Jenni was very nice the food arrived fast and hot. It wasn't crowded it might be because it's a Tuesday at 12:30. We got a booth instead of a table you can see the kitchen and the cooks preparing the food I like that. They have a 55+ menu which is good for me because I can't eat a lot of food at once. We will definitely be back,

Great service, the place is clean and the food is good we really enjoyed. The sever was very nice

Food always comes in timely manor, Service is always friendly from servers, especially from the Manager. The location is convenient, as well as the decor and ambiance being clean and designed well. I would recommend if any I-Hop you go to the one on foothill is the best option 10/10.

Not so good, Slow service, priced higher than competitors and the pancakes were doughy/raw. I counted 9 employees and 1 waitress, a lot of people looking busy doing absolutely nothing. Parking is extremely odd, not enough room to navigate around the back and your parking on a hill....I do not recommend this location. Go to Rosie's on B Street next to Grocery Outlet.

I DoorDash from this place. My omelet had TWO LONG HAIRS . I called the business and they mentioned the manger would call and ask of now I haven't gotten a call.

The up side is, from my experience, there is never a wait time. Pre covid this location was always crowded. Now you can find an empty parking stall steps from the front entrance. The downside is, staffing. Clearly they had to cut back. You are seated quickly but you end up waiting just as long as you would if the place was busy. But I can't fault them for that. Good food and good prices (for now lol).

I love breakfast food and that's why I love eating here. It's not so big inside compared to other iHops I've been to. I did come in on a Wednesday morning and it wasn't crowded but I can only imagine what it would look like on the weekend. I ordered the egg white omelette with spinach and avocado and I added sausage. It was so yummy! Their pancakes are always so light and fluffy and big.

Food & service were great! The short stack of pancakes that came with my boyfriends meal were perfection! My egg white omelette was pretty greasy but still good. Our server was attentive and sweet. She was honest with us about the iced coffee not being very good when we asked for some.

I had always wanted to come to this old school IHOP. We finally had the opportunity thanks to my husbands family. He grew up in Hayward and so did pretty much all of his extended family. They chose this IHOP to have a mini little reunion. Come in early or be prepared to wait. While the wait wasn't long we did definitely wait. Other reviewers have said it looks small from the outside but they do have lots of seating. We had a bigger group and we sat fine. The best part of this IHOP is the service. I don't think I have ever had the pleasure of being served by such wonderful people. They were awesome! We ordered so much food too. I tried keeping it simple with just eggs over easy and sausage. The kids got benedicts and chicken and waffles. One kid got pretty much a dessert crepe they claimed was breakfast. My husband is an omelets lover so he go something like that. Everything was great. All of the food and all of the service. Its a big plus to also get to eat in one of the original IHOP's in the Bay Area.

October 2023 Update - IHOP is the newest restaurant to offer up biscuit meals. So I tried their breakfast sandwich with 2 scrambled eggs, hash browns and a side order of sausage. Of course I had to have bacon on the sandwich too. Sandwich was pretty decent and had that fresh taste. On some breakfast sandwiches I've had from some well known places, the biscuit was either too crunchy or too big for me to eat ETC. I think my next adventure in biscuit land with IHOP will be to try their biscuits and gravy and see how they compare to some of the others I've had. The prices on the meals are pretty good too and they brought a chicken biscuit sandwich which I too will try providing its crunchy and bold in flavor (the chicken that is)

How are the biscuit offerings at IHOP compared to other places that offer them? I love a good biscuit and gravy.

    Do y'all have apple pay?

    Yes

Are they open for indoor dining?

There was limited dine in since the time you post this but since the restrictions were lifted, it's full dine in now no matter where you go and many places have de-constructed their outdoor arrangements.

We each got the salmon bagel, tea, and a latte, then found a table on their cozy and beautiful back patio. The drinks came out in beautifully painted drink ware. This place was such a nice spot to catch up and chit chat over good food. The servers were super friendly and helpful, and we never once felt rushed to leave or vacate our table. The noise level was just right, too. You would think being on A St would mean we'd hear cars the entire time and would have to talk over other tables, but everyone was respectful of each other and my friend and I could hear one another speaking just fine. O cambiaron ? Es un servicio muy diferente . I got to go to this cafe in Hayward recently with family and thought it was very cute. The food was very good and I felt satisfied. I was sad to see that the service has changed so much since my last visit. A worker commented negatively on my sisters tattoos, another opened a bag of tea with her teeth, and one waitress made me get the plate out of her hands/seemed inexperienced with serving food. I wonder if there is new management or new owners? It's a very different service from last time.

