Starbread is always a great go~to bakery when you have a craving for Señorita rolls! They are freshly baked, warm and just bundles of deliciousness! Location is easy to get to with ample parking. Standing room only in the facility, it's always quick and easy to order. They also offer a variety of fancy donuts and other yummy Filipino baked items, but I always go for the señorita rolls! My kids have thoroughly enjoyed their donuts as well! If you want a tasty and affordable treat to bring to a party - you can never go wrong with Starbread! Everyone will thank you! read more

I loved the señorita bread and the bitso with Nutella perfectly fresh with just the right touch of sweetness, absolutely heavenly. A box of Señorita bread from Starbread is about as nostalgic as it gets! This location is very close to my office so someone always brings a box in whenever we have a big meeting or event. This time, I figured I would be the one to bring the goods, and stopped in at 8:30am on a Friday. Interaction and transaction at the small counter was simple enough, just stating the amount of bread I wanted and receiving the box a couple of seconds later. The bread is always soft and fresh, and best eaten warm! My coworkers and I like eating them with coffee and it brings back so many memories. It may seem simple, but sometimes nostalgia tastes the best. read more

For what they are known for it's good. Buttery with a crunch of sweetness from the sugars that melted and crystallized. Prices are fair but each bread is kinda small, 2-3 bites and it's gone. Other than that tiny spot not many selection of items. It's a hole in the wall type shop. read more

Food is good. But I had the same encounter with the dude that everyone seems to be talking about. 5"10 dude shorts and socks with beanie listening to Rap music...I'll call him the "Starbread Ogre". First time to this location and found it just fine as I was just passing through the area and wanted to grab a box of Senorita Bread. The shop itself is super run down looking, think flickering lights and tape being used to hold stuff up. Looks like it needs a little maintenance. Nonetheless, I was here for the bread. Ordered and waited about 5 minutes for my box of fresh Senorita Bread. Piping hot, melt in your mouth, sweet and delicious bread. Also such a great price as well! First time at this location and the senorita breads are nice and warm, soft, buttery, sugary, and addicting. It's best to be eaten right away when they're fresh and even better with coffee. The size is decent along with pricing. Customer service here definitely can be worked on though--it didn't feel welcoming. They also have other items besides senorita bread. They only allow 1 person at a time inside. read more

Bread is always made fresh. There is a sign on the door that says 1 customer inside at a time. It's actually pretty small inside. They do offer other pastries which is nice. But they need to have better service or have someone else taking your order. I felt so uncomfortable when I entered. The young man was sitting on the counter on his phone and the other one was standing to the side. It took a minute for both of the guys to say something. I wanted to leave but I made the 30 minute drive, so I had to suck it up and order. read more

Starbread is a must whenever I'm in the Bay Area (the ones in SoCal just aren't as good). I've been going here for a few years now but I can't help but notice that their señorita bread keeps shrinking. They're still tasty but usually gone after 2-3 bites. As for the service, every time I go it's the same big, grumpy guy. Definitely not the Filipino hospitality and service that I'm accustomed to. The world would probably freeze over if he even cracked a smile. This place strictly follows their Covid 19 protocols that they still only allow one person/group at a time. I would have given them four stars but with the consistently grumpy guy and shrinking breads, I don't think they've earned it. read more

This senorita bread was not that great. Not as airy as I would have liked, a little hard, like it had been sitting somewhere for a bit. And a subtle but strange after taste. Worst part of this was the poor customer service by the rude guy running the shop. I can confirm a lot of these low reviews stating bad service. I won't go back. read more

Ay, ay, ay. Ok, went in and was disappointed at the looks of the place. There's stuff dripping from the walls and some crusty chair where a guy sits until you walk in and a few pastries behind the glass case. The guy stood up (no welcoming), took my order, walked behind a curtain and reappeared with my warm Señorita Bread, charged me and that was it. Just a weird experience. Had it not been for the Yelp reviews of the bread, I would've turned around and left. It's not expensive to get a rag, dishsoap and water to wipe down walls. A gallon a paint also goes a long way. Just sayin'. Got to my car and took out a piece of bread. No lie, it is really good but ehhhh won't be coming back. read more

