Massive juicy burgers, local mom and pop shop. The service was quick and friendly. I recommend the classic burger which comes with pastrami on beef patty and the mushroom burger. You can't go wrong with any of their milkshakes too. We had the Oreo and biscoff shake. It was sooooo goood! They introduced a new item, garlic fries, which you can't go wrong if you're a garlic lover. It has chunks of actual minced garlic on top. Definitely a local gem!!!
This place looked wuite appealing from reviews so we came through post run We got a cheeseburger and classic burger along with a side of fries. Food was fresh, crispy and delicious. It was very satisfying and the married couple clearly have a lot of regulars coming through as so many people got take out from here. The burgers are solid and a nice size ~ I love that they're bigger than usual and not teeny tiny. Murals are also adorable with a picture of the mom and pop and fast food itemsnin a car~

This was recommended to me by a co worker and a cute little shop with a classic diner vibes. [SCORE & ORDER] OVERALL: 3.25/5 Classic Burger $ (3.5/5) -Cheese Burger with Pastrami -A classic cheese burger with a twist of sliced/bits of pastrami. I decided to get this since it was the name of the restaurant. The burger came with lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles (I did not get), ketchup, and mustard (I did not get) and pastrami. The pastrami was interesting and I don't think I am a pastrami guy. No matter though because the burger was just as delicious. It was super juicy and flavorful. For a mom and pop shop, it tasted like a classic burger place. The burger was also super hefty and was full just from the burger. A nice touch to the burger was that the top of the bun was also toasted which gave a nice crispy taste to the burger itself. Onion Rings $ (3/5) -The classic onion rings... Nothing to special about the onions rings but they were nonetheless delicious. Super crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. [SERVICE & ATMOSPHERE] (not reflected upon review score): We came on a weekday lunch time and the sit down was not as busy but there were people ordering to go. There is also a soda machine if you get that option. The staff was super nice and I believe she is the owner of the restaurant.
I've heard about this place for years since moving into town and never got the chance to try it until today. It is truly a town's jewel. The classic cheeseburger is a must. The fries were not greasy; onion rings were simple and yet tasty. The classic cheeseburger was simply delicious. Freshly made by the friendly owners. This will be our new go to burger place!
My husband and I stopped by Classic Burger in San Lorenzo on a Saturday at 1:15 PM. When we walked in, there were only three other people, so we weren't sure if it was going to be good since it wasn't packed. But soon after we placed our order and sat down, the place quickly filled up -- a good sign! From the moment we walked in, I was pleased to notice there was NO overpowering cleaner smell--my pet peeve--and the place was clean, cool, and welcoming. The staff was friendly and attentive, which made our experience even better. I really appreciated that we could see the food being cooked -- it's always reassuring to see freshness and cleanliness in the kitchen. We split a double cheeseburger and fries, and the food was delivered by a staff member piping hot, which was perfect. The burger was fantastic! I could taste the char of the grill, and the meat was nice and thick and meaty. The lettuce, tomato, and grilled onions added the perfect touch of flavor. The fries were hot and fresh, and the bun was just right -- soft, not too thick or bready, with sesame seeds that I love. Everything felt cozy and inviting -- a great spot to hang out and enjoy great-tasting, hot, fresh food. We'll definitely be back. Thanks for a fantastic quick meal!
I called in an order for a steak sandwich with mayo, lettuce and tomatoes only and I got an overcooked steak with only mayo and ketchup. I guess to them ketchup is the same as a tomato. You can see the quality of food one gets from the photo. It looks like it was a mistake from another order and they pawned it off on me. If you order from them make sure you check it make sure they made it correctly. Won't be going there any time soon.
Nice lil burger joint. Had very retro/vintage restaurant vibes. The food itself was pretty good & the staff were super nice. I enjoyed the burger meat. Wasn't the biggest fan of NY steak sandwich meat was a little too chewy for my liking but solid food. Next time will get the cheeseburger, fry/combo for $13
Was craving a Philly cheese steak and decided to give Classic Burger a chance. I was pleasantly surprised and thoroughly enjoyed my sandwich! Bread is soft and warm and the meat was tender and flavorful, with the cheese melted perfectly. Note the sandwiches are a bit small and probably won't fill you if you're super hungry though.
I've heard about this place for years having lived in the area for some time. I love the pastrami burger at Utah's Crown Burger so I was looking forward to trying this place! It's located in a little strip mall on Hesperian, definitely a hole in the wall kind of place. Old school menu board, older style tables/benches, it has that 1980's mom and pop kind of vibe. They are a bit understaffed when it gets busy but the food is cooked to order and they bring it out to you on an old school orange tray. I got the pastrami burger and fries. Portions were good sized and the pastrami burger was pretty good. Decent place to get a greasy burger from a local spot.
Damn it's my fault for sleeping on this place for too long. I would pass by it almost every day going to work in 2018/19, just never been. There's hella parking and easy to get to. When you see the sign and that thing is faded you know the food is about to smackerino. The place is clean and hella nostalgic. The burger is good, it's just a classic burger with no frills. The service is good too, they bring it out for you and pretty quick.
Wowzers! This place was amazing! While Yelping looking for a good place to eat I came across this gem of a restaurant and so happy I did! I saw all the reviews and nothing but positives so I had to try it. Pulled up and got to the counter. The lady at the counter was helpful, nice, and just wanted me to feel welcome! I asked what would be the best burger since it was my first time. She said the classic burger is what they've known for so I had to try! Wow! This burger was bursting with flavor, had that slightly toasted bun, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, must and mayo, bacon patty and pastrami and Swiss cheese! Yummmm!! I also ordered the fries that were cooked perfectly not oily and just right! This burger I can't stop talking about because it tasted homemade and with that flavor that can only come from a grill that's been used for years and has that old school taste to it! The burger was juicy and just done right! I highly recommend you stop here and have the burger yourself! With the sesame buns I like, this burger is a home run! If in the area, live close by, driving by or staying close by, you gotta try this place! You will not be disappointed!! I might have to drive from the Sacramento area again to come have this burger more often!
I was going to order, but I witnessed this man using his bare unwashed hand grabbing onion rings and putting them into the fryer. Then he proceeds to ring someone up and go back to using his unwashed hands to handle food! He needs to learn how to properly handle food!
Grew up in San Lorenzo. been with Classic Burger my whole life. You want a good local burger joint this is it. Seen this place evolve they deserve every dollar we give them. You can tell when Food is made with the heart. Start with the Og Classic. take your time this is a tasty burger. Love love love this place. Ten million start.

