Service was slow but they were nice and friendly. The scent of coffee when you walk in was so good. I ordered the ether which is one of their bold blends, made it creamy with light sweetness. I liked it. Daughter ordered the cold chai medium sweetness it was refreshing.

This Philz Coffee is very convenient -- and usually is my go-to location as I work around the Castro Valley/San Lorenzo area. I was very excited for the opening of this Philz Coffee, as it has been quite long awaited by the community, and for commuters like me, who work either from the South Bay or the Valley. They make the drinks quick, and with precision -- and are very patient when it comes to the making of the drink. It's also very conveniently located, as it's right off the Main Street, which is Castro Valley Blvd. I really like the ambiance and the vibe of this Philz -- it's pretty hip, and still maintains the modernness of things. The only improvement I would give is the parking, but it's Castro Valley -- only one can do so much. I usually get my iced coffee rose from this location, and among the many times I've tried to pick up via online order, they almost make it fresh on the spot (which isn't a bad thing -- they make the drinks in real-time which I honestly really appreciate a lot)! I would definitely go back and support more, and even partner with them should a fundraiser idea arise.

Please note this review was made at approximately 10:30 a.m. The service was excellent and the staff was great. However, the overall cleanliness of the space could be improved. The tables needed to be wiped down, there was food on the floor that appeared to be left over from the previous day, the couches were noticeably dirty, and there were visible stains on the walls. With a more thorough cleaning, the overall experience would be much better.

PHILZ COFFEE IS BETTER THAN STARBUCKS! Philtered Soul or Honey Haze is my go to coffee choice here. Light and strong coffee with caramel/ honey note taste. Once your coffee is ready they ask you to taste it to make sure the coffee is to your liking. You can have them adjust it or leave it the way it is. Starbucks does not do that. So Yay Philz! Service is great and friendly workers. Plenty of space to sit on with outlets to plug in your gadgets. For work or for studying. Yes there is a bathroom in the facility. Bathroom is always plus...

Great central location with a lot of free parking! It's always a GREAT morning seeing Katie C. at the register ready to take my order! She is super friendly, quick, and always offers outstanding customer service! Also, she's the one who told me I can order a HOT ECSTATIC! I never knew that! So thank you, thank you! My favorite drink from here is the COLD ECSTATIC, extra sweet and extra creamy! But on a cold day, now I know I can order my favorite drink hot. *NO CASH PAYMENTS. *PLENTY OF OUTLETS TO CHARGE ELECTRONICS.

This location had a great vibe. Compared to other locations this seemed more new, minimalist and modern. It's a very millennial / gen z environment, which I like. The staff is super hip and friendly. Coffee is always great at Philz. I always order the iced coffee rose.

The wait to order wasn't too long, maybe 15 minutes? While you wait, you pass by a display of cookies and they even have samples out for everyone to try. The staff was very nice, even though they were super busy! We tried: - Free chips & salsa: These are a must everytime I visit denica's. They are a great snack while you wait for your meal. 9/10 - The ube pancakes: These were pretty solid. I didn't think that the pancakes themselves had a very strong ube flavor, if any. I think all of the flavor was in the ube coconut sauce that they come with. However, there is only sauce on the first layer so you might want to get extra! It is an additional $2.75 or so to get the extra side of ube sauce, though. The pancakes themselves could have been a little more moist and fluffy, as they were a bit dry and dense. I loved the fruit and sauce, so that definitely made up for it! I'm glad that I got to try, but I don't think I'd get them again. Instead, I would get a regular pancake and a side of the ube coconut cream! 8/10 - The chorizo burrito: My bf said that this was also a pretty good option. He thought that it could have been a bit more flavorful, but was still satisfied with his meal! 7.5/10 - The side of hash browns: These were good, as to be expected! The portion was a bit small in comparison to other diners in the area. 7.5/10 Overall, I always enjoy my experiences at denica's! The vibes are always there, and they are such a convenient place to grab breakfast or brunch.

A lot of items to choose from but the midtown trio is really worth ordering. You can select your own pancakes and french toast to make up the trio but I would suggest the cookie butter pancake. It was the best of the three we got. All the food items look really good, so I am sure if you order anything it will be a hit. They have specialty lattes, so ditch the Philz across the street and order a nice latte here. This is a family friendly environment as they will supply kids with stuff to occupy themselves. Today, I ordered a flat white and a short-rib hash and my wife had a crab cake benedict. One of the protips here is that if your entree comes with a bread option, you are able to choose a slice of their coffee cake. Ive been here four times this year and I never had a bad dish. Service was good although the food took a little while to make it to us, it was a Saturday morning and the place was packed. If you are able ot get here around 9-930, you should be okay but be prepared to wait if you come after 10. Their menu selection has a good variety and they have some good Latin and Asian inspired dishes. I do appreciate their extensive drink menu which different coffees and lattes, juices, alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. If you can get over the price, Id highly recommend this place. Remember, eating our in general is expensive so if you go somewhere else, sure you will be paying less however, the quality here is worth the price.

Parking was busy (the lot is shared with Trader Joe's) but we managed to find a spot and head into the busy but not packed cafe. There is a large assortment of empanadas, from meat options like chorizo and chicken, to vegetarian like corn and onion, to sweet options too like apples. The menu also boasts lots of great drinks including mate tea! Lucky us, the empanadas we ordered weren't in stock so we had to wait ~10 for freshly baked ones. They came out buttery and piping hot, even with little hand-stamped letters on them so you know what you're eating, and it was so delicious. Most are about $5.50 each. Add oregano chimichurri for a bit extra if you want or pair with a tea, but these empanadas really hit the snacky spot. Lots of wooden tables with fresh flowers make Pampas a great space to chat with friends or to sit and do some work.
