I tried their panda coffee and the lac coffee and both were delicious. Not too sweet and the different flavored foam you're able to add really makes a difference. I added sea salt to my panda coffee and house foam to my lac coffee and it definitely elevated the taste. Service was decent. Ambiance was nice with the different decors representing different parts of Vietnam
Super cute matcha spot! It had a little line when we got there but they cleared it quickly. The matcha had great flavor and the pandan complimented the matcha well. Staff was super sweet and I can't wait to go back!
When I went last year, I really enjoyed the vibe and menu. They had weird hours toward the end of 2025 and 2026 so when I returned I was surprised to see a whole makeover. In the past, the matcha drinks included the cream and now it's an extra $1 to add on. The quality also seemed to decrease. The chairs and tables also completely changed. It used to be a nice spot to sit, work, or study with plentiful of outlets throughout. Now the tables are smaller and chairs more uncomfortable designed to deter folks from staying too long.
Came here on a Saturday around noon after hiking mission peak, hoping for a strong yummy matcha, but unfortunately it was not nearly as good as it looked :( The matcha flavor was not strong at all. We tried the lac and thought that the viet coffee and jasmine flavors definitely overpowered the matcha. We also tried the earl grey matcha, and similarly, thought that the earl grey syrup dominated. We did enjoy the earl grey flavor though, but was just looking for a stronger matcha taste overall. Wait wasn't long though and they have tables inside!
With so many matcha and tea spots opening up lately, the market feels incredibly saturated, and a lot of places are starting to taste exactly the same. I had heard great things about LAC Coffee, but unfortunately, my experience didn't quite live up to the hype. I ordered the Hojicha Latte, but it tasted like straight-up milk. There was barely any distinct hojicha flavor coming through at all, and weirdly, it tasted more like plain coffee than roasted green tea. The menu is also fairly limited, so there aren't many other options to choose from if your first choice misses the mark. Between the weak flavor and the sparse menu, I'm not sure I'd give this spot another try.
One of the best cafes I've been to in a while, especially specializing in crafted Vietnamese coffee-based drinks and good quality Matcha Lattes. **What we ordered: Banana Creme Vietnamese Coffee (seasonal) Banana Creme Matcha Latte (seasonal) DRINKS: 9/10 SERVICE: 10/10 AMBIANCE: 10/10 DRINKS: 9/10 I loved how, even though the drinks are carefully crafted with specific flavor profiles, you can still distinctly taste both the banana crème and the Vietnamese coffee. The banana flavor tasted fresh and natural rather than artificial, while the Vietnamese coffee remained rich and flavorful. Since Vietnamese coffee can be quite strong, I find that many places struggle to strike the right balance between the coffee and the featured flavors. Here, they managed to perfectly blend the two, allowing each component to come through without overpowering the other. I also appreciated that the default sweetness level is 50%. The drink was well-balanced, not too sweet, not too strong, and definitely not bland. You can customize the sweetness to your preference, whether you want it less sweet or a little sweeter. SERVICE: 10/10 Friendly staff who greet you as you arrive, quick service with well-made drinks, and friendly smiles! AMBIANCE: 10/10 I also really loved the overall setup of the shop. It was cool seeing the different coffee brewing systems on display, which I think were different types of phin filters used for Vietnamese coffee. The Vietnamese posters around the shop were beautiful and added a unique touch to the space. The open-kitchen concept was also really nice. I especially loved the little details, like the Smiskis and Sonny Angels sitting on the money tree. It was such a cute touch and made the shop feel cozy and welcoming.
I've been in a matcha craze lately, so I swung by this spot to check out some of their unique choices. I got their pandan matcha (with added cream on top) and it was delicious. Their pandan milk was very fragrant and definitely tasted of pandan, and their matcha was rich. Reasonable prices and quick service. Would come back for sure.
This spot right here is the BEST matcha spot in the Bay. The BEST. The matcha scene is pretty saturated in the Bay, but Lac Coffee truly takes the cake. I dropped by with no expectations and left a die-hard fan. I got their classic Matcha Latte. Their matcha is so incredibly robust, earthy, and grassy in all the best ways. They also have a Pandan Matcha and L.A.C which is matcha and Viet coffee. My friends got both of these drinks and from the sips I sneaked, they were also divine! Protect and support this Viet-owned small business at all costs! :')
Hand whisked matcha and a real banana flavor! One of my new favorite matcha places. The inside is so clean and sleek! They also have coffee, which seemed pretty popular! Service was friendly and they take their time to ensure the quality of the product.
I love anything banana matcha. It was perfect and not too sweet. I could taste the banana, and it works well with the matcha. Also, I love the sprinkle of Biscoff crumbs on top. It is a perfect touch. The inside is beautiful and perfect for dates or just hanging out with friends to study or relax.

