The next ownership group the restaurant was still good though they sliced it a little bit thinner, but the quality of fish was still good. The next generation of ownership. We stopped for lunch after shopping as we were in the mood for some tempura. We ordered the 5pc shrimp tempura dinner and the spicy crunchy crab roll lunch special. Prices were reasonable, food and service were very average. We got a waiter who didn't look like he was even a waiter, just threw the menu at our table, didn't greet us or make eye contact throughout. The tempura was some panko crusted thing that has nothing to do with tempura. Mostly coating with a tiny center of shrimp and definitely not tempura batter. The dipping sauce was sweet, like wtf. We came with a large group during lunch time. We sat at two different tables. The staff was curt and they seemed hurried. Our table ordered but the other table's order was taken until about 15 minutes later. (It was not busy, all other tables were finished and leaving.) They ran out of miso soup so the second table was finally served their miso way later. Our table finally received our food and finished before the other table received their food. Several of us had bento box. The Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura bento had one small shrimp and three veggies. Nothing to write home about. The miso soup was bland. The Unagi Rice bowl was flavorful. Great, spectacular service & great food! I have been here fore couple times since Sushi Ichimoto has been in the area for so many years. Recently came here for their lunch special and they offer not just great deals but also great food. I ordered the lunch special which you get one sushi roll, one hand roll, and a drink for great price. For the lunch special 3-items combo, I ordered the double salmon roll, hamachi hand roll, and iced tea. Both the sushi rolls are fresh and tasty with great portion. I love the decor which is Japanese style and they have TVs for you to watch games from what I remember last time when I dined in. Service was great and the staffs are friendly and attentive. This is a good restaurant for sushi. I really like that there is a vegetarian section of the menu with some good variety. But there is one major problem with it. there isn't any problem with the food, bathroom or anything like that, but one aspect of the menu is pretty terrible. I got the lunch deal where you get a sushi roll, a drink or miso soup, and a hand wrap. I picked the under the sea roll and the food came really fast, but when I took my first bite it was spicy and the menu said nothing about it being spicy. In fact the menu didn't even tell you what was inside. The place is nice inside and everything else is good. First time here. I order a $100+ worth of food. Order chirashi don, sake don, clam soup, 2 rolls and tempura. Came around 5:30 PM, no line, then around 6 PM people started coming in. For the amount of food that you got at a most reasonable price I'm not sure how this business makes any money. I had the Katsu pork with sashimi and California roll. For $16 I was full. Not sure how many places can offer so much food for a reasonable price. I did have to wait a longer period of time for the food as there was a large party in front of us. They did their best to take care of them first, but they did give us decent service afterwards. This place is worth going to. I like to come back and try something different. Spent a long time placing a birthday dinner order on DoorDash for our family of 6. Tuesday evening we went to have dinner at Sushi Ichimoto. We ordered miso soups, the deluxe California roll, butter garlic spinach noodles and 2 lion king rolls. The food was really fresh and delicious. We decided to get an extra lion king roll bc wow. I didn't really care for the California roll but my son sure did. We decided to try something new, and got the noodles. They tasted like chow mein but crispier and were soooo good. Their service was really friendly, and they were pretty quick. When I told the waitress I only wanted to tip $7 instead of $10, she asked me if I thought she didn't do a good job and if I didn't have enough money to tip. We came in for a quick lunch, and I had chosen this spot since I hadn't come since before the pandemic. It was nice to see the familiar ambiance of low light, furnished decor, and good seating arrangements. The issue came when one of the waitresses appeared in a rushed mood, saying that we had less than 10 minutes to place an order since it was last call. To be fair, we didn't know they would be closing so soon as they didn't have any updated operating hours on Apple Maps. More understanding could have been made by both the waitress and another worker when we confronted him about it. While we were clearly still eating, one of the workers (rushed again) demanded we pay before registers closed, which dampened our dining experience. Meanwhile, workers around us had stopped checking in, stopped refilling waters, and seemed completely absent from the dining accommodations, all whilst rushing us for payment. Their Oakland A's roll was good for the price, but I was disappointed to see that the salmon skin used in their Salmon Skin rolls was stale and appeared to have been sitting out for long. If the service was more understanding, or simply denied us seating since they weren't at capacity to serve us properly, my rating would have been higher. Went here for a work lunch and it was alright. The service was pretty good especially since we had a bigger group but two of our people got their food when the rest of us were already done. The spicy garlic soybeans were very tasty and were my favorite thing. I ordered the lion king roll and the GS warriors roll. They were both pretty bland. The lion king roll was stuck to the foil and fell apart as I ate it. The warriors roll was okay but not very flavorful. We ordered dessert and the green tea ice cream was really good. Food was decent but the service is so terrible. They had a long line of take-out orders and they prioritized them over the dine-in people so my sushi got out about 20 mins after my partner's katsu. They also got my order wrong and gave me double the sashimi I ordered and was about to charge me for it if I didn't correct it. Afterwards, getting anything taken care of like water or extra wasabi took a long time for anyone to look in our direction. When it was time for box and bill, our waitress came up to us to ask if we wanted a box and we said yes.... But then she got distracted and started running around forgetting our box. I said okay they're busy but even with us calling her back multiple times she said she needs to prioritize other customers before us. Another waitress saw that we've been waiting a while and tried to call ours but she was prioritizing other people so another waiter gave us our bill and box around 30 minutes after we initially asked. At the end of it, they had a forced gratuity for all parties not just large parties so they are rewarding themselves for bad service. Maybe next time, just order from doordash or takeout as it seems like they get priority over dine-in customers anyway and there is no forced gratuity for bad service. Edit: I did ask for them to remove the tip but they basically told me that I should've known its added as they have a small note in the first page of the menu and gave me no choice but to pay for the tip. Wanted to add that my partner kept commenting about how the seafood was left on the counters for takeout for a long time so maybe I take back what I said about ordering doordash/takeout. Sushi Ichimoto was one of the decent sushi spots that was still open at night, so I stopped by for a quick post workout meal. The outside is bright and lit up, so it catches your attention, while the inside is not as bright, and looks modern and simple. There is plenty of parking the shared lot as well. I ordered salmon nigiri and salmon roll to go. Although the portions of the salmon roll was generous, the quality of the salmon was just okay. Relative to other places, the sushi rolls are more affordable and they're a good size! Pretty big. We tried their double hamachi roll, under the sea roll, and hurricane roll. As well as their gyoza for appetizer (only $5!). The rolls had good portion of decent quality fish. We loved their hurricane roll and their under the sea roll. Love the spicy tuna and the spiciness of it all. The hamachi roll had very generous portion of fish which we love! I also enjoyed their gyoza, pretty good! Solid meal for two on a weeknight.