I've been wanting to try Classic Burger for a while. I found it through a Reddit post asking for the best burger in the East Bay. A bunch of places were mentioned and I looked up pretty much all of them, but this one looked the best based on the kind of burgers I like. I love a charbroiled burger where you can actually see and taste the char, a soft bun, and melted American cheese. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with an extra slice of cheese, swapped the regular onions for grilled onions, and got the fries extra crispy. The burger was amazing. You could really taste the char on the patty, and they even char the bun, which I loved. Everything worked really well together, and it was so good without tasting heavy or greasy like some burgers can. The fries were good, but I personally prefer thinner fries, more like McDonald's size. If I changed anything, I would've asked for extra mayo on the burger. Definitely coming back! read more
My brother loves this place. He says its his 3rd favorite burger joint to date. I wasn't impressed and I wasn't disappointed per se. I wanted to be blown away, especially on how much my brother hyped up the place. I'm a big time foodie, I want food that makes me close my eyes and ponder on the food in my mouth. This was not that, but it wasn't bad either. In my humble opinion it is mediocre but decent. The classic burger with pastrami was ok, the onion rings are not special at all. First time came here for a birthday party. Ordered a hamburger fries & coke. The burger was ok not really flavorful, sorry but being honest. my fries were luke warm. Service was great very sttentive, nice. Older burger place very homey, family. Was just expecting more afyer reafing all rhe great reviews. read more

I was craving a bigass burger, and this place definitely hit the spot. Exactly the kind of char-grilled taste I was looking for. The place is pretty unassuming from the outside, but definitely worth stopping by for a classic diner-style burger. Service was fairly quick given that I had to wait a little for my burger, but it was made to order. Would definitely come back when I'm in town again! read more

Been living in the Bay Area for over 30 years and this is the 1st time coming here. This mom and pops burger joint is really good with charbroiled burgers. Was craving a burger, so we decided to try Classic Burger... and boy it did not disappoint!! We got the bacon cheeseburger and mushroom cheeseburger, fries and onion rings and 2 shakes. Everything was a 10/10!! The burger size was a great size (wayyyy bigger than a lot of other places) and for a great price. The patty was thick and juicy. Perfect amount of sauce and the bun held up. We inhaled our burgers and already looking forward for the next time we come back. read more

We were in the area and really craving a burger, so we decided to stop by Classic Burger. Just a sidenote, I can be a little weary of trying new burger spots... Walking in it seemed like a business that had been around for a long time, which was good news, so we went ahead and ordered. We both ordered the classic burger not really knowing what to expect, but were very pleasantly surprised to find it is a good quality burger topped with pastrami! I had never had a burger with pastrami before, and I can tell you it is a great addition. Not only that, but also the patty was very well seasoned and portion size was good. Based on our experience, I do know that the wait can be a little long, so come prepared to potentially wait, and if not, you can peruse the grocery store down the way. read more

Classic Burger makes a damn fine hamburger. And some of the offerings are a little unique too. They have a hamburger topped with pastrami, and a mushroom burger, kind of standard,I guess but done very well. Why is this not five stars? Well the buns could be better. But the burger I had, which was a double cheeseburger with bacon was, absolutely sublime. Also big big + for their onion rings which were crispy and flavorful. Some of the best I've had in a long time. I put a couple of them on my hamburger. My mom got the Swiss burger. She enjoyed it very much. My sister got the regular hamburger. Also enjoyed it very much. The flavor of their beef is very good. Nothing I consider gourmet, just a burger done well read more

This place was recommended by someone local and I am NOT regretting it. It seems to be ran by an older generation Asian wife and husband (cannot confirm). You walk in and it's like stepping back in time to 1985 with the decor. They have an old school menu board and they keep it simple. The food tastes fresh and like you remember how burgers and fries used to taste (and probably should). Take note, if you're in a rush call ahead, this place is not for you if you're short on time or patience. The soda syrup/C02 mix was great. Meat is charbroil 1/3 lb beef and the onion rings are great. I have heard the philly cheesesteak is great as well, but have yet to try The folks here are reserved, but they are very nice. Food is brought out to you also like it used to be and is cooked to order, even the fries and onion rings. read more

Was looking for a classic type burger and this place did not disappoint. The bacon cheeseburger was juicy and delicious! The only thing that could have been better was the size of the cheesesteak. The interior made me feel like I traveled back in time. The staff was friendly with everyone. read more

They do not have a veggie burger....but, I've ordered the grilled cheese and added tomatoes and onions to it and it was goooood...
