Still a delicious and refreshing treat when you are in the area. There are 2 lines. One for cars and one for pedestrians. The line was long for pedestrians but we only had to wait 6 minutes for our order. They are pretty efficient with taking orders and delivering to you while you are in line.
Excellent soft serve ice-creams !! We took a quick stop at pleasanton for lunch on way to Napa and found this gem through a friend's recommendation. This place is legit - excellent soft serves !! All the flavors were excellent. We got 2 smalls and 1 extra small but even that was a lot. Loved them all. Excellent service too. Highly recommended.
Stopped by this ice cream spot on a warm day, so it was the perfect treat! There was a line outside as well as a drive-thru, which says a lot about how popular this place is. Thankfully, the line moved pretty quickly. We waited about 5 minutes before placing our order and another 5 minutes or so before getting to the front to pick up our ice cream. We got the classic vanilla in a cone and cup, and since we had our dog with us, we also got a free pup cup! All of their flavors are solid, but we usually come for the vanilla or chocolate. It's classic, creamy, not overly sweet, and has the perfect texture with just the right amount of flavor. Honestly, some of the best soft serve around! Definitely worth stopping by if you're craving a sweet treat.
Great service, great ice cream and easy all around way to cool off in the area. Drive up and order in your car or go in the shop. Drive thru our favorite. All the staff are always all smiles and nice. Their vanilla soft serve is my favorite and the portions are big! It's such a great deal. A local favorite since foreverrr.
There was no line on a Friday at 5pm and I have to say it's a must try if your ever in the area. The vanilla was so smooth and rich, wasn't heavy at all. The cookie monster genuinely tasted like cookie dough soft serve. And orange had a very good citrusy kick to it while staying a bit creamy! And for only a few dollars, this has to be one of my favorite sweet treats ever. This definitely has an old town vibes to it, just like the rest of pleasanton downtown! Also so perfect that it's next to a park where people just walk around and chill.

The street signs can be a bit confusing, but thankfully the line wasn't long and we were able to order right away. We've tried the pineapple flavor which is just like dole whip, the orange flavor which is like an orange creamsicle, the strawberry flavor which is actually very tart and tastes like candy (not fresh strawberry), the vanilla, and my personal favorite, chocolate. This is the perfect treat after a hot day outside, so we make sure to save some room for this. However, for some reason the service was not great on that day. They weren't friendly at all and when I asked for a reasonable customization, they said no and just wanted to get to the next car (like I said, there was practically no line at this time). Adding stars for the soft serve, but hope customer service improves over time! :)

High praise goes out to the efficiency of the many people who work there, taking orders from the lineup of both people and the drive thru so they can handle the volume! I don't know how they do it! Over the years it's only gotten better- creamy smooth, gelato like density! I bring anyone who's willing to indulge my craving for this ice cream.

I parked nearby and walked up so that we could enjoy our ice cream in the park across the street. I got the lactose free Strawberry soft serve, my husband got vanilla soft serve, and our dog got a free pup cup! We all enjoyed our ice cream. Can't wait to return to try more flavors. We had a very short line at 1pm on a Monday afternoon. Service was quick and efficient.
My friends and I have gotten into a monthly visit to Pleasanton, where we start at the Farmer's market on Saturdays, go do a workout, come back to downtown for brunch, and stop at Meadowlark Dairy. Pleasanton is always so hot, and there's nothing better than ending the day with some ice cream or slushy. Although it is a drive- through, we always get in line. If the sun is particularly bright, there isn't always shade so make sure to wear a hat and sunscreen (I'm talking esp. if those 90+ degrees days). The line never takes too long and they are pretty quick and efficient. I love their root beer floats (or a root beer Diablo I guess?). Their soft serve is fantastic as well but I haven't gone for any on the cone (yet). Meadowlark Dairy is an excellent stop with great value for a cold sweet treat on any day - would recommend!
Wouldn't recommend- once you start going it's really hard to stop. Then you suddenly realize every-time your downtown , everywhere you look there's people eating ice cream cones -pleasantly smiling in Pleasanton- hahah All jokes aside meadowlark is the bomb. I live taking people here for the first time and they are immediately hooked. I went twice in the past week (don't judge me) and ordered the same thing... the Diablo , orange slush with vanilla ice cream. TRY IT! Or don't , so you're not addicted. Oh and the prices.... Super affordable. Maybe like $4 a person if that.

