Went to this branch of Salt and Straw on an outing with my family. Service was quick despite it being a busy Friday night, and the Honey Lavender scoop I purchased was very good!
Solid location with kind and quick service! There is minimal seating at salt and straw itself, but there is a bench directly outside and some public seating across the store. The flavors of course rotate, but I really liked the saffron and honey lavender. The inside is tastefully minimal and clean. Overall a good experience and always consistent!
This was my first time visiting this company salt and straw. I've seen it before but the line was just too long. It's a cute little shop and the manager Brandy was super helpful and knowledgeable with so much advice for me. I'll be back for more! Thank you also to Julian for my surprise selection of his favorite. Come and check this out. They also have a nondairy selection as well! That'll be my next selection. Thank you guys!
There is always a line but it goes through relatively quickly, depending on how prepared the people ahead of you are lol! I love how they give yoi metal spoons to try the different flavors rather than wooden spoons which I find makes the ice cream taste weird. Now to the flavors. Unique and tasty with monthly/seasonal flavors that change! Need i say more?!
Honestly, what can I say... my absolute favorite ice cream chain. I love the creativity with the seasonal flavors, and the classic flavors are always completely spot on. Plus, the sweet aroma of waffles and sugar when you approach the store is my favorite part. I always use the app to order ahead on hot days, and the orders are always ready on time with all my favorite flavors in stock. If you go at night after 7 PM, there's typically no line at all. To top it off, the staff is super friendly and they never judge me when I ask to taste 3+ samples. There is no seating inside, but, the location has plenty of outdoor seating. One of the best locations in the bay!
Yummy ice cream place that is always crowded after lunch and dinner time. I tried the seasonal starling sweet potato buckwheat crumble and another flavor that tastes like cinnamon. I love cinnamon. I also got to try strawberry shortcake waffle cone which was yummy! Even though it was crowded, the line went fast. Service was fine. I would come back. Ambiance is fine. There are tables outside the store that you can sit or benches.
We came to get the ready prepared pint. We kept asking SO many questions, Katie at the check out patiently answered all our questions. This was the best customer service I have experience in an ice cream place! Thank YOU. :) Ambiance was very nice. Walked into line, ordered ice cream, then could either sit at the bench outside or just eat inside car. I really like the ice cream flavors, especially the salted caramel, chocolate dough. I would come again just for the ice cream flavors and the best customer service!
Love their unique flavors here! Always smells sooooo good too. If it was guaranteed that I wouldn't have negative blood test results and if money wasn't an issue, I'd be getting a scoop or 2 on waffle cone each day. They have seasonal flavors, and various collabs which makes Salt & Straw fun. I got their lucky charms marshmallow one once on a waffle cone, and loved how it wasn't overly sweet. It did melt faster than I'd like, but it was so good especially in a waffle cone. My daughter really likes their honey lavender flavor, which I think is there year round or most times aka not a seasonal/limited time flavor. I went again cause I heard about their collab with Taco Bell. Cinnamon-ancho ice cream gets packed into a hand-pressed, sog-resistant waffle cone taco, then dunked in dark chocolate and studded with crunchy puffed quinoa, with a couple sauces in packets - mango jalapeño and wild berry cinnamon. The taco ice cream was good, but I prefer regular ice cream in a waffle cone each the sauces were good as well, esp the mango jalapeño, though they overpower the ice cream a bit. Service has been great each time we visited. I sampled their Parker house roll ice cream (a Thanksgiving flavor) and it was quite interesting!

So, we parked at an indoor lot instead. Then stopped by security when walking out onto that wing. Later found out about the $1M jewelry armed robbery by nearly 2 dozen ppl. Scary to think what if we ran right into that mess for coming earlier?! Anyhoo, I was initially excited to come across this nationwide artisan creamery when we walked down after reparking, but to be later disappointed by subtle flavors. V I B E S . . . Boujee outdoor mall that was dead on a Mon at 4p. Rich teens def spending parents' $$ here. I also recall seeing suburban moms w/ littles & strollers. Enter into a wide, short space. Line maze & merch towards the left & togo pints fridges on the right. Ah, no glass cases to peek the ice cream. Idk, just felt weird to me. N O M S ?? . . . Unique flavors, but what a shame to be sooo mild that I could not even make them out!!!! $12 for a double waffle cone - Honey Lavender | eh - Hazelnut Cookies & Cream | no nuttiness. Okay, um...why have I not written a review yet for this place??? I've definitely checked in here too many times to count. This place is located in the City Center. I always look forward to see what new monthly flavors they have in store. They always have such creative flavors and are not afraid to delve into the savory realm. Service is always great and it's become almost like a tradition to stop by here at least once a month. The latest flavor I tried was the great candycopia which consists of homemade candy bar bites embedded in salted butterscotch ice cream. Definitely a winner! Looking forward to see what they have in store for next month. I'll be back soon.
Good and unique ice cream flavors. They currently have ice cream tacos in the freezer section. I had the marshmallow crispy special flavor it was very good.
I'm not a huge fan of Salt & Straw, but I'm always intrigued with their monthly flavors so will often stop by whenever I can. Bishop Ranch is one of my favorite places to hang out since they have many shops and restaurants. There was a line when we arrived, but don't they all have lines? I always appreciate the friendly staff and cleanliness every time I'm here. I'm usually pretty indecisive when it comes to picking out a flavor, but this time I came here to specifically try The Tacolate. Apparently Salt & Straw did a collab with Taco Bell and came out with a ice cream taco. It was a Cinnamon-ancho ice cream packed in a dog-resistant waffle cone taco, and dunked in dark chocolate and topped with quinoa. I didn't like the ice cream at all since the flavor was too strong. I however did enjoy the waffle cone and surprised that it was crunchy given that it was pre-packaged. I think I would've preferred if they had a selection of flavors to choose from. They also included a pack of the mango jalapeño and another pack of the wild berry cinnamon sauce, which I thought was just ok and can go without them. A little disappointed to be honest given the taste, price and size of the ice cream. Hoping they can introduce more flavors in the future because I most likely won't pick this up again.
This is a quick service type of establishment. Although they always have a line around the corner, they are efficient with service. Their flavors are unique and they are not stingy with their samples! I have visited a few and this location is the most efficient. The vibe inside is like an old school ice cream parlor! Great visit, will keep coming back!
Coming back from the Peninsula we knew we'd be near San Ramon, so I thought to check if there were any interesting ice cream places. I like shops that make their own high-quality, premium ice cream with interesting flavors as a bonus. The oddly named Salt and Straw seemed to fit the bill - that's all we needed to check it out! It turns out they are in the Shops at Bishop Ranch, quite a nice location. There was a decent line (always a good sign) and lots of people outside eating their ice cream. It's purely a to-go location, no seating. I was impressed by their organization, having three different people serving orders. They replicate their ice cream assortment behind the front counter for all servers can serve customers - this was a first for us. They are more efficient than my local bank! A cool little thing is they use metal spoons for their samples and there's a discard hole in the front counter wall to dispose of the used spoons. The samples definitely taste better with a metal spoon versus the normal plastic things. I had the Salted, Malted, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough - props for the creative name! My wife had the Cinnamon Snickerdoodle. We strolled outside and found a table to try these guys out. Oh my. From the first bites we were sold. This cookie dough was unlike any I've ever had, truly unique and bursting with flavor. My wife loved her Cinnamon Snickerdoodle, real cinnamony! We have never had better ice cream. A new Gotta Stop By whenever we are around San Ramon. read more

