    Great tasting baked goods!!!
    Allan Y.

This review is for their bake good. I have been here a few time picking up some of their pastries from the To Good To Go app, where you can get a variety of pastries for a cheap price at the end of the day when they don't sell out. Each one of the plate is bag and price is $4.75 plus tax on the TGTG app. Their almond croissant is to die for, that is one of my favorites. All the pastries I have gotten, they were all great!!!

3.5 stars Been here a couple times but it's always so inconsistent . Today both my coffees were so sweet when I asked for medium cream and light (sugar)sweetness on both of them . One I made a mistake on but left in the notes for light sweetness but she acknowledged I may have made a mistake . Yet the coffee tasted like I was drinking sugar coffee on both of my orders . It's disappointing and I won't be back to this location . The baked goods is delish though

Philz coffee is a lovely franchise. I normally get the mint mojito iced coffee. I'm looking forward to trying new flavors since this location is more accessible to me. Everything they serve seems to be high quality. And the NY style cheddar jalapeño bagel is so fire! Although I'm glad to have one near by, the location itself is odd to me. There is no parking. There is a VERY SMALL Sprouts parking lot and down the street is a metered lot. I hope that doesn't impact the stores ability to stay open. The only downside to Philz in general, is that they are slow. I've visited several locations and they all seem to be the same. Philz is a very chill relaxed environment. So please have patience! If you are in a rush, do yourself a favor and order ahead.

I stopped into the newly opened Philz Coffee on 14th St & Callan Avenue. There is a Sprouts parking garage nearby, in addition to metered street parking. The interior is spacious and large. Several tables and benches to sit at. Two separate unisex restrooms. The service was very friendly, courteous, and polite. Yuzu Twist Lemon Tea: a refreshing, limited-time iced beverage combining cold-brewed black tea, lemonade, and vibrant citrus yuzu with fresh mint (4/5). This is one of my favorites here. The TGTG Surprise Bag contained... Cherry Almond Coffee Cake - seasonal item (4/5). Wow, just as I hoped it would be. I'd get this again! It also had a Plain Croissant, Kouign Amann, Pumpkin Loaf, & Blueberry Muffin. Come check them out.

It's Saturday, and this seems to be part of my routine now. I stopped in to get my usual, the rose latte, but after looking at the overhead menu, I noticed they were offering a peanut butter cup cold brew. That was the choice of the day, and I only asked that they add extra rose syrup. And by extra, I mean add the rose syrup and more rose syrup because rose syrup doesn't come with this particular drink. It's also one of the reasons I enjoy coming here for coffee instead of other local coffee shops. They always invite you to sip and savor at the counter, so if you don't like it, they can remake it to your liking. But this time she said, "Go ahead and drink it down a bit so I can add more of the strawberry syrup you like so much." See you next Saturday.

    Tantalizing Turkish (m. 5.80)

Philz Coffee opened recently on the ground floor of Centro Callan in a corner commercial space. Brand new space with specialized decor reminiscent of Trader Joe's. Philz has entered private equity ownership since my last visit in Castro Valley. Menu has expanded from its core coffee blends. Offerings (darker/medium/lighter blends, cookies, croissants, bagels, sandwiches, burritos, pastries, muffins, tea, breakfast, coffee beans, merch.. Parking is nonexistent except for paid meters, or in shopping center across the street. Sprouts may not be an option. Seating is some tables and benches inside or tables outside. Inside seating is tight, not a lot of space. Ordering was quick as line was only 1 person. Waiting for drinks 6 minutes. Much better than 30 minutes in C.V. Sips: Tantalizing Turkish (med. 16 oz. 5.80) -didn't know this was a rebrand of Aromatic Arabic Blend 5.30) I had before. Tastes different. Initially harsh, it mellowed out later to be a smoother easy sipping but not bold sip. -new formula: cardamon, mint, aromatic Arabic coffee blend. Something missing? Haven't been to a Starbucks for a decade+. Imagine Philz is emanating Star for good or.... 4 stars: semi-worthy:ymmv. Service: excellent. Quantity: reasonable Qualtiy: unknown-probably lower than before. Maybe awhile before Philz is visited again.

Delish pastries, warm and hearty food options, and drinks!

Waited patiently for Philz to open at this location, so I was ready before 8am to head over to their grand opening! The vibe at 7:30am was bussin' and they had more than enough staff and management working hard to take care of all customers in the house! Seeing tables and chairs full of people, including people focused on their laptops and people laughing, and seeing people going in and out of the door made it even more exciting to see their business THRIVING ON DAY ONE! My mom and I enjoyed our fav Kouign-amann pastry and I ordered my iced mint mojito from our takeout orders. All baked goods were fully stocked, nonstop drinks being prepped, and an abundance of samples as their grand opening treats, made this Philz location worth the wait! Thank you to the fantastic, organized, and super friendly and energetic Philz team here!

