Kids loved it Large mango bingsoo - mango slices were plentiful. This was the first to go when everyone dug in. Large chocolate bingsoo - this was ok, I would have liked to see a little more chocolate incorporated into the dish. Large caramel bingsoo - loved the crunch that came with the cereal pieces. Large original red bean bingsoo - classic combo if you wanted something a little more simple Large injeolmi bingsoo. Large matcha red bean bingsoo - another classic combo. The matcha wasn't overpowering and the slight bitterness balanced out the sweet in the dish. Mango sago - classic summertime fave. Our go-to place for some cold desserts whenever its a hot day. The staff here is friendly, and the place is clean. I do have to warn you that it gets super busy here whenever the temps outside is high, so the wait can be a bit long for your order. Other than that, on a normal day, its pretty calm here and there are a bit of tables here to sit and eat. My one complaint here is that whenever its hot outside they do leave the doors open so its still warm inside the place. There is also a Snow Bowl in San Ramon, and I just made the connection on why their bingsoo tastes the same LOL. My first visit to MandRo was at the Davis location during my college days, so the drinks and bingsoo are so nostalgic for me. I can't believe the taste has been consistent all these years! I always alternated between the Okinawa Pudding Milk Tea ($5.25) and Hokkaido Milk Tea ($5.50), but I was in the mood for something stronger/less sweet. Hong Kong Coffee Milk Tea ($6): I aimed for the strongest drink lol. I ordered it 30% sweet, 30% ice with mini boba and it satisfied the craving. Mango Bingsoo Regular ($12.95): I always, always default to this flavor. I never know when mango season is, but their mangos have never failed to taste so ripe. How?! Perfect portion for 2-3 people. My folks and I came here on a whim after lunch nearby. We stopped in on a Sunday around 2 PM, and the place was completely packed. Luckily, we managed to grab a couple of tables and a spare stool for our group of six. The shop was a bit uncomfortably warm given the hot weather, which made it hard to sit and relax for long. We shared two regular-sized bingsoo--the strawberry and the mango. The strawberry was decent and balanced, though I wished it had come with more mochi pieces and fresh fruit underneath the shaved ice. The mango bingsoo, on the other hand, was much better and more enjoyable. I also ordered a jasmine milk tea (0% sugar) for my mom, but unfortunately it didn't have much of a tea flavor. It looks like MandRo recently rebranded to Snow Bowl, but everything other than the name is the same. Same management, same menu, same quality. Very consistent. I've been a regular for almost a decade, and I've literally tried 90% of the drink menu. Everything is good! Standouts are the popular mango sago and any of the basic milk teas. My personal favorite is the brown rice milk tea which has a nutty unique flavor that's so hard to find at boba spots so I get it almost every time I visit. As far as the bingsoos, the most popular flavors by far are strawberry and mango, and for good reason. Between the two my favorite is the strawberry bingsoo. It tastes like strawberries and cream and is served with chewy delicious mochi which you can order more of for an extra charge. The main con is that it's incredibly busy even during week nights sometimes and when it is, it takes a long time for orders to come out. There's almost never seating and you're usually waiting for a table along with several other groups. I'm not penalizing for this because it's a small place and it's not really feasible to add more seating than what they already have. Turnover is slow because people sit and chat. I'm a patient person and I'm not fazed by waiting of any kind, not even sitting in hours of bay area traffic, so I don't mind! That said I'm a minority based on my experience. Hate that I mention this in every review but it's very pertinent, I've worked so many food jobs and I see the way people react to having to wait especially when they are hungry -- including some of the times that I've been here and have witnessed people yelling at the employees... If you're impatient, do not come here to order a bingsoo on a Friday/weekend unless you're willing to wait potentially half an hour for it to come out AND you're willing to work around the minimal seating options.