Banana Bread(8/10): The bread was nice and soft. It was slightly sweet, but I wish it was bigger. Matcha Latte(7/10): The drink was good, but I thought it didn't have enough matcha. Pandan Matcha(6/10): It was more on the milky side and I couldn't really taste the pandan. Maple Butter Cream Matcha(6/10): Initially I couldn't taste the maple flavor, but after letting the cream settle into the drink--I was able to taste it. Jasmine Matcha Latte(6/10): It tasted mostly like Jasmine, so I couldn't taste the matcha as much. Service(10/10): I didn't really experience the service(online ordered), but I could tell the workers are nice and friendly! Overall, a nice coffee place to go to before I head off to work!
This place is one of my favorite matcha places near me. Their coconut water matcha is the best 10/10! I usually get extra sweet because I like my drinks on the sweeter end. If you haven't tried this I highly recommend, it's so refreshing and has a good matcha taste to it. There is also a good amount of seating, I like to study/ do work here from time to time and the workers are always super nice. Even when it's super busy the wait isn't long, and each cup is hand whisked not pre batched!!
This place has been on my spot for a while so I'm happy I was in the area and got to try it. My boyfriend and I got a strawberry matcha. It's on the sweeter side, but I thought the matcha flavor wasn't too strong. It tasted more milky.
Came here this past Saturday and so glad I got to try this place while I was in the area. I ordered the L.A.C at 50% sweet (normal) and subbed oat milk. This is their phin-dripped Vietnamese coffee and jasmine matcha tea. I had never seen this combination before. They're all things I love, so I was very intrigued. The L.A.C was delicious. The jasmine was very fragrant and forward, which I really liked. The coffee, jasmine, and matcha blended well together and created a nice and tasty drink. It was enjoyable and I would definitely order it again. read more

Day Visited: Sunday at 12pm Price Range: $$ Parking: Parking lot (crowded) Ordered: House Mocha, 25% sweetness, with Hojicha cream Visited on a Sunday, and despite the line being out of the door by the time I arrived, I was somehow able to snag one of the tables! The parking lot was completely full, so you have to be patient with finding a parking spot. It was pretty crowded and because of that, everyone had to self order. Throughout my time there, lots of customers came through, but I received my drink relatively quickly. As for the drink itself, the house mocha was okay, but I'm glad that I was able to try the Hojicha cream! The mocha + Hojicha cream was an interesting combination, but I think I would try their Hojicha Latte the next time I go. They have matcha, Hojicha, and seasonal offerings as well (like their banana cream!). There is a single bathroom (with code), WiFi (spotty sometimes but I was still able to get what I needed done), and a decent amount of seating (depending on time you go) with available outlets. I worked there from 12 to almost closing, and was able to get the table near the window + an outlet! I was truly sat. Overall, I would come again to try a different drink and hope to snag a table to work! If you're able to get a good spot to sit, it's a solid place to be productive. Thanks Lac Coffee! read more
In my opinion this is the best matcha & coffee spot in the east bay!! I love their signature LAC, a coffee brewed with jasmine tea & topped with matcha. It sounds like there's a lot going on but it balances out amazingly and is genuinely so delicious. Ive also tried their strawberry matcha and strawberry hojicha and both are solid. The matcha/hojicha flavor is always strong and consistent. I also love their strawberry puree on the bottom, it's the perfect sweetness & consistency! Service here is really fast, even if the lines are long they'll have your drink out quickly! The interior is also really aesthetic, clean, comfortable, & dog friendly. read more

Came in on a Thursday during my lunch break and there were a surprising number of people enjoying their drinks inside. Waited behind a few people to self order at the kiosk and waited a couple more minutes for our drinks. There were a good number of tables to sit at and also some cute benches with a small side table to put your drinks on, which I thought was a cool seating arrangement. The cafe is located in the corner of the plaza with ample parking spaces. Disclaimer that we ordered two matcha drinks when this cafe's specialty is their Vietnamese coffee, so this review is solely based on their matcha alone. Pandan matcha latte: For a Viet-coffee-oriented cafe, their matcha wasn't horrible, but I have definitely tasted better. I wish my latte was creamier because the matcha tasted a little watered down. Banana cream matcha latte: A seasonal drink according to their menu, this drink was even more water-y than the first. Both the banana and matcha flavors were underwhelming. read more
Very cozy and calming vibes; minimalist decor. Very welcoming environment, a good place to catch up over coffee or study. Limited items on the menu for drinks and pastries. Drinks are pretty good. Haven't tried the pasties but its options are limited. Wished they had more options. Drinks are a little on the pricier end. Parking is available upfront or in the parking lot. Very convenient. I ordered the Pandan Matcha (oat milk, 25% sweet) with Egg Cream. I was pleasantly surprised! The pandan was infused into the milk. However, once mixed, the matcha flavor overpowered the pandan, where it tasted more like a matcha latte. Egg cream was on point though! Just the right amount of sweet. It added a rich creaminess to the drink. 50% sweet was the default, so I did 25% sweet instead, and it was perfect! They definitely do not skimp on the matcha here. There is also a light dusting of matcha over the egg cream. I would like to note that this matcha has an very prominent earthiness to it, which may be why it overpowered the flavor of the pandan. I would recommend trying this out though. Casual coffee shop. Service was super quick. If I'm in the area again, I will definitely stop by again. read more

