My app reminded me that I've been a member for 31 years!!! And yes, I probably go almost every week and might have even called it my Disneyland. You know that thing? "You just had a bad day at work, what are you going to do next?" Me: "I'm going to Disneyland!" I could probably find better use of my time, but it is MY time. I'm always looking for good deals and Costco always makes me feel better when I find something and know that I am getting it at the lowest price. And yes, I go online to see how much they're going for before I buy anything. And when Costco puts it on sale, it's a must (whether you need it or not lol). And the fact that they offer price adjustments within 30 days (and that snack bar hotdog/pizza) makes the membership fee somewhat worth it. Why not 5 stars? Well, let me tell you. I've never had to pay more for membership in my last 31 years! And they have this thing where they have random items available but only long enough for you to get hooked, then poof! They disappear never to be seen again. Then you look online only to find them at 3x what you paid for... darn you, Costco!!! And did you see the price for their chocolate-covered raisins now?!? When did they start costing more than cashews or mixed nuts? Is there a shortage on raisins? Here's a tip: don't get produce in bulk. Some may be worth the discount, but you're better off getting only what you can consume from your local store, especially when they put them on sale. read more

I wanted to give an update on my previous review. I finally got to use the rental car discount with my membership and it was $100 cheaper than anywhere else I looked, including triple a. I don't shop often at this Costco as it's further away than 2 others. The advantages here are the vast parking lot and better product selections. The gas station seems bigger too. If one likes to "shop" leisurely, this is the Costco to go to. Vast product selections, the lines look to be shorter as crowds aren't that big. Hearsay Costco sells many types of Dubai Chocolates, including an ice cream bar. Thought I saw the ice cream bar but not the solid ones. I did find Bouchard Dark Belgian Chocolate, 72% cocoa with only 4 ingredients: unsweetened chocolate, sugar, low fat cocoa, lecithin. No fillers like vanilla. 2 pounds (18) singles wrapped in aluminum foil. Compared to regular chocolate bars @5.29 for 2ish oz., Bouchard's chocolates are a great value!! read more

Foodcourt-- I called on Friday for my order for my daughters bday and re confirm today for May order at 1 pm to be pick up.. Bought a dishwasher from costco. Completely disappointed, both in the product and the service. Poor scheduling: They sent a text message saying that their scheduled arrival is in the afternoon, but two dudes knocked on my door early in the morning. Upcharge: The two dudes did a check and asked to replace a tube and a cap for $100. And the money went directly to that two dudes via cash or zelle. Several years ago I bought a washer and a dryer from Costco, and at that time the technicians didn't do this kind of scamming upcharge. These two dudes basically got in your home and charge you, putting you in a situation that is impossiable to turn down. Dear Management, Since there is no email address for file a complaint, I have to post this issues on yelp. I am writing to express my significant concern regarding an incident that occurred during my visit to your store on Hesperian Blvd. Hayward on January 6, 2026, at approximately 9:09 AM. The experience I had at the checkout register was highly unprofessional and left me deeply disappointed. During my checkout of several items, I encountered a situation where a few toys lacked clear markdown price tags. Naturally, I requested that the cashier, Anna May, provide me with the correct prices before proceeding with the transaction. At the very moment I made this request, my phone rang, and I briefly answered it. Unfortunately, Anna May appeared distracted and engaged in conversation with another male employee, identified as Bill, who was standing beside her. As a result, she did not hear my initial request for the toy prices. After placing my call on hold, I respectfully reiterated that I needed the prices confirmed before completing my purchase. It was at this point that Bill, who had been conversing with Anna May, abruptly interjected. Without understanding the context or the situation, he began to loudly accuse me of being rude, which was entirely unwarranted and inaccurate. His tone was confrontational and highly aggressive, causing an immediate escalation of what should have been a routine customer service interaction. Thankfully, a manager named Christian quickly intervened. He promptly instructed Bill to refrain from speaking to a customer in such a manner and directed him to step away from the register. I appreciate Manager Christian's swift and appropriate action in de-escalating the situation. However, the fact that such an intervention was necessary