I'm not sure about coming back to this place. We have a big group and the food we ordered did not come at the same time. It took a long time to get each order. It's Mother's Day and they should have anticipated it's gonna be busy. The order goes in order...per order item. So make sure that you order everything at once on which we did and still the food arrived very long...and each items NOT ALL at ONCE The food is very good but they need to hire more people. There are only 2 servers.

Came on a Sunday afternoon to try this place for the first time. Glad to have found a great hole in the wall spot! They open at 1PM on Sundays. Parking lot is quite large. Authentic Korean food with friendly service. Food is fresh and flavorful. The banchan dishes are some of the better I've had! They come by and constantly refill them. We were served tea and water. They recommend getting the whole fried chicken and we loved it - so crispy and good! My favorites were soups - we tried the galbitang and soondubu which were rich in flavor. The fried mackerel was very crispy and done well. The seafood pancake and bibimbap were also good, pretty standard. This is a a solid Korean place in the area. Great experience!

It's a small restaurant feel with two different sides. Grilling and non- grilling. We usually sit on the non-grilling side because we order chicken! MY FAVORITE CRIPSY CHICKEN. HANDS DOWN. The ladies who run this restaurant are so kind and attentive. They haven't gotten any orders wrong and they notice right away if our banchan is low. They are very nice when you ask for more kimchi or any banchan. Things we have tried: Pork Belly - pre cooked 9/10 Korean Fried Chicken Original - 10/10 Sodduk 11/10 SNACK DDUBBOKKI - beware if you are not a spicy person...this is not a mild spice.

Truly a gem among Korean restaurants and I'm blessed to live close by. Every time I try another Korean restaurant, even if it's good, my first thought is "but it's not as good as Korea House." They offer both regular dining tables and cooking tables. There's three menus--barbecue, conventional dining with all the little sides, and the fried chicken menu. I love the warm and inviting lighting. Their spicy barbecue chicken is 1. ACTUALLY spicy and 2. to die for, but the crispy fried chicken (pictured here) is my favorite ever. Literally nothing can top it for me. The breading doesn't get soggy and start peeling off after a few hours like most everywhere else, theirs is the only fried chicken I will eat as leftovers! This fried chicken is so flavorful with a lovely hint of heat, more like a pleasant warmth to the tongue than the dazzling sting of something that would be labeled as actually hot. Other fried chicken underwhelms me now, when I say nothing can compare I don't say it lightly. The service is great, they come to check on us repeatedly to make sure we're alright and I don't ever have to wait super long for my food. Safe to say Korea House has ruined me for any other fried chicken and Korean cuisine.

First time trying this place even tho its only about 5 mins from my house, but cant believe I havent tried sooner!! The look and feel outside gives you that nostalgic OG restaurant feel, when you walk inside, you feel the same way as well. Came on a Thursday night for a takeout order. They looked pretty busy as well. The person who helped us with our pick up order was nice in communicating with us that they were out of some items for banchan, and that she'll give us double next time :D We waiting maybe 20 minutes after getting there to receive all our food. I just remember it smelling soooo good when we grabbed the bags. What I got and how I rate them: -Corn Cheese (8/10) -Combo 3 (10/10) -Spicy Teokbokki (8/10) -Japchae (9/10) -Beef Soup (8/10) (not pictured) Combo 3 was a good choice bc you get a variety of meats. Everything was really yummy and flavorful, and they definitely give you a goood amount of food. It was one of those things where you open the take out boxes and say "WOW". The total for this came to like ~$130ish? But it fed 5 people well :) Overall...I will definitely come back here to try more items esp the Yang Nyum Chicken!! So glad I finally came to this place.

Korea House is still open and now serving TTO BONG EE Korean Fried Chicken. If it's your first time trying this chain, I would suggest the half order of CRISPY with the option of drums and wings or wings only. TTO BONG EE Chicken: https://yelp.to/feJhEsEqElb Korea House still offers their usual menu items with the faves being the LA-style shortribs and japchae. Be sure to call in your order (chicken option not available for online ordering yet) to minimize the wait time. Server is very friendly and helpful when placing your order Private parking available but not the best lighting. Located about 3 blocks from the Hayward BART station

    Very well packaged!

Do you have a weekday lunch menu at $20 or less?

Yes! There is the lunch menus under $20. They even do the lunch menu for the dinner time as well.

Is this just name change and still serving the same food? Or adding fried chicken on the menu which I was trying to see ( but I didn't see anything)?

Same Korea house menu plus excellent fried chicken! If you google Korea house Hayward, it will take you to the chicken menu.

The combo #2 my girlfriend and I had was cooked very well, had a great mix of flavors (got the "Crabby Crabby" mild mix sauce), and the ambiance gave away a homey vibe. The catfish and fries were the only things worth eating -- crispy and actually good. Everything else? Low tier. The calamari was unevenly fried, the prawns were forgettable, and the oysters were the worst part. Instead of whole deep‑fried oysters, they gave us several oysters that had been chopped into halves and even quarters, turning into little oyster nuggets -- and those nuggets were fried way too hard, so you don't even get the real oyster experience. I've never seen anyone cut oysters like that. Overall, the food gets a C from me. I'm curious about their crab boil, but not curious enough to waste my money and risk another letdown. If you want good deep‑fried seafood, skip this place and find somewhere that actually knows what they're doing. Cashier was pleasant ambiance was nice.

I love the New Orleans food scene and therefore had a pretty high bar for Cajun food outside of Louisiana. I came in a little hesitant because I've been disappointed too many times by the options we have in the bay for Cajun food. But after I opened the box and took my first bite of that blackened shrimp Po Boy I could've sworn I thought I was sitting in the French Quarter again. The nice young lady that took my order recommended the blackened shrimp as an underrated choice on the po boys so I had to try it out. I came stuffed with a Red wine coleslaw, tomatoes, pickle slices and a drizzle of their special sauce (that I can only describe as spicy cajun mayo). 12/10 and I'm not exaggerating I also had a side (and when I say side take it with a grain of salt cause this feeds like 3 people for being a side) of the fresh Crab fries. Not overdone with the ingredients yet what a powerful hit of flavor, the Cajun seasoning usually comes out a bit salty on fries but these guys figured out how to balance it with the fresh shredded crab on top, garnished off with some green onion and more special sauce, this thing made me look around the room to see if anyone else was reacting like this over the food. (And they were! People were sitting there talking about "last time I tried ___ and ___ and it was fire") In the end I saw a guy that looked very proud to be there and was helping around the place while running back to his computer, that was Brett, the owner. I had to go and shake the man's hand and pick his mind a bit. He's a born and raised in New Orleans guy and you could tell by his kindness and southern hospitality. (Dude gave me a delicious carrot cake to go) Unfortunately in the end I had to walk back out into the reminder that I was in Castro valley and not New Orleans but for minute I was able to remember everything that had previously experienced from my trips there and that's what a great meal should do for you. His city should be proud of what he created here. I will absolutely be back to work my way through the full menu and add more pics to this review.

We ordered the Cajun crab fries and the fried chicken sandwich. The chicken sandwich was the standout. It was crispy, well-seasoned, juicy, and full of flavor. I'd happily order it again. The Cajun crab fries started off really good, but as we dug deeper, they became overwhelmingly salty. It seemed like the Cajun seasoning was layered heavily throughout, and unfortunately I couldn't finish them because of it. I'm leaving one star off for the fries, but overall I enjoyed the experience and would definitely come back to try more of the menu.
