Visited for lunch around 2:30 p.m. We were seated near an area with several tables that had not been cleaned. It took about 10 minutes before a server came by with utensils and water. Once we ordered, the food arrived and was good, and our server was pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately, while eating, I noticed my shoe sliding on the floor. When I looked down, I found that the floor was dirty and covered in a mushy substance that had gotten stuck in the ridges of my shoes. It was pretty disgusting and completely took away my appetite. What stands out the most from my previous visit is that the food quality in terms of flavor taste the same, which is a good thing, but the size has definitely gone down. I was quite surprised when I saw that the Bigfoot Chicken Fried Steak is at least 30 to 40% smaller than it was before. I feel like they should remove the "Bigfoot" from it because size-wise it just felt like a regular Chicken Fried Steak getting anywhere. I'm glad that they still don't charge extra to switch the cornbread muffin that it comes with for their decently sized pancakes. In regard to the service, while it wasn't perfect, I can definitely say that my server and the employee that brought me to my booth were both friendly. And my server was quite attentive, which was a massive upgrade from one of my previous outings, here where our waitress never offered a refill and never checked back on us until it was time to close out. It was also a huge class that once my order was placed it came out and under 10 minutes, but that may also have to do with the fact that half the restaurant wasn't filled to max capacity. Lastly, I could tell that there was a decent amount of regulars there, which is quite refreshing definitely added to a positive environment. I'm not sure when that will be the next time that I return, but I am glad that the service had improved, the food quality taste wise hasn't gone down and I know that I will be back at some point in the future. 3/5. read more

We waited a few minutes for a table. The place was packed on a sunny weekday afternoon at 11am. They gave my friend's baby a high chair, so he can join us comfortably. And even gave a him crayon and a picture to draw on. We appreciate it, even thought it only was used for 2 seconds. Our waitress came by fast to take our orders. It's my first time in a Black Bear and I love it. I love it that the menu is a newspaper. I love it that they have a merch store. I love it that they kept their theme of bears - lots and lots of bears. There's even a bear claw donut in the pastry case. Our server Ashley is so good at her job! We walked in about 9:30AM. It wasn't so busy but it wasn't empty at all either. She handled the tables with grace as it looked like there was only her and a food runner & busboy. She was kind, polite and remembered everything that we needed. Food was good, my husband got a chorizo burrito and I got a BLT on sourdough. Hubby says the burrito was okay, not very flavorful and he had to put extra salsa for it taste okay. Received 2/3 meals I ordered through Door Dash & the meals I did receive both came with 1/2 sides...ridiculous. I only ever have issues with my order during dinner time, like cold fries or dry sandwiches, but I usually take it to the head and fix it myself because we're only human we make mistakes. Missing a whole meal though?? On top of that, NONE of the meals received even being complete is beyond me. Whoever works during breakfast & lunch does a great job, I never have complaints.
