and I do wish they served shrimp paste on the side, but overall it's still very satisfying. Another plus is that their prices are reasonable, especially for the quality and portions. I'll definitely keep coming back. read more

I saw a TikTok review of this restaurant and decided to check it out. I've been making an effort to try new places and support local businesses. It's tucked into a small plaza and while the exterior looks pretty unassuming, the interior is surprisingly modern with thoughtful touches I really appreciated. There's a parking lot, though it can fill up since other businesses share the space. Service was solid. We were seated right away, our order was taken promptly, and the food arrived quickly. After that, we were mostly left to enjoy our meal. I ordered the pho with steak & tripe and someone in my group ordered the special combo hu tieu. The portions and overall quality matched the price point well. They offer different bowl sizes and the proteins were prepared nicely. The seafood stood out -- very tender, which is rare. We also ordered the fried egg rolls, which were decent, though I prefer fish sauce as the dipping sauce. Here, they serve a chili sweet‑and‑sour sauce instead. I wasn't feeling my best, so I couldn't fully appreciate the flavors, but based on this first visit, I'd be open to coming back and giving it another try. read more

Ordered the Chicken Hu Tieu and on first sip it was slightly sweeter than I like, however after I added the aromatics (basil, pepper) veggies (bean sprouts, jalapeño, lime squeeze) it tasted much more balanced and I enjoyed it quite a bit. Chicken was tender and they give a good portion. Noodles came out a little al dente but softened up after a few minutes. Only strange thing is their chicken pho is in beef broth -- so I guess they don't make true Pho Ga here. Overall, great prices, inside was clean and service was quick. I'd def come back! read more

This broth hit all the notes! :) Bun Bo Hue - wow, the broth is different from regular beef pho. It has layers of flavors in the broth that include lemon grass and fish sauce. Coffee followed soon after. Offerings (usual Vietnamese eats): appetizers, pho, vermicelli, drinks, rice plates, rice noodles, egg noodles, vegetarian, fry dish, garlic noodles, fried rice, stir fried noodles, crispy noodles... Their service was pretty quick and the food presentation was nicely plated. For people who enjoys their bun Bo hue for its authentic spicy flavor, this place is for you! They already pre-added the chili spice for you, so the broth is spicy! The beef rib pho, was missing flavor, so adding a little bit of extra fish sauce will help bring the flavor out. Wow! Finally a quality vietnamese restaurant in the East bay. Very affordable and great portion size. The bun bo hue is spicy, has a lot of meat, and the noodles were perfectly al dente. Their sate makes it even spicier which I NEED. Lotta places dont make bbh spicy at all but this spot w the sate is The pho was okay for me. fatty broth but lacking some flavor. It's been a long time coming for a restaurant to open up inside this plaza. We're usually only here for Harbor Freight (right next door) but now we have another reason to stop by. We decided to swing by for a late lunch on a Saturday around 2:30pm and it was surprisingly not that busy. The inside was very spacious and clean. We ordered spring rolls and they were delicious. Crispy on the outside and very flavorful on the inside. We also ordered P1 & P2 (meat instead of short ribs and rare steak) and the broth tasted a bit watered down. The meats were tender and savory. My husband ordered the C2 combo and they forgot to give us the two fried chicken. The fried shrimp cake was the best from the entire dish. The three color dessert was tasty, but they added too much ice. Overall, it's a great restaurant, but I think they need to work out some kinks. The broth is good, not too flavorful as I prefer but for the Hayward area, it suffices. My beef ball and rare steak bowl had lots of meat! Good amount of noodles. Love the chili satay sauce that's available on the table - it had a good amount of spicy kick to it. My husband got the regular size instead of large, couldn't tell the different of the bowl size but think it just came with less noodles. Our first time visit. They said their machine was down and could only take cash. That's fine since I have cash with me. After the meal, I paid with $100 and was told it's $65 something. I did not think much since we ordered two regular pho bowls (each $12.95), one papaya salad and a pork roll plate. There was no receipt given to me and I unfortunately forgot to ask for it. I put a few dollars into the tip cup. Until I went home, someone told me the total cost seems a lot. Among these my favorite was the bun bo hue and vermicelli. The was a good variety of meats - shank, pork meat balls, tendon, pig blood etc. It was on the spicy side (compared to other pho spots nearby) so just fyi. Probably one of the better bbhs I've tried in the area. The pork in the vermicelli was thin and nicely grilled without being overly dry. It came with two egg rolls, which were meaty. Pho was decent but I think the broth could be more flavorful. Personally I prefer fresh noodles so I wish this was an option. There's a 50 cent flat fee for using card which isn't bad compared to other spots. The place looks newly remodeled and clean. Service is ok, but it could be slow when there are more customers. I gotta tell you, I had high hopes for this spot when I heard they were building it here, and man they did not disappoint. Service is excellent, the staff is super attentive and friendly. Everything is super clean as the restaurant is brand-new. I have been here at least 10 times since the grand opening and the consistency is insane, pho has been spot-on the exact same every single time. The flavor is what has kept me coming back, it's top-tier when it comes to their broth. Meat is always tender and not over-cooked or chewy. Prices are extremely fair, with local competition raising prices steadily ever since Covid, this spot has been a breath of fresh air. I must have ordered the wrong items to give it a "wow". Have to give stars for great service of taking orders, but little confused when the bill time. The food came promptly. Mom likes her food, seafood noodles combo with egg noodles, since the broth was not salty. My beef rice plate has no flavors. The beef slices were the one from pho but there was really any tastes on the meat. It isn't a lot of fat on the meat which makes it a plus. The restaurant used Persian or English cucumber which I appreciated. The fresh spring rolls and the sauce was nice texture. The lemonade is okay toward sweet side than sour. It could be quiet or it could be loud depending on crowds. The entrance is on the first corner side when you enter the lot. Will I try again? It's pretty common to find decent pho in the East Bay but not as common to find good banh hoi or bun bo hue (if it's even on the menu), so when we saw place this a few minutes away after going to a park nearby, we decided to try it out. Was not disappointed! Ordered ban hoi, special combo pho with beef rib, and bun bo hue to go. Husband enjoyed the ban hoi. Kids ate all the pho. Beef rib was super tender and broth was rich! The bun bo hue was for me and omg... it tasted homemade and like I was at my aunts house in Westminster. T_T Right amount of chili and spice, not too sweet, all the ingredients (flank, meatballs, blood cubes, cha lua) were quality! I just wish I had a little more of it! Wow. THIS level of pho in Hayward?! This spot just opened and it was absolutely superb. I ordered the short rib combo pho and the grilled pork rice plate, and both were outstanding. The pho came loaded with meat--seriously generous portions, not the skimpy situation you sometimes get. The broth was rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The grilled pork rice plate was equally impressive: perfectly cooked, well-seasoned, and comforting in the best way. Service was friendly and attentive, and can we talk about how CLEAN this place is?! I am very nitpicky about cleanliness, and the fact that I wasn't grossed out (especially in an Asian restaurant, which can be hit or miss in that department) is a huge win in my book. Over all, the food was flavorful. This was my first time eating here, so its possible the flavor could change slightly depending on the cook. I ordered a large P2(the bowl at the bottom of the picture) and the other was a regular P6. Mine had 1 and a half meat balls, 3 quarter sized slices of tendon, and roughly 2 small pinches of tripe, with about 3 slices of brisket, and about 5 or more of the other meat. At first glance it looks kinda gypped, but once you fluff up the noodles, mix it up, and start eating, you notice it has alot. Especially for the price. Our bill, after ordering wontons, and aregular and large bowl of pho, was a little over $39. In regards to cleanliness, the place was spotless.