is deeply troubling. It is completely unacceptable for an employee to speak to a customer with such hostility and disrespect, especially when they are simply seeking clarification on product pricing. The behavior displayed by Bill was not only unprofessional but also created a very unpleasant and unwelcoming atmosphere. After I finished my grocery shopping & checked out, I was walking by the interior Tire Shop desk. Because there was no line there, and I saw a lady working at the desk, I popped in to ask her a question. Jennifer M stopped what she was doing and greeted me with a pleasant smile and said, "Good morning. Can I help you". I asked if Costco can replace the tire pressure sensors inside the tires on my Chevy Tahoe. She said, "Sure we can. Would you like to schedule an appointment or would you like us to do it right now"? Right Now! Who does this anymore? The guys working in the tire shop were just as pleasant as Jennifer. They were all extremely pleasant and helpful. (While they serviced my car, I watched Jennifer lift, stack & move full- sized tires around like they were Hula-hoops! Don't mess with this unassuming lady!) Pay no attention to the wankers giving 1-star reviews like the guy who complained, Costco's "undercover security officers don't wear uniforms"! You can come to this business center w/your regular costco card. they have sooo many drink options that we wouldn't find at our regular costco. We made sure to stock up on our sparkling water options :) I also found one of my favorite iced coffees here, Lee's Coffee! sold in frozen concentrate. Very decent liquor selection, see picture. Atmosphere - First location where I have seen a nursing mothers room, see picture. Cool. Good size food court and good size seating. Other departments - Gas station, tire center, pharmacy, optical, etc Open 7 days a week from 9am to 7pm or 8:30pm. Service - Also a training store for the new Newark location that will be opening soon. So plenty of team members today. Price - Always a good value! Came to "window-shop" and spent $300+... Owner Suggestion - Congrats on your success at this location since 2009. I know you built this when your other location was just for businesses. Just a quick update on Costco Hayward. Costcos are generally the same around. This one is not too bad and has a plenty of parking. I rarely go to this one as it's a further one. It is a pretty busy location, so try to aim for shopping during non-peak times. This time around it was just a normal Costco run, finding Coke Zero, finding a deal for sweatpants. For many of us Costco is a necessary evil. Yes we always bitch and moan about the crowd density and how the parking lot raises our blood pressure by 50 points. But we all endure it to get some seriously awesome buys and every regular customer has their set staples here. But for as much flack Costco gets, this one is one of the least painful for me to go to. This place is probably slightly a decade old, but it still seems somewhat new to me. The parking lot is a bit convoluted in terms of entry/exit points and several tight corners that easily get jammed up. But the actual stalls are crazy wide and generous so there is little chance that your door will get bumped or dinged. And it is also easy to get in and out of. I've seen the meat section evolve over the years and I always like to see 'what's new' or 'what's on special'. They have more meats now that are pre-marinated or seasoned, which is not really a draw for me but I know it could for many out there who aren't the most seasoned cooks. I once found the trimmings to ribs where it is a thinner cut, so almost like miniature version of ribs. It was like $2ish per pound and I was able to make some nice dishes with it. I like the seafood case here, lobster tails, king crab legs for special occasions and now a legit and rotating array of fresh fish that I find much better in quality than even Asian markets like 99 Ranch. They used to have the same old selection like farmed Salmon, Tuna and Tilapia, but now sport things like black cod, 'wild' salmons and even whole small snappers. What I'm not a fan of are their baked goods and their produce. There are some nice finds every now and then, but the stuff baked on site is just industrial baking to me, so pretty darn mid. And the bulk produce like apples and grapes are super mediocre and also super industrialized agriculture meant to make things big and large but not necessarily tastier. Now as everyone already knows, you do HAVE to buy a larger quantity of any item here, so this place is not really a fit if say only buying for 1-2 people in your household. But if one can use the quantity in a timely fashion than Costco deals are hard to beat. I avoid weekends here like the plague. I like to go early weekday mornings like the first hour of opening or like 2-3 pm on weekdays. In those time frames like I said earlier makes Costco shopping bearable and often times even, a pleasant breeze. read more