There's even parking signs with ice cream symbols on them! That's how local this place is and it's hard to beat the price of a generous swirl of soft serve for under $5. They have classic flavors like vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry and vegan flavors like strawberry and pineapple. They also have seasonal flavors. When we went, it was peaches and cream. You can either opt for one or two flavors. I've always waited in the line but they also have a drive through; although, I'm not sure how people can enjoy their soft serve while driving at the same time. I've always parked, walked over, waited in the line which goes by super quickly, and then walked over to the park across the street and enjoyed my soft serve. Always a local staple and a must stop if you're in the area.
In spite of a long line, the service was quick. We had our ice cream within 10 minutes. As always the ice cream is excellent. I had the coconut it was yummy! The servers are friendly. The best thing was they were all wearing T-shirts with a negative Yelp review on the back lol
Went on a busy day but oh how we love going to meadowlark! The line was all the way to the driveway where the cars are entering into the driveway. But I was still in and out within 20 minutes. I'm always sooo impressed with the work flow efficiency, the workers (how young and hard working they are! Shoutout to all the amazing and on-top-of-it employees!), and the extremely reasonable prices. Got a root beer float slush for $4 and it is by far the best root beer float we've had!!

Amazing soft serve for a great price but it was a very confusing drive through experience if it's your first time. I've had this place bookmarked for forever and was super excited when I realized I'd be in the area and could finally check it out. You can either order via walk-in or drive through. I opted to do the drive through as I didn't see any available street parking right in front of the ice cream shop. Luckily the drive through line was very short when I came by Tuesday evening around 6 pm. The first confusing thing for me was how to get into the drive through line, as I was coming from the wrong direction. There were no signs for this. Eventually I pulled up and asked one of the workers, and she said the drive through line entrance is on Neal St, coming from the First St direction. The second confusing thing was that there wasn't much of a menu for the drive through. There's just one small sign with a list of their everyday flavors and another one with some new flavors listed, but that was it. It was a spontaneous decision to come here, but had I known, I would've done more research on available flavors. No prices were listed either. After coming, I looked on their IG page and saw a bunch more flavors featured that would've been fun to try. Oh well. I ended up going the most basic route with a small vanilla soft serve. It was ready for me when I pulled up to the inside. The vanilla soft serve was delicious! I'm used to "lighter" soft serves from the fast food chains, but the ice cream here is creamier and more dense, which I absolutely loved. It felt like it had more substance to it. Plus you can't beat the price! It was only $3.50 for a small, which was already very large. read more

This place is ridiculously good... anyone that says otherwise is lying. They get new flavors every week and holy mmmmmmm are they good.... Some shop at Target or wander the isles of TJ Max as self care. We frequent Meadowlark dairy for our self care moment of bliss. If they have multiple flavors we will finish our cones and drive thru a second time just to try them all. Yup, it's that good. My only wish........is that they have a dangling menu like In and Out burger has when they take our order in the drive thru line. Many times after ordering and paying I'll see a sign promoting something new that I want, but it's too late. They have a website, Facebook page and a radio station that helps in these areas... but if you don't know... it's frustrating. I have learned to troll their Facebook page hahaha! read more

Always a staple! Inexpensive, flavorful, and quick soft serve. Definitely a local favorite. Got a banana foster chocolate swirl and classic chocolate vanilla swirl. Both a 5/5. Got it within 2 mins of ordering then headed to the park across the street to enjoy. They recently added a new size: XS for the same price as a S, which I think is fair when someone isn't able to finish a S and goes to waste. Even if it's the same price, since you don't want a stomachache from over stuffing. read more
No long review needed because the line of cars and people wrapping around the block already speaks for itself. They even have a "No Parking" sign with a soft serve emoji to mark where the line starts--you know it's worth the hype. The staff was friendly, the line moved quickly, and the wait wasn't bad at all.For my first visit, I kept it classic with the vanilla and chocolate swirl in a cone, while the person who brought me here ordered enough to last them two days. No toppings are needed. The soft serve speaks for itself, smooth, creamy, made with quality ingredients. Portion was also huge for the price. This spot is definitely one of those places that proves you don't need fancy toppings or crazy flavors to have people lining up around the block. BUT the line moved so fast (10 minutes tops). This isn't your average soft serve. It's creamy, super smooth, and rich without feeling heavy or "too much." The cone stayed crunchy until the very last bite. Rating: 10/10 read more

