We happened to be nearby and were in search of a coffee and Doughweime happened to be in the same shopping complex so we walked over to give it a try. There were a few people in line and it did take about 10 minutes before we were able to order. During that time, some of the malasada flavors ran out, but they were quickly replenished. We grabbed an assortment of flavors, an iced oat latte, and a black sesame latte. The banana creme brulee malasada looked so good that we had to try it in the store while waiting for our drinks. The dough is so soft and pillowy with a crispy layer of bruleed sugar and a delicious banana cream that was absolutely to die for. At $6.50, it's not a cheap treat, but it was super delicious and I'm glad we tried it. The drinks were also great. The espresso shot they pulled perfectly complemented the oat milk -- this is one of the better iced oat lattes I've had. We tried the black sesame latte because it sounded interesting and it was so creamy and loaded with black sesame flavor. For anyone that doesn't drink caffeine, I highly recommend you try the black sesame latte. With such great quality malasadas and drinks, it's no wonder there was a line! Picked up some malasadas after a morning hike! Not my first time here but it's been a while since my last visit. This place is located near seafood city and there's plenty of parking. Service was friendly. There's barely any seating inside just a couple of chairs outside. I ordered the mini malasadas so I can try more flavors. I ordered the mango sago, guava cheesecake, vanilla bean, and matcha. Each donut is crafted to perfection. Not too sweet and the texture of the dough is light. They're a bit pricey at $6.50+ each, but with many rotating creative flavors, it's hard to not pick just one. The Ube malasada did not taste artificial nor was it too sweet. I like to think they are poi malasadas haha It would be nice if their hours were more consistent since seasonal flavors sell out quickly. They are only open a few days out of the week unfortunately, but they do sell out fast so it's better to go earlier in the day. Cute neighbourhood Malasada place with an interesting aesthetic. They have limited seating and usually a line of people queueing up in the store so I think it's mostly a pickup place. We got the vanilla bean mini and the Rocher mini Malasada. The vanilla Malasada was really subtle with fresh cream and vanilla filling. Recommend it if you like your desserts less sweet. The rocher one was sweeter and tasted like a chunky Nutella filling inside their sugar dusted Malasada. We enjoyed both! I appreciate they do the mini versions of some of their flavors now as it allows us to sample more - wish they brought mini versions of all their flavors soon! I can't even begin to tell y'all how many times I've tried to come through for Doughweime and ran into them being on vacation. It felt like luck was against me and I was meant to stick with Bun Appetit, but entering 2026, I finally had enough. I need to try this place and so after confirming they were open (I checked their IG), I came here with my husband on a Saturday morning. First off, it's located in the same plaza as Seafood City. This was also the moment I realized there's a Seafood City in Union City. There's plenty of parking all around and no need to worry about paying. The shop itself is small wit a bench to the side and small outdoor seating. Luckily, it wasn't busy when we swung by so we were able to take our time and review all the options available. The display case of flavors was smaller than what Bun Appetit has to offer, but don't sell them short because of that because Doughweime understands flavor. We opted for a box of 6 minis for my husband's family, a regular sized earl grey and a lemon one for us personally, and their black sesame latte. The latte alone is worth a return visit. We stopped by about 30 minutes before closing, and almost everything was wiped out! Luckily, I was able to grab their last banana and grape oolong malasadas. First of all, the presentation of these malasadas is incredible, and I love the unique flavors that this bakery has! Since I brought this to a party, I wasn't able to try all the flavors, but the raspberry pistachio & creme brulee matcha went quickly! I only had a taste of the strawberry hojicha - I'm kind of picky with my hojicha, and felt that they flavor of the tea wasn't really apparent. The flavors are so creative, malasadas light and fluffy with a delicious filling. I wish we could have tried more flavors but the other pastry items caught my eye this visit. Pro tip if you're driving from as far away as I am you can call ahead place your order ahead of time to reserve your favorite flavors. My favorites this time around were the crème brûlée malasada, ube mochi donut, and the Dubai chocolate croissant, I finally get the obsession with the Dubai chocolate! The filling was crunchy, hints of chocolate with pistachio crème flavored kataifi seriously so good and wrapped in a croissant. I could eat the entire thing myself. A lot of sugar for the morning but never a bad way to start the day. All the malasadas were sooo good. I liked how they didn't skimp out on the filling. Omg lowkey the most busting salt bread of my LIFE. I asked for it toasted so it was so crunchy and crispy and salty omg I inhaled it. The malasada were also SO GOOD. I usually don't like donut-type desserts but these were amazing. The pineapple yogurt one was especially good, it had the tartness that balanced out the sweetness and so many pineapple chunks. Mango sago pomelo was also amazing, you could see the chunks of pomelo and sago inside. Each malasada is generously filled and you can tell the ingredient are high quality. I tried just two flavors of the malasada from last weekend and I'm already hooked! Seriously so good and the ideal not-too-sweet. I had the banana pie and campfire cherry. The banana pie was so light yet had such a potent banana flavor. It tasted natural and not