I had seen reviews and they made me curious about Thai & Lao food served in this bowling alley. They also serve traditional bowling alley fare as well. But for the adventure I need to find out for myself for all the hype. I narrowed down my order to Pad See Ew Chicken and Thai Ice Tea. I made it to a "to go" order. It was packaged well. Having it a home was probably choice than the bowling alley for obvious reasons. I wanted to be overwhelmed by the food but found it to less than I can get at local Thai restaurants in town. I guess I had high hopes. The Thai ice tea is what you ordinarily expect. Also, the dish prices are slightly higher than those in town. So if you're bowling and crave for Thai & Lao food look no further.

My family and I came by not really expecting much from this place. We were excited to try some of the lao dishes we grew up with and were pleasantly surprised with quick service, good food, and a fun environment. We ordered the angel wings, beef jerky, lao sausage, papaya, and khao piek. All were made fresh and quick. A solid pick if you want to impress some friends with well made lao food from a small cafe in the back of a bowling alley. Would definitely revisit this place!

If you're craving lao food and don't want to venture to far out of the Hayward/Castro valley area, this spot is hidden inside the Castro valley bowling alley. Got the Lao sausage 7.5/10 Papaya salad 8/10 Really enjoyed my meal

Deep Fried Spare Rib with Special Sauce My FAVORITE dish. I order it to go usually after I am done bowling as I need some good food to absorb all the alcohol I consumed. I can't tell you how much I love this dish. I look forward to taking it home every time I bowl. Other things I've tried and love: CHICKEN WING EGG ROLLS LADY FINGERS BEEF SALAD FRIED WONTONS LAO SAUSAGE PAPAYA SALAD Try the Asian menu. You will not be disappointed.

I love all places that have a theme that sets them apart from other establishments. Especially ones that have names for their menu items that are jovial. There's ample seating and the place is fun inside, with comic books on the walls, toys displayed and bright colors everywhere it really gives a burst of dopamine when you come in. We were greeted initially by the gentleman at the counter. He was super friendly and asked if we had any questions. Idk bout yall but when we go somewhere and the person refers to you as "boss" you can kinda feel the vibe that you're gonna get good service. And it was exactly spot on. The dude helped us with questions we had and after ordering let us know he'd bring our food to us. We waited a couple mins and our food came out! Initially my first thought was "damn, they're not stingy with their portions here!" We opted for the Goku fries and a regular Deadpool sandwich. It being our first time we wanted to try different flavors. BRUH, that food smacked SO HARD! We slammed everything and kept saying, wow this is good. The ingredients were fresh, the green sauce (whatever it is) was delicious on our sandwich! We will for sure be back & tell all of our friends about this place!

We tried the Ed Edd and Eddy and the Mr. Burns. Both were really good on Dutch crunch. We also customized our sandwiches by adding pickles, banana peppers and onions. I believe the sandwich comes with the standard lettuce and tomato. Easy place to grab a solid sandwich in my opinion. Can't go wrong with any of them. We'll be back to try their fries and other sandwiches.

Stopped here real fast to grab lunch while at work and was not disappointed. Fresh bread. Fresh veggies. Right amount of cheese. Generous meat. Neatly packaged. Great staff. We noticed two self-service ordering kiosks to the right but decided to check out the menu board and salad case first. When we were done, the cashier asked if she could take our order. That's always my preference over poking buttons on a impersonal screen. We placed our order, paid, and stood aside to wait. My name was called when our order was ready. It was bagged and ready to go. We thanked the cashier and went home. Normally, I'm not a sandwich guy. Today, after working outside in the sun, I was hungry and had a craving for something filling and cold. Macaroni Salad was on my mind. I looked that up on Yelp and Bara's was reasonably close. I also saw a Shrimp Salad that looked pretty good online. When we arrived home, I proceeded to take pictures of our meal. Sigh. Instead of Macaroni Salad, we got Potato Salad. Not quite the same. A quick peek at my receipt and I saw that the wrong key must have been pressed. I should have checked my receipt after I paid. The cashier should have repeated the order before sending it. The Potato Salad didn't satisfy my craving for Macaroni Salad, but I wasn't about to drive back to exchange it. The flavor was unique though, in that it had a cheesy flavor. The Shrimp Salad was not good. Flavor wise, it was okay with a little bit of heat. But texture wise, it was a mess. If Shrimp was supposed to be cooked for two minutes and then dropped into an ice bath, these had been cooked for four minutes and not iced. They were cooked to death. I got a Bay Area Special with Swiss. It was okay. A ton of meat, not so much on the veg. I would prefer more balance. But overall, it was pretty good. She got The Gobbler. She also felt that the meat overwhelmed the veg. Additionally, the cranberry sauce was overwhelmed by the cream cheese. We came, we saw, we ate. It'll be a long while before I go after another sandwich.

The cheese is rich, smooth, and perfectly melted, coating every piece of pasta without being too heavy or greasy. It's that balance a lot of places miss: creamy without feeling overwhelming. The texture is where it really stands out. The noodles are cooked just right not too soft, not too firm so every bite has that perfect consistency. And if there's a baked top layer, it adds that slight crisp that contrasts the creaminess underneath, making it even better. Flavor-wise, it's deep. You can taste the blend of cheeses instead of just one basic note. It's savory, slightly sharp, and comforting at the same time. It's the kind of dish that doesn't need extras to prove itself it already stands strong on its own. What really makes it memorable though is how it feels like more than just food. It's the type of mac and cheese that reminds you why simple dishes matter when they're done right. It's warm, satisfying, and leaves you thinking about it even after you're done. I'd return for the soft-shelled crab burger and clam chowder and make small mods at home. 4 tables for dine-in but most orders were for take out. Private lot parking.

Just an excellent place to be!…read more A friend had heard rave reviews about their authentic Argentinian empanadas and we were so happy to come and try it out on a Saturday afternoon. Parking was busy (the lot is shared with Trader Joe's) but we managed to find a spot and head into the busy but not packed cafe. There is a large assortment of empanadas, from meat options like chorizo and chicken, to vegetarian like corn and onion, to sweet options too like apples. The menu also boasts lots of great drinks including mate tea! Lucky us, the empanadas we ordered weren't in stock so we had to wait ~10 for freshly baked ones. They came out buttery and piping hot, even with little hand-stamped letters on them so you know what you're eating, and it was so delicious. Most are about $5.50 each. Add oregano chimichurri for a bit extra if you want or pair with a tea, but these empanadas really hit the snacky spot. Lots of wooden tables with fresh flowers make Pampas a great space to chat with friends or to sit and do some work. The most standout feature was the friendly and efficient staff who seem to build connections with everybody who walks in the door. Worth a drive to Castro Valley! Especially if you bring cash for a 10% discount off a dozen :)
