Love this addition to Newark! Located in the Sprouts plaza Lalala brings fun coffee and food to an otherwise sleepy town. I've been here a few times now I'll say this stick with the coffee, pastries and food! The matcha here isn't my favorite. The mascarpone pumpkin latte is so good I only wish it came hot as a latte as well! The pumpkin mascarpone isnt artificial tasting and has the perfect hint of fall. My wildcard favorite item is the jambon beurre while located under the toast section it's actually a sandwich and wow it's surprisingly good! The whole grain mustard along with the slightly melted Swiss cheese and cornichon on the perfectly textured baguette (idk where they get the bread from but it was bomb). I'd come here just for this honestly! Love the ambiance! My only suggestion would be to add more hot drinks as we go into cold season and keep/add more savory items. This is the most aesthetic Korean cafe in Newark, as part of ChaChaCha's sister cafe. I came in since the soft opening and most seats were taken by 10 am. BamBam hojicha- the hojicha latte was sweet and creamy, but too much ice. Jasmine Matcha- I love how creamy the matcha is, and I can taste the sweet Jasmine tea, which reminds me of HeyTea. I should've asked to adjust the ice and sugar level to less. Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Cookie- it's like eating a brownie cookie with generous melted chocolate chips when toasted. Everything Pull Apart- savory bun covered in oats, sunflower, sesame, poppy, and flax seeds. Expect to get messy with the seeds falling apart. All the pastries are from Midwife and the Baker in Mountain View, while the coffee beans are from Loquat, based in LA. I agree with other reviewers that each drink is too pricey at $8 a cup. Unfortunately, this is the common price point in Newark. You can get 50 cents to a dollar cheaper in Fremont or the South Bay. I love their interior design and their cute Photo Booth, which prints out in black and white after four poses. There's WiFi available to do remote work. I saw this place trending a bit on TikTok so I decided to come here myself? It's a tiny coffee joint with a rather small menu. I believe this place is still trending due to the Matcha drinks though it's starting to level off I only got a Cortado, gave it a fair chance. Taste wise it's all right just slightly better than usual. The prices just... don't make sense. Why is this drink and everything else so damn pricy? I absolutely love Chachacha and decided to come here to support their sister store Lalala! They're still in their soft opening, this place replaced cookie plug. Plenty of parking. This cafe is cutely decorated. There's chairs and tables to sit inside and outside. Service was friendly, the cashier was happy to explain their menu and answer my questions. Ordered the BamBam Hojicha with oatmilk 50% sweet, regular ice. Absolutely loved this drink. The Hojicha was nice and roasted, the texture was creamy, the drink was pretty sweet at 50%. They also have pastries. I got the ham and cheese croissant. They offered to warm it up for me which is a huge bonus. The croissant was flaky but the pastry itself is average. Saw Newark had a new coffee spot so gave it a try during their soft opening. It's located in a plaza so there's plenty of parking. The inside is small with a few seating areas and not much space to stand while you wait for your drink, but could be worst. The register is right by the front door area so it can get crowded and confusing who's in line quickly. I ordered the BAM BAM coffee and the jasmine matcha. My husband said his coffee was good but nothing too unique or memorable. The jasmine matcha was delicious and was on the sweeter side. Despite it not being a latte since jasmine tea was the base, it was still creamy and smooth. Overall, the menu is small and simple. The prices are a bit high given the area and size in my opinion. They only have one size and for $8 a drink, I didn't think it was too memorable or worth it given it was also filled with ice and we finished it in like 3 sips. I think this is a nice spot to grab quick drink but not my top choice as there's lots of coffee shops in the area. read more

