We were looking for a local business near OAK and this cafe looked pretty good from the reviews. Well, our experience not so much. Flat bagel with cream cheese is not much to talk about. Vietnamese sandwich was just a let down. Veggies are barely picked and not tasty. Did not taste fresh. Chicken pieces were gamey and we were deliberately dropping them out of the sandwich to avoid eating them. For me, 3 stars is a place I would go back if I'm in the area and cannot think of a better place to go. This one is 2.5 for us and so no return visit for us.
This is a nice, casual Asian-run restaurant with a dog-friendly patio. We came by after taking the dogs for a walk at Oyster Bay Regional Shoreline. I had the egg salad sandwich, which was pretty good. My husband had 1/2 turkey sandwich and chicken won ton soup with a cold matcha latte, which he enjoyed. We shared an order of 2 spring rolls, and they were good-sized. You order the food at the counter, and pick it up yourself when it is ready; they give you an estimate of how long it will be. The employees were helpful and friendly.

A break from my dogs and before I start my weekend mornings of errands and to do's. Standard coffee. I ordered egg, ham sandwich everything on its bagel. It was delicious, fairly amount of eggs and ham. I noticed when a couple came in with their kid, she stopped midway of making the sandwich and proceed to take their orders, then proceeded to make their specialty coffees. Granted I saw that my sandwich was 99.9% percent done and all it needed was to pop in the toaster oven. But I guess regular customer gets preferences and priorities. I asked her if there is a time policy regarding customers and working at the café. "Two hours and you must order drink and foods." OK! Like I was just going to go to the café and use their resources and not order anything? One of the coffee carafes was low on coffee and only spurting coffee here and there. The Dark Roasted coffee carafe. I walked back to the counter and let her know, her reply was use the other coffee, she may not make it for another 10 minutes. There were only 3 people in the café, and she could have the time to check it if it still full or empty? And I did not want nor to drink the medium blend coffee. If this is the case, I would take my own coffee next time and just order off the food menu. Even if it's a coffee gas station style, please at least make sure it is clean, fully restock and coffee full. They have a small parking lot but otherwise pay n park. Not a big deal to me. Outside patio seating areas with outdoor heater if needed for those cold fall and winter mornings. Yes! I will come back; I believe in supporting local businesses. They do have an aesthetically pleasing set up. **ADVISE: Treat your customers equally-whether they are your regulars or non. I am still a paying customer and would like to support your local business and recommend it as well.
This is great lunch spot located in the heart of Downtown San Leandro. They have a nice outdoor seating area on the deck although, it can get a bit noisy since it is located in the heart of downtown. No need to pay for metered parking. They have a small parking lot area behind the cafe of you can park at the Safeway across the street for free. Service was friendly and I enjoyed their banh mi and Thai tea. Great place to stop by and grab lunch.
Love this place! It is so homey and I love places that are not chain restaurants. The prices are so reasonable here too and the food is really tasty. I come here often for their breakfast specials and I also enjoy their spring rolls.
Inside was pretty cozy. My friend and I were so hungry after a long hike by the lake and wanted some sandwiches. We ordered 1/2 sandwich and 1/2 salad combo, the tuna or turkey sandwiches we got were really sad, just small amount of tuna salad or turkey slice, and the salad was literally just lettuce leaves. We wanted some chai tea, but we got chai latte and it's super sweet. But at least they changed out drink later. Maybe I just chose the wrong food.

Came here on a whim for breakfast sandwiches to take to the marina. Plenty of street parking and regular parking in downtown San Leandro. This place is such a cute gem! They have a lot of options which include breakfast sandwiches, Vietnamese spring rolls, they also had soups and banh mi. Fruit drinks are served too! We got the croissant ham and egg sandwiches, fresh spring rolls, and banh mi to go. Service was friendly and fast. The food tasted great! Nice and flaky croissants and the banh mi was also a favorite. The shrimp spring rolls had mint which is always a plus for me because not all Vietnamese places serve it like that. Lots of seating inside and they even have outdoor dining. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area and want some solid sandwiches. read more

Review is for Iced Latte only. I wanted to leave a good review but the Iced Latte was probably the worst I have ever tasted. Burnt coffee. Made so quickly that he couldn't have pulled a shot. read more

Cozy little spot with everything you need in terms of coffee, tea, and food options. Plus, it's not a big chain, so no corporate greed stuff. That's my bias anyway. Lovely breakfast sandwich, tasted like home made and I watched it being made fresh. Friendly lady behind the counter, patiently waiting while I was half asleep and trying to make sense of what I wanted. Free WiFi available as well. read more

