Such an adorable space that serves killer breakfast sandwiches, with strong coffee. I love everything about this space, the couch area with the prints on the wall. The tables for two along the wall in the back. The chic (and clean) restroom. But if you need just one reason to visit, it's the cookies! The drinks are really good! The matcha great, the "Yonce," GREAT as well. Gave me that energetic morning boost I needed, and packed with a lot of flavor. The service was good as well, the employee at the front was nice and welcoming. The ambiance was also really good, board games on the shelf to use while you wait or even as you stay and enjoy your order. The theme of the location is really nice, and feels different than most coffee shops. The bathroom was also a pleasant surprise. Absolutely love this place! We got drinks off the secret menu...MacDrizzle and RuPaul! My only regret is that I got the medium! Customer service is awesome. I've written a review for their old location in San Leandro, but this new location should be deserving of an updated review as well! We were so sad that they closed their other two locations and were on a hiatus! So happy to see that they've opened a new partnership with The Neighborhood Grandma! The inside of the store has that same Hippie's Brew vibe as their San Leandro location; cute and cozy decor all around. They now have a kiosk which you can order yourself! We've been back twice since they reopened and we never hesitate to make the 40-50min drive from San Pablo/Richmond for some Rick Ross and Ice Luvs Coco!!! There are new menu items that we tried out on our recent visit. Ricky Ro$sayeee caught my eye. You can choose their Rick Ro$$ coffee or $orta Kinda Latte and it comes with a slice of tiramisu on top!!! Sooo good!!! It does get messy though! I wonder if you can request the tiramisu on the side or if they'll offer it as a stand alone dessert item too! We also tried their PHAT cookies; Richie Rich and Ying Yang. We chose to get them warmed up and it made it all the better! It was nice, warm, and ooey gooey!!! My fave is the Ying Yang (cookies and cream)! I see that they also added new match drinks!!! Yes yes yes to Hippies Brew! How I've missed this coffee spot and was so excited to learn there is a NEW spot in Hayward off Eden Landing Rd. Tucked in a small lot shared with popular eatery Crave Subs and others, 'The Neighborhood Grandma's Coffee Shop' serves Hippies' Brew sips and cookies that are HUGE and oh so delicious. Pro tip: get the cookies nice and warmed up :)) I ordered the 'Crack Coffee' (cold coffee brewed for 18+ hours) and they mentioned to add the 'Frisco Fog Coconut Sweet Cream Cold Foam' atop ~ so good! You could literally use a spoon with that cold foam. The foam also comes in a Cinnamon Vanilla flavor too. I also ordered a 'White Iverson' jug to-go (white mocha) and a 'Ying Yang' cookies n' cream cookie. No notes! I appreciate the fun names for their drinks and shoutouts to pop culture and the Bay. Also the overall vibe of this spot is incredibly cool. Literally just like 'Grandma's house' ~ from the floral print seating to the fireplace, to the clocks on the wall. Cobra Kai was playing on the TV and we noticed the kitchen's wallpaper was a replica of the Wonka edible fruit wallpaper..so fun! The owners of the spot came to sit and chat with us for a bit and honestly, made my day and week. To sit with your community and just chat and invest time together enjoying coffee and convo..so priceless. Cant wait to continue to support such cool people doing cool things in the East Bay. I think most of the reviews for this place are based on a former business or at least a former location. When I went there it was a little hole in the wall on a sleazy strip mall in a rundown area. The place wasn't even called Hippies Brew. It was some other place that mentioned on their posted menu that they served Hippies Brew coffee. Also I had picked the place because the reviews and the menus posted here on Yelp made it sound like a good brunch place to meet an old friend but the food is now only sugary pastries. We wound up going somewhere else so I cannot speak to the quality of the food, it may have been perfectly good. I'm giving the place three stars for ambience and for false advertising. read more

I was so excited when I heard that Hippie's Brew had partnered with The Neighborhood Grandma. I was pretty bummed when all their storefronts had shut down--where else was I going to get my beloved Yoncé drink? Luckily, I had a little time before work, so I made the drive over. Normally, Hippie's Brew has more of a hipster vibe, but since this location is inside The Neighborhood Grandma, it felt warm and cozy--like hanging out at Grandma's house. The team there was just as friendly and welcoming as always. They kept me updated on my order, which I really appreciated. While chatting, I mentioned this wasn't my first time enjoying Hippie's Brew. Right before I got my drink, another guest asked the barista for food recommendations, and she suggested the McLovin Sammich. We live in Sacramento and since the first time we got Hippies Brew 3 ish year ago, anytime we're even close going close to the Bay we will make a point to come here! Everything is good - the freakin French toast never disappoints and is so filling. I usually get the Yonce or Sorta Kinda Latte (which are both delicious) but this time I got the Hay girl hay for pumpkin season and it is seriously the best pumpkin coffee I've had anywhere. I came to the og hippies brew when it first opened and then I moved away. I had no idea it changed to a new name but I'm so glad I found it again. It's always a vibe in there and the staff is super nice and attentive to your order. They don't take call in orders but when you go and order on the kiosk the items come out really fast plus you get to look at all the stuff they have placed around the store. There is nothing that can justify $10 smallest size coffee with majority ice. TEN DOLLARS for a medium (but that's the smallest size they got!) I told the guy that it's $7 on door dash- and he didn't honor it. I cannot justify $10 coffee. The drink taste good. I got the Rick Ross. But only a good five slips that you could enjoy. Also did not give me the caffeine kick at all. Just a sweet drink. Not worth it.
