Other reviews are right they are so kind, warm, and welcoming! A true local business feeling. Cupcakes needed to be brought out at room temp to be eaten. I tasted them after an hour and they were okay but then I tried it again after several hours being seated on my counter (the cupcake frosting was a bit melty) and it was so good and melt in the mouth. The inside was very small, neat, and clean. They ran out of the banana cold brew I wanted to try so I guess I'll have to come back next time :)
I finally got to try Bake It Up and this place was worth the wait! I had to try a little bit of everything, I ordered the cinnamon roll cake, two different types of focaccia breads, my strawberry matcha and my husband got a coffee (I forget which). Everything was SO good and the owner, Ms. Fatima, was so kind and welcoming. Not the sort of thing you experience often these days and her customer service was such a refreshing change. The vibes were great, there was lively music playing and a cute little seating area out front. Safe to say, I'll be back!!
I maybe a little biased when it comes to this place but this is my favorite bakery in the bayarea. The owner is the sweetest and she treats every customer like they are VIP. The food is always delicious and most important the consistency on the taste is always on point . I have to limit myself to only buying two bake goods when I go there because I get carried away lol . My favorite things to buy are 1. Cinnamon rolls ( the best cinnamon rolls I ever tasted) 2. Lemon cake ( the best lemon cake ever) 3. Strawberry ( I'm not a strawberry cake person but for some reason i love the strawberry cake here . That's how amazing the taste of the cake is . 4. Banana pudding cake ( it tastes like actual homemade banana that a southern grandma would make ) 5. Brown butter cookie& oatmeal raisin cookie ( it's made perfectly soft with a little crispy crunch just the way I like it ) 6. All of the coffee cakes are delicious ( it's too many to name but my favorite is the peach cobbler coffee cakes) 7. Mushroom danish ( don't judge me , I love mushrooms ) 8. The caramel ice latte ( Starbucks could never compete with this latte lol) 9. The peach and mango refresher ( so refreshing and delicious) 10. Teddy graham latte ( let's just say , I always order two of these) I have tried plenty of times from this bakery but I narrowed it down to my top 10 lol .
So welcoming ! So many desserts omg and I have the biggest sweet tooth and I was craving a scone ! Fatima the owner is so sweet omg I love her ! I can't wait to come back and try other things she has to offer !
this place was such a sweet bakery + cafe find. I ordered the pistachio latte made with Yemeni coffee & a matcha latte. The pistachio latte was perfect, sweet, & balanced well with the strong aromatic taste of the Yemeni coffee. I also ordered a mushroom pastry and it was such a Delicious savory snack to enjoy with my sweet coffee. Inside was cozy & smelled delicious. We sat outside on the little tables to enjoy our food before heading home. The coffee was strong in the best way possible!! I also ordered my birthday cake from here, the owner was wonderful & answered all my questions. I ordered my strawberry cake one week In advance & picked it up the day of the event. Our cake was beautiful with a custom message "93 til infinity" and gold flakes. I plan on coming back again. Thank you so much!!
We came here for the first time on a weekend morning and were so impressed by this place! I think the owner/baker/main staff member was in the front making the coffees and preparing everyone's orders and she seemed to know customers and chat with everyone as they came by, creating a nice community feel. The bakery doesn't have indoor seating, but there are a few tables right outside the front of the store, but it can be a little chilly sitting out front. We had one of the best tasting croissants we've had ever here. The spinach artichoke croissant had a rich cream that balanced with the baked cheese on top. It was huge and had amazing and unique flavors to it. We also tried the brownie, which had chocolate chips and every bite -- though the crust wasn't crispy at the top, it was still a rich brownie. The pistachio latte was very unique and she told us that the pistachios came from the Middle East and were freshly grounded. The latte was very smooth, though on the sweet side, and my partner said he would come back just for the latte. It is very clear that the owner puts a lot of thought, care, and love into her baked goods and drinks. Everything we had was very impressive and we can see why there was a steady stream of customers all morning. However, we did initially come for the cinnamon rolls, and even though it was an hour after the bakery opened, they were all out of cinnamon rolls because someone came and bought them all. That was a little bit disappointing but it does seem like a good bakery like this will sell out pretty quickly. We'll definitely be back!
We ordered a bunch of things to try here, and really enjoyed the Arabic Leche Cake (delicate, not too sweet, addictive!), Orange Olive Oil Cake (moist, dense, and light flavor). I also loved the Dubai chocolate pistachio latte!! We also tried the sour cream coffee cake and Dubai croissant. The coffee cake was a little bit dry. The Dubai croissant was pricey, but worth a try especially if you're splitting it with a bunch of people. Service was friendly! Will be back again if ever in the area.
This is hands down my favorite coffee shop!!! Not only is the coffee phenomenal, the service is also excellent! The second you walk in it smells amazing, you're treated like family and the coffee is to die for!! My personal recommendation would be the Arabic Leches Latte, but you can't go wrong with any choice.
I went here on a Friday and it was fairly busy. We were welcomed In and ordered getting our pastries quickly followed by our drinks. The tres leches was amazing never had anything like it! The halal pizza focaccia was very flavorful tasted like a deep dish pizza. We took our food outside and enjoyed it on their outdoor seating. My sister liked the chai but I would have got another drink besides the biscoff coffee. The coffee itself was good but the biscoff was very thick. Maybe if you like biscoff it's the drink for you. I would definitely come back for their Turkish coffee.
So I want to highlight how pleasant is was to talk to Fatima. She has a lovely personality. So welcoming, so real and just a sweet lady. Her service is welcoming and a delight to meet her. For the food, we ordered some drinks which were both delicious and then ordered a few items. Purchased 6 cupcakes, the olive oil slice of cake, I think, which was hella good, her recommendation to train it cuz I wanted the apple crisp coffee. Also purchased 5 cookies the brown butter, oatmeal raisin.
Only our second time here but we love it the owner is super sweet and attentive. Both times it's been super busy !
I have been in search of a cookie croissant in the Bay area. Last time I had one was in S. California, Corona Del Mar. I was so excited when I found Bake It Up with different types of croissants. Good coffee. We tried their cookie croissant honey lavender and biscoff pleasure. Also, I got a breakfast sandwich that was very filling. For croissant, of course, I got the cookie one and baklava. I will definitely come back to try their other sweets like cupcakes, slice of cake and more bakery goodness. Also, I need to go back to try their Dubai croissant. The place is tiny inside with no place to seat except for outside. Good for to go only. Service was fast. Not a long wait even though they were kinda busy when I came in at 10:15 am. A great bakery addition to Castro Valley.
Very cute, female owned cafe. Ordered Fatima's drink and a danish. The drink was much like a soothing detox tea, lemoney in flavor with fresh ginger and rose petals. Outdoor seating only. I didn't get to try any of the meat items during this visit but they are all halal!

