I was in the area having my truck serviced, and had the unique opportunity to visit this place right when they opened at 11am. I don't go to Cold Stone Creamery locations too often. Their "super premium" ice cream is rich, decadent, and high in calories. But on a sunny Saturday, I decided to drop by and maybe try their coffee ice cream. It was 11:05 am and there was already a line! Only one young lady was working behind the counter. She told me she would serve me in a moment. Everything appeared fully stocked. Lots of cones and waffle cups. The place was clean and shiny. There's several small tables inside. When it was my turn, I asked the young lady what's good. She suggested all kinds of combinations depending on what I like. I decided to get: Regular Chocolate & Coffee, with coconut blended in. She offered me a free sample scoop of any flavor. I picked mint, and it was placed on top of the frosty blended ice cream (see photo). I gave her a $2 tip. While I was waiting, I asked to use the restroom. She came out to unlock it. It was clean and well stocked. The ice cream was super creamy and rich. The mint ice cream was easy to eat. But the blended coffee/ chocolate ice cream was almost frozen solid. It took awhile to finish eating it. It's okay, ice cream should be eaten slowly. It's a comfort food, it makes you feel good. Overall, I had a very nice experience here. Customer service and quality of ice cream get an A+ & 5-star score. I was told the ice cream is made on-site. Free parking in lot. read more

Recently customized my own birthday cake and purchased it from here and while the taste was good, it wasn't what I was expecting. It's an ice cream shop so should my expectations be high? No, and they weren't. However, it should've been 2 layers of cake and 2 even layers of ice cream but instead I received 2 layers of cake, 1 layer of ice cream, and 1 SUPER THIN layer of ice cream at the top accompanied with whipped cream. The layer was almost non existent which is not what they advertise or how they have their in store available cakes done. I felt a bit cheated out and it also sucked because the ratio of cake to ice cream was not it. While I enjoy the idea of customizing your entire cake, it unfortunately isn't as great as it seems as they won't make it with love as they do the signature cakes available in their freezers. Today my autistic son went inside of this terrible business. He is high functioning can speak and tell you what he wants. He is 23 years old and likes to go inside the stores his self so I sit out in front and wait for him as I sat out there for over 20 minutes and he was the only one in there when he first went in. I started to wonder what was taking so long I went inside and saw that they made one milkshake for him 25 minutes later I asked him why did it take so long? They literally let everybody inside the store order ahead of him. He is special needs, and the guy that works. There was incredibly rude with him and when I tried to speak to him about it, he was incredibly rude and refused to give me his manager's information. Been many times to this location. I've found it to be a good interaction most of the time. Sometimes its very busy and a long wait. If you see a line - I would consider going elsewhere. This place is crazy popular. I've seen everybody and their dog here. Even the Hayward police. Workers here do what they can but for whatever reason lines can sometimes get really out of hand. I guess everbody drinks at all the bars downtown and then gets the munchies? Or is this a result of having Cookies so close? I don't know. I like the bakery smell when you walk in. It suggests that they bake or cook their own waffle cones. Its a special place. I'm not all that into the special cold stone mushing ice cream around - but their pre made cakes and ice cream cookie sandwiches interest me more. There is a freezer near the front door and you can quickly pick up something special. There is a new cake shop across from Cookies but I think you'd be better off grabbing something here. Cakes have special themes that will please little kids for a birthday party. I think this place is overkill for adults. I experienced such great customer service when I visited Cold Stone Creamery on Thanksgiving Day. I ordered two ice cream cakes for pick up, and before handing my cakes to me, a male worker asked if I wanted him to write anything on the cakes. I said no because I didn't pay extra for such and I didn't want him to do extra work on a holiday. He told me that he'd do it free of charge and that he would love to do so. How could I say no? I didn't take a picture because the cakes were cut into and devoured as soon as I placed them on our dinner table, but the writing was beautiful and the cakes were delicious. Always loved me some cold stone ice cream. Last night I took the kids here, my daughter got the cookies and cream. They mixed Oreos in right in front of her I thought that was cool. Then my son tried the strawberry, and I got the banana pudding ice cream which was phenomenal !!! I highly recommend it if you like banana pudding, it has cool whip and cookies with chunks of fresh banana. Soo good, definitely a must try. Everybody craves about Cold Stone's ice cream cakes, so I had to try them out. I ordered online a create your own mini ice cream cake with fudge and almond mixed in the coffee ice cream, and chocolate frosting. The closest Cold Stone location to me is in Hayward and the pick up location said "inside the Lucky's", which I thought was weird, but went with it. A few days later (when it was time for pick up), I went to Lucky's on Mission and asked the lady behind the bakery if they normally have Cold Stone cakes made here. She was confused and told me that must be wrong! Little did I know that there's a Cold Stone in the same lot as Lucky's! Pick up location was incorrect (hope they change that on their site)! Once I found the actual Cold Stone, pick up went rather quickly. When we had the cake later that evening, it was a bit decadent for my liking. Almost 1 hour wait for basic ice cream!!!! I had a big craving for ice cream and there was about 6 people ahead of me and 4 employees on the clock. Somehow it took almost an hour until it was finally my turn. One employee went on her lunch break, the other 2 were too busy assisting the door dash/online orders and the one employee who was actually taking the customers order was taking his sweet time per ice cream. Sad thing was if I was the only customer in line I'd be like that's okay, but there was like 10 people behind me as well. Customers who come to the actual shop should be treated top priority over online orders. NOPE one employee every 10 minutes would come up and be like someone will be with you shortly while she prepares another online order as the line at cold stone grew longer and longer. Before posting this I scanned the other reviews. To be blunt this place is terrible. The employees are extremely rude and unprofessional. I'm a pretty patient person as I too work in customer service. If you want to be eyeballed and treated like crap for purchasing overpriced ice cream then this is your place. The sign says "no more than 3 parties at a time" that's what the sign says. So we were the third party. A lady came in after us and the employee said nothing to her but looked right at my teenage son and TOLD him to stand outside. Why? Then the employees behind the counter started talking about us so loud that another customer said something about it. But why come here at all. There's other places you can go and support. Lords, mister Softee, geez even baskin Robbins. Seriously, don't come here .... ever. Ice cream should be fun this place is hell. DO NOT SUPPORT! Update* I got a call from Bali the location Manager. We had a great conversation and while I declined free ice cream and just wanted to talk about the situation Bali was very kind.
