When I went last year, I really enjoyed the vibe and menu. They had weird hours toward the end of 2025 and 2026 so when I returned I was surprised to see a whole makeover. In the past, the matcha drinks included the cream and now it's an extra $1 to add on. The quality also seemed to decrease. The chairs and tables also completely changed. It used to be a nice spot to sit, work, or study with plentiful of outlets throughout. I've been wanting to try out Lac Coffee ever since I saw it as a result on my Yelp page. So when I was choosing a spot to meet up with a friend, it was a no brainer. S E R V I C E I ordered at the front and it was pretty quick as it was earlier in the morning. Then unfortunately, the whole complex had a power outage which caused a bit of a conundrum for the workers and any new customers coming. The default for all drinks is set to 50% sweetness, so we just stuck with that. I added the house cream ontop of my Pandan Matcha, while my friend added the Hojicha cream ontop of hers. Despite that, it was a decent mix of Pandan + Matcha, but the Pandan being a little more powerful since it's in the milk. There's not many good matcha places in Fremont-Newark-Hayward-SL area, so I'm glad this opened up. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed. Parking was easy as it in a complex with different stores. The matcha quality was pretty good and with the cream on top, it was perfect. I wish there more matcha latte options. We also got the maple butter coffee and it was delicious. The Vietnamese coffee in it was strong but the maple butter adds a nice after taste to it. The cafe is small and can get loud.