This is more than just a cake shop! I was looking for a new coffee joint when I stumbled across Bake it Up. It's located in the Lucky shopping center and has plenty of parking outside. There isn't seating inside but there is a few tables outside if you'd like to sit and enjoy. This place has been here for about two years. They have a great variety of tasty coffees and other drinks if you're not into coffee. I got a breakfast bakery item but they have plenty of cupcakes and cakes to choose from. The owner was so nice and helped us make good decisions on what to try. I will be back to try some of their dessert options. read more
So glad there's another (because there isn't many) quality coffee spot near Hayward/San Leandro. This place has good items! We tried: Arabic Leche latte 10/10 Pumpkin tiramisu latte 8/10 Pumpkin spice latte 8/10 Banana pudding 7/10 (it's a cake base, so if you like that you'd probably rate higher) Biscoff tiramisu 10/10 Give this place a try. This place is full of genuine people and that's really what gives it the full 5 stars. The coffee list was full of classics as well as unique Arab-inspired items. The Arabic chai was great, and the Yemeni coffee was perfect. The CROISSANTTTTTTT is that's how you fill a croissant!!!! Can't wait to come back and try more, as a kosher person I'm most excited for the halal pizza focaccia (what is the pepperoni made out of?? I'm already sold) read more

Came across this bakery in Castro Valley. Had a good variety of baked goods. We got three kinds of cookies, a cookie dough croissant, honey bun cupcake and a Dubai Chocolate croissant. My friend and I stopped by after lunch hoping to grab some pastries and check out this place since it opened (kind of) recently. We were greeted by a super sweet worker and welcomed with the cutest decor. The space is a bit small, but it just feels so friendly inside! There were cakes and pastries on display and even though we stopped by for snacks, we realized that they have a pretty solid drink menu too! I ordered four croissants to-go: baklava, cookie, almond, and spinach artichoke. They were all really good! If they're not warm, I'd suggest toasting them or heating them up before eating. The sweet croissants were really sweet but tasted great and incorporated their flavors well. I didn't order drinks this time around but I definitely want to come back to try some of their coffees and cookies! read more

