We started with the chicken lettuce cups and seared butterfish--both were excellent, and our 11-year-old especially loved the lettuce cups. For entrées, we ordered seafood Pad Thai, chicken fried rice, honey walnut prawns, Mongolian chicken, and steamed rice. We settled on bento boxes, the beef and shrimp tempura and salmon teriyaki and shrimp tempura dinners, sharing a spider roll and a dragon roll. The beef was tender and flavorful. The salmon teriyaki was fine. Less impressive was the hard, deep fried salmon dumplings that come with the bento. The rolls were fresh, well prepared and presented. We've hosted friends from abroad here, I've taken exes (still friends), and now seeing them expand their menu. The food is good and you'll probably find something you like. Once food ordered was placed, food came out flying fast and it was fresh and hot. We had a variety of dishes. The sweet and sour pork, thai basil chicken, salt and pepper wings, as well as salt and pepper shrimp. We also got the fried rice, chow fun and sushi. Everything that we ordered was flavorful and delicious. We got a platter of the cooked sushi and the platter of raw sushi along with sashimi. The raw sushi was really good and fresh. I decided to DoorDash this time and it didn't really pan out too well. I ordered right when they opened and the food did come rather fast. I got a few rolls and they were delicious as was the assorted sashimi. The rolls were the Cherry Blossom & Home Sweet Home. I also ordered the chicken chow fun which was good but had very few noodles in it. It was basically just chicken. The gyoza was good but I didn't like the sauce that came with it. The golden crispy rolls were kinda slimy. Didn't seem like they were cooked all the way. I got the bbq short ribs but they didn't look anything like the picture on DoorDash. In the picture they were red and saucy and what I got was brown and dry with sesame seeds as pictured in this review. Not sure if the picture is wrong or they gave me the wrong thing. They weren't bad, just wasn't what I expected. The most disappointing part was that I ordered and paid for the warrior chicken and they didn't give it to me. Our friends ordered a ton of appetizers like chicken karaage, furikake fries, some kind of unagi sushi, and gyoza. I enjoyed the furikake fries as they were made just right as well as the unagi sushi. 3 of us had the bento box and one had the sea bass appetizer. I ordered by bento with tempura and beef teriyaki and it was made to perfection. There is even a private room for parties as it was being occupied at lunch time for a gathering. We got fried rice, garlic noodles, some chicken thai basil made of chicken breast (yuck), and garlic mushrooms that don't taste like mushrooms. Basically, everything is cold and nothing tasted good. the rice tasted really old. We were starving when we got it, when you're starving everything should taste good. I spat out the food that i put in my mouth. That wonton soup was cold as fuck. We get take out from a chinese resto in union city and when we get home it's still very hot.. and Genghix is less than a 5 min drive from our home. This is not real asian food. This is the restaurant that can actually please our tummy on the variety of food we get to eat. Service is always excellent. Ambiance can be very noisy at times.
