I've had Bobjip 3x in the last month and will be back but there can be improvements - kimbap (5): pretty good! Fresh and tasty. - tteokbuki (4) on the spicy side and you cannot adjust level of spiciness which is disappointing for many who cannot tolerate too much spice. -tang su yug (2.5): this is Korean Chinese sweet and sour pork. Some restaurants will call it brown sweet and sour pork. Sauce here has bits of pineapple (no veg) but the reason for the low score is how tough, dry and over fried the pork is. Kind of feels like it is fried ahead of time and maybe fried again to serve? Or it's just fried way too long. For a large order we didn't have one juicy piece of pork. The slices are thin so it doesn't take long to cook but they're hammered. Im glad they're here but a few adjustments would be great! read more

This is my third time ordering from them, and each experience has been great. I really love their black bean noodles--the noodles are always perfectly cooked, and even as takeout, they don't get soggy the next day. The sauce is seasoned just right, not too salty or bland. ALSO, usually I find other restaurants not giving enough sauce compared to the noodles but this spot gives a generous amount of sauce which I love! My second favorite dish is their Korean fried chicken--crispy, flavorful, and the chicken is so tender. I appreciate that they serve a whole chicken instead of just wings. I also enjoy their spicy rice cakes (I can tell that it is made with high-quality rice cakes because it doesn't expand over time) and their kimbab, where the rice-to-ingredient ratio is perfectly balanced. Bobjip is located at East Bay Eats where you order off a kiosk or you can order through their website. They text you when the order is ready and you can pick up from the lockers which you can open with a scan of your phone. The Korean ahjumma was the sweetest and helped my fiance how to pick up his food from the lockers. As a Korean person - I LOVED EVERY DISH I ordered. I'm usually really picky with Korean food since I grew up eating it. I ordered Yukgaejang which comes with rice, Tuna Mayo Kimbap and Wang Yubu Chopap. The Yukgaejang was the best I've had - it had so much flavor and the rice was the perfect consistency. Korean rice is known to have more of a sticky and fluffy rice which made the dish more authentic. The Tuba Mayo Kimbap and the Wang Yubu Chopap was seasoned so well and so filling. I also like that they have authentic Korean drinks like Sac Sac, Pear Juice and Milkis that pairs perfectly with the meals. I would recommend trying Sac Sac which is a Korean grape juice if you have never had it. They also give Korean Honeydew & Grape hard candy with your meal. This is definitely my comfort meal. I'm honestly surprised that a to-go Korean food place can be that good but IT IS. This is definitely my favorite place to grab Korean food in the East Bay!! read more

The food is quite good, so I'll keep coming back and giving them another chance, but my patience is running thin. I've ordered three times: one time, the website wouldn't work, so I couldn't even order at all. I tried their phone number but nobody picked up. Both times I've been able to place an order, the same thing occurred: I get a 15 minute quote, it is NOT ready, the kiosk inside the food hall says 7ish more minutes, I check again, and then it says "delayed". No texts for me letting me know it will be delayed, no updated ETAs. And the people at the front desk are quite nice but do not know about Bobjip orders specifically. So you're stranded, waiting an unknown amount of time with nobody to give an update. Not a pleasant experience. read more