Lac Coffee was recommended by matcha enthusiasts on Tik Tok. I decided to give them a try! I went on a weekday. Place is located in a plaza with lots of parking. Parking spots are a little tight so be wary in where you park. There was no line and I ordered on the kiosk. I got a matcha with house cream and oat milk. Really delicious! I stayed to study a bit. Tables and seats aren't very comfortable but the matcha made it worthwhile. I even got one to go! read more
This is a relative new matcha coffee place. It uses Vietnamese coffee beans for some drinks and the owner is Vietnamese ethnic American. Indoor decoration is modern and good ambiance. Very comfortable for a coffee shop. You can self order from the QR code display outside or use the kiosk machine . They sell some Bakery food and drinks . We tried the matcha latte and the LAC coffee ( which is very strong ) . Both tasted great. Would like to return to try other drinks . read more

I've been wanting to try out Lac Coffee ever since I saw it as a result on my Yelp page. So when I was choosing a spot to meet up with a friend, it was a no brainer. In short, due to a wild no electricity day, luckily we came in before and got our drink. It was strong for sure and I'm looking forward to trying out the rest of the menu. L O C A T I O N Lac Coffee is in a small little plaza on Cedar Blvd. Parking can be very difficult and the spots tight. I N S I D E There is a lot of seating but it does get busy and full. There's a restroom that can be used by customers. M E N U They're known for both their Vietnamese and Matcha drinks. They have a lot of creative drinks but since it was my first time, I decided to try out their classic Vietnamese Coffee - Vietnamese Old Fashioned. So I was being dumb and ordered light ice and light sugar and forgot I got a Vietnamese coffee. I was BUZZIN. It was also very strong and bitter but that's on me. It was good though! S E R V I C E I ordered at the front and it was pretty quick as it was earlier in the morning. Then unfortunately, the whole complex had a power outage which caused a bit of a conundrum for the workers and any new customers coming. The line was waaay out the door when I left after an hour or so of being there. It didn't affect us as I already got my drink before the outage and I was there to chat with a friend. O V E R A L L If it does get busy, they do have ordering online so it's nice to order then pick up. If you're early enough to opening, it's not too bad and no lines when I went. The drink is definitely quality and the price matches. I would love to come back and try out more of their menu. Definitely check them out! read more

Overall: 4.75/5 Been recommended this place and I finally got to try it. Good amount of parking, quick service, gets busy quickly but worth it :). You can order on the kiosk or employees if they're not busy. Drinks: - Strawberry Matcha: not overly sweet, needs more strawberries - Jasmine Matcha: fragrant but jasmine overpowers the matcha slightly, unfamiliar jasmine taste? - Matcha Latte: got 50% sweet (perfect), strong matcha, good bittersweet :) - Banana Matcha: out of all the banana matchas I've tried, this one is the best. Great balance of natural banana and strong matcha, banana doesn't taste artificial. Strong Recommendation :) read more
I really enjoyed this place! We tried the Coco Matcha and the Earl Grey Hojicha Latte. I highly recommend the Coco Matcha--it's the perfect balance of refreshing and light creaminess. It tasted very fresh, which I appreciate, as I've had issues with oxidized matcha at other spots recently. The Earl Grey Hojicha Latte was also good, though it was a bit too sweet for my personal preference as you can't adjust the sweetness level. read more

