Went to Brothers Barbecue for a special family occasion! as always the service was super warm and welcoming it really has that family feel every time. Since it was my family's first visit, I ordered a little of everything: two tofu soup combos (spicy which will always be my favorite), kalbi, bulgogi, spicy chicken, teriyaki chicken, and bibimbap for the first time. Everything came out quickly and looked great photo-worthy. I already knew the food would be good, but my family loved it too. The bibimbap was a first-time order for me and I thoroughly enjoyed it definitely adding that to my regular picks. Even my year old niece enjoyed it here since its really spacious. I always enjoy both the food and the service here.

Much improved from our last visit two years ago. They have lunch combo specials and a Bo Sam as an appetizer. Not common as you usually see Bo Sam as a special. The Bo Sam is inexpensive and easily feeds 4 as an appetizer, the only small dislike was the pork belly was a bit fatty but quantity wise was a good size of 15 pork belly slices and 6 long lettuce leaves. We put it in the oven that night and it crisped up and melted some of the fat away - Perfect. The combo Spicy Pork and Cold Noodle Soup was also large and easily feeds two if you were to share. The Banchan was also good. Portions are large and we took home enough for dinner that night. Service is attentive.

I used to visit the location when it was Han Dae Gam and now Brother's BBQ. Place looks basicslly the same and food is just as good if not better. Visited with some friends for weeknight dinner and it wasn't too busy. Tables set up for cooking at the table yourself or having them cook it in their kitchen and bringing the food out to you. This is not an AYCE restaurant. :: Korean Seafood and Green Onion Pancakes (Haemul Pajeon) - crispy, soft inside, flavorful with clams, shrimp - good! :: Chicken wings - these were okay and wouldn't order again :: Japchae - translucent glass noodle made from sweet potato starch and mixed with thinly sliced, marinate beef, carrots, onions, spinach with soy and sesame oil - delicious :: LA Galbi or Barbecued Beef Shortribs - nicely marinated, grilled - delicious :: Bulgogi - thinly sliced beef marinated in sweet and savory sauced and grilled - good All dishes including the banchans were delicious but portions like the japchae were a tad smaller than like spots. Still a great Korean food option and would return again. Small shared parking in the back. Price per person with a beverage averaged $55/person with tax/tip

Food, really good! Service, exceptional! We came here on a random date night and we were so pleasantly surprised! Parking is abundant and we were seated right away. They have lots options for cooked food but we wanted to bbq our own food and that has a minimum of 2 entrees to order. The brisket was so good!! So tender, not chewy at all. I wouldn't mind getting 2 orders of this next time. We also got the marinated short ribs which were also good. On the sweeter side so might want to get the unmarinated one next time but still tasty. Tofu soup was really tasty, lots of tofu! The banchan were plentiful and the servers always checked in on us asking if we needed more. My fav were the potatoes! I would def want to come back! It's a great casual spot with quality food.

Went for lunch with my parents. We ordered the lunch combo: galbi + tofu soup. Seafood pancake. And beef tofu soup. But the waitress forgot to write down seafood pancake & it was okay because the food we received was perfect for the three of us with no leftovers! The banchan was super fresh and they gave us refills when we finished it. The lady helping us was super nice too. We really love Korean tofu soup so this was a treat. Would come back again!

Had a wonderful dinner tonight. The staff was incredibly attentive, checked on us often, and took great care of our table throughout the evening. The hospitality really stood out and made the experience enjoyable!! Food and banchan is delicious and they even surprised me with a birthday treat and Milkis, which was such a thoughtful touch

I've driven past this spot for years and finally decided to try it out. We went on a Saturday night around 7pm, and surprisingly it wasn't too crowded. Whenever they're in town, my customers from Korea always come here and say it's comparable--if not better--than KBBQ back home, so I had to see what the hype was about. At first, the pricing threw me off since I'm more used to AYCE KBBQ places. My friend and I ended up ordering the medium beef combination tray ($120), which turned out to be the perfect amount for the two of us--honestly, we could have eaten a little less. The quality of the meat was excellent, probably the best I've had at a KBBQ place. Service was also on point. The staff was very attentive, quick to refresh our banchan, and made sure our grill stayed clean throughout the meal. Overall, a little pricier than what I'm used to, but the quality and service make it worth it.

Vegetable Tofu Soup, Seafood Pancake, side of rice, and banchan! We were able to finish all of this between the two of us :)

We're late-night diners and wanted some tofu soup on a weekday evening. It was around 9pm and I saw on Yelp, that Brother's BBQ closed at 10pm. I've passed by this place so many times and never noticed it. It's pretty big inside and they had some TVs playing kdramas. We were the only patrons, which almost made us not wanna go in, but did anyway and were so glad we did. I thought the workers would be annoyed we came in that late, but they were so friendly and attentive and didn't make us feel rushed at all. We ordered: Vegetable Tofu Soup extra spicy (but kinda disappointed since it wasn't spicy at all) Seafood Pancake 2 sides of rice Everything satisfied our craving. And no skips in the banchan- They were all good!! (I usually don't like fish cake, but loved theirs). This was the perfect amount of food for our party of two.

The only picture I got on our first date.

Solid KBBQ spot here in San Leandro. In fact, it's where my now-boyfriend and I went for our first date. I've been here with my mom before, and the food was great. When I came here with her, I enjoyed a hot stone bibimbap. So when a match from Coffee Meets Bagel and I were planning a date, and he asked to treat me out to dinner, I sent him options from Yelp, and he chose this one. Driving here is pretty easy despite being right by Bart and the train tracks. There's a fair amount of parking in the back. The restaurant itself is very spacious with plenty of seats. Date went so well, we just dove into conversation once we got seated, and it wasn't until a waitress came to ask us if we were ready to order that we realized we hadn't ordered anything yet. We went for standard KBBQ fare, including bulgogi. Our waitress was amazing with helping us cutting our meat, replacing the grill, and being so attentive. We enjoyed our dinner date so much, we ended up being the last ones in the restaurant, and got kicked out at closing time. That was when we decided to go get dessert...and got kicked out at closing time too, LOL! Thanks Brother's BBQ for being a great first-date dinner spot!

