    Pork Siomai

We always order the siomai here when we're craving siomai cause it's cheaper - 12 pieces for $10. The siomai tastes good. The lady always ask me to buy more other goods but I just buy the siomai :-)

Lots of backed pastries I didn't try

DIMSUM AT 6:45 AM. I'm an early riser and donut shops are often the only place open early in the morning. Always trying to find interesting savory items since I've had enough hotdog rolls, and bagel/croissant breakfast sandwiches to last a lifetime. They open much earlier than Taipan Express and I thought it would be cool to try dimsum and donuts for breakfast. Traditional Donut Offerings: Donut holes were OK, my wife is the household expert and ate all of them but said local places were better. Ham and cheese croissant for the kids had thick cut ham and cheddar which were great but the croissant part was a but dry and we had to force our kids to finish it. Dimsum: Steamed pork dumpling had a heavy amount of basil, not in a bad way, never had it before like this and it was quite good. Har gow was OK as well. Not so great was the cheung fun which my wife normally loves. Super thick rice paper and barely any shrimp in it. The macau pork bun was the first time I've ever had it and I'm sure it's supposed to be better than the one I had. The reason for the overall review is I swear the owner was trying to hustle me. She was adding up the order out loud and seemed to be making up prices on the spot. Our total should have been around $25 but she asked for $42, I looked at the receipt and she charged $14 for a dozen donut holes "accidentally". She also shoved fried fish cakes and vegetable eggrolls into the bag saying I had to try them, I thought they were a free samples for the kid but she charged for them and by then I just wanted to leave and didn't want her fishing the random stuff she threw in out of our order.

A 3.5 star hole in the wall! Apparently this has been here for so many years and I never would have guessed if it wasn't for my mom! Hidden in the back corner of the donut shop, lies some delicious dim sum all at great prices! TIP: -when you go inside, make sure you already know what you want otherwise you may end up leaving with more food than you came for, lol. There are steamed items, stir fried and baked items. There are no set prices that I've seen and everything was pretty much given to us in bulk. For example, there was still HK noodles left in the pan and the worker gave us everything for $10. All the items we got were $10 each and I'm not sure if that's the regular pricing of everything. The worker was a bit assertive when taking our order. She always had suggestions and started to pack the food before we even decided. She also gave some food tips. She said the wonton soup is thick enough to be a sauce for the shu mai. And it indeed paired well! The food was indeed delicious and there were some misses, such as the HK noodles. I didn't care for it at all. The food was great and if you need your quick dim sum fix, I suggest!

The beef chow fun was pretty greasy but that's pretty typical with this dish, the color was pretty nice on the noodles too 4/5. They offer Jasmine hot tea or chrysanthemum hot tea, and water when requested. Again pretty typical Dim Sum experience, nothing too extravagant or out of the ordinary, and a bit pricey. I would go here again with my family, probably not first choice though

We ordered some of our usual dim sum favorites, including shiu mai, har gow, chicken feet, steamed pork ribs in black bean sauce, and the shrimp spring rolls. Everything tasted really good, and the portions were generous! Even though they don't have a huge selection, they do have most of the classic dim sum dishes I like, so I had no complaints. The flavors were spot on, even without soy sauce, and I didn't feel thirsty after the meal at all, which is already a good sign. I was a bit disappointed with the har gow wrapper because it was a bit too floury. The shrimp spring rolls were fried so much that the shape completely changed, and I couldn't recognize them at first. Overall, we paid around $38ish for two people, which was a really good value for the portion sizes. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I noticed that a lot of people were ordering takeout as well. Highly recommended!

They had to take us out of the restaurant and reenter from the side of the building to go upstairs. The second floor looked just as nice, clean, and spacious. I might even prefer it because it's quieter, more peaceful, and just more comfortable overall. As for the food, most of what we tried was delicious. We ordered some staple dim sum items like pork siu mai and har gow, and both were really good. I also tried the shrimp and scallop dumplings, which are similar to har gow, and those were pretty tasty too. We also got the fried rice with salted fish, and it was made in a "yang chow" style, so it was rather pale in color, but don't let that fool you, because it was really flavorful. We also ordered their fried calamari, which was meh at best and was nothing special. That was probably my least favorite dish. We also got lo mai gai and deep fried taro dumplings filled with pork. Overall, the food was really yummy. The service was great too. The staff were attentive and quick to bring extra chili sauce and other condiments when we requested them. Some stuff was overcooked and our fish dish and some of the crab was a little under cooked, while some dishes were swimming in oil.