This place just isn't the same as it used to be. I ordered a box of Señorita bread and it honestly tasted like I accidentally asked for the "WELL DONE, SUGAR-FREE" version. They were overcooked, dry, and barely had any of the buttery filling that made them so good in the first place. The quality has definitely gone downhill compared to what I remember. It's disappointing because this used to be my go-to spot. I guess if I'm craving the real thing, I'll have to make the drive to the Daly City or Pleasant Hill locations instead. Hopefully this location can get back to the quality it was known for read more

Bad customer service, regardless of who is behind the counter. The staff are consistently rude, unfriendly, and far from welcoming. I also don't understand why they still enforce a one-customer-at-a-time policy when COVID restrictions have long been lifted. On more than one occasion, we've also been shorted by 3 or 4 pieces, especially when ordering 40 or more. It's disappointing to pay for food and not receive the full order. Now that LingNam is open, there's no reason for us to come back. read more

Union city branch ! The bread is fantastic but the (male) cashier is not friendly and does not belong at the front of the house. Since day 1 this guy has been so snotty and has no customer appeal and should work in the back and not meeting customers. All of our family and friends say the same thing and I have to let the owner know so they can address this. We love Starbread and hate to give a bad review but just being truthful. The guy is probably a nice guy but the customers know what I am trying to relay here. We can revisit this review if it is addressed for sure. read more

Came here on a Tuesday morning to grab some seniorita bread to share with my coworkers. There were only 2 people in front of me and I waited about 10 minutes to be served. It was so quick and easy; I paid $28 for 35 pieces and received them in less than 5 minutes. Just a heads up they do charge a credit card fee unless your total is more than $10! My coworkers loved them! The seniorita bread was hot, fresh, and coated with butter and sugar. Didn't have any leftovers by the end of the day! read more

I heard this place exists and I haven't had a chance to visit until yesterday. We made a quick detour to pass by unfortunately there was a sign at the door will be back at 12pm. Anyway I really wanted to have some so went to other store nearby and came back. Ordered 25 pcs and when we got home shocked to see how big they are. My cheap coworker told me years ago that this was place to get snacks (senorita bread) for the office when in the Sacramento. I didn't know they expanded so much. I had planned on getting some cheap Chinese pastries. But, when I saw Starbread in Fremont, where another one of our offices is located, I knew I had to continue with the tradition of bringing cheap snacks. They still had COVID era signs up of having one customer inside at a time. I'd have to agree with some of the other reviewers. The guy working there didn't want to be there. He didn't seem to care that I snuck in. No free bread for me like at another location that I went to. I bought a bagful for the office. I hope they were good. I didn't get to try any. My cheapness might bring me back. read more

Order, as usual, was perfect. Bread is always fresh! I would've given 5 stars but the person at the counter is and I guess never will be pleasant. The first time I thought he was having a bad day. So, I thought nothing of it. The second time his demeanor was the same. I greeted him with a "Hello how you doin'?" No response. I received my fresh order of bread and thanked him...no response no smile, no nothing. The gentleman working is quiet, but friendly if you ask him questions. The Star bread itself is very good. It's medium. It's not light and butter nor is it overly heavy and better. It was really good. I'm very glad I stopped. I will be back. Would recommend if you're looking for this type of sweet bread. read more

I should have listened to the other reviews mentioning the rude man at the front. I had the same disappointing experience. I came here excited to let my husband try this bread, and I had even talked up Filipino hospitality beforehand, but instead we were met with attitude and some of the worst customer service I've experienced. Go somewhere else if you want better service. What made it especially disappointing for me is that this is a Filipino store, and I expected warmth and hospitality, not this kind of treatment. The bread was also underwhelming and drenched in butter, so it was not worth the trip. Overall, a very disappointing experience. read more

