I was at Yogurt Deluxe at around 800pm. The place looked neat and clean. One young lady was behind the counter. I looked over the menu, and saw....."$6.65 for a Medium Cup." That's a fair price for froyo. I got a free sample of the Espresso. A medium cup can have three flavors, so I went with Espresso, Chocolate and Strawberry. For toppings, I got Lychee Jelly and Mango Jelly Balls. Total price- $7.90, I gave a $2 tip They also serve sundaes, cones, and shakes. The problem with the froyo menu is it lacks the tropical flavors. I'm not a big fan of the tart and tangy flavors. I like icy refreshing pineapple, mango or passion fruit. But their froyo is good. I never seek out frozen yogurt (froyo) as I'm not a big fan of the sour, tart or tangy taste. So when my sister mentioned wanting to get some froyo I was not enthused about going. Yogurt Deluxe is located in the Safeway shopping Center on E Castro Valley Blvd to the farthest left of the strip mall. Sister was expecting a self-service type of spot where you pay by the weight. This is a "place your order" and the person will make your order with toppings you request (additions = $) from nuts, popping boba, fruit, gummies, etc. First visit, I opted for the caramel, fudge and pecan sundae (they have about 12 different sundaes) but skipped the fudge....pecans were fresh, the frozen yogurt was the perfect texture and flavor and topped with yummy caramel. You can also get flavored frozen yogurt that are tart, low-fat, nonfat, no sugar added and carbolite which pure yogurt and whey, low calorie, fat and cholesterol free for those with dietary restrictions. Definitely a return visit as their froyo reminds me of The Country's Best Yogurt (TCBY) when I was a kid....gentleman working the counter was friendly, and great stop for the 10-year old niece who saw cotton candy and pineapple froyo! This place has been here for at least 10+ years, and it's always a nice guilt free treat to enjoy. It is a small shop that is pretty well kept. They always carry Ghiradelli Chocolate, Original, Berry Berry & Cookies & Cream as a staple. Today they offered Coffee & Pumpkin so I asked if I could sample Coffee, I was pleasantly surprised that I could. The coffee had a good amount of flavoring but mixed with yogurt it was a little more tangy than what I had expected. I opted for Pineapple & Berry Berry. The Pineapple had a creaminess to it while the Berry Berry really tasted like raspberries. The next frozen yogurt was Cotton Candy & Berry Berry w.Animal Crackers. Cotton Candy was sweet & resembled the fluffy amusement park confection, but for me I'd prefer real fruit. Ordering the Double Brownie N'Fudge definitely was a splurge both calorie wise & price. The brownie was chewy & had a rich chocolate taste to it, but the warm fudge really was the star if the show. The yogurt ice cream was great and very good the only thing and that the older lady is racist as she greeted my family with a force smile but with other family that came in after me she greeted them with smiles and started making small talk with them. Another thing is that as a younger boy was trying to pick what ice cream to get and when I asked a sample for him she already had a cup in her hand and she throw the cup into the counter, over all I found her overall to be racist. I think it may have been the owner since all other reviews mentioned the man is the owner but whoever he is, he is EXTREMELY RUDE. We came in, quietly waited til he was ready for us and asked for our flavors. He proceeded to ignore the fact that we ordered two flavors in one cup (we have done this EVERY SINGLE TIME with no issues with the woman). He asks us if we want toppings and replied with yes but would like our 2nd flavor as well. He looks at me like I'm stupid and says "okay what toppings do you want?" and again, I let him know I will be having toppings but can we have the 2nd flavor? I kid you not, we stared at each other in complete silence for nearly 30 seconds. So I tilt my head in confusion thinking okay.. maybe I'm too quiet? Maybe he doesn't understand what I'm saying? So I repeat myself NICELY "Can we also have the cappuccino flavor?" He is quiet and stares at me again like I'm stupid in complete silence so I'm looking at him confused myself and ask him "do you no longer offer two flavors?" He is still fucking quiet then proceeds to say "I will put the cappuccino flavor. But I will add the toppings and then the other flavor." In my head, I'm thinking like "I'm the customer?? I'm the one eating this? What does it matter, just give me the damn 2nd flavor like I asked idk how many times now?" But I kindly just say Oh okay. And then he repeats himself but this time, with attitude and like I'M THE STUPID ONE, that he will add the toppings and THEN the second flavor and adds in with HELLA ATTITUDE "okay????!!!" I really don't know what was up his bootyhole today but he could have kindly said that in the first place when I first asked. But I just ignore him and proceed to tell him our toppings. He SLAMS THE DAMN CUP!!! Like wtf is his problem? It's not my fault he couldn't hire employees to fill in his customer service position. Or an ant went crawling up his asshole. Anyway, we put in the remainder of our order (2 more small and simple orders), and he SLAMS EACH CUP after he completes the toppings for each. We ended up paying and quite honestly he must have over charged me because I ordered 2 small cups (with toppings) and 1 child cup (no toppings). He didn't even want to give me my receipt but I honestly just did not want to deal with his bitter ass anymore, whether he overcharged or not. I just didn't wanna say another word to this man. I grabbed a highchair for my baby and it is FILTHY AND STICKY AF. He saw me grab it and took the sanitizer spray off the chair but idk what the spray was hanging on there for.
