UPDATE: We ordered the 15 lb Lechon Belly for a party... OMG it was sooooo good. Our guests absolutely RAVED about it. RUN, don't walk!

Family introduced us to this little gem. There aren't a lot of Filipino buffets in the Bay, so I was happy to give Pistahan a try. They have a good selection of dishes. We came late on a Sunday and they still had food coming out. The flavors are very good and there's a lot of meat dishes. The Lechon kawali, bbq chicken, and pan it was very good. They have garlic fried rice which I haven't seen at a buffet before. The price is reasonable for all the food.

We came to buy the viral fish sandwich at Chinese Bakery but the line is sooo long and didn't want to wait. Came to Pistahan since I was craving for some Silog. Glad we did because the food was delicious . I ordered isaw also. Very flavorful. I really injoyed it. And they are not shady with their meat and rice. Delicious. The place is so clean and everyone was friendly. I wanna try other dishes

This was a door dash pick up order that did not disappoint!! Everything we ordered was delicious! The flavor was 10/10! We ate the garlic rice so fast, I forgot to capture a photo, but the chicken adobo paired well with it. The restaurant is in a small plaza with plenty of parking and you can dine in. I highly recommend!

Filipino-inspired buffet experience [San Leandro CA] We couldn't decide where to eat but since we were planning on going to the Livermore Outlets we decided to look somewhere in San Leandro... and ended up here at Pistahan. Oh, the memories of driving on these congested freeways when I used to live in the Bay Area especially the 880 and 238 highways. I was unaware that the restaurant is a buffet experience restaurant which is a good choice for those who can eat a lot, luckily, they also offered table service for smaller orders. We each chose a silog rice plate. Bangsilog for me (milkfish) w/ egg (add'l $1). Hubby chose his usual Longsilog (sausage made from ground pork and spices). If there's one thing that unites us Filipinos it's our unparalleled passion for food. And when it comes to breakfast 'silog' reigns supreme. Pistahan is a cozy spot to indulge in traditional flavors when you're in the mood for a culinary journey to the Philippines. Located in the Manor Shopping Center in San Leandro. The employees were friendly and welcoming exhibiting that Filipino hospitality. Review #3870

Food is now 29.99 for the weekend buffets. We went early on a Saturday morning and each dish was filled to the brim. Food was freshly made with plenty of options. This is very homey filipino food and a must try when you are in San Leandro

My family wanted to try this new Filipino buffet so here we are. The food is served buffet style, so you line up and grab your plate it fix it up yourself. They have decent variety of options my favorites were the lechon kawali and the caldereta. The Kare Kare was good too, but I was kinda disappointed that there was no oxtail. For desserts, the bilo bilo was the highlight. The restaurant is kinda small and it gets packed pretty quickly so I suggest coming early. On the bright side, parking here is pretty abundant, so that's nice. Try it out if you like. :)