Delicious bagels! We got bacon, egg and cheese bagels with mocha and cappuccinos. The outside patio was perfect! We sat in the shade beside a beautiful bougainvillea. Listened to the light traffic go by. Perfect way to spend a leisurely Sunday morning. read more
Came across this gem looking for a place a coffee shop with WiFi to take my meeting since I wasn't going to make it to my office in time. I already figured Starbucks and Peet's to be loud and probably crowded, so I opted for this spot I knew nothing about hoping it was quieter and had enough space not to piss people off with my talking during my meeting. Got in to ask if WiFi was available after taking a quick glance to scope out the place and check out their menu. *Whew!* Decent WiFi was available and there were only 3 others in the coffee shop with me. Of course, the two guys at the other table would happen to be talking business loudly since the whole place was pretty dead, but it beats having to somehow block out the blending and grinding of coffee beans and yelling of incorrectly pronounced names to pick up their orders and whatnot. The only worker I saw there at the cafe was very nice. I didn't feel pressured to order anything when I asked about WiFi surprisingly, but of course I felt inclined to haha. At a quick glance, I saw a paper posted on the side below the regular menu for a breakfast croissant sandwich combo for $5.50 that came with a 12oz. coffee or your choice of tea. I can't drink coffee so I chose a breakfast tea. Didn't have enough time to look at the menu, plus it seemed like a decent deal. That order didn't disappoint! The croissant sandwich was pretty basic - sliced with a meat (ham?) coldcut and a slice of cheese with an in between over easy/ scrambled egg. I know, it sounds lame, but honestly, it was prepared perfectly. The egg was not overdone, nor was it extremely runny. And the croissant was warmed perfectly! If I didn't have to be in my meeting for an hour, I would've gobbled it up ASAP. The tea was also a nice temperature, and a great pairing with the sandwich. Loved this place. And it's not too far from San Leandro BART. Yay! read more

I came here yesterday when I had a 30 minute lunch break during a long meeting. As long as I've lived on this street, I never tried this place but I've always wondered about it. The outdoor seating is cute and great for a working lunch or break from the every day. I ordered the grilled pork banh mi combo. It came with a drink (I upgraded to Thai iced tea) and chips. Wow. Just wow. This bahn mi was incredible! The bread was fresh and warm, the pork was perfect: not too fatty and super tasty and just enough of it. The veggies were also fresh and provided such a delightful crunch to my sandwich. This seriously is one of the banh mi sandwiches I've ever had and I'm just mind blown that all these years I never knew this existed within walking distance of me. The Thai iced tea was also exceptional: it wasn't too sweet which I'm always grateful for. Just a nice balance to hit my Thai iced tea preferences. I will be back again! read more

Great place for a cheap yummy breakfast! I ordered the croissant sandwich breakfast combo. A freshly made croissant sandwich and a small coffee for only $5.30! The sandwich was delicious. The coffee was lukewarm, but can't complain. Lots of small tables inside for seating. There's a small parking lot to the side. Located in downtown San Leandro. It wasn't very busy when I visited on a Sunday at 10am. Service was friendly. You can just leave your dirty dishes on the table, as they clean up after you. I would definitely be back if I'm ever in need of a quick breakfast! read more
I have been here on several occasions for lunch with friends and or family Service here is very friendly and almost family like. They offer an array of items from breakfast to lunch American/Vietnamese fusion style food options There is outside and inside seating. Free WiFi. Parking is offered in the back of the venue and also street parking available. read more
In town for training and wanted to check this place out. Ordered 1/2 sandwich (Turkey) and chicken wonton soup for $7.75 (I think) plus tax (total $9.04). Ready in 7 min and so delicious! Great selection and specials. Great for something light. I would definitely return. read more

Cafe Sorriso is pretty cute, looks and feels like a house that was converted into a restaurant. When we walked in, we were greeted by a fireplace, and the rooms felt like they all were once living rooms in a modest house. Banh mi is okay. I had the pork combo one. It was room temperature. It was better than a normal Western sandwich, but fell beneath my expectations for a great banh mi sandwich. At least when I go to Chinatown, the banh mi is hot and crispy, freshly heated, for a fraction of the price here. Their Thai iced tea is very delicious though! Sweet, but with just the right amount of bitterness from the coffee. read more

Quick Summary: - Beautiful interior - Lots of space inside and outside the cafe - Close to the BART station - A high variety of snacks, savory dishes, coffees, and also boba drinks An adorable cafe with really good coffee drinks. I ordered a latte and also got myself a plate of marbled sweet bread. As I was thinking on what to drink, I noticed there was a long list of different dishes. I only visited here once, but when I was craving for a good coffee place, and this place delivered it. I loved the coffee taste. The taste was so good; not bitter or sour at all!. The second surprise was that the milk for the latte was really creamy and frothy! It made the coffee even creamier. And one last thing, a warning for some, a pure glee for some, the coffee is extremely hot, so be a little cautious when you take a sip. read more
