We were looking for a local business near OAK and this cafe looked pretty good from the reviews. Well, our experience not so much. Flat bagel with cream cheese is not much to talk about. Vietnamese sandwich was just a let down. Veggies are barely picked and not tasty. Did not taste fresh. Chicken pieces were gamey and we were deliberately dropping them out of the sandwich to avoid eating them. For me, 3 stars is a place I would go back if I'm in the area and cannot think of a better place to go. This one is 2.5 for us and so no return visit for us. read more

This is a nice, casual Asian-run restaurant with a dog-friendly patio. We came by after taking the dogs for a walk at Oyster Bay Regional Shoreline. I had the egg salad sandwich, which was pretty good. My husband had 1/2 turkey sandwich and chicken won ton soup with a cold matcha latte, which he enjoyed. We shared an order of 2 spring rolls, and they were good-sized. You order the food at the counter, and pick it up yourself when it is ready; they give you an estimate of how long it will be. What an absolute GEM! I'm so happy I found this lovely mom and pop shop. FOOD - amazing! They have fresh bread delivered every morning to make their sandwiches. Their sandwiches have a generous amount of meat and veggies in them, and the bread is always toasted right before being served. DELICIOUS. And such an amazing price for the quality of the food! Can't beat that! They also have good lunch deals that include chips and a drink :) SERVICE - fantastic. They are so sweet!!! They pick up all of their phone calls, and will walk with you to make sure they understand your order precisely. Fast, accurate, and efficient. A break from my dogs and before I start my weekend mornings of errands and to do's. Standard coffee. I ordered egg, ham sandwich everything on its bagel. It was delicious, fairly amount of eggs and ham. I noticed when a couple came in with their kid, she stopped midway of making the sandwich and proceed to take their orders, then proceeded to make their specialty coffees. Granted I saw that my sandwich was 99.9% percent done and all it needed was to pop in the toaster oven. But I guess regular customer gets preferences and priorities. I asked her if there is a time policy regarding customers and working at the café. "Two hours and you must order drink and foods." OK! Like I was just going to go to the café and use their resources and not order anything? One of the coffee carafes was low on coffee and only spurting coffee here and there. The Dark Roasted coffee carafe. I walked back to the counter and let her know, her reply was use the other coffee, she may not make it for another 10 minutes. There were only 3 people in the café, and she could have the time to check it if it still full or empty? And I did not want nor to drink the medium blend coffee. If this is the case, I would take my own coffee next time and just order off the food menu. Even if it's a coffee gas station style, please at least make sure it is clean, fully restock and coffee full. They have a small parking lot but otherwise pay n park. Not a big deal to me. Outside patio seating areas with outdoor heater if needed for those cold fall and winter mornings. Yes! I will come back; I believe in supporting local businesses. They do have an aesthetically pleasing set up. **ADVISE: Treat your customers equally-whether they are your regulars or non. This is great lunch spot located in the heart of Downtown San Leandro. They have a nice outdoor seating area on the deck although, it can get a bit noisy since it is located in the heart of downtown. No need to pay for metered parking. They have a small parking lot area behind the cafe of you can park at the Safeway across the street for free. I really like this cafe but there are a few problems 1. its often too hot I wish they would turn on the AC 2. there is a 5 dollar minimum for cards which is not so bad when you make your first purchase but if you just want to buy drinks and stuff later this is kind of pricy 3. the wifi compared to near by caffes is flakey. Inside was pretty cozy. My friend and I were so hungry after a long hike by the lake and wanted some sandwiches. Came across this gem looking for a place a coffee shop with WiFi to take my meeting since I wasn't going to make it to my office in time. I already figured Starbucks and Peet's to be loud and probably crowded, so I opted for this spot I knew nothing about hoping it was quieter and had enough space not to piss people off with my talking during my meeting. Got in to ask if WiFi was available after taking a quick glance to scope out the place and check out their menu. *Whew!* Decent WiFi was available and there were only 3 others in the coffee shop with me. Of course, the two guys at the other table would happen to be talking business loudly since the whole place was pretty dead, but it beats having to somehow block out the blending and grinding of coffee beans and yelling of incorrectly pronounced names to pick up their orders and whatnot. The only worker I saw there at the cafe was very nice. I didn't feel pressured to order anything when I asked about WiFi surprisingly, but of course I felt inclined to haha. At a quick glance, I saw a paper posted on the side below the regular menu for a breakfast croissant sandwich combo for $5.50 that came with a 12oz. coffee or your choice of tea. I can't drink coffee so I chose a breakfast tea. Didn't have enough time to look at the menu, plus it seemed like a decent deal. That order didn't disappoint! The croissant sandwich was pretty basic - sliced with a meat (ham?) coldcut and a slice of cheese with an in between over easy/ scrambled egg. I know, it sounds lame, but honestly, it was prepared perfectly. The egg was not overdone, nor was it extremely runny. And the croissant was warmed perfectly! If I didn't have to be in my meeting for an hour, I would've gobbled it up ASAP. The tea was also a nice temperature, and a great pairing with the sandwich. Loved this place. Food was good but I requested for a chai latte with oatmilk (I always order an oatmilk chai everywhere I go and have never had a problem). The drink overall did not taste right. I requested if they could change it for normal milk or soy, and the lady said I would have to repurchase another drink in order to get a new drink. I was disappointed overall because cafes normally have no problem changing your drink! I've had great experiences with those who have accommodated my requests or if I'm not happy with my drink, can change my drink. But they had told me since they made it already Id need to buy a new one. I came here yesterday when I had a 30 minute lunch break during a long meeting. As long as I've lived on this street, I never tried this place but I've always wondered about it. The outdoor seating is cute and great for a working lunch or break from the every day. I ordered the grilled pork banh mi combo. It came with a drink (I upgraded to Thai iced tea) and chips. Wow. Just wow. This bahn mi was incredible! The bread was fresh and warm, the pork was perfect: not too fatty and super tasty and just enough of it. The veggies were also fresh and provided such a delightful crunch to my sandwich. This seriously is one of the banh mi sandwiches I've ever had and I'm just mind blown that all these years I never knew this existed within walking distance of me. Great place for a cheap yummy breakfast! I ordered the croissant sandwich breakfast combo. A freshly made croissant sandwich and a small coffee for only $5.30! The sandwich was delicious. The coffee was lukewarm, but can't complain. Lots of small tables inside for seating. There's a small parking lot to the side. Located in downtown San Leandro. It wasn't very busy when I visited on a Sunday at 10am. Service was friendly. You can just leave your dirty dishes on the table, as they clean up after you. When we walked in, we were greeted by a fireplace, and the rooms felt like they all were once living rooms in a modest house. Banh mi is okay. I had the pork combo one. It was room temperature. They also had an assortment of coffees and smoothies to choose from. For the latter, you can add on additional toppings like boba and jelly. I decided to go with a basic mango smoothie and it came out delicious! The mango tasted fresh and all they put in it is ice and milk - pure and delicious, it was the perfect drink to have on a sunny afternoon.