After a minor medical procedure, I ordered the seaweed rolls, kimbap - unagi, and Jjajang Myeon. The seaweed rolls were crispy and chewy. Kimbap available with unagi was SUPER exciting for me. The chicken here is amazing. The wings are huge, fat, juicy, perfectly cooked and breaded. Texture and flavor is out of this world, hands down some of the best chicken (if not the best) I've ever had! Nothing but juicy white meat inside; when I say perfectly cooked I'm dead serious. I ordered plain Korean Style fried chicken wings with the honey and cheese "sauce". The fried chicken by itself comes in a bucket. It's extremely yummy by itself but it's also very good when you sprinkle that honey and cheese powder/spice mix all over it. I didn't know what to do with myself; plain or not or both. Ended up with extra seasoning and I have a feeling I'll really enjoy whatever I put it on. We also tried the kimbap. It could be the best kimbap you've ever had but we aren't big on kimbap so I would say it's unfair for us to judge how good it is. Worth trying once for us though for sure. Very nice and filling as well. We haven't tried other things here yet, but we're definitely going to come back for those ridiculous mutant sized wings with that insane honey cheese spice mix of madness. Found out about this ghost kitchen a while back and I did try this place at that time. Came back yesterday to see if the quality held up and to try different items. Last time we tried the jjpampong and special kimbap, and had a really good experience. This time around, we ordered the jjampong (again), dakgangjeong (korean fried chicken), and the beef kimbap. The korean fried chicken was really delicious. I knew it was a popular item because the last time I was there, everyone seemed to order that (there is a seating area adjacent to the order/pickup area). But even then, I didn't expect this level of korean fried chicken. The sauce coating the fried chicken was so good. Not too sweet and provided a nice balance. On top of a nicely fried exterior, the chicken wasn't dry and was the perfect size as well. There was also a lot of fried chicken, the portion lasted 2 meals. There were even rice cakes inside that had the sauce coating, making for a nice chewy bite. The kimbap had a lot of filling vs rice and I think I did end up liking the beef more than the special. It seemed to pair better for my tastes. The jjampong seemed less flavorful than the first time I had it. Not to say it was worse, as it was still good especially on such a cold day, but I could tell there was a difference. Still a good level of spice, not too much that it overwhelms but enough to be spicy. The noodles and soup are kept separate, which I'm glad they do so the noodles don't soak up the soup and overcook. The noodles were nice and chewy and the soup had a lot of meat, seafood, and veggies. I enjoyed it all the same, but hopefully the jjampong broth is improved because I really like having a good Korean restaurant close by to me! This was a pickup order so very little staff interaction. I simply told the front counter staff my name and he brought my order out. There is usually a lot of others waiting for their orders, so don't be afraid to go up and ask staff about yours! Kinda late post, but had to share I got the sweet chicken with the spicy option. I havent tried it as just sweet, but it wasn't spicy unless you ate the jalapeño. Not complaining at all, was still delicious and not overly sweet. I LOVED how they gave rice cakes, and they were fried first before they were coated in the sauce The bucket is fairly big, so definitely worth the money. I shared with my bf who has a big appetite, but I think this could easily be shared between 3 people. The spicy pork kimbap was also very delicious. I think the price is very reasonable, considering I use to go to Oakland for kimbap and they were all $12, and the selection was small. Only veggie, fish cake, and beef. I just ordered jjajamyeon from DoorDash and I was very excited to see on Yelp that there is a jjajamyeon place close to my house!! As I was scrolling through their menu, I found their items to be a little more on the pricier end. I'm glad that I chose to try their jjajamyeon!! They don't skimp out on veggies + meat which is rare in my opinion. Also, the sauce and noodles are made to perfection!! The noodles are very slurp-able and chewy! The sauce isn't very paste-y and it reminds me of the jajamyeon from Korea. The only thing I wish is that this jjajangmyeon had potatoes.. But that's just a personal preference. Awesome spot for a variety of different Korean food! There were various items such as kimchi dumpling, potato tornados, and black bean sauce noodles. Extremely delectable and delicious. It is part of a ghost kitchen operation yet the food still tasted very fresh. The umami from the black bean sauce was unparalleled and the noodles were actually very al dente. Other items they had that I wasn't expecting them to have ranged from kimbap, to bibimbap, to even soon tofu soup. All in such a convenient location as well. My son and I have been wanting to try kimbap for so long and saw that this recently opened up close to home. I told my son about it and he took his gf here for her birthday. He really liked it, so we stopped in when my mom was in town and ordered from a few different menus. From Bobjip we ordered kimbap (Bobjip special and spam and kimchi) , seaweed rolls (filled with vermicelli noodles) and beef bulgogi rice bowl. SO GOOD! My son and I both said we like kimbap better than sushi. The different flavors just went so well together. Everything tasted fresh. The seaweed roll and the sauce it came with were really good too, nice flavor and texture. Someone (maybe the owner?) came out and gave us drinks, which was so appreciated. The food was great, but a little expensive being that it doesn't really have a store front, and no place to dine in. I'm not a fan of their concept of not having a store front, it doesn't feel personal, a little cold in my opinion. Again, the prices are a bit high, I ordered their fried chicken, two kimbap, and an appetizer, and it came out to be $60 -- for $20 more I could of had two steak & rib plates at Texas Road House.
