Lavender tea latte (lavender chai)
Ruth O.

This time we tried the breakfast plate which is a newer (not new but new since they opened like a decade ago lol) item. There was a significant amount of food for the price, with perfectly cooked potatoes and really good pieces of beef gyros grilled to perfection. The sauce they put on top was flavorful but soooo spicy. I'm ok with some spice but this was more than expected, it was painful. The person I was with agreed that it tasted really good and he also wished it was just slightly less spicy so we could appreciate the flavor more. As always cafe rumi is polite about my service dog and they get the food and drink to you quickly. Yum!

I seldom am in the area, but the last two times I have stopped at this cafe. It is a quality stop...good service good coffee and a good and clean WC. Though I have not eaten anything the menu looks good and the food others were eating looked to be tasty. And parking is a breeze.

Pink Chai Lattè

I had the Pink Chai at this café and I'm still thinking about it. It was hands down one of the best specialty drinks I've had in a long time. The flavor was rich and creamy with the perfect level of sweetness, and the spices were smooth and well balanced nothing overpowering, just pure comfort in a cup.

I loved Cafe Rumi! From the quick and great service to the tasty food/drinks, this is the perfect lunch spot whether you want to dine in or are on the go. I ordered their popular pink chai latte (iced) and it definitely lived up to the hype - it wasn't too sweet and it was super tasty! Only thing is there is no spice flavor like you normally find in a traditional chai latte. I also ordered the beef & lamb gyro with their green and yogurt side sauces - all amazingly delicious and a great portion given. I highly recommend trying this place out and supporting this lovely business!

A delicious lunch :)

A cute little Turkish cafe, with good drinks and good food. Perfect for a quick bite, or a place to do work/study. The lady behind the counter was nice and informative in explaining the menu items. The Turkish coffee was good, and the pink chai is nothing like I've had before. Definitly not spiced like I've had before, it's almost like drinking a lightly sweetened red velvet tea if that makes sense. The gyro looked delicious, nice and loaded!! I loved being able to get the combo platter with chicken and the lamb/beef. All of the meat was delicious, it comes over a bed of rice, naan, and a side salad. I really liked the white sauce and the green sauce! I think the white sauce was a tzatziki and the green one was a jalapeño lemon? It paired well with meat over rice. It is in a little plaza and parking was not bad at all, be sure to stop by to try something out of your comfort zone! :) ask for recommendations and don't be shy!

(1 out of 5) Sigh... I'm not big on giving low reviews but I'm not gonna lie, the food here was awful. The kebab was flavorless, dry, all around not good, the borani banjan wasn't good either, tasted like the cook didn't know what they were making. I've heard good things about their drinks but this is a food review. Service was exceptional, and ambiance is nice. Rothyy.

Have you ever tasted something so delicious that you literally start doing an inner dance?!…read more We recently had Gotta Eatta Pita catered for a team meeting. We all enjoyed it! I noticed that this location was conveniently located in Pleasanton and couldn't wait to pick some up for a large dinner gathering. There was plenty of parking. The platter is great- you get to choose your sides and meat or falafel. I chose the chicken. Came with fresh pita bread and the most amazing melt-in-your-mouth hummus!! Picked up some extras and some yogurt sauce. The young man who helped me was very patient and friendly. The restaurant was easy to find, clean and lively. I am so glad to have visited!

I didn't typically go for middle eastern food. It can be bland. I thought the reviews were decent so I thought it was okay to try. Boy do I regret it. For this being similar to a chipotle the prices are OUTRAGEOUS. I could have gotten a pasta dish at an expensive restaurant for just a few more dollars. I got the 50/50 bowl with falafel and chicken. Couscous as my base, light greens, Tabbouleh, cucumber dill salad, cabbage, eggplant, tzatziki sauce, hummus and pickles. It was extra for Feta and olives which I opted out of. It was $18.86. The falafel was good. It has a strong citrus and cilantro flavor which paired well with the tzatziki sauce. The eggplant, the cabbage, the Tabbouleh, the cucumber salad all desperately needed flavor. Everything was so bland. A pinch of salt and lemon would have made the world of difference. I just couldn't taste anything besides plain bland vegetables and garlic. The falafel paired well with these components but bc it was a 50/50 bowl I only received 3. The chicken was terrible. No flavor at all. The issue is that bc I didn't opt for the ridiculously expensive add ons, which would have made this a $22 meal, the meal was BLAND. The chicken DESPERATELY needs the salty olives and feta. However for fast food that comes in a bowl I just could not justify paying extra for something and it's even more appalling that the dish NEEDS the add-ons. I'm from out of town (Tucson, AZ). I understand that the influence of local culture is going to impact ethnic cuisine. Maybe people in this area don't like seasonings or spice or salt. Either way, this was a terrible waste of $18. If you're someone who likes balanced nuanced flavors, this is not the place to go. If you know you like this kind of food, I'm still not sure this is the place to go.

Baklava is one of my favorite desserts, but the flaky pastry portion was pretty tough and hard, and came straight off the pistachio layer. The chicken pieces in the wrap were nice and chunky, that was the best part of it. Usually Doordash orders would at least include utensils and napkins in the bag it's delivered in. Plus, I was craving Persian food, specifically a solid kubideh. Their reviews were good, but their kubideh and chicken plate was over $20+. Persian food is usually on the pricier side, but spending that much on a lunch plate feels excessive. So, I went with the kubideh wrap for $13 which price-wise was more palatable. It came with a side salad and seemed like a good value. It took a little longer than expected, which was fine. But the flavor wasn't there, and I was hoping for the depth of flavor I get from South Bay favorites like Yas in SJ. I unwrapped the whole thing just to taste the kubideh on its own, but it was bland. Like plain ground beef. I had to use the salt and pepper from my utensils packet to give it something, unfortunately. On the bright side, the salad, a Persian-style cucumber and tomato mix, was excellent. The lavash was soft and fresh, and the other ingredients were solid. But the kubideh, the star of the show, was underseasoned. For me, kubideh is the test of a Persian spot. If that's lacking, I'm not coming back. Maybe they had an off day, but based on what I had, it just didn't hit.
