YEMENI COFFEE and pastries in Fremont! They are a franchise with a lot of locations in Michigan and…read moreNY but this is currently their ONLY location in California so consider it a special exclusive for now. They have coffee and pastries you will not find anywhere else in Fremont and remind me of some of the "Little Arabia" neighborhoods you normally only find in LA on the West Coast. Mufawar Coffee : Before cappuccinos and lattes, there was Mufawar. Born in Yemen's highlands, this creamy, cardamom-infused coffee made my morning, I loved being able to choose the sweetness level. Bee Bites: Sliced like a pie, covered in honey, delicious pastry with cheese inside. The kids loved this and debated over who got the last piece. Fatayer: I've had the chicken, beef, and spinach & feta and all were excellent. It's snack-sized and not too big and actually a perfect size for me to pair with their excellent coffee. Musakhan Chicken Roll: Chicken, olive oil, onion, spices. Again, I might be in the minority but I like snack sized food and not too big. I split this in half as a 2 snacks and it was excellent. Za'atar and cheese croissant: Za'atar is one of my favorite spice combos and Ioved it on this croissant, I reheated this in a toaster oven at 350 degrees at home and it was excellent! Frozen Blend: Pineapple Mango: Comes in a very cool glass and the kids destroyed this, they loved it so much!

And that strong odor got absorbed into the food. And the mango cheesecake had artificial flavours. Literally had a bit of each and down the trash...

PRO: Plenty of parking, which was probably the best part of the experience. (5 stars)…read more CONS: (Negative 6 stars) The barista was incredibly rude. We asked for no foam and for one of the lattes to have one shot of espresso instead of two. His response was simply, "I can't do that," delivered in such an irritated way that the person I was with didn't even want to ask whether he could just use part of the shot. Then, when the drinks were ready, he called out, "Two drinks, EXTRA foam." I corrected him and said they were supposed to have NO foam. He responded with an irritated scoff, and thankfully his coworker stepped in and said she would remake them. Unfortunately, the drinks still weren't good. They were lukewarm at best, nowhere close to hot, and one was missing the sweetener we had ordered. The interior is unique (3 stars), with sparse hardwood seating (literally hard with so cushions), but because the space is so minimal, I would have expected it to be cleaner. It wasn't filthy, but the small tables were noticeably grimy. The drinks were also surprisingly expensive. They were less than 12 oz and around $7.50 each, which is more than I typically pay at Philz. For a place called Devout Coffee, there was nothing particularly sincere, earnest, or thoughtful about the experience. More than anything, it felt like the barista had zero pride in his craft or interest in providing decent customer service. Good coffee shops can charge premium prices when the drink and experience justify it. This one didn't.

The place has been around forever (Bay St Cafe). Dogs on leash ok. There's plenty of space indoors and outdoors to hang around, but note that it's quite popular, so crowds are regulars here. Apni Mandi grocery store parking lot is in back, but free parking is ok in the plaza if you can find a spot. Although the entrance door of cafe is in front side, you can still enter through back patio door area which is usually unlocked during business hours. Check for weekdays special happy hours 3pm-6pm for 15% off selected items too. I like it. I ordered for early dine-in on a Sunday morning. Positive busy vibes. Chatted with the employees too. Good people. Comfortable inside. I didn't think I would ever end up near the front windows/always so packed with customers inside, but it was perfect for vitamin D sunshine with sun facing east. Love it here. I had a very good and fulfilling breakfast grilled cheese sandwich on sourdough bread plus my regular hot cup drip coffee. Good option good tasting. They really hooked it up with the oily pesto sauce/droppy juicy here. There's a good variety of selections on the menu. Feels great and looks great. Overall, excellent spot to meet up or gather if you love cafe/coffee shop environments. I'll be back in the future. Very cool spot.

I honestly love the decor and environment that this Cafe offers. Each wall has a different mural or painting on it. I tried to take pictures of everything, but a lot of customers were sitting at different tables. So I only have a couple of the beautiful mirrors pictured. Hee Their menu is the perfect brunch or lunch environment for breakfast and savory lovers!! Their seasonal ice brew coffee changes, which I love and the current one is this Latin American iced coffee that literally taste like chocolate! The gentleman told me it has a harmony flavor like toffee if you get it hot!! I also love their Jamaica tea if you need something besides coffee and I have yet to try their kombucha, but I definitely need to come here for their jazz night!! The French toast, avocado toast, as well as their mission peak sandwich and Monte Cristo we're all delicious and my aunt and niece love their food and my one year-old Nephew loved the avocado toast!! I've never seen so many slices of avocado on a $13 avocado toast in my life!! They definitely do not skim on the avocado!! I definitely felt like I got my moneys worth!! I love coming here!!
