I was craving a nice hot latte this morning and thought it would be a great opportunity to support a small business. This place stood out because it had a lot of reviews and was close to my house. The cafe itself is small, a bit stuffy inside. There is ample parking on the side which was a plus. There were only three customers inside when I arrived. When I walked in, the first thing I was asked was, "What does your dog need" rather than a hello or good morning. I explained that my dog and I were there to order coffee, and I was told the menu was outside and that she would help me at the door. It wasn't necessarily rude, just an unusual interaction. A sign explaining the dog policy might help avoid this awkward situation/confusion in the future. Unfortunately, the coffee was the biggest disappointment. After waiting about 15 minutes, my latte tasted watered down and lacked flavor. The best way I can describe it is that it tasted like warm cardboard. I don't mind waiting for a quality drink, but this one missed the mark. I ended up going home and adding more coffee and milk to make it drinkable. I genuinely wanted to like this place and was excited to try it, but the coffee was a letdown. If you're stopping by before work, be aware that the wait may be longer than expected. read more

This place is a small cafe near downtown Hayward. The prices are very reasonable and they have a lot of customizations you can do on your breakfast sandwiches. I'd highly recommend any of their coffees. Their coffee ice cubes are a great idea and really help avoid watering down coffees. I will definitely be back to try more. read more

Snappy's? More like crappy's! Customer service was bland, my coffee flavor was good but it was freezing cold, and not on purpose. The tables were dirty. It was hot as hell in there no ventilation. But let's get down to business... my bagel... I know I only asked for a plain bagel with cream cheese but holy moly it was dryer than Arabian desert. I'll post the photo. Not only that but she tried to just put cream cheese only on one side and then smash the two bagels together as if once I opened it back up I'm not going to see it lol. The place has potential. Make the coffee hot please, take that fridge that is in the front and move it to the back it's ugly, put a fan in there please!! It's January and I was sweating. Snappy's is a mom and pop cafe I've always driven by, but never had the chance to stop in until recently. They are known for their Caramel Francis, but I already had my caffeine fix for the day. I primarily came to work, and though there were no other outlets that would accommodate a 3-prong charger except for the one table by the bathroom, I still ordered a cheddar jalapeño bagel with cream cheese. The bagel was good, and the owner came by to drop it off at my table. They sell a bunch of locally crafted knick knacks, empanadas, and local art for sale, and have a variety of table tops and smaller cafe style chairs to choose from. I also saw they do live music nights, which I imagine can get pretty packed since it is a true cafe. Nevertheless, glad to have checked off another spot on my Hayward bucket list! Cozy turtle themed cafe featuring live music around 1pm on a Saturday, the duo performing well-known tunes on the harmonica, resonator guitar, and shakers, as well as vocals. Just a few tables with seating inside but we found a couple open window seats to enjoy some standard beverages, hot tea and iced mocha made just right. I also got a breakfast sandwich with bacon, and it was made fresh and served hot, with lots of fluffy eggs and melted cheese between the soft and airy croissant, and the bacon cooked to a slight crisp with just a bit of fat to add enough flavor. Service was efficient and super friendly, we felt welcome the entire time we were there. I came to the coffee shop to get a medium size coffee. The coffee was very diluted, and not tasty whatsoever. I asked for a medium coffee and a large cup because I like to just add extra creamer to the top. She asked do you want steam milk to go with that. I said sure. My coffee came out to be double the cost and I asked why. She said that a large cup will be extra, and steam milk is an extra $1.50. I was very surprised. When I only asked for for a medium size amount of coffee in a large cup. if she was gonna double charge me the amount of coffee, she could at least let me know that she was going to charge me for a large cup, even though she gave me medium amount of coffee in it, and at least to let me know that steam milk is extra dollar 50. And it was very minimal. And the milk was not good quality as well. read more

Cute little cafe where if your a local you probably have a relationship with the owner/employees based on what we saw while there. Lots of drink options and a few breakfast items on menu. The jalapeño bagel was tasty as was the Raspberry Mocha. My group also tried a chai latte that was a little heavy on the milk and a lavender matcha latte that was tasty but sounded like it wasn't a favorite for my matcha loving friend. Parking was a little confusing since I'm not familiar with the area but there are lots of public lots within 2 blocks if you aren't able to snag a street spot. read more

Snappy's is one of my favorite local businesses. I love how affordable they are and even with low prices they are always QUALITY. My regular order is a small latte but I've tried different flavors, I have also ordered an extra dirty chai. They always come out perfect and the right amount of creamy. April, the owner, is so so sweet. She always greets customers when they walk in and asks about your day. She remembers my order which I love. She also supports the community and other local business which is amazing. She sells local honey, art, and hot sauce for other local vendors. She is also a pick up location for folks who order form Books on B. Snappy's is truly a community hub. The shop is small on the inside. It makes it hard when there are rushes but I also think that it adds to a feeling of intimacy and makes it feel homey. I think the local art adds this effect as well. Wanted to give this local coffee shop a try. Located on a very busy street, it was nice that they had a small parking lot located next door. Once inside, the coffee shop is pretty small and gives off homey vibes. It took sometime for them to get to us but you can tell the coffee is made with care. I love this spot! I've been a customer for about a month now and I try to go here once every week or two. I discovered their dirty chai latte iced - it's so addicting and tastes better than a lot of the iced coffee drinks around the area. The owner April is super friendly and runs the whole spot. She also features local artwork on her walls and sells local products made by local vendors. I tried a few of their breakfast sandwiches already and I must say the price is really affordable. For $5 or less you can get a wholesome breakfast sandwich! Gotta try their turkey melt on that cheese bagel, so good. The drinks have been solid from iced mocha to tea to hot coffee. About $6 for the largest size, even cheaper for hot and smaller sizes. Parking can be a challenge since only street parking is available, and also there are a few seats available inside with WiFi to get your work/study on. So I was running errands and needed a quick breakfast and some caffeine. Has this spot saved in my breakfast collection and was passing by so I went for it. Lovely little Cafe. The woman behind the counter was kind and fast. The Caramel Francis is really good. The breakfast sandwich was good too. The turtles is what lured me in. The service, the owner (April), the ambiance, the drinks is what brings me back. Go to drink is a hot Dirty Chai. I love how April is supportive of other businesses and the community. Another go to item is the "Coyotas" from Tutuli. April usually has a few there in the morning. I prefer the guava ones. It's like an empanada. As for the breakfast sandwich. Getting it on a bagel is a must. I also like that I can pick up books from Books on B, at Snappy's cafe.
