This place has been bookmarked for a while. So we finally got to try it on a random weekday. And of course, it was the hottest day of the week during a heat wave because you know pho is life. the staff here are so sweet. We got seated immediately. We started off with some spring roll some egg rolls and their infamous chicken wing!! I would literally go back just for the wings. It was so tasty and piping hot when it came out it was a fan favorite between all of us, including the kids. Therefore, here comes with so much meat they do not skimp on the meat here. the broth is so tasty. I was so full. Reasonable price. We also ordered their pandan waffle was so tasty so aromatic so flavorful we had to get two. I hiiiiighly recommend, it's nice and soft,fluffy and chewy with crispy edges. Perfection. It's located about the market. The parking space can get tricky here since it's shared amongst all the other stores in and around the marketplace. Can't wait to go back! Food is pretty decent, at least the 2 food items I ordered. My first time seated here and the girl who took my order looked scared to take my order. I ordered the grilled pork Banh mi with extra pate, Banh Khot, & an avocado shake. My Banh mi sandwich came first and was asked twice what was wrong because I sat there just waiting for my other 2 items to arrive. Not sure why I didn't get my avocado smoothie first though. I was thinking she forgot to make it. My banh Khot was very crispy and 2/3 pieces were burned but I ate them all anyway since I was hungry. My observation is that customers can get ignored here and service seems spotty and slow. I see lots of 'to go' orders so kitchen is definitely very busy. Pretty average food compared to other Vietnamese places I've been to so food is okay. Not a spectacular experience in terms of service but I guess if there isn't any other Vietnamese place nearby or within walking distance then I guess this place is okay. When I asked for a bag for my leftover sandwich the guy said just put it in the box (a to go food container) and that their bags are big. Pho 510 is located on the top floor of the Castro Valley Marketplace, which is a food court/grocery similar to a mini version of Emeryville's Public Market. Its a good sized restaurant and has a bit of a modern sports bar feel, with decorative wall art and FIFA World Cup Playing. We came here for lunch and ordered: Pork Chop Rice (5 stars) - The pork was bone-in, thin, and packed with sweet-savory flavor. BBH - Wife seemed to enjoy this classic Vietnamese noodle dish with lemongrass broth and thinly-sliced beef shank. I tasted some of the broth and it was pretty good. Grilled Chicken Vermicelli (4 stars) - I liked this dish too but to be honest I was a bit nervous eating it. The chicken was skin-on and thick. The meat was juicy and seasoned but man it was on the verge of being undercooked, only it was not and had no pink spots. Kudos to the Chef but I'm actually okay with sacrificing some flavor and having a firmer texture next time. Never expected this, but this place has probably one of the best beef phoI've ever had in the Bay Area. I have been to the marketplace numerous times and new restaurant was on the second floor, but never had time to try. I'm glad I finally did. The rice noodle was chewy and the soup was flavorful, but the star was the rare rib eye beef and the brisket! They were both not only full of flavors but super tender! I could tell the beef was of high end grade and cut. Just for this I would go back again. We also got tasty egg rolls. The staff was friendly and there are plenty of tables to sit at. This summarizes a vibe the owners want to make obvious. The owner made certain that all parties felt loved for coming. Pho-510 is women owned and the owner we talked with has a Vietnamese heritage. We had one of the chicken soups to which we added a large portion of steamed vegetables. We had a mix but the owner volunteered to make a custom mix from her list of vegetables. We started with a shrimp spring roll as pictured. The sauce appeared to be a peanut sauce. It added nicely to the spring rolls. The Pho soup was nicely prepared and had a large portion of chicken. We really liked the combination of flavors. We need to get back there on our next visit to get you some more pictures. We visit the marketplace regularly to get bread from Seven Hills Baking, meat from Barrons and produce from Castro Valley Natural Grocery. So now we have a great place for lunch. Pho 510 was a surprisingly nice find for Vietnamese food in CV! I was in CV on a recent Saturday with my family for an event. My son in-law suggested Vietnamese food at this restaurant for lunch after finding it on a Google search. We arrived about 12:45pm and were immediately seated. We were lucky because a steady flow of patrons started to arrive. Their menu had a good variety which made it challenging to decide what to order. Upon finally deciding we placed our orders and they quickly arrived. We all really liked what we ordered: Crispy egg roll, Banh Mi chicken sandwich, Beef Brisket Pho noodles and Grilled Pork Bun Vermicelli bowl. Our consensus was all of the dishes we had were flavorful. Plus they had Vietnamese Egg Coffee really hit the spot! Very friendly service and the dining area was neat and clean. This cute little restaurant is located upstairs in the CV Marketplace. There's a few parking spots on the street out front, but there's also a parking lot next to/behind the building. My mom brought me & my grandparents one night to check it out since it opened recently. She told us she's been there a couple times since they opened & there was a bit of a wait, but luckily when we came, we were seated right away. There's about 15-20 total tables to dine in. Once you arrive, there's a host stand where you check in & they'll get you seated. Once we were seated, we were greeted by one of the friendly servers & given the menus along with water. We noticed on the menu that Monday-Friday from 3-5pm is 15% off appetizers, so we got the shrimp spring rolls to share. We have dined in the Castro Valley Marketplace many times, and I don't know how we missed Pho 5-10. It is such a gem. The staff were so friendly on our visit, and the food was really delicious with generous portions. The restaurant is on the second floor mezzanine level so there was an open floor plan. On one wall was a mural of the beautiful Halong Bay in Vietnam. Perhaps it is because the location is inside a market hall that we didn't have high expectations, and the extensive menu also gave us second thoughts on whether the