I ordered 20 pieces of the señorita bread and we ate it at my sister in law's house to celebrate my husband's birthday. The bread was still warm and delicious! There are other things to purchase at the store, such as mochi donuts, chocolate, as well as plain donuts, and specialty rolls. The store has a small store front but it does have all the pastries you need to have a great breakfast! Since it was my first visit I wanted to try the señorita bread first. In talking with the staff, it turns out the owner also owns the bakery in Union City, which is where my other sister in law purchases her señorita bread. I had such a great buying experience I will definitely be back! read more

Came in for a quick stop to pick up some senorita bread. They are known for their fresh warm sweet bread. Not a fan of their other donuts and bread options. Anyways, purchased a box of 25 for $20 but missing 2 in the box when I got home. Sweet bread was small but it was very good. Place is small and only one person working. I went there today, April 30, 2026 hi Mema said that you were Lucy come with me to treat myself to a 10 pack of Señorita bread! There was a big guy there didn't welcome me didn't smile didn't say hi did anything he's very rude. He didn't even hand me my change back.!! I could probably overlook the rudeness if the bread was good. I've been going to this place for years just right down the street from me, but the bread was warm, but I feel like he put it in the microwave because once the warmest went away and the bread got hard I really like this bread, but you need to improve some things or you're gonna lose your business!! BTW, I know I'll come to people that go and buy this bread you need to improve it. I'm gonna tell my friends about it. I've had Starbread many times and for years before the Newark (closed a long time ago) or Union City locations. First introduced by our fam in Vallejo. But today was a disappointment. I had a few pieces from the top and they were made perfect hot and fresh but when I got home and my husband was grubbing on the rest of it he said it's hard like they are old. I don't know if they hid some old ones at the bottom and reheated them because they were hella hard and dry. I never had them like that even if they sat in my house for a couple days and we would heat up leftovers. The color was also significantly darker than the ones I had on the top. So sad it's not the same quality that I have gotten for years! read more

First time being here . Amazing Bread, But Service Needs Major Improvement I'm torn on this review, because the food here genuinely deserves 5 stars, but the service I received brings my overall rating down to a 3. Let's start with the good: The Señorita Bread is everything everyone says it is and more. Warm, buttery, slightly sweet perfection. We got a dozen and they were gone in minutes. It's absolutely delicious and worth the trip alone. The quality of the baked goods is top-notch. Now for the negative: The person working the front counter during my visit today had a terrible attitude and zero customer service skills. They were rude, explaining to me that there is only one customer allowed in the store and that there's signs all over. And when I asked for price just points the signs. It really put a damper on the experience. When you're excited to try a local favorite running into a person who clearly does not belong in a customer-facing role is disappointing. Management, please take note: While your product is fantastic, you need people at the counter who actually want to be there and can provide a welcoming experience. Bottom line: I'll be back for the bread because it's that good, but I'll keep my fingers crossed for a friendlier face next time read more

The dough is so soft and pillowy with a crispy layer of bruleed sugar and a delicious banana cream that was absolutely to die for. At $6.50, it's not a cheap treat, but it was super delicious and I'm glad we tried it. The drinks were also great. The espresso shot they pulled perfectly complemented the oat milk -- this is one of the better iced oat lattes I've had. We tried the black sesame latte because it sounded interesting and it was so creamy and loaded with black sesame flavor. For anyone that doesn't drink caffeine, I highly recommend you try the black sesame latte. With such great quality malasadas and drinks, it's no wonder there was a line! We'll definitely be back!

The guava cake at this bakery may be a Guam influenced type so keep your expectations in check.

They had a wide selection of flavors, even on late morning of a weekend. We tried the tiramisu (2/5) donut and the biscoff cream donut (3/5). But both were too sweet for my taste. I can't say that I'd be back, but if you're looking for something unique, I think you'd enjoy this little shop. They also sell croissants, more savory treats, and coffee!