Integrated into downtown Hayward just a block from the theater and other eateries and drink spots, Khao Hom has made a strong impression in the local community drawing a good following for weekend brunch as well as weekday lunch. With street parking right in front as well as sharing free public parking in the lot behind the restaurant, once you've slogged through traffic to get to this area, you'll be able to easily park and venture in for your food experience. As you enter, you'll likely need to wait for one of their staff members to seat you in one of their two dining spaces. The rooms are well lit and enhance the ambiance of your meal (and photos) with natural lighting. When seated, you'll get their food and drinks menu in addition to finding their dessert menu at the table. As standard, each table gets a carafe of water for you to serve yourselves. Their menu is quite extensive in representing popular Thai flavors with a bit of flare. You'll find curries, soups, noodles and chef specialties in their own sections of the menu. They also have some alcohol infused drinks for those looking for a full brunch experience. As a novice to some Thai dishes, I did have to ask the staff to explain a bit about certain dishes, but there were a few that caught my eye and never let go. Thai tea - flavorful and bold; rich but not too sweet Matcha latte - rich matcha flavor and creamy; best sipped and can be packed in a to-go cup if you don't finish Tom yum crab omelet - beautifully crafted omurice-esque dish where you'll find white rice encased in an egg omelet topped with succulent pieces of crab meat and smothered in tom yum soup. This dish is not only a pleasure to look at but the taste and textures in each bite will have you salivating for more until the dish completely disappears. This unique take is a must get for first timers! Roti gai tod - crispy fried yet succulent chicken served with a small serving of creamy yellow curry, white rice, and a roti alongside their delicious chili sauce. Fantastic balance of textures and flavors will have your tongue dancing from the spices. Tom kha soup - a bowl of comfort with a whole lot of shredded chicken, red onions, and mushrooms with a few big quarters of fresh tomatoes. It's not as creamy as I would like but the flavor is there with its abundance in lemongrass. The portion is large as one order can easily split into two bowls. Fried ice cream - a meal topper and sweet indulgence for those looking to try something new and rarely found elsewhere. This giant meteorite of a breaded and fried ball of vanilla ice cream is topped with chocolate fudge, powdered sugar, a generous helping of whipped cream and plenty of fruit (strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, grapes, and cantaloupe). Definitely shareable and a surprising star of their dessert menu - they could definitely do more to advertise this! The staff were super friendly and quick to take dirty dishes out of the way. They kept the place clean, served the food promptly and treated all of their customers with respect and smiles. Top notch crew from the front of the house to the back. Furthermore, should you need the restrooms, they do have two gender neutral rooms that were decently maintained. Overall, Khao Hom is not your everyday Thai restaurant nor is it your run of the mill brunch spot - this is a unique experience with food created out of passion to merge these together. The result is an aesthetically pleasing yet hunger extinguishing meal that will have you discovering new flavors and craving for more. With its proximity to the city center, it's a great a spot to plan out a lunch or brunch before a nice stroll around or a movie. Thai food has never looked and tasted so good!

Parking was busy (the lot is shared with Trader Joe's) but we managed to find a spot and head into the busy but not packed cafe. There is a large assortment of empanadas, from meat options like chorizo and chicken, to vegetarian like corn and onion, to sweet options too like apples. The menu also boasts lots of great drinks including mate tea! Lucky us, the empanadas we ordered weren't in stock so we had to wait ~10 for freshly baked ones. They came out buttery and piping hot, even with little hand-stamped letters on them so you know what you're eating, and it was so delicious. Most are about $5.50 each. Add oregano chimichurri for a bit extra if you want or pair with a tea, but these empanadas really hit the snacky spot. Lots of wooden tables with fresh flowers make Pampas a great space to chat with friends or to sit and do some work. The most standout feature was the friendly and efficient staff who seem to build connections with everybody who walks in the door. Worth a drive to Castro Valley! Especially if you bring cash for a 10% discount off a dozen :)
