I love the chicken salad here. I am allergic to sesame so I always order it without dressing. Normally a salad without dressing is bland and gross, but this chicken salad is flavorful and a nice experience to eat even without dressing. They're not stingy with the chicken either, it's totally loaded up. The spring rolls with shrimp are also good, they're generous with the sauce when you do takeout. They are a little heavy on the lettuce for me and a little light on the mint.

Food came out fast for our party of 8 with a toddler and a baby! It was a hot day but I am always down for pho! My bf got a rice plate. We were all pretty pleased with our food.

Pho Auntie is our to go spot for some good Vietnamese food. We go here all the time when we crave Vietnamese food close to our place. My husband to go order is usually the vermicelli and I love my combo plate. But during this visit I wanted to try something. I tried their chicken salad and it was so good and so refreshing. Would totally order it again. I also like the tofu skin. My son loved his his banh mi. Service is efficient and fast. Staff are friendly. It's clean. The only down side...parking!! It super limited. Hard to find parking.

My husband and I had free time without the kids so we opted for pho and went during lunch time on a Tuesday. The parking lot is small and shared with a convenience store, so if it's full you'd have to find street parking. The place itself is a decent size. There were a few people in there already but we were seated right away. Ordered the nem roll which was delightful and refreshing. And the dipping sauce went well with it. The pho broth was good. The meat is sliced pretty thin but they give a good portion even for a regular size. They even have a kids menu which is convenient. Next time will def bring the little ones and order for them here instead of buying a whole "adult" meal for a 3 year old. Lol

I came here on a Sunday morning for some pho and this place did not disappoint. The soup had lots of flavors and the rare cuts of beef tasted of quality. Service was pretty fast as well since it wasn't too busy! Plenty of seating inside. The interior is like any quick pho / Vietnamese style restaurant. I'd definitely come back!

Pretty busy on a Sunday afternoon, but people waiting get sat pretty fast! I got the vermicelli combo meal for second time to go - always tasty, and packed with flavor ‍ I got take out, so it took a while to get my food, but worries. Totally worth the wait! I had to go back to get some soy sauce and sriracha, and they were more than happy to help me out. Bathroom is NOICE and spacious lol and clean af Anyways, had their coffee with some egg foam, I loved it. BF was not a fan, but he's picky, so don't listen to him lol

Was recommended to Auntie 7 by a friend who was raving about it so we decided to check it out. All the raves were well deserved! There's a small lot around the side but it fills up quick at rush hours. There's more on the street though. I love the wide range of menu options, and that they are customizable! I got the BBH but vegetarian only. Easily done! She got the mi quang. Both dishes were very good! Washed it down with some fresh sugarcane juice yum! It's packed at lunch but service is fast and they're running around a lot. Also very accommodating. Will keep coming back and make this our primary pho joint now! Gonna have to try more of that extensive menu!

Pho places with a number in their names are usually a safe pick. It stood true for Pho Auntie 7. I ordered their bun bo hue. Their broth wasn't the best I've had but I wouldn't say it's bland like some of the other reviews I've read. They included shrimp paste on the side so I'm wondering if they didnt add it to the broth in case I wouldn't like it. Anyway, the saving grace was the definitely amount of meat and tendon they put in. I felt like there was meat every time I went for the noodles. A bit iffy about the prices though ($8.50 for viet egg coffee?!?!). Service could've been a little bit better. No one came back after we got our food and we have to wait awhile to pay. On the flip side I can say it's good they're not rushing people out the door after they're done eating.

My sister and I stopped by Pho Auntie 7 for lunch. Solid Viet spot! We walked in on a weekend and were seated immediately. The staff are attentive and tremendously courteous. The atmosphere is inviting and cozy; has that mom-and-pop shop vibe. After placing our orders, our dishes arrived within minutes. TAPIOCA DUMPLINGS: I realize I've tried bánh bột lọc before, but not in such a cute, standard dumpling shape. More familiar with the banana leaf-wrapped, cylindrical version! These were delightful, bite-sized, QQ pockets of shrimp. A little sweet and savory, with refreshing bits of scallion. CHICKEN RICE PLATE: ... My go-to at any Viet spot lol. Delicious! Chicken is tender and seasoned well; rice is fluffy; nước chấm is perfectly spicy/sweet-- super pleased. Comes with soup! Would definitely come back to try their egg coffee or other dishes!

Been here twice with my family. First time we dined in and second time we ordered take out. Only downside is parking is a hassle here so noticed a lot of people also order take out. Don't get me wrong tho, there's still a good amount of people dining in and there's usually a wait time since they're quite busy. I absolutely love their banh hoi and it's actually my go-to here. I highly recommend it and it's super filling for me. The environment here is your usual pho restaurant aesthetic. Nothing too special but the food does not disappoint!

4.5 stars Who would've thought that you could find authentic central Vietnamese cuisine in Castro Valley? Pho Auntie 7 (named after an auntie that's the 7th kid in a family of 13) is a casual spot with hard-to-find dishes like Banh Beo, steamed ramekins of chewy rice cakes that came in two different versions: a dry version topped with dried shrimp flakes & mung beans, and a wet version topped with a slurry sauce of shrimp, pork, and chive. The Banh Hoi were thin woven rice noodle bundles, served with grilled pork, sugarcane shrimp, and sausage meatballs, along with peanuts, fried shallots, and fish sauce. The meats were all done to perfection--the marinated pork was nicely caramelized, and the sugarcane shrimp and meatballs were juicy and flavorful. The Banh Cuon (one of my personal favorites for their chewy, slithery texture) were chewy steamed rice noodle rolls with a filling of ground chicken, jicama, and wood-ear mushrooms, topped with slices of cha lua (Vietnamese ham), and served with bean sprouts, fried shallots, and fish sauce. The Baby Clams was a pile of tiny clams stir-fried with lemongrass and onion, and served with large sheets of crunchy sesame rice crackers. Finally, a highlight dish was the Mi Quang, a noodle soup made of chewy yellow turmeric noodles in a savory, slightly spicy broth, served with a caramelized prawn, egg, pork slices, peanuts, and sesame rice cracker sheets for crunch. Overall, the food here was delicious and came at a good value in a casual, family-friendly atmosphere with quick, friendly service too!

Leftover soup. The portion is huge but so is everything in it that it was a challenge to eat. A challenge I wasn't up to.

Lemon grass tofu was unexpectedly good but a real grease fest, consider that a warning for those who cannot indulge in that. The pho was HUGE and not in the nice way. Maybe because it was vegan? *shrug* Anyway the broth was bland, the tofu was the hugest slice of tofu Ive ever laid eyes on in any pho bowl. It scared me a little. Price is good but it didn't make my pho tasty nor did it make finding a parking easy. (Parking sucks!) Im down to try it again because prices and service is good. I'll try it again in the distant future.

After 6 hours of straight shopping I was hangry! This spot has been bookmarked forever and glad I finally got to try some Vietnamese food near home. Parking is a bit hectic but I found a spot on the street since the lot was full. Our waitress came and took our order and we were bought ice waters to our table. On the menu: Banh hoi Lemongrass tofu Nuoc mia Banh hoi was a big portion. The grilled pork was very tender and flavorful. The pork meatballs were really delicious and I avoided the shrimp since I'm allergic. The tofu was a bit tough and chewy but the flavor was there. The nuoc mia has to be my favorite since it wasn't super sweet and it was refreshing. Overall I'd definitely come back and try other dishes. Employees were super friendly and love to support local spots.
