Stopped by for lunch and had a great experience. The food was flavorful, well-prepared, and portions were generous. We ordered a mix of meats including the tri-tip, brisket, and ribs, along with several sides. Everything came out fresh and the meats were tender with a nice smoky flavor. The tri-tip was cooked well and had a good seasoning, the brisket was moist, and the ribs were meaty and easy to pull apart. The mac and cheese, potato salad, and coleslaw were all solid choices, and the garlic bread was a nice addition. Service was friendly and the staff were helpful when explaining the menu. Prices felt reasonable for the amount of food we received. Overall, a very good local BBQ spot that we'd be happy to come back to. Worth checking out if you're in the area and looking for quality barbecue without a long wait. Ambiance and staff were great too

GREAT SMOKE BBQ! You can smell this place from a mile away. Been here multiple times finally got the chance to try their breakfast items. I ordered 2 tacos and 1 breakfast sandwich. Tacos was packed with meat and a nice runny over easy egg. The breakfast sandwich did lack meat though compared to the taco imo. Breakfadt Taco 5/5 Breakfast sandwich 4/5 Service 5/5

This establishment offers white mac n cheese. I didn't know how to feel about that but tbh the mac n cheese is so much better than the potato salad. I really tried to like the ps but I didn't get what they were going for. Maybe I'm just old school and prefer a yellow ps with pickle and eggs but for me personally this ps is not it. I ordered 3 meat plate Chicken, pork ribs and tri-tip. The chicken melted in your mouth, with beautiful delicious skin that was crisp. Pork ribs were well seasoned and again melted in your mouth. The tri-tip was some great stuff! Thick but soft and loaded with flavor, I really enjoyed it. It was served with cornbread which was unlike any other cornbread I've had and some honey on it took it to another level. Both plates came with pickled chiles, cucumber and onion which were delicious! They offer variety of beer flavors but I was sober so I took the soda. Restrooms are really clean but the wash hands area is on the outside . I would give this place a solid 8 1/2 /10 I didn't taste much difference between reg bbq sauce and hot bbq sauce but it is great.

Came here on a weekday night, wasn't too busy. This is CV's best BBQ joint and it is phenomenal. I ordered a 2 meat combo brisket and pork ribs with mac n cheese, cold slaw, cornbread. Come early and hungry if you want certain selections of meats and cuts!

Not bad, not that great either. Very average, inside was done up nice. It's one of those typical overpriced mediocre BBQ spots where they serve everything on a square tin. The corn bread was pretty bad, beans were more like chile and not baked beans. I guess that's just a matter of preference, the ribs were pretty tough, brisket was actually very tender. Flavor on the ribs and brisket was good though. Mac n cheese was decent. Overall, it's just okay but the prices didn't reflect the quality. I probably wouldn't go back. Oh yeah, the workers decided to mop the floor 2 hours before closing with some super loud water rake and all anyone could hear was this rake dragging on the loud concrete. That was pretty annoying. Food was 3 stars, loud noise and expense dropped it to 2 stars.

So I have to say that Canyons BBQ breakfast is definitely a secret delicious thing to get. They are right next to Philz, grab a coffee and then get a breakfast taco. They were AMAZING. As well as the breakfast sandwiches. Canyons BBQ meat is always delicious and you can't really go wrong with anything you get Unfortunately, I'm always disappointed with their sides. I can't seem to find a side dish that I think tastes good. I would only come for the meats and skip the sides.

We had a wonderful visit to Canyons Barbecue. After a solid 4+ hour bike ride, the boys decided to stop in for a bite--and it couldn't have worked out better. I enjoyed a refreshing hazy beer (HazyDuzIt), while Dan and Paul shared the pulled pork sandwich. Debbie greeted us warmly and helped with our order. I'll definitely be back with my wife.

I would probably give Canyons a 3.5 if possible. It's pretty good value in terms of portion but the brisket was a bit too salty for me and the burnt ends were a bit too sweet. The breakfast taco was really good but kind of steep at over $5 per taco. It's a nice local spot overall

Friendly counter staff. Food came fast but it was obviously slow cook. Good vibe from the music to the decor. The food was excellent! Eat here!

Such a great addition to CV! The ambiance is cozy and the outdoor seating is perfect for the hot months! Love their selection of sodas and beer! Nice pairing with the great BBQ! Wifey loves the ribs and I usually get the brisket! The smokiness is do bomb! The people are always cheery and courteous! We try to come when we can! Gotta make it here for breakfast!

3.9 stars $38(?) 3 meat combo meal + cornbread and 2 sides. A good local spot but if you already got a decent BBQ near you, no need to come here. ...unless you really like Kansas style pork ribs. Cornbread: Not my style or I had better? Can't decide. Beans: simple but well seasoned and good. Mac Cheese: simple but nicely seasoned. Pork ribs: just my style with a sweet barbecue sauce rubbed on. Wonderful. Feels like Kansas City style. Burnt Ends: mixed. Has rendered fat? Out of this world. Lacking a fat layer? Chewy and a touch dry. Brisket: it was fine but I've had much better.