The first thing that stands out about Lalala is their aesthetic. Its clean, it's fun, it's vibrant, it's like my living breathing Pinterest board in a room together. The checkered floors, tile backsplash, warm wood accents, stainless steel stools and lamps.. Ah, it's everything. Hats off to whoever decorated and curated this shop. They obviously have good taste using Loquat beans as well. The menu features coffee staples like americanos and flat whites, but in addition they have their our signature drinks most notably being the popular miso caramel latte. In terms of milk options, they have whole milk, oatmilk, and almond milk. They offer a small selection of Midwife and the Baker pastries which in my opinion were a coin toss of being tasty or not. Service here was below average for a coffee shop. The shop seems to be staffed with Gen z young kids so I don't really know what I expected for service. I guess for a casual place like this, I expect just minimal "hello" "thank you" and a warm smile and that's it. When we asked to add in a scone to our order last minute, the cashier didn't say a thing or even acknowledge us, she just rolled her eyes and added it to our tab. Once our order was ready, we noticed they gave us two flat whites instead of a flat white and a miso caramel. No big deal but I did expect some sort of acknowledgment. The whole experience felt kind of cold. Chocolate twist- this was recommended by the cashier for being the best bang for your buck. However it was the most disappointing of all the pastries we ordered. The size might be big but the pastry itself is on the dry side and average in flavor/filling. Seasonal scone- this was a citrus flavor scone and it was crumbly with a sweet vanilla glaze. The flavor was balanced and quite enjoyable. Miso caramel latte- the miso caramel is not prominent compared to Kaizen's version of this drink but it's more subtle and you can still appreciate the sweet and salty notes. I do find this drink better served hot. Everything bagel pastry- Puff pastry is excellent, airy with buttery layers. I would get this again. Things that could be improved: * Public restroom for customers because when the coffee starts moving.. the bowels start moving as well. * Friendlier staff to add to the cozy environment * Pastries heated upon ordering - makes for more enjoyable experience * Water dispenser would be an excellent touch Lalala is a great coffee spot with both indoor and outdoor seating. Checked out this new coffee spot while they're still in their soft opening phase! It's the sister café to ChaChaCha in Fremont, so I wanted to give it a try. I ordered the Bam Bam coffee drink (you can also order this with matcha or hojicha), which is made with house-made marron cream and buckwheat. We looked up what marron cream is afterward and found out it's made from sweet chestnuts, so if you have a nut allergy, I would skip this drink. That said, I thought it was pretty good! I finished my drink so fast and was tempted to order another one. My friend, who has a nut allergy, ordered the matcha latte instead. I tried a sip, and while it was okay, neither of us thought it was anything special. It's probably not something I'd order for myself. The baked goods are from a local bakery called The Midwife and the baker, which also sells at the farmers market. I've had their pastries at the farmers market before, so I was excited to see them here. Of course, I had to order the ginger molasses cookie and it was so good! Soft opening is currently 9-4pm. Line wasn't too long when we arrived but picked up as the morning continued. There is some seating available and we only saw one outlet, which was being used, but we easily found a seat. Their aesthetic is so cute and we really loved their self-serve mini photo kiosk (which is located towards the entrance). They are also selling coffee beans! Although it was busy, service was great and the staff were friendly, attentive, and tidy. It was clear that keeping a tidy bar space was important, and everyone had a defined role behind the bar. Their drinks had very subtle flavors! The White Miso Caramel could have benefited from a touch of salt in the syrup (or what is in the base), as when mixed with the milk & espresso, the drink tasted more milky than sweet notes. For the Hojicha, the roasted notes came through and I would order again! We look forward to their grand opening and trying their matcha next time! read more

Been eyeing this new coffee shop for several days and finally found the right time to stop by today around noon, when the line wasn't stretched out to the street. I waited about 8 minutes before ordering. One thing I noticed is that the menu isn't posted anywhere before you get to the register. It would definitely help if they had it displayed outside or near the entrance so customers have time to decide before it's their turn to order. When I got to the counter, I had a few questions about the drinks. The employee taking my order had to ask someone else for answers, and even then, my questions weren't fully addressed. I ended up ordering the Coconut Matcha and the Bam Bam and hoped for the best. I'm glad I did because both drinks were excellent. They were full of flavor, and after trying them, I completely understand why this place stays so busy. The shop itself is small, clean, and simple, with a handful of tables inside if you want to sit down. Overall, I'd give it a 4 out of 5. The drinks definitely live up to the hype, but I wish the staff were a little more knowledgeable about the menu and the products they're serving. Newark finally has a cute coffee spot