While in Newark we stopped in to Lac Coffee. The parking lot was super packed but we found a spot as someone was backing out. We ordered on the kiosk. I ordered the LAC (Jasmine matcha, Vietnamese coffee & egg cream) and my daughter ordered the Thai Tea. There's plenty of seating inside. Our drinks were ready super quick. And both were absolutely amazing! I've never had Jasmine matcha before. It was surprisingly delightful. Next time we're in town, we'll be back! read more
Solid matcha place with rotating seasonal drinks. Been here twice now and can say it's one of the better matcha places in the south bay. First time I came, they had a maple cream top which was delicious! Their matcha is great, more on the earthy side. I suggest at least 50% or 75% sweetness for those who like a sweet matcha. If not, 25% will be best just to get the matcha taste. Price wise, it was about $7 a drink but if you get milk alternatives, it ends up being $8. Pretty standard for a drink nowadays. I would definitely recommend to try this place out if you are around the area! It's in a plaza so there's plenty of parking. read more
This quiet cafe has a cute design with plants all around and plenty of seating. It's a great place to hang with friends or do some work! A little sad that it doesn't really have any board games like some cafes do. The staff is very friendly and helpful! We got the hojicha latte with banana cream and the pandan matcha. Both of the drinks were not bad! The banana cream was more of a cold foam than cream since it was pretty light. The pandan was stronger near the end and the matcha flavor was decent. However, we asked for light ice and we still got a cup full of ice. Our drinks were also not filled all the way. For $9 a drink, there are better options out there. read more

Came on a Sunday around 9:30am and was able to place my order right away. There's a self-order kiosk, but you can also order directly at the counter. Lac Cafe is located in a small plaza with a decent amount of parking, though I can see it being harder to find a spot during busier hours. I really appreciated how clean and modern the interior felt. The walls feature beautiful artwork highlighting different parts of Vietnam, along with décor that reflects their coffee culture. There's plenty of indoor seating, and I stayed for about three hours. It was mostly chill and quiet until around noon when it started picking up. The service was friendly and efficient. I knew I wanted something with pandan, and the staff member who helped me was patient and kind, offering helpful customization recommendations. I ordered: - Pandan Matcha (default: 50% sweet, whole milk): Loved it! The pandan flavor was prominent without overpowering the matcha, and the default sweetness was perfectly balanced. It was also ready in under five minutes. 5/5. Overall, Lac Cafe is a great spot if you're looking for a relaxed environment, thoughtful service, and well-balanced drinks that make you want to linger a little longer. read more

Visited on a Saturday afternoon after lunch and it was not too busy, they also make the drinks relatively quick as well, that's nice! The parking in the plaza is a little hard as it seems to fill up quickly, so keep that in mind if you're visiting! My friend and I got the Pandan Matcha and the Hojicha latte, as our first time here. The default for all drinks is set to 50% sweetness, so we just stuck with that. I added the house cream ontop of my Pandan Matcha, while my friend added the Hojicha cream ontop of hers. The Pandan Matcha was good, but more sweet than I expected, as it was set to the default 50% sweetness. Despite that, it was a decent mix of Pandan + Matcha, but the Pandan being a little more powerful since it's in the milk. (I love both Pandan and Matcha, but I think I'd pass on this drink) Next time I'd try the Vietnamese coffee drinks instead! The Hojicha latte was quite good, a more well balanced drink that was not too sweet! That drink was more my style. There's ample amount of seating inside and it wasn't loud or too rowdy, so it would be a great study or reading spot! Overall the drinks were good! read more
There's not many good matcha places in Fremont-Newark-Hayward-SL area, so I'm glad this opened up. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed. Parking was easy as it in a complex with different stores. The matcha quality was pretty good and with the cream on top, it was perfect. I wish there more matcha latte options. We also got the maple butter coffee and it was delicious. The Vietnamese coffee in it was strong but the maple butter adds a nice after taste to it. The cafe is small and can get loud. The service was amazing, our server was welcoming and adjust the coffee according to our needs. I would highly recommend this place. read more

Ist timer here. I got the brown sugar hojicha latte and husband got the maple butter cream coffee. So good!! I have never had hojicha before and I am a fan!! I could really taste the matcha. I also like my husband drink. Soo good!! They are busy on a Sunday, but the barista got the drink in our hand pretty quick. There are a lot of young adults just hanging out with friends. Absolutely love the Pandan Matcha! I keep getting the same drink because they nail it every single time, and I also don't drink coffee. What sets this drink apart is the Pandan infused milk (pretty color!) topped with freshly whisked matcha. At least, I hope it's whisked to order. Friends have ordered hot hojicha latte, Viet old fashioned, and house cream coffee. They also have some pastries they source from a local bakery. Lac Coffee is top tier! I feel like this is one of those places where all the drinks they offer taste really good. I've had the salted cream matcha and hojicha latte. Perfectly creamy, just the right amount of sweetness, and no bitterness! This place is in a business center next to the local high school and is always busy. Needed a caffeine boost, so we stopped by here! This coffee shop serves specialty Vietnamese coffee along with other boba drinks like matcha and hojicia. Maple Cream coffee (4/5): This was a seasonal drink. It definitely tastes like maple syrup in my coffee. I got it 75% sweet and the maple cream was sweet already, so it tasted really sweet. I thought this was unique and worth a try if you want something that reminds you of of breakfast I really enjoyed my experience here and would like to try another drink some day. read more
