    Lavender tea latte (lavender chai)

This time we tried the breakfast plate which is a newer (not new but new since they opened like a decade ago lol) item. There was a significant amount of food for the price, with perfectly cooked potatoes and really good pieces of beef gyros grilled to perfection. The sauce they put on top was flavorful but soooo spicy. I'm ok with some spice but this was more than expected, it was painful. The person I was with agreed that it tasted really good and he also wished it was just slightly less spicy so we could appreciate the flavor more. As always cafe rumi is polite about my service dog and they get the food and drink to you quickly. Yum!

I seldom am in the area, but the last two times I have stopped at this cafe. It is a quality stop...good service good coffee and a good and clean WC. Though I have not eaten anything the menu looks good and the food others were eating looked to be tasty. And parking is a breeze.

I had the Pink Chai at this café and I'm still thinking about it. It was hands down one of the best specialty drinks I've had in a long time. The flavor was rich and creamy with the perfect level of sweetness, and the spices were smooth and well balanced nothing overpowering, just pure comfort in a cup.

I loved Cafe Rumi! From the quick and great service to the tasty food/drinks, this is the perfect lunch spot whether you want to dine in or are on the go. I ordered their popular pink chai latte (iced) and it definitely lived up to the hype - it wasn't too sweet and it was super tasty! Only thing is there is no spice flavor like you normally find in a traditional chai latte. I also ordered the beef & lamb gyro with their green and yogurt side sauces - all amazingly delicious and a great portion given. I highly recommend trying this place out and supporting this lovely business!

(1 out of 5) Sigh... I'm not big on giving low reviews but I'm not gonna lie, the food here was awful. The kebab was flavorless, dry, all around not good, the borani banjan wasn't good either, tasted like the cook didn't know what they were making. I've heard good things about their drinks but this is a food review. Service was exceptional, and ambiance is nice. Rothyy.

    A delicious lunch :)

A cute little Turkish cafe, with good drinks and good food. Perfect for a quick bite, or a place to do work/study. The lady behind the counter was nice and informative in explaining the menu items. The Turkish coffee was good, and the pink chai is nothing like I've had before. Definitly not spiced like I've had before, it's almost like drinking a lightly sweetened red velvet tea if that makes sense. The gyro looked delicious, nice and loaded!! I loved being able to get the combo platter with chicken and the lamb/beef. All of the meat was delicious, it comes over a bed of rice, naan, and a side salad. I really liked the white sauce and the green sauce! I think the white sauce was a tzatziki and the green one was a jalapeño lemon? It paired well with meat over rice. It is in a little plaza and parking was not bad at all, be sure to stop by to try something out of your comfort zone! :) ask for recommendations and don't be shy!

I had been to the church before, but I didn't remember the massive coffee hangout there! It's so spacious and offers plenty of seating. How long has this place been here? I wish it were closer to where I live in San Jose! I could easily imagine sitting in one of the comfortable nooks, studying or grading papers. It's also a fantastic spot to meet up or chat with a group of friends. It was definitely a nice place for a date! When we walked in, there were hardly any available seats, but the line at the counter wasn't long. We found a quiet corner to sit and enjoyed our breakfast. I ordered a hot latte with maple syrup in the name, though I can't recall the exact name. It paired nicely with my pastry. The almond croissant I ordered was delectable, with just the right amount of sweetness and flakiness. My partner enjoyed his cappuccino and savory bacon croissant. We walked up two steps to the restroom and were surprised to find more seats and tables. I wish I had noticed that area when I was looking for a place to sit. Oh well, it was comfortable where we were. The girls should have more playdates with their cousins so we can come here more often. Is it really called a "playdate" when the kids are 12 and 15, and their cousins are between 21 and 30?

The salted maple latte was just ok... sadly it looked better than it tasted. I wasn't a huge fan of their espresso as it left a very sour after taste, even with the sweet maple syrup it wasn't very pleasant. Just an excellent place to be!…read more A friend had heard rave reviews about their authentic Argentinian empanadas and we were so happy to come and try it out on a Saturday afternoon. Parking was busy (the lot is shared with Trader Joe's) but we managed to find a spot and head into the busy but not packed cafe. There is a large assortment of empanadas, from meat options like chorizo and chicken, to vegetarian like corn and onion, to sweet options too like apples. The menu also boasts lots of great drinks including mate tea! Lucky us, the empanadas we ordered weren't in stock so we had to wait ~10 for freshly baked ones. They came out buttery and piping hot, even with little hand-stamped letters on them so you know what you're eating, and it was so delicious. Most are about $5.50 each. Add oregano chimichurri for a bit extra if you want or pair with a tea, but these empanadas really hit the snacky spot. Lots of wooden tables with fresh flowers make Pampas a great space to chat with friends or to sit and do some work. The most standout feature was the friendly and efficient staff who seem to build connections with everybody who walks in the door. Worth a drive to Castro Valley! Also while we were there, an employee was stamping boxes at a table right next to us. It was loud smacking noises that made it hard to converse with each other. I wish the employee would do that in the back or behind the counter. Waffled between three and four stars because there wasn't anything wrong with Pampas and I like to support local. But ultimately the loud smacking noises for the whole time and the fact that I didn't get what was advertised pushed me towards three.

The bakery doesn't have indoor seating, but there are a few tables right outside the front of the store, but it can be a little chilly sitting out front. We had one of the best tasting croissants we've had ever here. The spinach artichoke croissant had a rich cream that balanced with the baked cheese on top. It was huge and had amazing and unique flavors to it. We also tried the brownie, which had chocolate chips and every bite -- though the crust wasn't crispy at the top, it was still a rich brownie. The pistachio latte was very unique and she told us that the pistachios came from the Middle East and were freshly grounded. The latte was very smooth, though on the sweet side, and my partner said he would come back just for the latte. It is very clear that the owner puts a lot of thought, care, and love into her baked goods and drinks. Everything we had was very impressive and we can see why there was a steady stream of customers all morning. However, we did initially come for the cinnamon rolls, and even though it was an hour after the bakery opened, they were all out of cinnamon rolls because someone came and bought them all. That was a little bit disappointing but it does seem like a good bakery like this will sell out pretty quickly. We'll definitely be back!
