We asked for no foam and for one of the lattes to have one shot of espresso instead of two. His response was simply, "I can't do that," delivered in such an irritated way that the person I was with didn't even want to ask whether he could just use part of the shot. Then, when the drinks were ready, he called out, "Two drinks, EXTRA foam." I corrected him and said they were supposed to have NO foam. He responded with an irritated scoff, and thankfully his coworker stepped in and said she would remake them. Unfortunately, the drinks still weren't good. They were lukewarm at best, nowhere close to hot, and one was missing the sweetener we had ordered. The interior is unique (3 stars), with sparse hardwood seating (literally hard with so cushions), but because the space is so minimal, I would have expected it to be cleaner. It wasn't filthy, but the small tables were noticeably grimy. The drinks were also surprisingly expensive. They were less than 12 oz and around $7.50 each, which is more than I typically pay at Philz. For a place called Devout Coffee, there was nothing particularly sincere, earnest, or thoughtful about the experience. More than anything, it felt like the barista had zero pride in his craft or interest in providing decent customer service. Good coffee shops can charge premium prices when the drink and experience justify it. This one didn't.

They also have small appliances, dresses, tiles, and more. I think it's a family run business. Everyone is super nice and helpful. They accepts cards for payment but cash is king here. Make sure you go to the ATM prior so you get an even better deal!

Most chairs are hard wood, but there are a few with cushioned seating. There is one tall table and a "living room" style seating in one corner. Fuel: Suju's has a large menu of coffee, tea and other drinks. They offer breakfast and lunch options. Their pastries, bagels and dessert options are fantastic! And you can get a large hot tea for $3.50. NO outside food or drinks!

Most pastries are $3-6, and the drinks are in the $4-7 range depending on the size. This is better than most other coffee and tea shops, especially in the Bay Area!! As for the interior, there's lots of seating, and every time I visited there are many people studying or working on their laptops. The music isn't too loud, but sometimes locals are chatting pretty loudly (so studying and working here is hit or miss). My only criticism (which isn't every time) is the speed of service when it's busy. The staff is always friendly, but it often looks like there are only two or three people working. Because of that, sometimes it can take longer for an order to be ready, and I once received my "warmed up" pastry a little cold since they probably forgot about it and were working at the cashier counter or making drinks. Overall, I definitely recommend Suju's if you're looking for an affordable coffee shop with lots of menu options and a place to study or work on chill assignments and projects.

It's been open since June. It's a simple coffee cart. But they have also nice seasonal flavors. Today I tried the strawberry hazelnut coffee , two things I love and it's excellent. My sweet barista Martin helped me out this morning. I loved the soft musical jams playing in the background to take me to another place, a necessary distraction from the hospital.