I'd love to keep Pie Dreams my little secret, but out of respect for the proprietor's mad baking skills, it's behind Dino's. The owner is passionate about his pies and shared his philosophy about how pie can make us all nicer, gentler people. I mean, that's not exactly verbatim, but the pie case made it hard to pay attention. On my visit, there were two savory pies (hand pies) and a selection of sweet pies (hand pies and slices). Being a big supporter of small businesses, I ordered 4. All I can say is I'm super happy I don't live closer. The chicken bacon hand pie was delicious. Big pieces of chicken in a flavorful creamy sauce. There may have been some vegetables in it but I was driving and it was unsafe to inspect my pie closely. The caramel apple hand pie was good. Because I'm not an apple pie fan I appreciated that the apples were sliced thinly, not chunky, and I loved the addition of the sanding sugar on top. I ordered the apricot frangipane (AF) for two reasons: it was double-crusted and it didn't have whipped cream on top. I wasn't totally on board with frangipane since my experience with it in boxed chocolates was "meh." Plus they seem to love it on the Great British Bake-Off and it always looks so unappealing. But paired with the tartness of the apricots and a crust that reminded me of shortbread, I think the AF was my favorite, though I haven't tried the blueberry lemon yet. If you love pie, go to Pie Dreams and have a slice or three (no judgment here). If you're not sure or don't think you like pie, go to Pie Dreams. You may surprise yourself.

The coconut pudding pie was sooo good, loved the texture and flavor, they had toasted coconut on the side to add on top. The fresh silk pie was my favorite! It was not overly chocolatey and had a nice mousse texture, there was an under layer of crisp ganache that made all the flavors and textures pop! The crust is nice and buttery and flakey. These were not heavy pies, just creamy light melt in your mouth. They also have frozen pies so you can take and bake yourself. This definitely satisfied my sweet tooth, and will be back this time to order a whole pie!

Hands down they have the best drinks, cookies, macarons, cakes, and now salt bread! I always come to get treats for my kid's teachers (for their birthdays, teacher appreciation week, just because, etc.). I've brought friends visiting the Bay Area to this bakery, which they have loved. Always Yours also has fun cup sleeve events, macaron classes and afternoon tea from time to time. We love supporting small businesses and this one is definitely worth supporting! The regular was the best out of the other two in my opinion since it was simple but the bread could have been crisper even though it was warmed up. The other two flavors were very oily and too heavy. Glad I finally tried it, but I think I'm just going to stick to their macaroons.

I rarely see these items at Sheng Kee Bakery. Delicious. It was a quick and happy visit. Pastries all looked affordable and the cake selections are just awesome. It's very quiet when I come here and there were only a few people here. I wanted to take my order in person but the employee seems to be too busy in preparing them. I waited for a couple minutes and then decided to order from the Kiosk. The Upside Down Halo Halo was interesting because some of the ingredients were swapped such as Ube ice cream with the yellow one. I don't know what it's called but I'll have to look it up. Usually Halo Halo's main ingredient is Ube ice cream, which is why it's flipped upside down. Anyways, let's talk about what they also included, they included boba, Leche flan, and other flavorful ones, which I don't know what they're called. I may have to research it. I'm surprised that they included boba, which isn't really usual to be a part of this dessert. They all taste good though. It's like other Halo Halo I had from many Filipino restaurants. There are two locations that are near my home: Union City (which is here) and Milpitas. Even though that the one is slightly closer to my location, I came here since I wanted to try going to places in Union City. Definitely will be coming to Milpitas location the next time I go to Cafe 86.

Instead of making it right or offering a simple switch for a chicken burrito like my wife had asked, she completely lacked empathy and flat-out said, "I can't remake your burrito." I called back to ask what could be done to fix this, and she started telling me to stop yelling at her. I wasn't yelling at all, my other baby was screaming in the background because my wife left the house to try and get the food fixed. She then hung up the phone on me. Apparently, she told my wife she even consulted her husband before refusing to fix it. It is so unfortunate that a business we supported weekly would treat regulars this way, but they have officially lost customers for life. The owner also said she was going to reply to me on here.