among the sea of boba shops! Lalala uses beans from Loquat Coffee, an LA-based roaster and cafe. I ordered an ice vanilla latte which is made with house made Madagascar vanilla syrup, and a seasonal danish. Their pastries come from The Midwife and the Baker. The iced vanilla latte lacked vanilla flavor, but the coffee itself was good and balanced. It was a lil confusing when I asked about sweetness levels because they said their syrups are considered less sweet, but if I wanted more sweet, then I should get it regular sweet or more. I just said prefer less sweet. Maybe I should get regular next time? The danish was decent but nothing special. It'd be nice if the pastry was more crisp since it didn't have that flaky bite I was expecting. I toasted it at home after and that helped. It took about 30 minutes to get my drink. Keep in mind they're in the soft opening phase (as of 07/24/26) so wait times may be long. They also gave me the wrong pastry but immediately replaced it for me after I told them. A bit odd I didn't see any straws, but maybe that's just a soft opening miss. I love the attention to detail on the branding and overall design of the space. They have around 6 tables inside and a cute receipt-style black & white photo booth for you to take photos while you wait. I saw lots of ppl enjoying the Photo Booth. They make good use of the space they have, even though the shop is small there is a good amount of seating both inside and outside. Incredibly cute shop! It was bustling with folks, and they even had the cutest photo machine to take pictures while you wait. My fiancé loves affogatos, so I knew he'd order one. He went with the hojicha affogato, which came with cookies and cream ice cream. He said it was the perfect balance! The Matcha, now im a huge matcha and coffee connoisseur (at least i claim myself to be, and I lived the refreshing taste and feel to the coconut matcha, its a coconut water with matcha cloud cold foam. The cold foam sits right on top of the coconut water and drops down sooo beautifully, one would even say almost melts into the drink very sexy. And it's the perfect shade of matcha and the way the flavors blend, INCREDIBLE‍ 2.)The COFFEE, I also got the White Miso Caramel Latte (I did add an extra shot but because I love stronger coffee), it was amazing! The silky buttery way the miso and caramel flavors mix with the coffee made my coffee taste so creamy and buttery and like didn't taste acidic even with the extra shot. I was taken aback when I ordered a latte, cortado, & a shot of espresso on the side and was asked if I wanted regular or less sugar. I am used to these drinks being unsweetened by default at most coffee shops. My boyfriend also ordered the musconey with coffee, and it was too sweet for our tastes. MISO!!! so umami. not overpowering at all. the coffee taste was strong still but really balanced with the salty savory sweet miso. love it. 8.5/10 2 gripes - the miso syrup is on the bottom i guess for aesthetics. Invited by the new Newark Chamber President and Fremont Mayor Emerita Lily Mei to try this brand new coffee shop. We ordered the White Miso Caramel and the Coconut Matcha. After trying the Coconut Matcha I asked if they used ceremonial grade matcha powder and yes that is what they use! The drink was really smooth and flavorful! Their pastries were tasty and pulled apart easily. Staff was very friendly and informative. Plenty of free parking in front. They are located to the far right of the building where their sign is partially obscured by a large tree. The interior is comfortable and another great place to have informal meetings. As an avid coffee lover, My wife and I normally have to drive to Fremont to get some good craft coffee, I was very excited to see a new coffee spot open up near my house. In total transparency, we have tried this place twice before writing this review. The store was very welcoming even with it being on the smaller side. The staff was very friendly and informative. The coffee/matcha was just "okay"... which is very sad to say. With it being priced at 8 dollars I was expecting it to be next level, but sadly if I were to spend 8 dollars on coffee and choose between LaLaLa or Starbucks across the street, I would rather go to Starbucks. I would get a bigger-sized coffee as well as multiple amounts of customizations for the exact same price maybe a little bit more. But I would say I would get more bang for my buck there. Not to say the coffee isn't good here because I did finish it, but if I'm getting an "okay" coffee, I rather just make it at home or go somewhere else. For two coffees and 1-2 food items, you're looking at spending 25-30 dollars easily. I hope they can enhance or up their game to justify the high price tag for the drinks or reconsider the pricing. I would say try this place to see if you like it, but for me I would have to wait a while to go back. read more