Bake it up is a hidden gem. I am so excited I found this place on instagram ! Fatima helped us decide on some delicious drinks and savory pastries. I'm all about presentation and let me tell you the dishes are beautiful. We got two coffees. Dulce de Leche and Boss lady. Dulce de Leche was both of our favorite! It was creamy pretty and delicious! We ate the lasagna so good and she gave us jalapeño bread pastry on the house which was warm flakey insanely good. Once I got to the middle of that bread the flavors were more intensely delicious. Outside crust was bomb and I'm still thinking about it 2 days later. All of it was gone after enjoying it right out front on the benches. Customer service was top tier. Who doesn't love supporting a small buisiness ran by kind, welcoming friendly people! Looking forward to trying more from the menu. A man came there and wiped out all of the cookies. You can tell he was a regular customer who was trying to get his hands on as many as he could so you know those cookies are fire! I'll be back for all the pumpkin drinks too and pastries of course! P.s. I liked the music , the chill vibe and the location has plenty of easy parking spots in Lucky's shopping center near chase bank. My only regret I hadn't seen this place sooner! read more
Glad we have various bakeries to choose from in Castro Valley & Bake It Up definitely is a treat! As you enter you are greeted with such variety it is hard to choose & with the small entry space & ordering counter it can get a little cramped. So it would be wise to know what you want. Order: Spinach Artichoke Croissant $6.25 loaded with plenty of spinach & artichoke filling. Each bite tastes just as good as the last with a perfect combination of creaminess to salt & heat from the jalapeño, that you keep coming back for more. Arabic Chai 16 oz.$5.50 Yemen tea, evaporated milk, cardamom spice & sugar was a nice change instead of drinking coffee. An aromatic brew of tea that had the perfect hint of spice to sugar ratio. Happy to have visited & will be Back soon! read more
Came here for a coffee pick me on my way home. It was my first time visiting and the employee was nice and kind. She recommended their best seller which was the pistachio latte (which you can get hot or iced). They don't serve coconut like, so I opted for the oat milk. The bakery also had a nice selection of seasonal drink and pastries along with their regular menu. Next time I will try the food! read more
I have been looking forward to trying this new bakery in Castro Valley - happy to say I would be happy to go here again! Their cakes look amazing in the display case! I will have to try it on mt next visit. On this visit, I had a pumpkin french toast casserole and my husband had an almond croissant. The pumpkin frencg toast was very decadent-basically like a pumpkin bread pudding. My husband originally wanted a crookie but they were all sold out - bummer, maybe next time. In addition to the sweets, I also got myself an Arabic chai-it was pretty yummy, the cardamom flavor really stood out. The bakery itself is very tiny, so not so much a hang out spot, although they do have a couple small outdoor tables on the sidewalk so you could have a little coffee date if the tables aren't taken up! read more

U MUST TRY THE BANANA PUDDING .. it's a must it's so good very different from any other banana pudding u ever had.. the perfect about of sweetness bananas cookies and a layer of cake.. its good the cake takes it to another level u won't be disappointed.. next u must try the croissant French toast casserole..perfect for breakfast and u can grab a tea or coffee.. it's a few tables and chairs outside if u would like to enjoy your items.. it's a small shop but filled with staff who value you and want to serve good fresh homemade treats.. Discovered this new bakery in our area and wanted to try it out. We came in on a Saturday morning for breakfast for a light coffee and pastry family outing treat. When you walk in it is very warm and welcoming. And the fall decor made it extra festive. The upbeat music boosted my mood immediately. They had a small menu offering fall flavored drinks and coffees with pumpkin, chai flavors as well of course. Typically I like to try to be a little adventurous and order unique flavors and this bakery shop definitely provides that. I think the owners might be Middle Eastern, many flavors I don't typically see i.e. cardamom , pistachio etc. We were very excited to try all these new flavors! I ordered a pistachio latte which I have never seen before or tried anywhere else. The pistachio cream at the bottom is soooo yummy. No additional sweetener added. And the layers of coffee and milk and green pistachio cream on bottom is very pretty and aesthetic and all the more appetizing. My husband ordered the cardamom roll. He loves anything cardamom. I also ordered the trendy cookie croissant and the leche cake. The leche cake, was also beautiful with the little purple dried petals and the sprinkles of pistachio on top really opens your eyes to feast. It is in between, less sweet than American sweetness but also not too light when it comes to asian bakery sweetness - like right in the middle. Was very tasty! We sat outside, the store has 4 tiny tables and chairs- cafe style. And the weather was already 70-80 degrees this early morning, pretty hot at 10 am but perfect for al fresco dining. Love this new little bakery . Would love to come back to try some more of their unique bakes goods. read more

Bake it Up Bakery & Cafe opened where Karin Johnson's bakery was. No inside seating. 3 tables outside. 2 showcases filled with baked goods, cakes, cookies, etc. quick, courteous service. Offerings: coffee, teas, toasts, bowls, sandwiches, espressos, iced refreshers, frappe, smoothies, a mix of American & Middle East/Yemen bakes & eats, American/Yemen fusion...menus everywhere. Bites: slice Arabic Leche (8.25) -topped with sweetened whipped cream, purple flowers, various green toppings -"cake" underneath was liquified milky sogginess --1st time having this. Kids will luv this Sips: Turkish Coffee (6) black, sugarless -semi-bold, strong covfefe. Biggest serving ever. Usually served in smaller portions, stronger too. -had mucho fine coffee grounds on bottom. Comped sample of Arabic Chai aka Yemen Tea. -strong tea taste. Cardamon flava faint. Suggested to owner more cardamon needed. 4.5 stars not familiar with menus/layout. Yemen bakes not all available. All goods house made. read more
I have been waiting for this place to open as I always see it from my nail place and it did not disappoint!!! I tried 3 of their desserts, the tiramisu, Arabic leche and biscoff tiramisu. The biscoff tiramisu is by far my favorite although all of them were really good. The Arabic leche is so moist and if you like cardamom and rose the flavors are incredible! I also tried their Yemeni latte and it's so good. They make it fresh and it takes a few minutes but so worth the wait! The owner and team was so sweet and you can tell she takes such pride in her products and bakery. Highly recommend checking them out!! Such a cute spot! read more
