Crave Subs is a fun little sandwich spot with a comic book theme. All the sandwiches are named after cartoon characters, which makes the menu pretty cool. We tried the Ed Edd and Eddy and the Mr. Burns. Both were really good on Dutch crunch. We also customized our sandwiches by adding pickles, banana peppers and onions. I believe the sandwich comes with the standard lettuce and tomato. Easy place to grab a solid sandwich in my opinion. Can't go wrong with any of them. I was in the area to go to a coffee shop in the same plaza and stumbled across crave subs. I been wanting to try this place for a while and glad it was here! The fries were really good. The sandwich was good too but I'm not the biggest fan of sweet sauces on a sandwich. Which is why I give the place 4 stars. It's personal preference. Been wanting to try this place since i saw it randomly one day getting coffee a couple doors over. What intrigued me was the eye catching theme of a fun comic book/ toy / cartoon vibe. I love all places that have a theme that sets them apart from other establishments. Especially ones that have names for their menu items that are jovial. There's ample seating and the place is fun inside, with comic books on the walls, toys displayed and bright colors everywhere it really gives a burst of dopamine when you come in. We were greeted initially by the gentleman at the counter. He was super friendly and asked if we had any questions. Idk bout yall but when we go somewhere and the person refers to you as "boss" you can kinda feel the vibe that you're gonna get good service. And it was exactly spot on. The dude helped us with questions we had and after ordering let us know he'd bring our food to us. We waited a couple mins and our food came out! Crave subs is great! I was craving a turkey sandwich and searched Yelp for a sandwich shop close by. Crave subs turned out to be bit out of the way however it proved well worth the drive. I ordered a Buzz Lightyear turkey sandwich and my granddaughter ordered Vegeta Fries to take-out. My sandwich was delicious and all of its makings totally fresh. Both came with grilled chicken, and while the portions were good, the chicken itself could have used a bit more seasoning. The Dutch crunch bread had a softer, milder flavor compared to what I'm used to at places like Bara's Deli or Ike's, but the sandwich combinations were still fun and creative. The customer service stood out almost immediately! As soon as you walk through the door, there's a 6ft guy behind the register with a huge smile that greets you. The menu selection is simple and it gives you all ingredients included in your sandwich or specialty fries - ( if you go on a weekend). I got my sandwich with extra aioli. The meat portions were enough to make another sandwich if you wanted to. And it had so much flavor. My only regret is not getting a bigger one! Oh, did I mention the meat is Halal?! Had Crave Subs for lunch and everything hit the spot. I ordered the Mr. Incredible, 12 inch on Dutch crunch with fries, and a mini Patrick Star sandwich. I asked for my sandwich to be cored and they did it perfectly. The Crave sauce, a sweet and creamy garlic sauce with a hint of jalapeno flavor, was a fantastic match with the savory pastrami, fresh lettuce and tomato, and that perfectly crisp but not too hard Dutch crunch bread. The Patrick Star was also a winner with crispy juicy chicken strips, Crave sauce, and melted pepper jack cheese. We placed our order through Yelp for pickup, so we didn't interact much with the staff, but they made sure our full order was complete. We also got two cookies, chocolate chip and Dubai chocolate, along with curly fries and jalapeno chips. Both cookies were excellent. This spot is a great choice for sandwiches if you're in the area. I have been wanting to try this place for a while now and we finally remembered we wanted to try it. Came here with the family. We got the Patrick Star, the Barney, the kid's chicken tenders and an order of curly fries. The sandwich was just okay nothing to write home about. I didn't really taste anything Korean BBQ about it. The Barney was okay, I think more meat would have been good. The chicken tenders were whatever; pretty good size for a teenie bopper appetite. The curly fries were good. Overall, it was just meh. The appeal I think is because they're halal and maybe they cook/fry the chicken fresh?? Not really sure on the freshness. The fries fo sho were frozen. The decor of superheroes I guess is interesting, but it just felt cluttered. The place just reminded me of a mix of hippie's brew and Ike's sandwiches. Gimmicky named sandwiches, but it felt like the same sandwich with a different sauces. Plus it takes about 30 mins for your order to come out. They have a lot of online orders so that could be it too?? Overall, if in the area maybe stop by. Their parking is a little confusing. The sandwhiches are ok at best and the fact that I paid 54 dollars for the 2 smallest sandwhiches ive ever received in the bay area has left a bad taste in my mouth. 