This place feels so homey and welcoming! They have a lot great options here that are inspired by Filipino and Hawaiian flavors. They have food, drinks and dessert! My Thai was so delicious! I can't wait to go back and try more items!

Wow, absolutely loved this place! I stopped by here when I was getting my nails done and was in desperate need of coffee. I found this place on Yelp and was interested in the Mac Nut Latte, which did not disappoint! Now that I'm writing this review, I'll definitely be planning another stop here to try other drinks on their menu.

Had their Ube Croffle, Ube Soft Serve ice cream and Chocolate chip cookie with toasted marshmallow. Good croffle texture. Crispy outside and chewy inside. Ube jam spread on top. Love that they actually use real Ube vs taro. The Ube Soft serve ice cream was ok. Very light on Ube flavor. The consistency was smooth; not overly sweet. The cookie was the best. Lots of chocolate. Soft moist cookie that's perfectly baked. A few weeks ago, I've tried their pan de sal with spam and one with corned beef. The corned beef could use a little more seasoning. The pan de sal (bread) was good, fluffy with slightly toasted outer layer. Will return to try other items on the menu.

Great food and service experience! Got my bacon egg and cheese in five minutes. Interior is nice and fun. The pandesal is like a hawaiian roll with no sign of ube. The egg is a little bland, but the bacon and cheese together as flavors are great. I just wouldn't have this again.

Macs by Icky is such a fun and lively place! We came on a sunny, Sunday afternoon and this place was poppin! It's definitely on the trendier side of coffee shops -- fun mural on the walls and the were playing Latch by Disclosure. Macs is Filipino inspired with flavors like ube and pandan on the menu. There's a lot of things I want to try but I'm an affogato girl and had to do that. My husband got the pistachio latte. Affogato 4/5 the soft serve really good, espresso was a little more bitter than I like but still tasty. I like how you can add pistachios which went so well with the affogato. Gives it a nice crunch and a salty/sweet element. Pistachio latte 4/5: Hubby really liked it. I don't like sweet coffees so I had to knock off one star. He even added an extra shot and it was still too sweet for me. It's not as rich in nutty flavor as I'd like but it was still good. Also slight artificial aftertaste. Service was so friendly and you could tell they were enjoying their job which really makes a difference. They answered a lot of questions I had about the menu enthusiastically. I want to come back soon to try the ube drinks and some pan de sal sandwiches!

I've been wanting to come to this spot for such a long time. Cute storefront with beautiful designs on the inside. Cafe vibes with students doing their work inside. I ordered from the friendly cashier and we waited for our drinks. The barista finally called our names I believe he might have been making the food too so it was a little backed up. My Mac nut latte was amazing it took me back to Hawaii. My sister enjoyed her matcha with ube she said it wasn't too sweet. We also tried the Ube cookie, delicious!!! I enjoyed my first experience here and would definitely come back to try the desserts next time.

This location has gone through a few different coffee shops in the past couple of years, but I'm so glad to see a coffee shop with an emphasis on Filipino flavors finally serving the community. The drinks and breakfast offerings enticed me to pay a visit. The inside is large with plenty of space to sit and hangout. There is a small parking lot behind the building, but street parking available as well. The staff were friendly and greeted us with a smile. I ended up getting the Pistachio Iced Latte and the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Ube Pan De Sal. Pistachio Iced Latte 7/10 - coffee is pretty solid and the pistachio cream is a nice touch of nuttiness to the drink. This drink definitely heirs on the sweeter side so if you prefer your lattes more sweet then I would recommend this. I don't see too many places offering a pistachio latte so nice they have this on the menu Pan De Sal Breakfast Sandwich 9/10 - this was a great breakfast sandwich that was bursting with flavor. The texture of the egg is nice and soft which is what I prefer. I've tried the famous breakfast sandwich from Kasama in Chicago and this definitely reminds me of that sandwich. Overall, a great experience. I highly recommend checking this place out if you like your drinks a bit sweeter and with Filipino inspired flavors.

I can't remember the name of what my daughter ordered but she really liked it. I ordered an Mac nut latte and that was delicious . The ube latte looks good, might get that one next time. Everyone we came in contact with are so friendly. Street parking only. Really cute goofy and Donald and straight forward menu.

Ube Latte, Calamansi Black Tea, and Ube Tres Leche
    Melinda K.

This is a must-visit for all the Ube lovers out there. I remember it started as a pop-up food truck, and I'm glad they opened their own shop in Union City, taking over the former Hippies Cafe spot, which fits perfectly in the mini Filipino town. When I first walked in, there were so many desserts and lattes to choose from. I ordered the Ube latte, Calamansi Black Tea, and Ube Tres Leche. The Tres Leche was really moist and Ube-licious. Ube Latte had good Ube extract in their iced coffee, and the Calamansi Tea was sweeter, yet refreshing. The service was nice, and I love the wall art inside their shop. Street parking is available near the park and Birdhaus. Expect to see them pop up in the Fremont Arts and Wine Festival every summer in Downtown Fremont.