Philz Coffee just soft opened this new location and it already feels like a win! The location is perfect and fits the area really well. The coffee is exactly what you expect from Philz. Smooth, flavorful, and made with care. No surprises here, which is a good thing. Cozy seating, relaxed vibe, and plenty of spots where you can lounge with a cup or get a little work done. Strong start for this location. I can already see it becoming a regular stop.

I love Philz. I am so glad they have this location in San Leandro now. But I have to say, the last several times I have come to this location have been very disappointing. The baristas are nice, but they seem to need more training. One day I order a Philz mint mojito, creamy but lightly sweet. When I go to drink it, its very sweet. I didnt have time for them to remake it, especially as it already took them a long time to make the drink in the first place. The very next day, I came back and ordered the same thing. Minto Mojito, creamy, lightly sweet, and this time with extra mint. It took forever to make. When it was finally ready, it was actually lightly sweetened this time correctly, but now it wasn't creamy at all and there was no extra mint that I asked for. All that said to just demonstrate how inconsistent this location has been compared to my experience at other philz locations. I don't know who is at fault, the person ringing up the drinks or the persons making them, but the drinks could use some more consistency.

The best jalapeño and cheese bagel along with the chocolate croissant and the caramel coconut drink. This is all the best
    Melissa G.

To be honest, I just tried the chocolate croissant today from there and when I tell you, it's way better from Starbucks, I'm being 100% with it. I love going here every time for my favorite drink and my favorite breakfast to eat. It's always the jalapeño cheese bagel always has to be that one that's one of the top tier best ones along with my favorite blueberry muffin

In the reward section, you have to spend $120 (1,200/10=$120) to get a free cup of coffee !!! Terrible!!

I asked the cashier if it was a good choice and she recommended it. I was a little unsure how the two would blend and how much orange they would use in it, but it came out amazing! Honestly probably one of the top 10 unique mocha's I have tried and it was delicious! I loved the burst of refreshing orange that complimented the chocolate. The flavors danced on my tastebuds like two separate flavors that blended together as one. Each holding their own note that added value to the drink making it unique. I was instantly impressed and wish I found this on more menus! A classic mocha with a refreshing twist of orange was a pleasant surprise! I'm so glad I stopped in for a pick me up! Was meeting up with a friend from Berkeley and he found this spot in between the both of us. Pros and cons! + The coffee - holy shit. Got a cortado. And drank it without sugar it was so good. A touch of bitter (it's coffee - duh!) but so smooth, almost nutty but buttery at the same time. + Got a chicken salad sandwich. It came stacked HIGH with hints of sweetness and curry. Freshest produce. Honestly, I was hungry but could only eat half of it, it was so big. + Friend got a warmed cinnamon bun. Incredible. Yeasty, chewy almost crisp on the outside but pillowy soft on the inside. + Wide open space inside -- high ceilings, one big central area. Not tucked away spaces -- which might or might not match your preference. + Perfect amount of coffeehouse buzz. Music playing lowish in the background and lots of conversations. Just enough to quell my ADHD tendencies. * Honestly can't think of any negatives. Prices are a bit high but happy to pay it for such a quality experience. I think my cortado was decently priced -- maybe $6 or so? Sandwich was $18 or so but done really well and came with a bowl of soup (chips, fruit, and something else was an option instead of soup, but tomato bisque with a sandwich? Divine.) - An hour away from where I live but if you live anywhere East Bay, my curse is your blessing ;-)

I had been to the church before, but I didn't remember the massive coffee hangout there! It's so spacious and offers plenty of seating. How long has this place been here? I wish it were closer to where I live in San Jose! I could easily imagine sitting in one of the comfortable nooks, studying or grading papers. It's also a fantastic spot to meet up or chat with a group of friends. It was definitely a nice place for a date! When we walked in, there were hardly any available seats, but the line at the counter wasn't long. We found a quiet corner to sit and enjoyed our breakfast. I ordered a hot latte with maple syrup in the name, though I can't recall the exact name. It paired nicely with my pastry. The almond croissant I ordered was delectable, with just the right amount of sweetness and flakiness. My partner enjoyed his cappuccino and savory bacon croissant. We walked up two steps to the restroom and were surprised to find more seats and tables. I wish I had noticed that area when I was looking for a place to sit. Oh well, it was comfortable where we were. The girls should have more playdates with their cousins so we can come here more often.