54 dollars and it feels more like a snack than a meal. Okay after seeing this place going viral many times on social media, we HAD to try it. & let me tell you, we were NOT disappointed! Make sure you order online as the order takes up to half an hour to be ready. But we got the Patrick Star & it was sooo good! EXTREMELY filling & that crave sauce it just so tasty. The french fries were okay, but you really go for the sandwiches. We were sharing so we got the biggest size. It was about $30 so keep that in mind, but each half is Huuhe & it's way more than filling. The staff was extremely nice, the location was kinda hidden around some warehouses but that just means it's a more lowkey spot that you don't have to struggle with! Naturally, I couldn't miss the grand opening, and I'm delighted to share that it exceeded all my expectations and i've been a loyal customer ever since! They have been open for about a year now... The quality of the food and the service is always outstanding. Among the various combos I tried, the pastrami sandwich stood out the most. It had just the right amount of heat, and the Dutch crunch bread held all the flavors together perfectly. I also appreciated some of their vegan chicken options! I came here on Friday, April 18th around 5:30 p.m. and ordered the $20 Vegan Stormfly sandwich with regular red onions and sourdough at the Hayward location. I've been here once before and had a great experience, but this time was completely disappointing. The sandwich was basically just bread. One half had no filling at all, and the other had a tiny sliver of protein--barely anything. For $20, I expected a quality, balanced sandwich. It felt like I was eating a bread sandwich, and it was honestly unacceptable. It was so bad it made me not want to come back. Also, do not eat in person here. Nothing is accessible to customers. You have to ask for every single thing--napkins, ketchup, utensils, everything. There are no condiments or basic necessities available, which makes it super inconvenient if you're dining in. I love that they have vegan sandwiches. Not just one, but several. I ordered online and picked up. It's only a 2 minute drive from my office. There is a small parking lot, but fills up quick as there are at least 3 other restaurants in that area. My food was ready when I arrived. The guy at the front greeted me and gave me my order. They have several seats available for dine in, but I took mine to go. I ordered a vegan sandwich, the Shrek on a dutch crunch. I love that the bread isn't too bready, it was perfect and just enough crunch. It's a very messy sandwich. It fell apart while I was eating it and I really hate messy sandwiches, but it was really tasty that I really didn't mind. Will definitely have to come back and try the other vegan sandwiches. I recently tried the Ed Edd n Eddy from Crave in Hayward and overall had a good experience. The sandwich is hefty. Full of layers of meats and cheese, all on their signature Dutch crunch bread. The crunch is crisp, and the interior pairing of flavors (turkey, pastrami, salami, provolone, etc.) brings decent balance without one element totally overpowering the others (as advertised in their menu). What worked well: The bread-to-filling ratio is well done. You get a satisfying bite without it falling apart. The "Crave sauce" was a highlight: creamy with a little zing, tying the meats and veggies together. Service was friendly and efficient . The staff seemed to take care to assemble it cleanly (I asked to have it cored, and they did so nicely). The sandwich can get messy -- lots of sauce and layers mean it leaks a bit, so napkins are a must. One or two bites felt like the salami or pastrami overwhelmed the subtler flavors (i.e. turkey), so in spots the balance wobbled. At peak times, seating is tight and the space feels a bit cramped. Overall, it's a great choice if you're craving something bold and filling. I'd order it again, maybe with a slight tweak (ask for "light on salami" or extra sauce on one side). read more

Decided to stop by today to try out one of their vegan sandwiches. When I walked in the place was empty. Since it is a holiday weekend I was not expecting the place to be busy at all. Which turned out to be a good thing, in my favor since I was really hungry and I didn't have to wait no more than 1 minute to place my order. There were two staff members behind the counter and a gentlemen, which I later found out was the owner, sitting at a table I'm assuming crunching numbers. The young man that took my order was professional and polite. He seems to be new employee since he was asking "Sonny" a few questions on how to, when assisting another customer that walked in as I was eating. I came for their vegan Goku sandwich. I ordered their regular size sandwich on a wheat bread, which turned out to be really good. They're barbecue sauce gave it a nice flavor. They also use their special sauce which I have yet to find out what it is. I also added red onion & jalapenos to my Sammie! The four stars are mainly for the price of the sandwiches. The large is $20 for a vegan Goku sandwich & that maybe thier cheapest vegan sandwich. Which granted it's pretty big but nevertheless a bit pricey in my opinion. Also, all the tables seemed greasey and not cleaned which threw me off a little since like I said it was not busy at all. I decided to come here because I want to explore all the places near my job. I ended up ordered the Patrick Star. I ordered it and through 18 was pretty steep for a large sandwich. I was hella wrong, it was hefty like a new born baby. It reminded me of little luccas. For the price, it's better than the other popular place. The place is decorated with comic book characters and theres hella seating. Everything was fairly clean and it felt nice to be in there. Decided to give it a try and 10/10 sooooo good. I got the tom & Jerry on Dutch crunch. It reminded me of the ménage trois from Ike's but soooo much better. The Dutch crunch was fresh- soft on the inside with a crunch texture on the outside, like how it's suppose to be. I like how they have mini (4inch) subs sizes. It was perfect for me and my 11 yr old son. Also the option to make the sub a 12inch sandwich was really nice, my husband did the upgrade and it was huge!
