I would say it's solid mall food. The workers especially the cashier were really nice and the food was fresh and came out quick. The fries could've been crispier but wasn't bad. I upgraded to cheese fries and it's just the regular melty cheese. I wish the fries were seasoned better. Buffalo chicken sandwich was good. The bread is soft. I like how it comes with banana peppers. The buffalo sauce is on the more acidic side which I like. Chicken was a bit dry. While checking out the Round 1 within the mall, me and the gf were getting hungry so we decided to see what the food court had to offer. The wait in the line was ridiculously long, which I don't blame the cashier for as it was due to there being only 1 cashier and the two ladies in the front constantly changing their minds and one walking off several times to see what members of their family wanted while holding up the entire line in the process. For times like these and when business gets busy, I highly suggest management consider adding a second register so we don't wind up waiting 20mins in line. Although the hold up in the line was not something I faulted the cashier for, what I do fault the cashier for was her apparently inability to take an order down correctly. We literally repeated ourselves 5 times before she managed to get our order right. I even spoke very slowly, and deliberately, to make sure that I was enunciating correctly, and even asked my gf later to see if I was clear in my request. I get if there was a language barrier, however the cashier spoke perfect English, but was just completely spacing out. We ordered a regular Philly Cheesesteak, the above mentioned small chicken cheesesteak, two sides of fries, and a drink. I ordered from Grubhub during my lunch break. Their estimated completion time for the order was about 1hr to 1hr and 30 minutes. It was fine, however when I got to the store after receiving a notification saying "Order is ready!" the cook kept saying they did not have my order. I showed them my confirmation and everything, then they looked at the tablet and confirmed that they did get my order and they just need to make it. They said another 10 minutes. They took more than 20 minutes. As a customer, this was so unfair because my order took more than 2 hours to complete. It was so irresponsible of them to miss their online orders. One of my favorite mall stops is Charleys. I never have steered from the original cheesesteak. The buns are pretty good and soft. Steak is flavourful and not gristly. Ingredients are semi fresh. Prices are decent. Regular cheesesteak is $8. Meal is $11. You always know what you're getting quality wise and it's a solid 4 stars. I reserve Cheese Steak Shop as my 5 star spot for this cuisine. Pretty darn good cheesesteak place for NorCal and a mall. Chicken philly is tasty, white chicken, seasoned well and they put white American cheese. They put whatever toppings on it so had grilled onions, jalapeños, tomato and lettuce. Friend had the beef philly, it looked and tasted like rib eye, rich beef flavor from the marbeling, grilled peppers and onions. The hoagie they use is perfected, fluffy and soft inside, a bit chewy on the outside, enough so when you bite the sandwich, it has some chew and texture - yummy, don't need no Wonder bread here. I have to knock off a star. I received somewhat poor service yesterday. My food also got to me a little (I basically raced to the restroom when I was at Target). "Open Food": I was charged $1.64 for my extra meat. That's fine (I expected that), but my receipt totally confused me at first. Extra Meat was simply labeled as Extra Meat in the past (I briefly thought that I had been charged for not taking my food to go). If you order a Combo, it costs $.44 to upgrade to a Large Soft Drink. To upgrade to Regular Cheese Fries costs $1.09. Large Bacon 3Cheese Combo ($13.06- my total was actually $16.22 because of the upgrades I wanted): 8/10. Back at this restaurant again today. I love the prices the portions and the fresh food I get. I recommend this place because it's clean and the staff is friendly and you get a little more than you pay for which is always good, give them a try you won't be disappointed! In comparison to very authentic cheese steak restaurants I would say they're almost as tasty. I like the fact that they have a good drink variety and they have delicious strawberry lemonade and their french fries are always crisp and fresh. Short and simple for my first review of the new year. Ive never heard of Charleys Grilled Subs before but really needed to try them since ive got a yummy history with Cheesesteak subs. Overall chili cheese fries are amazing not enough chili or cheses but portion is better when ur not trying to eat much. I ordered the first thing on the menu Cheese steak sub, with everything on it and grilled onions and asked for jalapenos, FREE JALAPENOS! extra jalapenos porfavor.
