I like Genghix :) It's a classic asian fusion restaurant with a million things on their menu. The restaurant itself goes beyond with their theming and decorations. I went with family members for a quick dinner. They seated us at an awkward table where is was hard for me to move my chair and get up lol. We ordered: fried calamari crab salad garlic green beans chicken teriyaki dinner sweet and sour pork salmon nigiri egg rolls lion queen roll stand outs for me were the crab salad (always good every time i order), and garlic green beans (flavorful, crunchy, just yummy). The calamari was good too, but I was also expecting smaller bits of calamari, not just the rings. My aunt wasn't a fan of the sauce! Beef fried rice was pretty standard, good but nothing crazy. Lion queen roll was also yummy but seems like the rolls was not packed tightly because it was falling apart at the lightest touch. Sweet and sour pork was okay. Salmon nigiri was okay. We did have a laugh at how big the dishes they served the food on were. It was HUGE, like all this food took up 2 tables. The plate holding the lion queen roll was longer than my forearm. The service was not attentive or welcoming, and what really surprised me was being charged $3.00 for a soft drink and another $3.00 for a refill. After passing by Genghix Asian Fusion for years, my wife finally suggested we give it a try--and I'm glad we did. Four of us went for dinner and had a great experience. The interior has that classic, old-school Asian restaurant vibe, almost bordering on a tiki bar feel. I'd heard about Genghix from locals for a long time, and now I understand the appeal. We started with the chicken lettuce cups and seared butterfish--both were excellent, and our 11-year-old especially loved the lettuce cups. For entrées, we ordered seafood Pad Thai, chicken fried rice, honey walnut prawns, Mongolian chicken, and steamed rice. Everything came out fresh, flavorful, and easily held its own against some of our go-to spots. We had plenty of leftovers and they tasted great for lunch the next day. Overall, it was a really enjoyable meal, and we're already planning to go back and explore more of the menu. The sushi was also on point-fresh, well made, and gone way too fast. And the appetizers? Honestly, too many to even list, but every one we tried hit. I came here tonight to have dinner with my cousin and father. The sushi bar had seats available as soon as we entered. The food was great. Everything was delivered correctly and fast. The dining area was busy, and all the waiters still provided excellent service. Water and tea were topped off. The sushi was excellent. I've been to this place for almost as long as I've been alive, back when they had the buffet and I almost bankrupted them getting only unagi to their change becoming a fusion restaurant. We've hosted friends from abroad here, I've taken exes (still friends), and now seeing them expand their menu. The food is good and you'll probably find something you like. Once food ordered was placed, food came out flying fast and it was fresh and hot. We had a variety of dishes. The sweet and sour pork, thai basil chicken, salt and pepper wings, as well as salt and pepper shrimp. We also got the fried rice, chow fun and sushi. Everything that we ordered was flavorful and delicious. We got a platter of the cooked sushi and the platter of raw sushi along with sashimi. The raw sushi was really good and fresh. Sushi rolls are AMAZING. We were a bit nervous about the reviews until we showed up. Those who said the soup is cold might be lying because ours came out clean and steamy and delicious. Service is super sweet, waitress was patient and funny. The spot itself is pretty and soothing, we love the overall vibe of the restaurant. I decided to DoorDash this time and it didn't really pan out too well. I ordered right when they opened and the food did come rather fast. I got a few rolls and they were delicious as was the assorted sashimi. The rolls were the Cherry Blossom & Home Sweet Home. I also ordered the chicken chow fun which was good but had very few noodles in it. It was basically just chicken. The gyoza was good but I didn't like the sauce that came with it. The golden crispy rolls were kinda slimy. Didn't seem like they were cooked all the way. I got the bbq short ribs but they didn't look anything like the picture on DoorDash. In the picture they were red and saucy and what I got was brown and dry with sesame seeds as pictured in this review. Not sure if the picture is wrong or they gave me the wrong thing. They weren't bad, just wasn't what I expected. The most disappointing part was that I ordered and paid for the warrior chicken and they didn't give it to me. This place is usually excellent. However, this time the fish was straight up funky. Both my roll and the sashimi salad. I did eat two pieces from the roll (tossed the rest as it was fishy and slimy) and half the salad and have had severe intestinal issues for almost 24 hours now. The dressing in the salad I think masked the taste of the sketchy fish. Went in to urgent care and was told I had food poisoning and received fluids. My friends brought me here for lunch and this is the first time I've ever heard of Genghix! This place has been here for eons and it is located in the shopping strip opposite Ramen 101. Our friends ordered a ton of appetizers like chicken karaage, furikake fries, some kind of unagi sushi, and gyoza. I enjoyed the furikake fries as they were made just right as well as the unagi sushi. 3 of us had the bento box and one had the sea bass appetizer. I ordered by bento with tempura and beef teriyaki and it was made to perfection. There is even a private room for parties as it was being occupied at lunch time for a gathering. The food is always delicious, service is friendly and they thoughtfully pack to go orders to make sure everything is hot and fresh when you get home. The vibe inside is great. There are always people Inside and the ambient noise level still allows you to have a conversation at the table or see the game on the tv. Favorite orders: 1) garlic noodles! I am not a fan of mushrooms but i just pretend they are not in this dish because the garlic flavor is so delish! 2) sweet and sour pork or chicken. We settled on bento boxes, the beef and shrimp tempura and salmon teriyaki and shrimp tempura dinners, sharing a spider roll and a dragon roll. The beef was tender and flavorful. The salmon teriyaki was fine. Less impressive was the hard, deep fried salmon dumplings that come with the bento. The rolls were fresh, well prepared and presented. The server was attentive and welcoming, bringing more wasabi when asked and filling water glasses. We didn't feel rushed to finish our meal. The dining room was festive and can be loud. This is the restaurant that can actually please our tummy on the variety of food we get to eat. Service is always excellent. Ambiance can be very noisy at times.