kitchen can execute well on such broad offerings. Since this is our first time here, we ordered our usual standards- beef pho, grilled beef over rice, grilled pork chops over rice, grilled chicken over rice vermicelli, and shrimp salad. The beef pho came first. The broth tasted phenomenal, and the beef slices were thin and succulent. It came with fresh and delicate herbs and green chiles, which we quickly add to the broth. Next came the grilled meats, and both the grilled beef and pork chops had that smoky grilled flavor, and the marinade was sensational. The plates were huge and on it there were big mounds of rice, generous salads on the side, and a small bowl of clear broth. A small dish of fish sauce was provided if you want to add it to the rice and salad for more flavor. As we were waiting for the next dish, our server came out and apologetically informed us that they had just run out of the grilled chicken, and the chef is preparing a fresh batch, but we would need to wait around 25 minutes for the meat to be seasoned. We didn't want to wait so we opted for the grilled pork, and it was a good choice, as the grilled pork was just as good as the grilled beef and pork chops aforementioned. Our daughter had the shrimp salad, and the portion was large. We thought she wouldn't finish it, but to our surprise, she cleaned up the plate until there is nothing left. It was that good! Came here last Saturday for a late lunch, was very excited to try this new pho place in Castro Valley! I'm a Pho Auntie loyalist, but since they had the fire we've been looking for a new pho place for those colder chilly days. Party of 2. Thankfully it was Thanksgiving break so the village parking lot wasn't super busy, but this area can get really crowded sometimes. We got two bowls of pho and an order of shrimp spring rolls to share. Pho tai is $20.95, which is definitely more expensive than the typical pho place that serves it for maybe $18 or less. Pros: - very solid pho. The noodles were good, broth was unproblematic, and the meat portions were generous. No complaints here on quality. I would say quantity is similar to a typical pho restaurant. - Really nice festive and bright ambiance, especially around the holidays you get to enjoy the Christmas decorations within the village. Pretty chill place for a date, friend hang, etc, with noise level not too quiet but you can still hear each other talk. - Easy seating for a party of 2, no wait when we went mid-afternoon. - I heard that they offered to feed people during the government shut down if their SNAP benefits weren't coming through, so that's super kind and I respect the business for doing that. - All the servers were welcoming and professional, very hospitable. Went here twice and both times did not disappoint. Husband had the pork chop w/rice and I had the grilled chicken vermicelli bowl. Meat was so deliciously marinated for both dishes. I also had the Vietnamese coffee, which the owner said was a blend of the Mr. Espresso beans (yum!). Coffee was strong (kept me up till 3am but that's bc I drank it at 2pm!). Initially, I wanted to go to our usual pho restaurant in Pleasanton but I decided to try this place after my wife had gone to Pho 510 for lunch a short time ago and she liked the food. I am very glad I tried Pho 510. It was worth the drive from Dublin to CV. When we arrived and signed in, we waited for about 15-minutes to be seated. Yes, it was very busy, even around 7:30pm that night. Waiter came immediately to give us glasses of water. The appetizer came within minutes of our order and the food came about 15-20 minutes later. My wife enjoyed her noodle plate and my soup was flavorful and contents of both plates are plentiful. The waitress came back to check on us and offered her homemade chili sauce. This chili sauce is amazing. Not overly hot or spicy, just the right amount. The food and atmosphere will definitely bring us back to Pho 510. We visited during the lunch rush and waited about twenty minutes, which gave us time to watch steaming bowls of pho sail past. When ours arrived, it didn't disappoint. The Combo Pho came loaded with assorted meats, while the beef ball and ribeye pho was simple and satisfying. The broth was deeply flavored without being too salty, and the meats were tender enough to fall apart with a chopstick nudge. Then came the bánh mìs -- the Brisket and the Grilled Pork. Here is a true testament of their quality! I usually don't like phos to go, but pho 510 togo is almost as good as dine-in! Their noodles don't stick together after we got home and put in the soup they expands quickly as if the same at the restaurant while maintaining that texture. I had the leftover pho the next day and just boiled the broth and put the remaining noodles/meat in the boiling broth and it is still good! The owner seems to take a very hands-on approach to running this place, and it really shows. The restaurant is clean and well-maintained, the broth is light and flavorful, and the quality of the meat seems excellent. You can also tell they put a lot of effort into preparing everything as neatly and carefully as possible. The only downside is that the prices are a bit high for the portion sizes, but if you're in the area, this is still one of the better pho spots to check out. read more

Was super excited for their grand opening!! My family and I had been patiently waiting for this new joint to open up! We went on a weekend and it made me so happy to see the community come out and support this new restaurant in town! The wait to get seated didn't take long at all, we definitely got lucky! The service was good, I think because they were so busy it was hard to juggle so many customers and such so I give grace because I know what it's like! When we were being serviced, the waitress attending us was very kind and welcoming! I felt bad for her though cause she was the host, waitress and serving some food and drinks! She can definitely hustle! I have tried so many pho spots and unfortunately, this place just isn't for me! We tried their spring rolls, Thai tea and pho. The spring rolls were good, the Thai tea was super sweet and the pho was okay. For the price, I think I was expecting something different. The taste of the food reminds me a lot of pho ha noi in Palo Alto! So if you like that restaurant, pho 510 is right up your alley! I'm so happy to see and hear that others are enjoying this restaurant and sharing it with friends and family! I will definitely be going back for a second opinion but as of right now, I don't see pho 510 becoming my next go-to read more