I tried their plain vanilla and chocolate/vanilla swirl soft serve ice creams and they both were smooth and creamy, not too sweet, and just a nice refreshingly delicious treat especially on a hot day out! I also enjoyed the fact that the soft serve held up and didn't melt super fast and the cone wasn't stale. However, it is best to come early to avoid the lines. Service is fast and staff were friendly. Overall, it's is a cool drive thru spot, but I wouldn't go out of my way to wait in a crowded line or jump my seat out for. However, I am curious to try other flavors/items--perhaps if I'm only in the area. read more
This always hits the spot. I've been lucky to miss the huge crowds every time I've gone. There is a park across the street to sit at. The price is so good and the soft serve is perfect!! Omg the hype is real. We got pineapple with strawberry. My husband loved the strawberry and for me I loved the pineapple it was like dole whip. I thought the drive through experience was great with a baby and dog since it was so Hot. They take card and before you get through drive though your order is ready. Really enjoyed the vanilla ice cream here! It was rich, creamy, and had that classic vanilla flavor that just hits the spot. The waffle cone was fresh and crunchy, making every bite even better. The portion size I took was small scoop which I think was really small maybe because of the waffle cone but the ice cream is really creamy --you definitely won't leave wanting more! There was a long line when we arrived around 5:45 pm on a warm Sunday. The line moved quickly- my friends got an orange slushy and a vanilla and orange diablo. I got a small strawberry cone - I wasn't particularly hungry- but was excited that there were vegan ice cream options! The ice cream flavors are vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, pineapple and orange- and the three fruit flavors are vegan. I wish I had known that you can order two flavors together for a cone- my strawberry cone was delicious and I'll have to order a strawberry and pineapple swirl next time! There's nowhere to sit- it's a drive through or walk through operation. So we took our treats to eat across the street at a nearby park. read more

Best local ice cream shop in town! If you are ever in the area and ask someone about Meadowlark they will know exactly what you are talking about. It's the best cheap ice cream place in the East Bay hands down. I love getting their rotating special flavors like mango, ube, cotton candy, etc. Their staple flavors are vanilla, chocolate, orange, pineapple, and strawberry. You are able to mix flavors as well! Their ice cream are all creamy and hits the spot! It's a fun place to go after dinner or a sweet treat anytime during the day. The line does look really long but it moves really fast. They offer walk ups and drive through. They are also a small grocery store too that sells some dairy products like eggs and milk. read more

Tried Meadowlark for the first time since I was in the area. Drive through was around the corner, it was much quicker to walk up in line. What I love and appreciate is that they don't limit you on the number of flavors you want, even if you get a small! I tried the peaches and cream- didn't really taste much of the peach. Vanilla was probably the best. Pineapple was tart and sour, I 100% recommend getting it with the vanilla and you'll have your dole whip! Chocolate was great as well, cant go wrong. I did try the strawberry but it was very strongly artificial. Don't recommend. I don't think this is a place to go out of your way to try. If you're local, it's a perfect excuse to take a walk and pick up an ice cream. It's cheap, affordable and fun! read more
Thanks to my sister for introducing us to Meadowlark Dairy and their OG location in Pleasanton! After my first visit, I totally see what all the hype is about. Yummy soft serve and a variety of flavor options at an unbeatable price...it's no wonder they have a busy drive-through and a long queue if you want to order in person. IMO a small size is more than enough for one person but if you want to indulge yourself, go big! It's a bonus that you can opt for multiple flavors with each order too. Meadowlark Dairy serves up the perfect treat to beat the heat! read more
Soft serve is pretty good and can't beat the price. They have drive up, which is convenient. The line moves fast. We didn't know and we parked the car but next time we will do drive up. Get the small size with all the flavors. That's enough to share with 2 people. Vanilla is the best. read more

