Came in for breakfast with one of my high school friend that has been here a few times a year. Its a small diner with a U-Sharp bar that sits about 15 people and tables around the bar. I'm very surprised on how good their breakfast is and how cheap it is. From what I heard this is a husband and wife operation, and they been running Cozy Kitchen for a long time. Cozy Special Omelette with Linguisa, Mushrooms, Bell Pepper, Onions, Tomato & Cheese was very good, made perfectly. Eggs not over cooked. I also had a side of ham which was good as well. I love this place. It's close to the fwy and public transportation but hidden away enough to be quiet and comfy. I went in this morning, ordered the Cozy Omelette and coffee, and got out of there for $18 plus tip. The older couple that run this joint are the very definition of Mom n Pop. If you come here, please be nice and enjoy the food, 70's minimalist decor and leave a good review. What a little hidden gem! I've always seen this place when stopping by dollar tree or neighboring stores but never stopped by. I kept seeing the name and my husband decided we should give it a try. We were greeted right when we entered and sat where was available. The restaurant itself is pretty tiny-- but it is cozy. Onto the food, I got the cozy special, husband got the crab mushroom sandwich, and we got a beef patty with eggs to go for my brother. The food is just the right amount, you don't feel disgustingly full afterwards, and it's really affordable. I think I just found my new kitchen spot!! This diner has quickly become our go-to place in the area. They have the best prices and are locally owned by an adorable older couple who run the business - cooking and waiting tables. Not only are the prices very reasonable here, the food is really good. They have the crispiest hash browns, the fluffiest pancakes, and the eggs are prepared just as you request them. We wanted to come by today to try their lunch plates out, but they are closed on Sundays. Although it's tough for us to share a gem in the area knowing that more people might come here, the food is great and this mom and pops shop deserves some more recognition. Cozy Kitchen is the dinner that will be located just inside the pearly gates of heaven. I've been coming here for 7 years. It's a perfectly surrealistic representation of the All American Dinner. Even though I've lived and worked in the area for over 15 years, I only recently found this hole-in-the-wall. Tucked in the corner of a Dollar Tree-anchored strip mall, the Cozy Kitchen is my new favorite breakfast spot. Compared to similar diners, their food is less expensive without sacrificing quality. The menu is fairly standard for an American style diner. My regular order is the Trucker Special, which comes with 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, hash browns and a choice of meat (always bacon for me). With this much food, I have to come in hungry! This joint is run by an older Asian couple. Yes, the service can be a little slow, especially on the weekends when it's busy. As long as you aren't in a hurry, the food will be worth it. read more

The Cozy Kitchen uses cheap cuts of meat and you are lucky if you get a refill on coffee. The unfriendly Cozy Kitchen is known for its rudeness by the woman who waits on the customers. The woman has an air of entitlement in that she expects a 20% tip for the unfriendly service provided. The 5th Wheel is everything this at best mediocre place is not. I Yelped Cozy's 1/25/23 with four stars. Today I have to give 1 star. I've been going here 4 or 5 times a year for the last 30 years. The same couple who own it are the only staff. He is the cook and she does the rest. They have run it for at least 40-50 years. The food and decor never change which is good thing. The prices have gone way up but that is understandable. My issue is with the service. Today I forgot my glasses but I get the same thing every time. When I got the bill it was $24, $28 with tip! As I handed her my signature I asked her how much the coke and coffee was? She gave me a surprising stink eye and pointed to the receipt without saying a word. I politely said I don't have my glasses can you tell me. She hastily grabbed the receipt and wrote it down without saying a word. I replied with I cant see that without my glasses. She was pretty angry about something and people were starting to notice our short back and forth. I never got a word out of her and told her this is the last time I will eat here. I later found out the Coke was $4 and coffee $3. The only thing I could guess was that she only speaks a handful of words such as Hi, bye, yes, no, okay. If you have been serving the public for 45 years face to face it's a shame you can't communicate with them and than to take her frustration out on the customer for her inability to communicate is wrong. As far as retro diners go, this ticks all the boxes. Original decor, fabulous counter, small grill in the back corner. I doubt there are many places like this remaining. We'll be going here as much as possible. The menu is basic and perfectly good for breakfast. Tucked in the corner of the shopping center, you might miss it completely. Don't. Service was quick and courteous, my coffee cup never emptied. The food was well prepared (although my bacon was a tiny bit crispier than I prefer). Nothing fancy, totally reasonable prices. I sat at the counter and enjoyed a cup of coffee, while my food was prepared and when it came out, it was cooked to perfection unusual for myself that I finished every bite. Cozy Kitchen is the perfect name for this place! I would've given them 5 stars, but the service I received from the lady wasn't the best. We walked in around 9:40 something AM. Luckily there was 1 booth available so we sat ourselves down. Nobody said hello, after almost 5 minutes of waiting, we finally got a menu & our utensils. The lady still hadn't said anything to us. I then looked around, the spot is cozy, only 4/5 booths, 2 two people tables, and a bar with 15 stools in the shale of a square. Surrounded by the kitchen area. I then noticed there were only 2 people working. 