We were here to have an early celebration. My family has wanted to bring me here to try out the Filipino food. I don't particularly seek out Filipino food when I eat out as it's hard to compete with my mom's cooking. In short, I feel like it may have been an off day as my family has told me it's been better in the past. But service was stellar and it's a good way to try out a variety of Filipino food all in one go, but that comes at a price. L O C A T I O N Pistahan is kind of a little in the middle of nowhere in San Leandro, so just follow your navigation assistant. It's in a small plaza with green buildings that has a large parking lot. We easily found a spot near the restaurant. I N S I D E A very spacious inside with a bunch of tables. The buffet area in the back with the bar to the right. There's also booths to sit in. B U F F E T You basically come in and you don't have to do the buffet, but if you do, you pay at the counter and then basically pick out a table. Plenty of seating when we arrived at 11am on a Sunday. Note you don't have to do the buffet, you can do a la carte and just order off the menu. But we were specifically here for the buffet. According to my brother, it was about $30 a person. Eep. I should've eaten more but I just couldn't as I was so stuffed from the full sampler plate I got. For drinks you can order, but what's in the buffet is coffee and water. This was the spread: Fried area under heat lamps: ~ Lechon belly ~ Pork sisig ~ Shrimp tempura ~ Fried Chicken ~ Lumpiang Shanghai ~ Fried Bangus In long warming trays: ~ Bistek ~ Grilled Pork Belly ~ Menudo ~ Beef Kalderata ~ Pancit Malabon ~ Pancit Bihon ~ Pinakbet ~ Chop Suey ~ Beef Kare Kare ~ Longganisa ~ Dinuguan ~ Pork Sinigang Dessert: ~ Ginataang Bilo Bilo ~ Ube Cake So let's do the "not so great" before I go into the good. Unfortunately all the crispy items that should be crispy (with the exception of the lechon) were not crispy and not warm or hot at all. Actually most of the other items were just kind of warm. The grilled pork belly had the thick skin which was very leathery, tough, and chewy. I kind of wish they took it off. The beef in the kare kare was also tough. A lot of the fried meat was quite dry. A lot of the dishes were very oily though that's really normal for the cuts of meat used in these dishes, just be forewarned if you're not into oily food. The desserts were a bit sweet for me but they were quite tasty. Now onto the good. The kare kare flavor was actually quite good and rich. The sinigang was deliciously sour. The menudo sang with this savory and sweetness. The dinuguan is a version that I actually enjoyed eating. The pancit malabon with lemon was very satisfying. Also really happy that they had some kind of coffee as we didn't have any breakfast or anything to eat prior to coming to save room for all the buffet food. S E R V I C E They are quite good about clearing up plates and are quite friendly, kind, and attentive. That itself bumps up the rating! O V E R A L L As mentioned, perhaps it was just an off day and/or we came at the wrong time. I again don't particularly crave Filipino food and I do have a sensitivity to garlic (trust me I was quite bloated and suffered, but I knew what I was getting into), but it's a good way to experience it if you've never had it as it covers a variety of items that are typical of the cuisine. The service was the best part of the whole experience as they do treat you like you're part of the family coming back home to be fed. Do try them out if you're ever in the area! And come hungry!

I coordinated a Kamayan dinner with friends last Saturday for our 'friendsgivingmas' and ordered some food from here, per our friends' recommendations (and our friends hosted). Everyone kept raving about how tasty everything was! We ordered a half tray of the lumpia (of course), half tray of the salt and pepper shrimp, half tray of the lechon kawali, 12 sticks of pork bbq, 24 pieces of longanisa, and pancit bihon & canton (we had separate small plates for this). Total came out to about $25/person for 17 adults, which is not bad at all! Pistahan unfortunately does not have a website, so I suggest calling to inquire for prices. Overall, our Kamayan dinner was a hit and would definitely order from here again!

My colleague recommended this spot for breakfast especially since they do brunch buffet. Here was my experience. AMBIANCE: Parking: Plaza parking. I didn't really have any issues so it was cool. Seating: Inside seating good for small or large groups. There's room for maybe about 50 people. Vibes: Welcome to San Leandro! Nothing too flashy here just good neighborly houses and plazas with good eateries and small businesses. In this area there are some good eating spots, everyday errand spots, and a gym. The spot itself is nice. It has some nice Filipino decorations. The tvs kept me busy and I'm sure it keeps the locals busy catching a game. I enjoyed the background music of Filipino renditioning pop songs in the background.Great place to eat with family or a simple Filipino food adventure. FOOD: Brunch Buffet (Recommend) Oooooi! Where do we begin? Pancit (noodles) were comforting, rice was soft, longanisa was sweet, bangus was good, lumpias had a good crunch, mechado, kare kare, chicken adobo and the diniguan were comforting and finally the lechon was served fresh - that crispy skin is a treat! Sinigang Soup (Recommend) Delicious! A good amount tamarind (sweet/sour) taste to it. The vegetables were fulfilling and the pork had a good balance of meat and fat. A comforting dish regardless of the weather. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Tita Vicky was great! She left a simple yet friendly impression. TL; DR OVERALL: 4.5 Stars. Fantastic! Great selections, delicious food, reasonable price, and a pleasant experience. I enjoyed dining here and look forward to coming here again, especially for their buffet (a bang for your buck). For those in the area and looking for Filipino food, this is the spot! #FilipinoFoodMovement #RepresentASIAN TIPS: * Pistahan means festival * In the case you don't want to do buffet, you can order from the menu.