5/5 for the dessert itself. Got a small pineapple orange in a cup. 2/5 for the ambiance, the service, and the parking. First with the parking. I was parallel parking and the girl behind me and the audacity to follow me while I was pulling up to start backing up into a spot. She didn't even bother moving or going around while I was waiting for the spot to open up. There's no dedicated parking spots for this place so it's just street parking so good luck. The line. There's no clear end of where the line actually ends so it ends up being a jumbled mess and since there's a drive through, people don't know how to not block the way for the cars to go through. There's kids riding on bikes up and down the streets and the sidewalks so be cautious of what's around you. The service. Once we figured out where the line was, the teenager walked us over and took our order. She was very rude and had zero customer service. We were a party of 4, and after every single order, she would rush and ask "anything else?!" And I really wanted to reply with "and a better attitude" but I let it go. It wasn't even hot outside for her to have that kind of temper with customers. Like yes, it was busy, but you're doing a job that requires customer service. Hubby & I LOVE the convenience of the drive-thru & will drive out of our way as it's our go-to dessert spot! We're always happy to bring our friends & family to try it as we rave about the place so much. Love the friendly staff and joke of the days! Been waiting forever to try this soft serve place out! It def did not disappoint! We both ordered the small cone and it was still a lot! Love love that it's not too sweet and just the perfect amount! The soft serve ice cream is truly so soft and delicious! I want to go back again alr! It might be a bit tricky to go into the drive thru but just follow the signs and then turn into the right side lane into the drive thru, the staff are quick to take your order and they're ready as soon you turn in! Everyone in the area is holding cones and there's also a cute park nearby to eat your sweet treat ! So good!! read more
Someone who was local told me all about Meadowlark and I had this is my bookmarks for the one to try asap! I went to this location which was more like a drive through. They have soft serves and milkshakes. They also offer seasonal flavors sometimes. Everything I have had here is delicious. The texture is divine and the flavors are on point and not overly sweet. I also like that most of their flavors can we swirled together. Must try if you are in the area! read more

Meadowlark Dairy is a local favorite ice cream shop in Pleasanton and also has a drive thru. It's located in the charming downtown area, which is pretty nice to walk around. I've been two times and it was tasty both times! Expect long lines, but the workers help move the lines quickly! I got the Strawberry Vanilla ice cream and it made for a delicious dessert after dinner. If you're in Pleasanton, definitely give them a try! read more
This is hands down my favorite ice cream spot. I literally make the 25 min drive almost every week because it's that good. The ice cream is super creamy, and they always have fun, unique flavors that make me want to try everything on the menu. So far I've had vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, pineapple, and Rolo. Rolo is my personal favorite. They seriously need to make that one permanent. One of the best parts is that you can mix any flavors you want, which makes it even more fun to customize. I usually get a small, and it's honestly a generous portion but somehow I still finish it every time.. Another underrated plus: it doesn't melt super fast, so you're not dealing with ice cream dripping everywhere. I'm guessing it has a higher milk content because it stays creamy without getting runny. No sticky hands by the end, which is a huge win for me. Also, service here is impressively fast and efficient. What looked like the longest drive-thru line ever moved surprisingly quickly. I had my ice cream in hand in about 15-20 minutes, which honestly exceeded my expectations. Overall, a spot I keep coming back to again and again and definitely worth the drive! read more

The easiest place to park is the fire house arts center. Other than that there is a public dirt lot you can park on across the street..

Not nut based. But they do contain soy.
Is your soft serve ice cream certified Gluten Free for those with ciliac?
You can always ask your server but everything is gluten free except for the cone. Only once have we had a flavor with gluten but we were not allowed to stack it with any other flavor. Or just let your server know you have celiac and you cant have…
Does your soft serveice cream contain gelatin or any other animal by products? Is it vegetarian friendly?
They for sure have some vegan flavors, mostly the fruity ones like strawberry, orange, pineapple, etc. Flavors rotate based on availability but they always have at least a couple vegan ones. The vanilla and chocolate are dairy/milk based though.
We have a severe peanut allergy in the family. Is the soft serve peanut-free? Do any flavors with peanuts share soft serve lines? Thank you!
We do not have any flavors that have nuts. So they are nut free! Just make sure you tell your server you have a severe allergy and they can assure you as well.
How much are the ice cream cones?
$3 for small cone. I believe it is $4 for medium and $5 for large(may be incorrect)
Do you have anything that is non-dairy?
Most of our flavors are non dairy. Our constant non dairy flavors are orange, strawberry and pineapple.
Does the root beer slushee have caffeine?
I don't think they have that on their menu. Though they keep adding new stuff on their menu so it's worth checking out with them.
Do you have a nutrition fact or sugar free ice cream?
No sugar free ice cream, but we will see if we can get nutritional info on our website this week.…
When will you have a new flavor? Is it scheduled weekly or monthly?
Not for a couple weeks. We have pumpkin for a couple more weeks.
Do you make all the packed ice cream, like tin roof, in house? Or are the sourced elsewhere?
All of our packed ice creams are made by crystal creamery in modesto.