Canyons Barbeque is located on CV Blvd and has a shared parking lot with Castro Valley Marketplace and all the other businesses in that area. Canyons BBQ is a pretty spacious restaurant with a large patio area and inside seating as well. A bar with artisanal draft beers. A couple of tvs. Two separate multi-user men and women's restrooms. The service waa friendly and welcoming. She recommended a couple of her favorites which were the Pulled Pork and the Chicken. We wanted to get the Burnt Ends, but they were sold out of them, along with their Pork Ribs. Sadness. We ended up getting the Large Brisket Meal: served with 2 sides and bread (4/5). We chose Mac & Cheese and Potato Salad. Choice between Garlic Bread & Cornbread. The brisket was lean, smoky, and tender. Both of our sides were very good. My wife said the garlic bread was tasty and good. Support your local business.

Q the Roof Another of the eleven locally-owned and operated Real Smoked BBQ locations, which include: Barbeque Pit (South SJ), Aptos St BBQ (Aptos [duh]), South Winchester BBQ (West SJ), Wagon Wheel (Mountain View), Salinas City BBQ (Salas), BBQ 152 (Gilroy), Trail Dust (Morgan Hill), Crossroads (Carmel-by-the-Sea), Mission St BBQ (Santa Cruz), Redwood City BBQ (RWC [doy]), and they also run Real Smoked BBQ Catering. Their locations all feature the same two things I crave most in life: real, wood smoked American BBQ and quality local microbrews. The Good: *Their meats are almost always good to great. I've found their burnt ends and ribs to be the most consistent items on the menu, and the brisket can be a little hit-or-miss, but fortunately, the day we went, it was terrific. *Service was fast and friendly. *Fast-casual: order at the counter and they bring it out to your table. *As mentioned above, quality local beer selection on-tap *Rewards program thru all their locations that earns you points that can be used for discounted meals. *Huge outdoor space The Meh: *Sides have always been their weak spot, but Ib will say they've improved their beans a lot over the years, and the 'slaw is generally not bad. The cornbread is sorta strange, too, but it's edible. The Ugly: *Limited street parking and there is a shared parking lot in the back, that was fairly packed on a random weekday afternoon. Conclusion: Solid Q, great beers, and a patio. Not much else you need in life tbh.

Order at the counter and sit and enjoy kind of place. It's decorated simply with a tv that was playing ufc and we were welcomed by Tim who was so warm and hilarious our entire visit. First thing I noticed was how fairly priced the place is. 1lb of brisket is 30 dollars, potato salad is 5 dollars and soda is 2 dollars (some places charge like 4 bucks for a can!) Ordered, sat down and enjoyed some convo with the order and our food came out in about 10min. If there's one thing to get, it's the brisket fries!! Oh my word, the sauce and cheese all go so well with the bbq. I like how their sauce has a kick to it and isn't overly sweet. The brisket was really tender and smoked well. I personally enjoy fattier pieces of brisket but I bet if I would've asked for those cuts he might've accommodated. The smoked potatoes salad is almost a must. Very unique style of potato salad and pairs well with everything. We noticed they also do catering, and the prices for that also look very reasonable. Would definitely considering using them for our next party!

When I asked him where he got the ribs, he said Famous Dave's. I knew that I had to try them out for myself. It was always one thing after another, but finally, I had time on a Wednesday afternoon. I didnt want to deal with a crowd and when I went, it was perfect. We were seated right away. Our service was Yanira and she was awesome. So friendly, answering all of our questions. I got the ribs and meat meal since I also wanted to try their chopped pork. My sides were Mac and Cheese and Tater Tots. When my order came, I got their special fries and before I could even say anything, another server came with a bowl of my tater tots apologizing for the mistake. No complaints here since I got another side. Everything was delicious. The ribs were tender. I also loved their BBQ sauce. I was going to order water, but since it was a special occassion, i ordered a Dr. Pepper and I was surprised that it came in a large mason glass jar. The Dr. Pepper wasn't peppering.....if you know you know, it just didnt taste strong, but I did enjoy that the drink was ice cold. They dont have coke, but serve pepsi products. The cornbread was perfection, warm and buttery. Disclaimer, the Mac and Cheese had corn in it, just stating if you care about that sort of thing. It was more on the saucy cheesy side. I never had Mac and Cheese like that, but since I love Mac and Cheese and I love corn so it was hit in my world. Portions are huge and I had to take some food home. Prices seem comparable to other places that serve BBQ. Lots of seating areas and I can see on special occasions or on the weekends, this place could get packed. Plenty of parking. This restaurant is off Winton, in the area where Panera is at. If you go all the way to the mall you have gone too far. I know that I will be coming back, I am curious to try their burnt tips. I'm gonna check with my NorCal moots about this but sucks if that's true. I was going to comment on how this is one of few bastions of affordable, slightly more unique food in the bay area, but I guess that's not the case. I'm spoiled by having a Dollar Hits in SoCal literally down the street from me so I can't say this place compares, but it's at least an option for NorCal, you know? This definitely used to be another restaurant, but then retrofitted to be a grill. Super large grill in the middle for everyone to communally cook at indoors. This is a good combination between the outdoors grill it yourself and the indoors seating of both the SoCal Dollar Hits, so I thought that was nice. They have all the classics here, isaw (sometimes Dollar Hits doesn't have this unless you request -it's chicken intestines), large intestines, chicken skin, kwek kwek (battered quail eggs), and Tender Juicy bright red filipino hot dogs (a must). You can also order a side of rice and the sauces were self serve (made it a bit sticky). It gets a bit smoky in there even with the fans, but overall had an enjoyable time the time when I did visit.