1 woman taking orders, handing food/drinks. 1 man, cooking. My guess is it's a couple or brother/sister restaurant. Super cool. I love that the food is made to order. We had to wait almost 45 minutes for our food but once we got it, I understood why! The food was delicious. Warm and cooked to perfection. I am appalled at the treatment I just received coming here. I called ahead of time, asked them if I could place a order and PICK IT UP, because I have a dog with me, told them I could come in and pick it up, just not eat in because of my dog. They told me sure, we can do that. I ordered my food for me and my puppers, and then asked them about how long it would be before the food was ready. They told me they could bring it out to me, asked my car make and color. When the lady brought out the food, she asked for my card, which I gave. About 5 minutes later she came back out and said she hadn't ran it yet because they wanted to know if I wanted to leave a tip. I told her I really couldn't afford to (because I was on SSI and I had just spent a large amount of money on my dog that had to go to the vet twice in the last 3 days because of medical problems) but the lady just snapped at me saying she was on SSI too and that was no excuse to not tip, then proceeded to tell me not to come back OR eat out if I was on SSI! I asked to speak to her manager. Her manager was even worse, and more rude. She told me I was not a decent person and I should not be eating out ANYWHERE if I can't tip. I told her I ordered the meal for me and my dog which was over $11, and I said I would come in to pick it up when it was done, but the lady who took my order said she would bring it out to my car and asked me what it was/looked like. She called me a liar and said I "made it seem" like I expected them to cater to me. I never said I would not come in to pick it up! She then proceeded to tell me the same thing - not to eat out on SSI so basically, my dog has been having a REALLY hard time the last few days, she's been ill, sick, wanted to do something to get her to perk up a bit, and I'm not allowed according to these 2 women, to take my dog out and order food, if I don't TIP, because I'm on SSI? This is discrimination at its core. Then she told me never come back there again. What is wrong with society nowadays? Service is terrible! I can't see how they are still in business. The waitress/owner has a horrible attitude and half the time she communicates with hand gestures. She's is very fluent in English she just chooses to be mean and rude. Food is ok. Prices are fair We've only just found this place about 3 months ago and have come at least a handful of times each month because I am pregnant and really like their pancakes (very homemade tasting and cooked nicely) Every time we've come, the service has been the same but today 11/2/23 we walked out after just arriving and getting menus due to her rude demeanor. Kids are not welcome considering how small the space is I recognize why she gets upset when she sees us walk in with a toddler and baby. Probably won't be coming back. Came in at about 1:45 pm and the female waitress was probably the most rudest I've ever seen her. She basically told me they were closing and I didn't even ask anything or question it. Her remarks and actions made it clear she didn't want to have anybody in. I gave them another chance because their prices are affordable and came back for lunch a few months later. They are inexpensive, but the ingredients are poor quality, so they aren't really a bargain. The second time around the table was sticky, the fries tasted like they had been fried in stale, old oil. And the service dropped from unfriendly, to downright rude and offensive. Was just there and wanted to pay the bill and got angry looks from Ginny. Two of us were dining together and we were each paying for our own meal. Oh, I wanted to like this place, but I can't really give it more than two stars. It's a neat little shop in what looks like a former ice cream parlor. The place was pretty busy, so there's the first problem. I'd say Cozy Kitchen is run by the husband and wife team. The husband cooks and the wife waits on ALL the tables. We sat at the counter because it was the only place left. We got coffee and had to wait a while to ask for creamer. I think we even ordered, but after ordering she cleaned off the table at one of the booths and asked if we'd like to move. That was VERY nice and much appreciated. We did move. The food took a very long time to arrive and when it did it was absolutely nothing out of the ordinary. We could have cooked this at home easily. It was exactly what we ordered sitting on a plate. Nothing to dress up the plate. Nothing to spice it up... not even salt or pepper on the eggs. Just food cooked on the griddle and dropped on the plate. Sorry, didn't mean to go on about it - bottom line the food was plain and unexciting. That's really about it except to mention we were there for over an hour. I don't know exactly how long, but I'd say well over an hour. Probably approaching an hour and a half. The husband and wife team were not moving at a pace to keep up with the flow of customers. I'm laughing as I am writing this because the reviews are spot on! The food is okay (and inexpensive) but service is not only poor but tenuous and passive-aggressive. First we didn't order beverages just waters, and the lady stared us down for what felt like ten minutes lol. Then when we ordered we tried to add a couple items to a breakfast plate, and by her face I thought she was ready to pounce us. I knew going in about the service but didn't realize how miserable what I assume is the owner would be. I can deal with some attitude or apathy, but this was uncomfortable.