super artificial. Loved the banana on top that was sweet with a slight bitter char crunch coating. The campfire cherry was really rich with dark chocolate and cherry filling. Something great for chocolate lovers unlike myself, but I could definitely appreciate the detail put into the flavor. All the malasadas had such soft bread and the filling just added to the airiness of it all. Definitely want to come back to try more flavors. Although I didn't go into the sho myself, I've heard from others that the owners are really nice! Then, while I was waiting in line, a woman that came after me apparently told her friend in the back which donuts she wanted, and they took most of the remaining donuts before people actually waiting in line could order. My favorite donut shop in the East Bay! They have a rotating menu that changes every two weeks and is posted Thursday night. You can either preorder a set box (6 donuts, flavors predetermined) or show up to pick your own. They also sell whole or slices of basque cheesecake and an assortment of croissants/cookies and coffee drinks. Their malasadas are usually Asian-inspired flavors such as mango sago, pandan coconut, and milk teas. I usually go every few weeks to try their new offerings and I've loved nearly every flavor I've tried. They're not heavy and can be stored in the fridge and eaten cold over several days (if you want to warm them up, I would suggest doing so at a low power level and in small increments to avoid melting the filling). Some of my personal favorites are the persimmon, the smoked salmon lox, the mango sago, and pandan coconut. The fruit flavors in particular are outstanding as they use fresh fruit inside. The croissants and cheesecakes are amazing too. The shop is a bit small with two seats by the window and two small tables. It's mostly a grab and go place. I would recommend going early in the day (before 12pm, especially on weekends!) as they can sell out of flavors quickly. Sometimes I've shown up at 11am and they've been sold out of a particular flavor. The staff are super sweet and offer suggestions if you can't decide what to get. The donuts are a bit pricey (around $6 and some specialty flavors can be up to $6.50) but I believe taking quality and taste into consideration, it's worth it. I also love supporting local businesses, especially one that is thoughtful and clearly loves their craft. The service does slightly need improvement, because they kinda forgot about the iced latte. They also thought that I wanted 2 malasadas when I wanted one. The Ube Coconut tastes really good. I like when they added Ube cake piece I believe. The main issue is the iced latte I ordered. For some reason, it tastes weird. Not sure if it's because of the espresso or the whole milk? If it's because of whole milk, it tends to rotten quicker than oatmilk. Maybe I could have substituted with that instead. We go here when cravings for pillowy, soft, not-super-sweet malasadas is strong. Which is often. lol This spot is in the same complex as Seafood City Supermarket. I heard they used to frequent the Farmer's Market in Old Niles but didn't hear about them until I saw the "coming soon" at door when I saw going for my regular run for pandesal and corned beef. They have a rotating menu and are only open Thursdays to Saturday. They post their flavors for the week in their IG and any other specials they have for the week and vacation notices, etc.. In the beginning, the wait times for this place was maybe 45mins to an hour but that is not the case anymore, luckily. You can get your donuts pretty quickly now. I would still go earlier than later because they tend to run out of the more famous flavors earlier in the day. Another thing to note (that kinda grinds my gears but not too much) is they use the ube dough for other flavors at end of day when they run out of the regular dough. Flavor wise it isn't really different it is just bright purple in color. So far my favorites are the hojicha, mango coconut, pandan, matcha. I have also tried their butter mochi, it was pretty good. Saw they started making coffee too but I haven't tried it yet. Maybe next time. If I'm in the area I'll get there earlier, but I wouldn't drive out of my way to return. The donut was just alright, there's a lot of mochi donuts and dressier donuts out there these days, so I didn't feel that Doughweime's was particular worth the price tag. Parking is shared in a plaza, and shop is small and clean. Not much space for eating in, most people just take it to go or enjoy it with their coffee drinks in their small outdoor seats. read more

Personally I'm not a huge fan of their sweet malasadas, which is why I decided to try out their savory pastries. We got salt bread, gochujang cookie, smoked salmon malasada and the maple bacon scallion croissant. my favorite was the salt bread; it's crispy on the outside and soft/chewy on the inside. it was so good that i had to go back the next day and get more. i will definitely be coming here a lot now. the bread reminds me of my korea trip. read more

Come early or order beforehand! We came around 1 pm on a Sunday and saw lots of donuts available but unfortunately there were online orders that took precedent. We ordered a latte that took 15 minutes to make and was a bit watered down as well as banana bread. The banana bread was pretty good but will have to come back to try their donuts. Lots of parking as it is part of a complex and some seating inside and outside. read more

I had high expectations before coming in since they were all over my feed. I love malasadas, but I haven't found ones here that tastes the same as the ones in Hawaii. I was surprised that there wasn't a line when we arrived. The bakery is small but is very clean. I was impressed with the wide variety of flavors. They all looked extremely delicious. We ordered two items - vanilla crème brûlée and mini ube malasada. I'm sad to say that they were just very average and tasted like expensive sugar donuts. read more
