Both tartares regular and ceviche poor. Weird flavor on the ceviche tuna no lime juice and regular tartare finely ground and too spicy. Honey walnut prawns excellent. Very hit n miss. If you're looking to get a bento box here definitely look elsewhere! I paid $26 for two Items: Tempura and Beef Teriyaki. I got two small pieces of lackluster shrimp tempura that resembles the frozen ones from Costco. The beef was of the lowest quality , it had sauce on it but I'm pretty it wasn't teriyaki. They also gave a really small amount of rice too. I am so disappointed at this restaurant. Other sushi restaurants around the area charge $20-22 for 3 items and they give at least 8 pieces of tempura and generous amount of rice & salad in comparison to this place. read more

This place is a prime example of "even though the average ratings are lower, you should still eat there." I don't know why this place doesn't have more stars. The food and service were fantastic!! Our server was an absolute gem. She was so sweet, attentive, and always made sure we had everything we needed. The other employees were also very helpful and also checked on us, even though we weren't technically their table. It seemed like everyone cared about every customer. The food was delicious. We ordered the lion king, fried California, Philadelphia roll, and the spider roll. Each one was fresh and flavorful. They don't skimp on the portions either! The roll sizes were big and so filling. They are all also reasonably priced, especially for the size and quality. I've been to other places where the prices are 7-8 dollars more, but the rolls are have the size and not as tasty. I've been coming to this place all throughout my childhood & I will say their service is unmatched. On top of that, the food is consistently excellent--from Chinese food to Sushi & Thai! The options are limitless as there are vegetarian options (not sure about Vegan) but you can definitely ask the servers. The owner Chin is sweet & very family oriented. Love this place! It's such a welcoming environment and the food is reasonable and good. Such a rarity these days in the Bay. Just walking into the location you feel as if you're stepping into a unique and nice establishment. Look at the outside facade and inside decor! My friend recommended we have dinner at one of his favorite sushi spots, so we met up at Genghix in Castro Valley. This was our Christmas get together, so in addition to eating, we caught up and opened presents. Service was perfect for our needs, as they left us alone enough to do our thing but took our order, refilled water, and cleared plates without us asking. The food came out really fast. I was impressed, as the bar and rest of the restaurant were pretty full. Our group ordered a wide variety of food including a tempura & teriyaki combo, side salads, garlic green beans, assorted rolls (Snow White, Dragon, Lion King, & Lion Queen) and salmon nigiri sushi. Amidst Covid-19, my family was craving sushi so we ordered takeout since it's nearby. I called in to order around 5:15pm and asked to pick up at 6pm and they were very accommodating. Upon arrival to pick up the food, there were 3 people in line ahead of me and it was about a 15 minute wait.
