This place is such a hidden gem of a mom-and-pop shop! The second I walked in, I was obsessed with the cozy lighting and intimate vibe you can totally tell it's a local favorite. I ordered the vanilla matcha oat milk latte ($12), and WOW... hands down the best $12 I've ever spent on a hot matcha. So smooth, creamy, and flavorful. I also tried the almond croissant--super good, just wish it had a little more filling inside. The customer service was top-tier! The staff was hilarious, engaging, and made the whole experience feel warm and fun. I'll definitely be back!

Came here on a Saturday morning at around 11am to meet up with a friend to do some work. I got an iced honey jasmine milk tea, and a sausage pastry. Total price before tip was $16.45....which I'm not 100% sure if that's a mistake that I got rung up for? I feel like after tax based on the menu prices it should've really been like $13-14 but I was in a rush and didn't notice until I got home. Pros: - really delicious honey jasmine milk tea, I did genuinely love this drink - Other than the weird pricing issue, pretty decent service, the Asian guy running this place seemed pretty nice. - Convenient location near Eden hospital - convenient parking right in front if you're able to get one of the 5 ish spots right in front - Cute vibes inside, lots of cute mugs on display - Wasn't crowded on a Saturday morning. Mostly people coming in and grabbing coffee and leaving right after. Cons: - the weird pricing issue described above, which I've noticed a lot of other Yelpers have highlighted. Overall felt really expensive for everything. - Not a super great place to do work - no outlets anywhere, no public wifi, so just a heads up it's not really a coffee shop conducive to people staying for a long time to do work and hang out Overall, because the honey jasmine milk tea was really good, I'll give it a 3. Everything else was kind of mid so I can't say I'll be back. I'm glad that it seems to be a local thriving business though? A little too pricey for me.

Service was good. Staff was friendly. Place is cute. I like that u can hide here and enjoy a cup of coffee (ironically near a busy street). Will come back to try other items

This place is the worst cofee shop I've ever been to, they list the lates at $6.95 I ordered 4 lattes for me and my family but when I got my bill it was $48 I confronted the owner about the bill he said it was $6.95 for blended coffees and $12.95 per latte + $1.25 per shot extra which didn't make sense because he charged $48 over all a very bad experience. I will report this charge with my bank now. Horrible experience 0 stars

prices are not as advertised! i believe that if you had your actual prices advertised it would be a lot more people just walking out. came here after passing it a few times & wanted to give it a try but clearly that was a mistake. you're charging people twice as much for what you have advertised & god forbid you're lactose intolerant. it's an extra charge for any milk that's not cow milk & if you want your drink iced it starts at $12.95 - $16.95 the coffee is mediocre

Tried this place for the first time today. I was really hoping to find a good local coffee place as I don't enjoy Starbucks or Pete's. The place is very cute and welcoming with local vendor items to purchase. I ordered a dirty chai latte with oat milk and an almond croissant. I was surprised when my total was $18.75. I asked the man to break it down for me. $8.95 was the base price for the second to smallest size chai Latte, $2.95 for the extra espresso shot, $1.25 for oat milk, $4.95 for the almond croissant and .65 for tax. Unfortunately the chai latte was not the style I was looking for, the man kept going on and on about how high quality the chai he gets it's compared to other local coffee shops. I'm sure it is but it's not the creamy style that I prefer. Also the almond croissant was dry. I didn't drink the latte so I wasted my money today unfortunately.

I would have loved to give this place 4 or 5 stars from the first time I went there. However, my second time there it was a hot day and I really didn't want a hot drink so I opted for an iced chai latte with a shot of espresso. There were 2 sizes to choose from. I chose the bigger one and was shocked that it cost in $16.95, I repeat $16.95 that is t a typo. I asked owner if he was sure that was the right price "$16.95" and he said "yes." Never in my life have I paid that much for an iced chia latte with a shot of espresso. I'm just utterly shocked. That a drink cost me as much as a lunch would.

$18.90????? This is a large mocha with whip and ONE shot of espresso.

Just an excellent place to be!…read more A friend had heard rave reviews about their authentic Argentinian empanadas and we were so happy to come and try it out on a Saturday afternoon. Parking was busy (the lot is shared with Trader Joe's) but we managed to find a spot and head into the busy but not packed cafe. There is a large assortment of empanadas, from meat options like chorizo and chicken, to vegetarian like corn and onion, to sweet options too like apples. The menu also boasts lots of great drinks including mate tea! Lucky us, the empanadas we ordered weren't in stock so we had to wait ~10 for freshly baked ones. They came out buttery and piping hot, even with little hand-stamped letters on them so you know what you're eating, and it was so delicious. Most are about $5.50 each. Add oregano chimichurri for a bit extra if you want or pair with a tea, but these empanadas really hit the snacky spot. Lots of wooden tables with fresh flowers make Pampas a great space to chat with friends or to sit and do some work. The most standout feature was the friendly and efficient staff who seem to build connections with everybody who walks in the door. Worth a drive to Castro Valley! Especially if you bring cash for a 10% discount off a dozen :)

Also while we were there, an employee was stamping boxes at a table right next to us. It was loud smacking noises that made it hard to converse with each other. I wish the employee would do that in the back or behind the counter. Waffled between three and four stars because there wasn't anything wrong with Pampas and I like to support local. But ultimately the loud smacking noises for the whole time and the fact that I didn't get what was advertised pushed me towards three.

Not only are you able to purchase from their bakery case, you can also request to have desserts made for special events! (In advance of course.) I very much enjoy their macarons and fresh fruit tarts. They also added Banana Matcha to their menu when it became a craze, and I 10/10 would recommend it. They use high quality matcha powder (Marukyu Koyamaen) for their drinks. This is one of the few things that drew me into their cafe. The baristas are extremely friendly and have a wonderful sense of humor, AND they support small businesses! While you wait for your order, you can browse their shelf full of crystal candies, matcha sets, candles, and they may also have Natsume matcha tins available! (This is not the matcha they use in their drinks, but it's nice to have other options available to buy.) ^^ So if you're in the East Bay and are looking for a business to support, go to Always Yours Bakery Cafe (they're also available on the Too Good To Go app)!
