Stopped in for a quick breakfast this morning after dropping our car off at one of the local dealerships nearby. Well "quick" was an understatement. Our greeter/server was friendly and gave us coffee but then took a while to come back and take our order. He and other server, I assume were chatting a bit. After taking our order we again waited a bit before the food came out. It wasn't very crowded so I guess I expected it sooner. Luckily it was hot and tasted good. I has the Breakfast Crepes and I could only eat 1/2 because it was filling and a large portion . My boyfriend had the Breakfast Combo and it was also good. The pancakes were light and fluffy, just the way I remember them growing up. read more

My most visited ihop. It is almost always busy. So expect a wait. The service is always good for me. Today Yazmin was the server & she was so sweet. I order the same thing the french toast & it's always so good. Your typical ihop ambiance but it always feels welcoming and homey. read more

This is our local IHOP and I've been coming here since first moving to the area in 2014. To me, IHOP has always had the best buttermilk pancakes out of all fast casual breakfast corporations in the area. I could literally order a short stack and call it a day. IHOP is your run of the mill diner, but they are exceptionally fast with their service, and the food taste is consistent. I loved that I recognized a server who had been there since a decade ago. I've been here on the weekends and on the weekdays; weekdays are still busy, but on weekends, expect there to be a wait. Food prices have gone up significantly; I paid $50 for 2 meals with tip included, but it was time well spent with a loved one. read more

Jenni was very nice the food arrived fast and hot. It wasn't crowded it might be because it's a Tuesday at 12:30. We got a booth instead of a table you can see the kitchen and the cooks preparing the food I like that. They have a 55+ menu which is good for me because I can't eat a lot of food at once. We will definitely be back, read more

I will say the food came out fresh but there was a bit of a delay in receiving my drink and my pancakes were supposed to have strawberry on them which the sever Jacob give me on the side. I noticed him doing a majority of the work while I was eating I saw him serving multiple tables without any assistance while his coworkers stayed talking and joking around with each other. I felt bad for him. I believe his manager came up to him and told him he needed to hurry up and clean. Although his co workers weren't doing anything in that moment the manager did not care and only gave him a talk. Whoever owns the Ihop needs to speak to the manager about proper management. I also noticed one of the employees had given a family member a customers food that had been ordered to go and her family member asked her for money which she allowed him to grab from the cash register. I wouldn't want other employees to lose the chance of receiving their tips because of this or even money being taken out of people's paychecks if there's missing money which I doubt they would do but still. You can tell Jacob was trying his best to do without any help so I truly do hope they give him a raise. I also noticed a possible health code violation such as running cold water over butter I'm not sure if maybe something was stuck on it this was one of the female employees. As well that same female employee had her phone on speaker out in the open while again Jacob was serving by himself. When we had walked in to be seated the female employee saw me and she didn't tell me if I could be seated yet for about 5 mins and when she finally did she said just seat anywhere you want. I wasn't sure since it was my first time going. read more

Not so good, Slow service, priced higher than competitors and the pancakes were doughy/raw. I counted 9 employees and 1 waitress, a lot of people looking busy doing absolutely nothing. Parking is extremely odd, not enough room to navigate around the back and your parking on a hill....I do not recommend this location. Go to Rosie's on B Street next to Grocery Outlet. read more

Lets start with their fryer being broken! So no fried foods... Ordered turkey sandwich which was NOT the best! Service was ok seemed like every other waitress was checking on us except for ours. The up side is, from my experience, there is never a wait time. Pre covid this location was always crowded. Now you can find an empty parking stall steps from the front entrance. The downside is, staffing. Clearly they had to cut back. You are seated quickly but you end up waiting just as long as you would if the place was busy. But I can't fault them for that. Good food and good prices (for now lol). read more

I love breakfast food and that's why I love eating here. It's not so big inside compared to other iHops I've been to. I did come in on a Wednesday morning and it wasn't crowded but I can only imagine what it would look like on the weekend. I ordered the egg white omelette with spinach and avocado and I added sausage. It was so yummy! Their pancakes are always so light and fluffy and big. read more