I was hoping this would be one of my go to's, only 5 mins from the house. Came in on a Friday night about 6pm and got a able for 2 right way. The service was good, when we sat down they informed us that the kitchen is a little backed up and may take longer than usually if i didn't order the self cooking meats, which was nice because most place won't tell you until you're already pissed off from waiting. Kimchi Fried Rice was good, not too oily. Vegetable Tofu Soup was good. Beef Bulgogi had good flavor but the quality of the meat is not good very chewy. That's why I only gave them a 3 Stars

This is hands down my favorite korean BBQ spot in the east bay. The meat was high quality and the service was impeccable. Despite it being really busy, servers would come by to check on our table often. If you come here you have to get the beef pancake! The meat was very savory and perfectly seasoned! The sauce that came with the dish had me addicted. Their assortment of side dishes were impressive. Even in their soup, they didn't skimp on the amount of meat.

We stumbled upon this small shop in a seemingly sketchy, empty parking lot and honestly wondered if we made a mistake at first. But once we walked in, the place was almost full at 5 PM--mostly with Korean-speaking customers, which is always the ultimate green flag. We were so blown away! This was easily one of the best Korean meals we've had in the Bay Area. It's authentic, salt-of-the-earth home cooking. The Soups: The Seolleongtang and Galbi Gomtang were totally legit. The broths had amazing depth and were incredibly flavorful. Seafood Pancake: One of the absolute best I've ever eaten. Super crispy and crunchy on the outside, and soft and tender with tons of flavorful seafood on the inside. The Banchan: They serve 10 different tasty dishes for banchan! Total score. Portions are large and the pricing is very decent. I was violently craving seolleongtang and did some research to find a spot in Oakland. The menu is pretty big with a lot of enticing options--I love bossam and blood sausage--but because I had tunnel vision, I stuck with the soup. The broth itself was good, and they had salt and pepper on the table so you could season it to your liking. Unfortunately, the noodles were way too soft and almost mushy, and the meat was extremely tough and hard to chew. I couldn't finish it. If seolleongtang is one of your favorite dishes, I'd probably skip it here. My husband got the kimchi fried rice, which was huge and great for sharing between 2-4 people. Based on the portion size, I do think it could use an extra egg, more Spam and some nori on top. It leaned more oily and buttery than other versions I've had, but it was still good--just nothing too special. The vibe and service were solid, so I'd come back to try other dishes and update my rating accordingly.

Vivid is located in a strip mall off Washington St, and looks like a family-run operation with lots of Korean customers. IMHO, Korean cuisine is not only super tasty, but super healthy too and consistent with HHS Secretary Kennedy's diet of high protein, fresh/pickled/fermented veggies, and yes either a fried or boiled egg with hot dishes. Banchan came out first, and was fresh. We loved the bean sprouts and kimchi. Free refills - just ask! Wife got the seafood ramen - nice broth and chewy noodles, but frankly she found chicken meat and not seafood. Maybe a kitchen oversight? The two entrees we got were definitely 5-star worthy. A big, heaping sizzling platter of bulgolgi is a crowd pleaser for sure. Thinly-sliced, juicy, and sweet-savory beefy flavors. I need to eat in moderation due to propensity to develop gout, but my 5yo son loved every bite. Its a bit pricy at $42, but it can feed 2-3 people. Next time we visit, we'll probably try either the BBQ chicken or the Pork Belly. The other amazing dish is the Chicken Dolsot. A huge, sizzling stone bowl of crispy rice and tons of colorful veggies and super juicy chicken meat. A fried egg thrown in for good measure too. I do recommend adding some red Gochujang Sauce for extra flavor burst. Looking forward to coming back for more. The waitress was super friendly and seemed to really like us, so her welcoming demeanor set the tone for the rest of the meal. We went with the kimchi stew, spicy rice cake appetizer, and the seafood dolsot. My husband wished the seafood dolsot was crispier, but felt like it hit the sweet spot between hearty and healthy with really good flavor. We loved the kimchi stew, which was the perfect sharable amount for two people or a satisfying dish for one. It was bubbling when it arrived to the table and had a lot of tofu and kimchi. The only dish that kind of disappointed me was the rice cake appetizer. While it was certainly a generous portion for an appetizer, I felt like there could've been way more rice cakes in there, and I didn't care for what I think was some sort of fish patty that were mixed into the dish. I would've much preferred swapping those out for more rice cakes. However, the flavors were delicious and the spice level was potent without being over the top and killing all the flavor of the dish. They have a wide variety of canned Korean drinks here, so I bought a couple to go: a carbonated watermelon drink and pear juice. Both were really good, and I'd order either one with my meal the next time we drop by. Also worth noting that rice and banchan refills are free so long as everyone at the table orders a dish. The purple rice has been overcooked and/or too hard at other Korean places I've been to, but it was fluffy and tender here, which I appreciated. However, one other minor complaint: it was a bit pricey for what we got. Three dishes plus tax and tip had our total just under $100. If we'd been here with even just one other person, I'm not sure what the total would've been. For a family of four or a group? It's got to start adding up pretty quickly. But at the end of the day, the food and service were good here and we'll be back to try more of the menu in the future.
