I like Genghix :) It's a classic asian fusion restaurant with a million things on their menu. The restaurant itself goes beyond with their theming and decorations. I went with family members for a quick dinner. They seated us at an awkward table where is was hard for me to move my chair and get up lol. We ordered: fried calamari crab salad garlic green beans chicken teriyaki dinner sweet and sour pork salmon nigiri egg rolls lion queen roll stand outs for me were the crab salad (always good every time i order), and garlic green beans (flavorful, crunchy, just yummy). The calamari was good too, but I was also expecting smaller bits of calamari, not just the rings. My aunt wasn't a fan of the sauce! Beef fried rice was pretty standard, good but nothing crazy. Lion queen roll was also yummy but seems like the rolls was not packed tightly because it was falling apart at the lightest touch. Sweet and sour pork was okay. Salmon nigiri was okay. We did have a laugh at how big the dishes they served the food on were. It was HUGE, like all this food took up 2 tables. The plate holding the lion queen roll was longer than my forearm. We started with the chicken lettuce cups and seared butterfish--both were excellent, and our 11-year-old especially loved the lettuce cups. I've been to this place for almost as long as I've been alive, back when they had the buffet and I almost bankrupted them getting only unagi to their change becoming a fusion restaurant. We've hosted friends from abroad here, I've taken exes (still friends), and now seeing them expand their menu. The food is good and you'll probably find something you like. The sweet and sour pork, thai basil chicken, salt and pepper wings, as well as salt and pepper shrimp. We also got the fried rice, chow fun and sushi. Everything that we ordered was flavorful and delicious. We got a platter of the cooked sushi and the platter of raw sushi along with sashimi. The raw sushi was really good and fresh. Let me just say that I absolutely love this place. I've never ordered to go though. Every time I dine in it's perfect service and a great time. I decided to DoorDash this time and it didn't really pan out too well. I ordered right when they opened and the food did come rather fast. I got a few rolls and they were delicious as was the assorted sashimi. The rolls were the Cherry Blossom & Home Sweet Home. I also ordered the chicken chow fun which was good but had very few noodles in it. It was basically just chicken. The gyoza was good but I didn't like the sauce that came with it. The golden crispy rolls were kinda slimy. Didn't seem like they were cooked all the way. I got the bbq short ribs but they didn't look anything like the picture on DoorDash. In the picture they were red and saucy and what I got was brown and dry with sesame seeds as pictured in this review. Not sure if the picture is wrong or they gave me the wrong thing. They weren't bad, just wasn't what I expected. The most disappointing part was that I ordered and paid for the warrior chicken and they didn't give it to me. This place is usually excellent. However, this time the fish was straight up funky. Both my roll and the sashimi salad. I did eat two pieces from the roll (tossed the rest as it was fishy and slimy) and half the salad and have had severe intestinal issues for almost 24 hours now. The dressing in the salad I think masked the taste of the sketchy fish. Went in to urgent care and was told I had food poisoning and received fluids. You all need to do better and watch what kind of fish you are sending out to your customers. read more

My friends brought me here for lunch and this is the first time I've ever heard of Genghix! This place has been here for eons and it is located in the shopping strip opposite Ramen 101. Our friends ordered a ton of appetizers like chicken karaage, furikake fries, some kind of unagi sushi, and gyoza. I enjoyed the furikake fries as they were made just right as well as the unagi sushi. 3 of us had the bento box and one had the sea bass appetizer. I ordered by bento with tempura and beef teriyaki and it was made to perfection. There is even a private room for parties as it was being occupied at lunch time for a gathering. The salmon teriyaki was fine. Less impressive was the hard, deep fried salmon dumplings that come with the bento. The rolls were fresh, well prepared and presented.