Ice cream is ice cream. The decor and ambiance gives high quality, posh vibes. And the price is very reasonable. Affordable. The ice cream was good and the staff had wonderful customer service skills. They greeted everyone upon entry and even gave eye contact. Kudos to them. read more

Second time here, place was empty when we walked in. There's special flavors that are for a limited time only and variety of regular flavors to pick from. No seating inside, but outside there's places to sit and things to do or walk around. I ordered salted caramel ribbon and it was really good. My son had vanilla something (I forgot the name) with waffle cone. Service was great! read more

It was a super hot day in San Ramon and we just finished an escape room adventure. So we needed to cool down with a treat. The place is clean and nice but (as always) has no indoor seating. The service was excellent, efficient and friendly. They gave us samples before (and after) our order. The ice cream itself is excellent. All of the "normal" flavors are exceptional and they have some unique flavors (eg pear and blue cheese) which we tried but didn't actually order. The waffle cone is fresh and crispy. I think this place is a new addiction. read more

Looking for the best Ice Cream in town? Well you found it! My favorite place to get Ice Cream. Please don't be intimited by the line, it is worth the wait!! Service is fast and everyone is so friendly. I love how they don't mind doing samples, in fact they encourage it. The ambiance is cute and fun. It always smells delicious! Nice ice cream shop with classic and interesting flavors. Staff were friendly and patient as I sampled a few flavors. I ended up ordering a classic salted, malted, chocolate chip cookie dough single scoop in a cup and it was very sweet. More decadent than normal cookie dough ice cream as it had ribbons of chocolate fudge. They had a few benches with outdoor seating, but it is located in the city center that has a large open area with plenty of other seating options not far away. Nice place to stop on a hot day for a sweet treat. read more
This place was bustling! Stopped by after dinner on a Sunday night was surprised at the crowd. You wait in line and a guy tells you which counter person will help you. The server was friendly and was working hard getting samples for everyone- clue: there are holes in the counter cabinets to throw away your tasting spoons. They have very unique flavor combos that don't necessarily sound great together but somehow taste really good. We liked the strawberry and coconut water, sour cherry, and salted caramel among others. Never one to turn down ice cream, I rallied my friends to join me at Salt & Straw after dinner at one of the nearby restaurants at City Center. Despite the shop being nearly empty on a Sunday evening (in the winter, I might add), the servers shepherded us quickly through the tasting and ordering queue. I sampled the seasonal cocoa nib frangipane and snickerdoodle flavors, and I loved both so much that I opted for a half scoop of each. Since the aroma of freshly-baked waffle cones filled the shop, it was a no-brainer to go all-out and order my ice cream in a cone. The ice cream was superb, although I wish the waffle cone had been a bit crispier. (perhaps it had been freshly baked?) The snickerdoodle ice cream paired especially well with the waffle cone, but the cocoa nib frangipane flavor was my favorite. I love how Salt & Straw constantly rotates and introduces new flavors, although I'm looking forward to the return of Blackberry Birthday Cake. read more
We visit this Salt & Straw location everytime we visit family. This location is in the City Center Bishop Ranch mall, parking can be difficult especially on a busy weekend, but honestly worth it everytime. We do not have a Salt & Straw in Reno, so we make it a point to visit everytime one is nearby! The line has always been out the door, but the staff is very good with quickly getting through the busy crowd. They are always incredibly friendly, we usually come in with 7 people and we are all eager to sample 2-3 flavors before deciding. I have never felt rushed to decide no matter how busy they are and I really appreciate this experience everytime. This time around I was still pretty full from dinner, but torn between 2 flavors. I learned about a "split scoop", which is half a scoop of 2 different flavors. I got half Wild-Foraged Berry Slab Pie and half Chocolate Gooey Brownie. I look forward to testing out new flavors on the monthly menu each time we visit, they are all so creative and delicious. If you haven't been to Salt & Straw yet, it's a must try. For sure one of my favorite ice cream places I've ever been to. read more
