50s style diner, most known for their grass-fed angus beef burgers. When I think of places like this I think of checkerboard pattern and red pleather, the interior looks exactly like this. In an odd way at one time it was designed to look 50s but it's aged a bit and is an odd mix 2000s and 50s. We came after a hike and were super hungry and tried some different menu items. Boulevard Burger: I quite like the benchmark certain burger places are setting with high quality beef. You can definitely taste the difference and you can customize these like crazy to hit your taste. Just with the base ingredients it's oversized and you have to smash it down to eat it, this makes the juices run out of the burger and into your hands and plate and the bun ends up soggy. I wish the potatoes they used were higher quality as well. Reuben: They use thinly sliced pastrami that I wish was a bit thicker and had more of the stretchy membrane in between. read more

I've passed by this street more than a hundred times and for some reason never noticed a burger joint here. They have a tiny parking lot along with street parking. Inside looks run down but like hole in the wall type of place. Sweet potato fries were good. I'm sure it was frozen. The garlic fries tasted like it was left over and fried twice. Onion rings were fine. I do like and appreciate that you can do 1/2 orders. The burger itself was on the well side while the whole burger got really sloppy like it didn't hold it shape. Boulevard Burger was really good, but not great. It tasted like an elevated Burger King Whopper--when BK gets it right (which isn't often), which is a compliment because it's one of my favs. The charred flavor was nice, and I liked that you can pick your preferred doneness. The produce is on the side as well which is fresh and nice so the burger doesn't get soggy. We kept it simple with the Boulevard Burger with cheese to get a feel for their basics. It was solid but not mind-blowing. Nations Burger is still our top pick, but it's always good to try new spots and see how they compare. The service was great, and it has a nice small-business vibe. The Boulevard Burger comes with a beef patty, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles. If you want cheese, that cost extra. They don't put any condiments on the burger, but they have condiment packets you can grab. The burger tastes like a better a Whopper from Burger King, but better. There's nothing special about the burger. It just tastes like a burger you would have at a friend's house that just came off the grill. I thought that was nice. Usually a place would charge but she didn't. We ate in the car because it all smelled too good to leave and wait to eat! Plus we were in the shade! We opened food and everything looked amazing! My burger was plain. I just like meat onions and lettuce with mayo! But omg best burger I've eaten since Sams Burger on e14th if you know, you know! Meat was seasoned it was a pretty big burger! Fries were on point! I loved all the sauces even the chipotle wasn't too bad and I don't like chipotle sauce! Someone clearly knows how to grill a Turkey burger so it comes out juicy and flavorful! Friggin delicious food, great prices, cool atmosphere with locals. And then...a Thrifty Ice Cream counter right down the street. Get off the freakin' island and check this place out!!! What assured a 4 as opposed to 3 is that I asked for my fries extra crispy and they were Perfect! Golden brown, not a single soggy fry. Atmosphere is neutral. I've been here several times since my daughters go to Judo next door. Diner style, not fancy, but service has always been great and fast. Prices are good which is difficult to find in the Bay area. Usually get kids burger which is sizable, and a tuna melt which is very tasty and has some actual veggies and crunch in the tuna salad. Maybe the burgers aren't that great but my kids love them especially since there is some crunchy cheese at the edges. Pickles are great and lettuce and tomatoes are always fresh. Fries are excellent, I never eat fries since I'm usually disappointed but these are so good. Worth checking out. read more

Example, I ordered a California burger (patty, avocado and) $11.75 but I asked for turkey instead of beef, mind you a turkey burger is only $10.75. So instead of substituting the patty, they charged me for a turkey burger and $3.00 extra for cheese and avocado. SMFH Then when I asked them about it, the cashier said they had to charge me that way and couldn't substitute the patty. Sounded like BS to me. So wanted to ask for my money back but I'm starving.