    Buffet spread!

Run don't walk!!! lol Filipino buffet available on weekends - $26.99 each. I almost want to keep this a secret selfishly lol but I also want this restaurant to thrive and spread the good word! Gotta support my Filipino peeps- cuz I'm half Filipino lol. They had a delicious buffet spread. Most everything was super tasty but the standouts for me were the beef kare-kare- which is a beef stew with peanut butter sauce (sounds weird but is so good), menudo, and bistek (Filipino beef steak and onions). We loved the variety and being able to try a bit of everything. They had lots of options but I'll attempt to mention a few! Lechon crispy pork belly, shrimp tempura, pork sisig, ginitaang manok (coconut chicken), pancit, palabok, and pinakbet. Service was very friendly. Someone came around to collect plates to clear up your table as you get multiple rounds of food! Utensils and water available on the side to help yourself. There's also a desert table with coffee. For some reason, arroz caldo was also on that table which is like a chicken and rice porridge with ginger. We got lucky and walked in on a Sunday around 11:50am. You can also reserve on Google/Yelp in advance. They have booth tables and normal tables, a fair amount of seating. I liked the Christmas parol decorations, which are Filipino Christmas lanterns. They had some authentic Filipino feel paintings on the wall of like Mount Mayon lol which is a volcano in the Philippines. Overall highly recommend a visit. I want to come back and try their other food that wasn't available on the buffet.

My family likes going to buffets. We found this one and decided to give it a try. I read this place is known for their lechon and kare kare. I was excited to taste the kare kare but Found out they don't make it with oxtail. It still tastes ok but I prefer when it is made with oxtail. The lechon was crispy and I like how it was already cut up and ready to grab on small plates. I like the buffet style where you serve yourself. My other favorites were the pork sinigang and fried fish. for dessert they had bilo bilo and some kind of ube cake that was kind of like a brownie texture. The service was good. Plates were picked up quickly. I wish halo halo was part of the buffet.

    And you call this caldereta?

The grill was as big as it could be, for the size of the restaurant. But I could imagine when its busy it would take a while to get space on the grill. Luckily when I went this weekend, it wasn't busy and we had a lot of grill space to cook our food quickly. Was impressed by the chicken isaw! It wasn't bitter so you know it was clean. I'm gonna check with my NorCal moots about this but sucks if that's true. I was going to comment on how this is one of few bastions of affordable, slightly more unique food in the bay area, but I guess that's not the case. I'm spoiled by having a Dollar Hits in SoCal literally down the street from me so I can't say this place compares, but it's at least an option for NorCal, you know? This definitely used to be another restaurant, but then retrofitted to be a grill. Super large grill in the middle for everyone to communally cook at indoors. This is a good combination between the outdoors grill it yourself and the indoors seating of both the SoCal Dollar Hits, so I thought that was nice. They have all the classics here, isaw (sometimes Dollar Hits doesn't have this unless you request -it's chicken intestines), large intestines, chicken skin, kwek kwek (battered quail eggs), and Tender Juicy bright red filipino hot dogs (a must). You can also order a side of rice and the sauces were self serve (made it a bit sticky). It gets a bit smoky in there even with the fans, but overall had an enjoyable time the time when I did visit.