I truly believe that there is potential here, but a lot of things would have to change. When you walk in, BBQ is not the first thing you smell. I'm the type that if you can smell the BBQ when you get out of the car, it's probably about to be pretty dang good. I got all the way into the restaurant and it was just a vague smell... not necessarily bad, but not necessarily food, either. * The Mac n' Cheese recipe needs to be re-thought and revised. It was watery, tasteless and not what you would expect from a black owned business. * The cornbread is expensive and not given as sidecar to your sides. I'd rather pay a little more for food overall when I buy a plate and get cornbread than have to ask for and purchase a side of cornbread. As far as taste, if I wasn't eating it with the greens, it wouldn't have been very good standalone. * I had the rib plate.... No rub in sight, not even the slightest hint of salt and pepper coating. It was almost like the ribs go straight from package to smoker, no process in between. They seem to take the angle of drowning them in sauce, which is overly tangy seems like a bulk purchase sauce, rather than a house made sauce. BBQ sauce is too simple to make to not hone in on your own sauce recipe. The ladies who plate the food chop the ribs in half as a means to fit them into the carton, but to be honest, I don't wanna see or taste pigs marrow when I'm eating my ribs. Ribs were also very dry and over-charred... a few pieces. * The greens were the best thing on the whole plate to be honest. * Lastly, the hot sauce packets were puffy and swollen, which is never a good sign. Never seen that before until I came here. Also, I asked for extra BBQ sauce and was told that would be an extra charge..... this was already a tip off that they don't get a lot of business and now they're at the "nickels & dimes" point of their day-to-day operations. All in all, it just seems like the labor of love has been lost on this place, as it was recommended to me by someone who says it was good years ago. While that might be true, it seems the family has gotten too comfortable with their neighborhood regulars to keep the doors open and the quality is slipping as the month and years pass. If you're reading this as the owner, I hope this is a motivator for you to restructure and re-brand so that you become a "line out the door" business, because in today's climate, it only takes one influencer to enter your doors and call your food "certified" or "trash" for YouTube, IG, Twitch etc.. The salad is always fresh and crisp. The sweet potato is nicely baked and really tender. That soft, hot bread is addicting. Service is excellent because their wait staff is trained to keep bringing the bread even without being asked. They are very nice about it. And since they have a dedicated person making the bread continuously, they never run out. The free peanuts are also very good and keep customers occupied while waiting. Food came out at a decent pace. It's loud and lively inside the restaurant. The whole atmosphere is very cheerful. I have been to other Texas Roadhouses since it's a chain. They are very consistent and they all operate very smoothly. Highly recommended if you are looking for a decent steak house and do not want to break your wallet!

Another day at TR and another great experience. When we were getting seated, I had asked the…read moregentleman that was seating us (I didn't get his name...I'm sorry) if we can have an extra basket of the amazing hot bread. He said to me, "Oh of course. You asked me so kindly. Everyone has been in a bad mood due to the hot weather." I understand that it was a hot day, but why take your dreadful mood on the staff? All you gotta do is eat, drink, & pay for your food. The staff has to do most of the work if not more and serve your grumpy a**es. So unnecessary! Anywayzzzzz, our server was Ray for the day. Super nice, super on point, always checked on us and he even sang Happy Birthday to my mom. Bravo & thank you for your service Ray! Thank you for making my mom happy! Like I said before, if you get a happy reaction from my mom, then that's just golden for me. And as usual: the food is always amazing!

a chicken katsu that measures out to two meals, great deal alert!…read more so I have been here many times, tried the chicken katsu, hawaiian bbq chicken, aloha bbq chicken, and white island fish, which is about half the menu, and always great and always filling so a chicken katsu comes with two scoops of rice, one scoop of mac salad, a small bed of cabbage, some steamed brocolli, and three crispy and juicy pieces of chicken. There are two dipping sauces, a plum based katsu sauce, and a soy sauce hybrid. The katsu sauce has a little bit of heat, but mild enough that my SO whom normally does not eat any spicy, can handle it. Which ever combo or item you pick, it's outstanding. Because the items have a lot of food, I usually skip the appetizers. So for either lunch or dinner, you have two meals out of any items. Service is great, I usually order on the phone and pick it up, but ordering in person or online is fast, staff is great and friendly. the decor is simple and the place is very clean. There are about seven tables and parking can be limited when the place is busy.