Tried again! This place is even worse than last time 20plus dollar burrito and they just stuff it with nasty hash browns, barely any meat, I had to inspect it to find any. What the heck is wrong with this place, management socks, wait staff slow and socks! And for the prices, what a rip off its become. Get ready to wait forever and then get ripped off! read more

I had always wanted to come to this old school IHOP. We finally had the opportunity thanks to my husbands family. He grew up in Hayward and so did pretty much all of his extended family. They chose this IHOP to have a mini little reunion. Come in early or be prepared to wait. While the wait wasn't long we did definitely wait. Other reviewers have said it looks small from the outside but they do have lots of seating. We had a bigger group and we sat fine. The best part of this IHOP is the service. I don't think I have ever had the pleasure of being served by such wonderful people. They were awesome! We ordered so much food too. I tried keeping it simple with just eggs over easy and sausage. The kids got benedicts and chicken and waffles. One kid got pretty much a dessert crepe they claimed was breakfast. My husband is an omelets lover so he go something like that. Everything was great. All of the food and all of the service. Its a big plus to also get to eat in one of the original IHOP's in the Bay Area. read more

October 2023 Update - IHOP is the newest restaurant to offer up biscuit meals. So I tried their breakfast sandwich with 2 scrambled eggs, hash browns and a side order of sausage. Of course I had to have bacon on the sandwich too. Sandwich was pretty decent and had that fresh taste. On some breakfast sandwiches I've had from some well known places, the biscuit was either too crunchy or too big for me to eat ETC. I think my next adventure in biscuit land with IHOP will be to try their biscuits and gravy and see how they compare to some of the others I've had. The prices on the meals are pretty good too and they brought a chicken biscuit sandwich which I too will try providing its crunchy and bold in flavor (the chicken that is) read more

IHOP holds a special place in my heart as a childhood breakfast spot that my family often visited. Over the years, I've discovered many new breakfast spots throughout the Bay Area, but I still find myself returning to IHOP every now and then for a dose of nostalgia. This time, it was their unlimited pancake promotion that drew me back, so I decided to see if the experience was just as I remembered. I chose to visit on a weekday morning around 11 a.m., which made a big difference in wait time. Typically, this small location can have wait times of up to half an hour, especially since it lacks outdoor seating. Fortunately, on this visit, we were seated quickly, and our server attended to us promptly. Despite the restaurant being nearly full with only a few servers, the service was impressively fast. We ordered, and our food arrived piping hot in no time. After finishing my first stack of pancakes, the server was already checking if I wanted more. While the service was great, the food was just as I remembered--rather basic and unremarkable. It was good enough and did the job of filling me up. I'd recommend IHOP for breakfast if there's a special promotion or if you're looking for a quick meal in the area. read more

I want to give a huge thank you to the manager, Christian, at the Hayward IHOP. She was incredibly kind, understanding, and professional. She truly cared about making things right and went above and beyond with great customer service. It's rare to find a manager who genuinely values both the customers and the food quality. The food was also fresh, hot, and delicious. I really appreciated how she handled everything IHOP is lucky to have someone like her! read more

I hadn't been to this location in years. We came on a Wednesday evening. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. My salad although pre-made was fresh. I had chicken strips that looked a little over cooked, but it was tasty. Better than having it overdone. My mashed potatoes was good, but was missing the gravy. I didn't say anything because I was distracted and too hungry. I still ate it. Overall, I would come back again. read more

I would recommend them but make sure you go to their app and get on the waiting list. Saturdays and Sunday are long waits. I have always been a fan of ihop even when they had two locations in Oakland but we won't discuss how long ago that was or I will give my age away. The food is always good and the variety is wonderful. My only complaint is sometimes the food is not hot but lukewarm, but I have never had to send anything back. I like when they have special menus so I can try out new things, recently they had blueberries and cream cheese French toast. It was so good! They had this bacon maple jam that was to scream for too! I hate it was only for a limited time. You could put that in everything. Nice comfort food place and if you have dietary restrictions, they have something for you too! The restaurant is always clean and the service is fast. read more