    Iced turon latte

Came across this place after eating next door at Toppings Too and tried the iced turon latte. Pricing is pretty standard for Bay Area coffee, but the flavors definitely stand out. I love that their menu pays homage to Filipino roots with fun, creative twists you don't see everywhere. If you're a fan of sweeter coffees, this is absolutely your spot. The island-inspired vibe is fun and welcoming, and they have a solid variety of unique drinks that I'm already looking forward to trying the next time I'm on this side of the bay. They also offer breakfast sandwiches on ube pandesal, which I didn't get to try this time but am definitely adding to my list for next visit. Overall, a great place for something a little different from your usual coffee stop.

    Ube latte!

This coffee and ube place is a Union City Filipino special -- none that can ever be replaced. I remember this being Hippies Brew (the Black owned business) before they closed down, but I'm actually glad the owners who operate Macs by Icky actually decided to lease this property and put it to good use -- doing event pop-ups, while continuing operations at their very home store. It's also very conveniently located right by Toppings Too, so there is actually quite a bit of space to find parking should you find yourself craving a bit of ube and a bit of kick of coffee. I ordered an ube latte -- in a large, and it did NOT disappoint, y'all. When I tell you there were more hints of ube syrup than there were in all of everything else, alongside the espresso shots, it tasted like it was destined for success. The hospitality at Macs by Icky was very open, welcoming, and they even gave you suggestions for drinks if you were walking in, being completely clueless for the very first time. In addition, they have indoor and outdoor seating, and the environment was honestly quite welcoming, rain or shine.

Really delicious Ube soft serve. I also had the Ube Thai iced tea which was nice. I loved that they had Pokémon playing when I went. The halo halo is also very good. Service was quick. I was sad they ran out of macarons when we got there. Will have to go back to try them. It was a little hot inside, but that's what ice cream is for and we just got it to go. Recommend it!

As someone who has been drinking Vietnamese coffee since I was 12 (Im much older now), I am very picky with my Vietnamese coffee. This place knocked it out of the park with their coffee as well as offering flavors that I never tried other than the original. The phin set I ordered is for dine in only and understandably so. The pandan cream topping was definitely new for me and I would give it the compliment of saying that it wasnt too sweet. Not pictured was the pandan waffle and the two pate chaud I ordered, which I ate before taking the picture, I am sorry. It might be on the pricey side but hoenstly these days, what isnt? Im not complaining, I would come back next time I am around the area. Lastly, I wanted to shout out the workers there on that day. You guys seemed understaffed and getting slammed, but everyone did their job and delivered.

My recommendation is to order your drinks less sweet. It's the perfect level of sweetness. The only tweak I'd make is adding an extra shot of espresso to the coconut coffee. The food, unfortunately, didn't live up to the drinks. I tried a few of the bánh mì sandwiches, and the bread-to-filling ratio was way off. There just wasn't enough filling, and even after ordering extra veggies, it didn't seem like there were actually any extra added. If you're specifically craving a Vietnamese sandwich, I'd recommend driving about a mile up the road to Huong Sandwiches instead. That said, I still want to come back and try more of their food menu because the drinks alone keep bringing me back. The café itself is adorable. I love the modern design and all the greenery throughout the space. It's clean, quiet enough to study or work, and has about 7 small tables, making it ideal for solo visits or small groups of up to four people. I also appreciated the powerful hand dryer in the restroom (it's the little things!) and plenty of parking. Come for the drinks, stay for the atmosphere.

I was told they only have medium and dark, but the medium tastes pretty light. I asked if the beans were washed or natural, and she couldn't tell me, and wasn't even sure what that was. I should have taken that as a warning that these beans were not the same level as Devout Coffee roasters beans, which is what I usually get. However, since Airborne was cheaper than the beans I usually get from Devout Coffee, I went ahead and bought a pound of Morning Buzz. This morning, I brewed a comparison between the Airborne Roasting Morning Buzz, and my last remaining light roast beans from Devout Coffee, which at that point was several months old, whereas the Airborne beans where freshly roasted. Well, even so, the Devout light roast beans were far superior in taste than the Airborne beans. The Airborne tasted too burnt, and lacked those subtle flavors that make coffee so enjoyable. It was just a one-note band with loud speakers. My recommendation is, if you like a light roast, and sophisticated flavors in your coffee, get something else. I understand a lot of people do enjoy the burnt flavor (Starbucks, anyone?), but I wish they wouldn't have told me the medium roast tasted like a light roast: it doesn't. Note: in the end, with lots of sugar, lots of milk, and some heavy whipping cream, I was able to have a nice cup of coffee-flavored sweetness.

There were a few people in line and it did take about 10 minutes before we were able to order. During that time, some of the malasada flavors ran out, but they were quickly replenished. The dough is so soft and pillowy with a crispy layer of bruleed sugar and a delicious banana cream that was absolutely to die for. At $6.50, it's not a cheap treat, but it was super delicious and I'm glad we tried it. The drinks were also great. The espresso shot they pulled perfectly complemented the oat milk -- this is one of the better iced oat lattes I've had.
