I Doordashed from here, after seeing good reviews. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the expectations. I ordered 1 mango cake slice and 1 black forest cake slice. The cakes were predominantly made of cream (which didnt taste good in itself), mango cake was atleast ok to eat (with bits of mango and less cream, but the cake was itself dry). Black forest cake was quite unpalatable. I will not be ordering from here again. The only thing I liked was how it looked and packed. read more

Great place to get a last minute custom cake. We ordered the day before (24 hours) and picked it up the next morning. Theres a huge selection for flavors and type of cakes. The cake got some compliments from the adults at the party. However, when I arrived to pick it up the person was still making the cake, which meant the the frosting was not refrigerated. I brought it directly to our birthday party where it sat in the fridge for a couple hours but possibly but then the damage was done - the guy didn't tape the cake down to the box so it shifted and one side was ruined. The front side was still sort of ok- good enough that the kids didn't notice. Also the cake itself was dry- likely thawed from frozen and not fresh. The storefront is not the cleanest inside and they don't have much of other items in the bakery- just a few things here and there. I'm on the fence about trying them again. read more

My partner placed a custom birthday cake order on their website for a guava mousse cake and a message written in Chinese for their mother's birthday. They got called by the baker/store owner when the cake was ready and we went to pick it up; the cake was pretty, and the message written neatly on top. The owner also speaks Cantonese. I reach the Fremont bakery location after the scheduled pick up time - only to learn that the cake is not ready and it will take another 30 minutes. The person who I spoke to - intentionally demonstrated he didn't understand English. Also, his personal hygiene is questionable. He didn't know the ingredients of the cake. Wow !! Their cakes are always so fresh !! One of the nicest bakery in Fremont. They have a variety or breads and snacks, but I mostly go for their cakes. I've been seeing this bakery/cake shop whenever I go to Lions Supermarket. I finally decided to try them. I and my wife likes the bun and saw several items of buns. We had their chicken, pork, and taro buns. The person who helped us told us the buns were newly cooked. She told us that they also have plain and mung bean buns. The taro bun is delicious. There's a taro inside the bun and since we have a steamer, we were able to eat them warm. The chicken and pork buns are also good. The price for the buns is not expensive and we bought a package of six buns in a plastic package. We also saw several cakes on display and the decorations are fantastic. I liked the way it was made and decorated. You can ask for the flavor of cakes you wanted and they will make it for you. However, upon coming into the store in person, I had a different perspective. Even though I came here around lunch time, my expectations were shot when I entered a store where pastries didn't appear to be fresh and there were barely any buns visible. The cake rolls were collecting moisture in the open fridge. Also, to add to the oddness, the man working behind the counter is able to whip out any cake you choose from the list in 10 minutes. I read several reviews stating the cakes were frozen and didn't want to believe them, but it's true. The cake I ordered was dry, not moist, and appeared frozen... it was quite disappointing. The night before my friend's bday dinner, I realized it was her birthday. I was looking online for a local bakery that I can pick up a cake from, and maybe even have it customized. I've tried Farfalla's mango cake before, but saw online that the guava cake is the way to go! I quickly made a reservation online (there was no time stamp on when the cut off was for preorder), and hoped for the best. Feeling unsure if I would get the cake since there was no confirmation via phone or email, I went to Farfalla the next morning to check-in. I was about to order another cake on the spot, but the lady said they got my order. I came a few hours earlier than what I had made in the notes, but luckily they had the cake ready already, and just added the writing to it. Pro tip 1: check in on Yelp to get a free a macaron! (Might need to make some type of purchase) The cake was a hit! The guave flavor was not too overpowering, and the tartness cut out the sweet. We all enjoyed it, and I would highly recommend! This is a cute place that I like to bring my kids to get dessert when they've been extra good. They have a variety of little desserts that are pretty to look at. They can be a bit too sweet though. This place actually sells a lot of little desserts such as macarons. But I think I've only tried their guava mousse cake. Which is DELICIOUS. Not too sweet. Asian style cake, so not too heavy. Which means I can eat a lot at once. It's also aesthetically pleasing. I believe the cake comes in two different sizes. You have to order in advance (24? 48 hours? I forget), so keep that in mind. I've gotten it for multiple birthdays now, and it never disappoints. They'll write anything on the cake for no extra charge. I feel like I've never seen anyone in the store when I walk by or stop in, but it seems that they do have enough customers to keep the business afloat, which is great. read more

It was my first time here and I wasn't sure which flavor to go for but I chose the smallest size they had 8" Strawberry cream cake. The man who helped me was able to get it ready for me within 5 min. It looked so pretty and was packaged pretty too! The cake was actually good it was very soft, fresh, wasn't too sweet so that was nice, and his hand writing on the cake is also really beautiful! I also picked up a few macaroons to try them out they caught my attention on the counter. Those were also super good my fam loved them. This bakery is similar to 85 degrees, but smaller. They have fresh baked items that you can pick out and place on a tray, as well as cakes out on display. I got 6 different mousse cakes since it was buy 5, get 1 free - they were each $2.75. All the flavors we tried were delicious, although my favorite was coffee since it had a very intense coffee flavor. We also tried the ham and cheese croissant and the pork bun. The ham and cheese croissant wasn't the best, it was kinda cold and just had a big slice of processed cheese in it. Great bakery. This location doesn't have as much as the Newark location cause they do their baking in the Newark location. You can always call ahead to ask if they have certain breads available and if they don't, they will refer you to the Newark location. Prices and very good compared to other Asian bakeries.