OMG. This is definitely one of those hole-in-the-wall places that completely surprises you…read more We came here because our friend Warren recommended it, and now I understand why. It's tucked away in Oakland in a spot you might easily drive past without noticing. The setup is simple: order at the window, get a vibrating pager, then pick up your food when it's ready. They also have outdoor seating, which is perfect if you're bringing your dog along. They offer all kinds of silog meals, and honestly, before coming here, I thought all silog places were pretty much the same. While standing in line, I had no clue what to order. The special that day was the G Fire Short Ribs, and I kept going back and forth between trying something new or playing it safe. I ended up getting the pork tocino silog, and for the second dish, I almost ordered the spare short ribs. Thank God I got the G Fire Wings instead. OMG. OMG. OMG. These are hands down the BEST wings I've had in the Bay Area. The skin is crispy and crunchy, but the moment you bite in, the meat is unbelievably juicy. Seriously, when do you ever get wings that are actually juicy? Most wings are dry. Not these. The flavor, the sauce, the seasoning--everything is absolutely incredible. It's the kind of food that makes you lick every finger afterward. If it were socially acceptable to eat the bones too, I probably would have. And here's the funny thing: while I was in line, it seemed like everyone ordering was getting the G Fire Wings. Now I know why. If this place were closer to where I live, I'd be here all the time. I'm still thinking about those wings days later. The good news is we go to Oakland at least once a month for hiking and camping, and now Lucky Three Seven is officially part of the tradition. It'll either be our reward after finishing a hike or our stop before heading to camp. Thank you, Warren, for recommending this place. You absolutely nailed it. We ordered the chicken adobo plate, G-Fire wings, and pork lumpia. The wings were off the chart: hearty crunch on the outside and tender meat on the inside. The steamed rice was slightly overdone in the way you don't mind when the entree is saucy. But the chicken adobo unfortunately had dried out in away that no sauce can save. Alas. Lumpia and wings are the perfect food to eat throughout the day. Thank you, Alex! I hope Lumpia Company is around for a long time. p.s. I know this place is called Lumpia Company but their wings are must try. Highly underrated!

I worked with Alex to coordinate the menu and delivery, and communication was great throughout the planning process. I paid the invoice in full (over $660), but after payment, all communication stopped. On the day of the party, the food never arrived. Multiple calls, texts, and voicemails went unanswered, leaving us scrambling to order pizza for roughly 50 guests at the last minute. A couple of days later, I was finally able to get in touch with Alex. He apologized, issued a full refund, and also offered a gift card to make up for the situation. I appreciated the apology and the refund. Unfortunately, despite following up a couple of times, I never received the gift card and communication stopped again. I understand that mistakes can happen, but following through on commitments matters too. This experience was incredibly disappointing.

My friend and I ordered the Pork Adobo, garlic rice , Lechon Kawali, and the Pancit. Every dish was so flavorful! We had the Baby and Junior mango drinks. Both were good The service was attentive and ambiance super chill. Will definitely be coming back! Friend already is planning to bring her out -of-town family when they come to visit early next month. It's a treat to have a Filipino food place that is so good, especially since there is not many around.

Granted, I like when it's very crispy. I do wish the portions were a liiiil bit bigger. The soy sauce sawsawan for this was good too. Kabocha (6/10): The skin of the squash was so tough! I could not bite it. It was like a rock. But the coconut sauce was amazingly savory and rich. Unfortunately, the skin of the kabocha was just too tough to eat and the outer rind should have been removed. Bistek (9/10): The Picanha was a good choice. I enjoyed this contemporary take on bistek! It tasted like an elevated version of bistek, but still embraced tradition. I would definitely order this again! Mango Lemonade (7/10): Nothing too extraordinary, but it was refreshing and did the job. Palawan Sunrise (8/10): Refreshing and not overly sweet! We went around 6PM on a Sunday, and it was a small and relaxed space with beautiful Filipino inspired decor. Service was wonderful! Liliana checked on us frequently and made sure that our allergies were taken care of! Thanks, Liliana!

The staff was friendly and the food came out fairly quickly. We ordered Sinigang Wings, Tosilog Burrito, the Sisig Burrito, the Calamansi-Ginger Limeade, and the Pandan Iced Tea. The Sinigang wings were good, but could use a bit more Sinigang flavor. The dipping sauce was sooooo good though. I loved the Tosilog burrito, because I am truly the biggest tocino lover. My boyfriend liked his sisig burrito, but wished the flavors were a little more filipino forward. The Calamansi-Ginger Limeade was sooooo delicious and refreshing, but I would not get the Pandan Iced tea again. Overall, I will definitely be back! I thought the food was really good, and such a fun way to enjoy some filipino fusion flavors.

A friend of mine really wanted to check out the Rapper Artist P-Lo inspired Burrito that consists of their classic burrito topped with Sweet Longaniza, a fried egg, and their savory Stunna Sauce (fiery habenero salsa).
