First time here and it's becoming my new Union City spot! Nice little spot in the same open mall as Marina Market located at the corner. Has pictures and menus on the wall to help you distinguish the different options. There's a lot to choose from drink-wise too, and they're so good! So sad because they used to make a good smashed avocado. It tasted very floral almost like soap and the toppings tasted old. I couldn't finish it and it threw out. Such a waste on money. Cam Huong was unexpectedly closed. I found that other Yelpers came here when the same thing happened. So glad I came across it! You can find this restaurant on one of the corners of the shopping center. The inside is simple - 6 tables that had 2 chairs at each one, 6 menu photos on two sides of the wall to highlight some of their items, and strings of lights to give it a little something. The menu is written out with 5 sections: Build Your Own Che, Milk Teas, Fruit Teas, Sandwiches (Bahn-mi), and Rolls. I was the only customer at the time I came in. There wasn't anybody at the front for a while so I had to ring the bell to get a server's attention. She came out within 5 minutes and took my order quickly. NOTE: they charge 75¢ if you pay with card. My order came out within 5 minutes too. I appreciated that it was quick. Sat myself at one of the tables to eat half of my "BM3 Special Ham Combo with Pate Sandwich". I haven't came across a narrow-breaded bahn-mi until now, but I dig it! It's easier to eat that way rather than taking multiple bites of a super wide one. I gotta say, they did not hold out on the pate, which was actually great since some sandwiches are so dry that it's difficult to swallow. A good first time experience so far. Desperate cravings calls for desperate measures. Unfortunately for me, but i took one for the team on this one. I had been craving banh mi and Vietnamese curry, unable to drive i was forced to order delivery. Looking at photos this place looks as though it would be an absolute gem giving off, "hole in the wall" vibes. This was my first time and definitely will be the last time i ever order food from this business (sorry). If there's an appetizer that could continually blow my mind, it would be popcorn chicken. At Che-Lo the this breaded and deep fried snack as probably the best item i had ordered. Don't get me wrong tho, because as tasty and well seasoned the chicken was, it was incredibly dry. Just as i anxiously opened my meal up, i began to eat the grilled pork banh mi which had me questioning my purpose in life. The veggies were cool i don't see how you could go wrong there, but the pork which would be the star of the show tasted so dry i felt like SpongeBob without water all shriveled up. The bread was only mid and leaned towards the more traditional version of a French baguette rather than a Vietnamese style which had me disappointed. Quickly shifting my attention, i began to try the curry with banh mi. One bite was all it took for me to make a sour face as the curry was unbelievably salty. I closed the lid, gave it a good shake, and tried again as i desperately tried to save my meal in hopes that something would satisfy me.
