Forest & Flour opened where a Starbucks once was. Infrastructure inside looks similar save the new murals, paintings, artifacts on the walls. F & F sells bake that are ZERO gluten, corn, peanut, dairy. Drinks, weekly Yums also sold. 7 farmers markets around the Bay Area sell their bakes. Patio seating in the rear available. Soft music in background. Short line, prompt courteous service. Sips: drip coffee (6.85) supernova blend -slightly bold. Easy sipping light roast brew. Black. Bites: Vegan Devil's Chocolate Cake slice (7.50) -soft, moist, savory fluffy cake with semi-sweet chocolaty taste. Not oversweet. 5 stars Worthy. Quantity: reasonable. Quality: Excellent. Top ingredients utilized *no tips accepted.

Pretty place. Provides free WiFi. I had the nesty eggs with salad. The preparation was really good. The dish however seemed overpriced for the quantity of food. I also had the tea. I wasn't impressed by the tea. The quantity of leaves in the pot was too much. They can easily reduce it to make it more enjoyable.

Food: my friend and I were here to get brunch, and ready to enjoy a nice catchup. When we see the price of the drink we were shocked (especially the matcha) so we decided to grab a bite and find somewhere else. The avocado toast tasted fantastic! It's loaded with nutritious greens and seeds, which gives the toast a good balance of crunchiness. Service: super nice and helpful. Got our utensils and napkins from the self assisted area. Ambiance: it's very cozy and quiet.

Yum yum. Everything was so good. I am Lactose intolerant and they have do many options for me. The vibe was chill and service was pretty quick. I loved the tea so much that i took it To-go. Cake was very soft and yummy

Cosy little cafe with lots of cute plants and artwork. My friend and I stopped by for a quick lunch. We ordered the Avocado toast, grilled cheese and chocolate cake with strawberry frosting. Although we were surprised by the small portions, the food was fresh and delicious. All Gluten, dairy, nut free and well presented. The service was quick and the staff were generally helpful. Also loved the reusable dishes, silverware and compostable take out containers. One area for improvement is better organization- there was a bunch of clutter in the small space available. They had a lot of cardboard boxes on either side of the cafe which took away from the ambiance. Also, they very busy with bakery orders or so it seemed. I wanted to get a Lavender Lemonade to go after the meal and it took a while to get their attention to place the order. Overall a great option for those looking for GF and dairy free options. Plants were a plus. ;)

It was our first time swinging by Forest & Flour just now. It was a cute little shop that's allergen friendly. My partner is gluten free so this is for sure going to be a keeper for us. We ordered decaf coffees as our drinks. For a snack, he ordered the lemon ginger poppy muffin and I ordered the monkey party. We enjoyed both pastries and the coffees were delightful. Definitely worth giving this place a try for sure!!!

We came here on a Sunday, early afternoon. They have their own parking lot and parking was plentiful. We entered in and loved the decor and how cute of a cafe it was. Lots of plants and greenery everywhere. On top of that, everything is gluten free which is very much appreciated! Because they use premium ingredients, item prices are reflected accordingly. We specifically came to try the rose drinking chocolate and focaccia and to our luck, both were out of stock! We ended up getting an apple ginger muffin which was delicious. Appreciated the recommendations that were provided and how we were greeted. We will definitely come back and try again soon!

Maybe they change their menu quite often. I saw congee and persimmon salad on the yelp page but there was none when I went today. We ordered the egg toast with salad, avo toast, ginger tumeric bread etc. The salad tastes and looks good. Others look interesting but very expensive. I would have expected more for the price. The seating area is quite charming but not many people stayed during lunch time.

Really enjoyed my stay here at Forest and Flour, the ambiance is so nice and the layout is so unique! The London Fog was delicious, and the Avocado toast was exactly what I wanted for a little brunch, with delicious gluten free bread and fat slices of avocado. The service is really nice and brought out our food directly to our table which I loved, and the interior decor!

Forest & Flour is a charming little spot with beautiful art adorning the space and an inviting atmosphere. The staff was incredibly friendly, and I loved that everything on the menu was gluten-free--something my stomach definitely appreciates these days. The walnut chocolate chip cookie was easily one of the best cookies I've ever had--perfectly balanced in flavor and texture. The carrot muffin, on the other hand, fell a bit short for me and could have used a little more flavor. The lavender lemonade was a delightful surprise--refreshing and well-balanced without that overpowering, soapy taste you sometimes get elsewhere. I had already had my coffee for the day, so I didn't get to try their caffeinated drinks, but the menu looked fantastic. I'll definitely be back to sample their caffeine offerings--and, of course, to get another one of those incredible cookies!

I was excited to try a new coffee place here, but wow this place is so expensive. The inside is nicely decorated and there's a few tables. The baristas are all really nice. We wanted the monkey bread muffin, but they were out so we got the cinnamon streusel muffin and a cinnamon maple latte. The latte was good. It wasn't too sweet, but it was almost $9. The muffin was delicious, but it isn't enough to make me go back. Since the prices are so high, I probably won't come back here.

I was so excited to see such a quaint coffee shop. I ordered the grilled cheese, and was provided with a bite size portion. It was a bit disappointing, but I trust that the cheese was extra special. The avocado toast was nourishing. Might have to get something else if I come back.

