After we paid for our order, they argued with us that we did not pay for one of the scoops. We proved that we did when we recounted all the scoops. Again instead of an apology- we were given a huge eye roll. Unacceptable behavior. There is no level of unique ice cream flavors for which I tolerate this level of rudeness. Will never return. I've been to their location in Sunnyvale and loved it. So while having lunch in Fremont with friends, I suggested stopping by this branch. There's a good amount of street parking available. There was a pretty long line out the door when we got there but it moved at a good pace. I tasted two flavors and went with the chili guava. My partner went with the alphonse mango. Points of Joy in Fremont is a solid stop if you're into Indian sweets. I tried the gulabjamun, rasmalai, motichoor, and mysore pak. Rasmalai was the clear winner for me- creamy, balanced, not cloying. Gulabjamun and mysore pak held their own too, just good classic mithai flavors done right. They also offer non-Indian flavors, but I didn't try those this visit, so I stuck with the traditional lineup. The tiny packaging is great for sampling, and honestly more sweet shops should do that. I've walked past this place several times, and while I thought it looked nice and clean, I never really looked into it until recently. Saw it had good reviews, and flavors of ice cream that I've never heard of before. Figured it would be nice to try something new so I gave it a shot. While deciding which flavors to get, I overheard some customers talking behind me about how this place had some amazing ice cream, but that it's worth it to try the Indian flavors, so that's what I got. The 2 flavors I got were Gulab Jamun and Malai Kulfi. I've had Gulab Jamun before, but not as an ice cream. Have to say, it works so well! You get the rich creamy ice cream and some bits of donut mixed in as well. It had the flavor of the syrup as well, and the bits of cardamom cut through the richness of the ice cream. You can get samples of any flavor before buying and they also have a small deep freezer on the right with popsicles you can get to go. We've tried their Indian flavors such as Gulab Jamun and Meetha. Both times we told the kids something easier they could understand like "indian donuts" flavor or "ginger rose". Because of this they went crazy for flavors like the Gulab Jumun. The normal flavors like Mango and Lychee are a universal flavor on super hot days. We recently had to lychee and something and the taste was so cool and refreshing. Despite the heavy foot traffic and only one server on duty, she was absolutely hustling and still managed to keep a warm smile the entire time. Major props for the service under pressure. I went with their ice cream flight (four small cups, perfect for the indecisive like me). You also get two tastings per customer before ordering, which is always appreciated when the flavors are this tempting. My ranking of the flavors: 1. Lychee: The clear winner. Rich, fragrant, and packed with real lychee bites that made every spoonful pop. Super refreshing and not overly sweet. 2. Alphonso Mango: Sweet, creamy, and classic. If you love mango desserts, this one delivers that smooth, luscious flavor you're hoping for. 3. Custard Apple: Good overall, but I could definitely taste the added sugar, which slightly masked the natural fruit flavor. 4. Chikoo: Unfortunately the weakest of the four. There were a lot of different options, and we even tried a couple of samples, but we ultimately decided to just get a pint of the Black Sesame Crunch. It was creamy and wasn't too sweet. After scooping the ice cream, another employee told the employee helping us something. The employee helping us then began taking the cups he was going to give to us and scooped ice cream out of our cups back into the serving container, which left a bad taste in my mouth. (It's not cheap ice cream and the serving size for the flight is already tiny.) I like it for its unique flavors. I don't like the stinginess of the business. Oh my gosh this place is crazy busy! Came here on a Saturday night at 9pm. There was a long line, and I swear not from 9pm to closing (11pm) the line did not die. There was a constant flow of customers. Now I know why! The ice cream is really good and fresh. I'm very surprised that they had actual natural ingredients in it. I ended up getting the lychee and black sesame flavor. There was real lychee chunks in the ice cream and lots of sesame for sure in the other scoop. My only complaint is that for $6 a scoop. It's way too small. Almost want to drop a star for that, but the ice cream is super solid. Just be prepared to wait in line. Have no seating unless your super lucky. There were less people during lunch so I had a chance to sample a few flavors and went with 3 scoops of Falooda, Rose Pistachio, and Blueberry Lavender. I was also lucky to receive a free tote bag filled with sweet treats from local bakers in San Jose and a free ice cream pint to take home. My verdict: Falooda- a bit icy. I expected some toppings in there like vermicelli and sweet basil seeds. Instead it's more rose flavored Rose Pistachio- lots of pistachio bits with rose flavor yet not too sweet Blueberry Lavender- interesting combination of blueberry with lavender essence which is suitable for springtime Their ice cream was light and didn't feel bloated since there was no dairy and eggs involved. Plus it wasn't too sweet like regular ice cream parlors. I even like how clean and organized their store is. It looks small on the outside but there's enough seating. Seems like this is more leaning into Indian flavors among other flavors, not sure if the place in Indian owned. We tried a couple flavors, I think I went with the alfonso mango and tender coconut. The tender coconut is my absolute favorite here. It was creamy and had chunks of young coconut inside. Reminded me of coconut ice cream I had in the Philippines. My love for Indian flavors and ice cream jump for joy every time I get a chance to visit this place. I love how they lean more fruity flavors, they get pretty creative with the south Asian flavors, and their flavors are not too sweet. I had the split scoop of rum and raisin and fig and walnut, a beautiful nutty combo. And they're open late until 10pm!! Hell yeah you have plenty of time after dinner to come by here for dessert. It looks like they have 2 lines I guess where you can just buy pints or where you are actually getting a cup of ice cream. I always appreciate when you can try flavors first before ordering. The creamier, sweeter flavors such as the traditional cookies and cream or the biscoff were my personal favorites. The staff at the time wasn't extremely helpful but they weren't mean either. They just seemed overwhelmed by the business. The place has a few tables to enjoy your sweet treat, but for a summer day it can definitely feel a little stuffy. I have bought multiple scoops and pints in different flavors over the months. Every single one of them is lacking in flavor and is not sweet enough. Have given this place enough tries and have tried multiple ice creams from their menu thinking maybe I'm picking the wrong flavors. But it seems that in general the flavor profile and sweetness both lean on the lower/bland side. Not going to try any further. If you enjoy very mild flavors in your ice cream with less sweetness, maybe this is the place for you.
