I was at Wienerschnitzel today and I ordered two chili cheese, dogs extra cheese, extra onions. The order came up really fast and I always look at my order before I take it out. I looked in my order. The cheese was cold. The chili was lukewarm, so the young lady proceeded to remake the order. Now, while she's remaking it, I'm watching her, and I watched her take her filthy hands and roll that hotdog after putting my hotdog in her bar nasty hands with no food handling gloves I declined and asked for my refund . They were not apologetic didn't make any necessary corrections health and safety is really important as we know that germs are transmitted in so many different ways. But especially today like every day since 2019 there's been something going on and the fact That these women were in that restaurant working with no mask, no gloves talking over the food laughing very dismissive. They were very rude. I had no problem giving me my refund, though it took her all of 10 minutes to figure out how to refund me back my cash. It's really sad that I have to continue to do reviews and it's really sad. Also that consumers restaurant owners are condoning. This kind of behavior. It is so not OK. I know for you guys. It's just about the money. But keep in mind that we're human beings and we work very hard for our money. We have families. I remember my Junior High days riding my bike downtown with my buddies to get corn dogs. I was driving home through Hayward and remembered that Wienerschnitztel has a Four Chili Dogs for $4 special on Wednesdays. I ordered a special. The chili has a little bit of spice, the buns are steamed and the hot dogs are semi-firm. For the price the hot dogs were good. I like the corn dogs which have a sweet batter, fries are pretty good (never under or over cooked) and both the chili dogs and chili cheese dogs are good. My partner loves Wienerschnitzel. When we lived in downtown San Jose, there was one a few blocks away and we would grab it for late night drunk munchies. For me, Wienerschnitzel is just OK. It's something I have to be in the mood for. Now that we're in the East Bay, the closest one is in Hayward, about ten minutes away. This location is nicer and the portions seem bigger compared to others. The only downside is that at night you get a lot of people who are obviously high coming to order food. My favorite thing here is the jalapeño poppers. They are completely different from the ones at Jack in the Box and honestly way better. When I'm feeling nostalgic junk food this is the place to go or if I want something quick that's cheaper than cooking - you get the idea. I havent had Wienerschnitzel is literal years...but for some reason as I was passing by this place I had a weird craving for their mini corn dogs that I used to get when I was a kid with my mom. Mini Corn Dogs 20 pc ($11.99) - I don't remember these mini hot dogs being $12, but with the way prices work these days, I wouldnt be surprised if it went up! However, it was still very much worth it. They were really fresh, made to order and I was really surprised about that! When I say they were fresh and hot, they really were to the point where I couldnt grab one to eat in the car right away (hehe) Nevertheless, these mini corn dogs were my favorite thing to get here and it was such a nostalgic feeling eating them again! It also brought me back to my Hot Dog on a Stick days but in mini form! Fish and Chips ($8.99) - They advertised these fish and chips on the glass at the cashier so I assumed it was new! They had an option for their regular size for $4.99 (2 pieces of fish) or if you wanted to upgrade to a large (4 pieces of fish) then its $8.99. I opted for the larger size as I was bringing this home to my family to eat. The fish and chips were also freshly made and didnt feel like it was sitting there all day or anything. The fries too were also really nice and hot. The fish was pretty crispy and had a nice "crunch" when you bit into it. The only thing was their tartar sauce tasted a bit off to me. I still ate it throughout my meal, but started putting less and less of it. The only negative comment is near the soda machine, there were some flies congregating in one general area of flight. I didnt mind them too much but they were definitely just swarming around in one area for a while so I didnt know if it was the soda machine itself or just flies that made their way from outside. Overall, you cant go wrong with the 2 items I ordered! A great grab and go meal if this is something youre craving. This is a long overdue review but damn! This place has great food! My husband usually has his hotdogs and I have the burgers. Speaking of Burgers their double is huge! But taste so good and has a great amount of sauce! We always take turns ordering between Door Dash and Grubhub but they never mess up any orders. In fact I prefer their burgers compared to the other major fast food chains in this area. And delivery is always quick! My husband always has the Texas hotdog and never gets tired of it.