There's no seating area inside the bakery, but there are some tables outside next to a water fountain. Of the times that I've been there, it's mostly empty and clean, and the trash bins are not overflowing. The donuts are absolutely delicious. The brioche donut is soft but holds the fillings in well. There's also a bit of crunch from the sugar on the outside of the donut. There's an ample amount of filling, so you get to taste the flavors. So far, my favorites are Irish cream, lemon blueberry, and banana cream. It is a bit messy to eat, so have napkins and a small plate to catch any sugar or filling that may fall out when you bite into it. We had their chocolate chip cookie. It looked like a big mound of baked dough. Overall, it was okay. I would easily skip this for the donuts instead. I haven't tried their coffees, but my daughter loves the hot chocolate, and I have been enjoying their calamansi juice. It's nice and tart, not too sweet. I have seen some savory options but have not tried them. I will be back to explore the menu.

Husband called them around 11am and they said they were in the middle of making their strawberry cakes so they could add our order in for a same day pickup at 4pm. Pickup went well and the cake was so cute and it tasted great! Like the Chinese bakery strawberry cream cake with a moist sponge cake; not too sweet, just right. Might sound basic but it was done very well. Would 100% recommend. I don't know prices for cakes nowadays but I didn't feel bad paying about $60 for a cute and tasty cake (6", strawberry cream cake). I wouldn't bank on same day pickups, I might've just been very lucky they were in the middle of making their cakes but it wouldn't hurt to try calling early in the day if you're in a pinch for a solid cake. I'm very thankful for their service!

Finding parking isn't difficult…read morebut might take a minute on busy days, as it shares a parking lot with the rest of a popular plaza. The store itself is easy to find as well, with a clear label outside. Walking in, it looks half-closed--their cakes are all stored in a large refrigerator, with nothing in the case on the counter. There is a sign proclaiming "takeout only" in slight disarray, and the seating is pushed to the side. That said, the service is friendly and the employees are quick to help you and show you what they have in stock for takeout. I ordered the 4" Berry Berry Light Cake for a birthday, and they were able to write a birthday message on the cake board, which I really appreciated. The cake also tasted very light and the sweetness was subtle, which I really enjoyed. The berry flavor in the sponge was a little too subtle, though. My main concern is that the cake does not fully resemble the picture they advertised online. It is missing the freeze-dried berries on top, and the berry glaze did not reach as far down the cake as was shown in the photo. Because the berry glaze is the main source of the berry flavor, this was a little disappointing. Also, the cake was not finished when I came to pick up the cake (and I was ~5 minutes late). I'm uncertain if this is for freshness or if there is another reason. Overall, I like the spot for the fresh and light cake. It's pleasantly unique compared to your standard sheet cake, and everything is rather cute. However, it may be a better idea to buy the cakes in-person to be 100% sure of what it will look like, though daily stock is definitely more limited than if you place an order online. I hope they reopen their indoor seating soon.

The dough is so soft and pillowy with a crispy layer of bruleed sugar and a delicious banana cream that was absolutely to die for. At $6.50, it's not a cheap treat, but it was super delicious and I'm glad we tried it. The drinks were also great. The espresso shot they pulled perfectly complemented the oat milk -- this is one of the better iced oat lattes I've had. For starters this location is definitely a more pickup and go location. There is very limited seating and the space is also a lot smaller. But what they lack in space they make up in efficiency. I've never had an issue picking up anything here either through online orders or simply walking in to grab a cake. The staff are always on top of things. Now let's talk about the cakes. If you don't order ahead of time or reserve a cake in advance, then expect the consequences of not planning ahead. The cakes they have on display or the back may not taste the freshest. But in my particular case, I've been fortunate enough that every cake I bought from here was fresh and moist. The staff would even be kind enough to grab one from the back for me without even asking. I bring this up because for bakeries through put is very important on how fresh their products are and this location definitely goes through their inventory constantly. For mother's day they basically ran out of all their cakes so plan ahead for those big occasions. What I also appreciate is they are always able to do a special message for you free of cost, and I always end up tipping extra because you can rarely find this type of service at other cake shops. Because of their flexibility and availability, I will always recommend this location to family, friends and to you as well. Plan ahead and this place won't disappoint. Looking forward to continue coming back here.

I really despise paying $8 for a slice the size of a cupcake but my kid loves this damn rainbow cake. Next time I'll just a whole cake

Delicious fresh pies! Great owner, being my first time here…read moreI had questions and he was super cool and patient, answering all my questions. Now for the options, they all sounded good and were hard to choose from! I like that they have specials of the month, seasonal, and mainstays. I choose one of monthly specials coconut pudding, and mainstay french silk. I also ordered the cheese burger hand pie for my husband, which he loved! The coconut pudding pie was sooo good, loved the texture and flavor, they had toasted coconut on the side to add on top. The fresh silk pie was my favorite! It was not overly chocolatey and had a nice mousse texture, there was an under layer of crisp ganache that made all the flavors and textures pop! The crust is nice and buttery and flakey. These were not heavy pies, just creamy light melt in your mouth. They also have frozen pies so you can take and bake yourself. This definitely satisfied my sweet tooth, and will be back this time to order a whole pie!

Love this place so much!! It's owned by a local family who are always there running the shop…read morewhenever I stop by, and that really comes through in both the service and overall feel of the place. Both the sweet and savory pies are delicious, and I like that they rotate their menu with a mix of classic and more unique flavors. It makes it fun to keep coming back and trying something new. Some of my favorites over time have been the chocolate chess, cheeseburger, and berry custard pies. All very different, but all really good in their own way. Would recommend this spot to anyone looking for pie!! There are honestly not a lot of places around that you can get crafted pies from, so I think they fill a niche market here - a market that I am certainly a part of.
