Costco Wholesale, Hayward (Hesperian)…read more Just like other Costco's, I avoid the one in San Leandro because it's always crowded, this Costco isn't so bad. I was in the area so we stopped in, made a quick purchase. Would come back.

"You just had a bad day at work, what are you going to do next?" Me: "I'm going to Disneyland!" I could probably find better use of my time, but it is MY time. I'm always looking for good deals and Costco always makes me feel better when I find something and know that I am getting it at the lowest price. And yes, I go online to see how much they're going for before I buy anything. And when Costco puts it on sale, it's a must (whether you need it or not lol). And the fact that they offer price adjustments within 30 days (and that snack bar hotdog/pizza) makes the membership fee somewhat worth it. Why not 5 stars? Well, let me tell you. I've never had to pay more for membership in my last 31 years! And they have this thing where they have random items available but only long enough for you to get hooked, then poof! They disappear never to be seen again. Then you look online only to find them at 3x what you paid for... darn you, Costco!!! And did you see the price for their chocolate-covered raisins now?!? When did they start costing more than cashews or mixed nuts? Is there a shortage on raisins? Here's a tip: don't get produce in bulk. Some may be worth the discount, but you're better off getting only what you can consume from your local store, especially when they put them on sale.

It has been a long time since I was last here... So time for an update…read more But now that I am shopping at Cardenas Supermarket down the street, I can frequent you more often. And I am going to check out your regular Costco in Hayward also on my next visit. Quality/Quantity - I like visiting the Business Costco because they have slightly different items from regular Costcos. And I sometimes discover some GREAT finds. Well, not today. I like buying your commercial kitchenware from this location. Good quality and reasonable prices. No fresh seafood at this location. No food court. Actually, very limited departments. Just noticed that I do not have many pictures for this location; I will change that on my next visit. Atmosphere - They added gas to this location in April of 2022. Makes parking slightly harder, but I like to walk. Neat and organized; actually, it is even more spacious than I remember from my last visits. Service - Consistent. Price - I never check. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success at this location since 1992. Congrats on all your success since 1976, since Price Club. Now you are the 5th largest retailer in the world and #10 on the Fortune 500. 804 warehouses worldwide, with 558 in the US. 1980 IPO. 1993 Price Club and Costco merger. 1997 Rebrand all locations to Costco. 2020 105.5 million members.

Whoa I had driven down this road many times but totally missed glances over here. Maybe I looked…read moreonce but thought it wasn't for the public. You see US Foods is one of the big wholesale food distributers that restaurants big and small use. They will deliver big loads of goods whether food or supplies right to the restaurant, usually on pay terms so no cash is handled. And for busy restaurants this is a must, as they constantly need raw goods coming in weekly if not daily. This is the first time I saw a 'US Foods' store. I think they took over something else. But it is a big store/space where almost everything is in bulk and/or wholesale form. For the home cook there is really nothing here that would fit their needs/kitchen unless you like to buy in bulk. 20 - 50 pound bags of beans, sugar or flour is usually just too much for an average Joe to carry to the car, let alone store in a home pantry. But if you like to entertain/cook for a large group like a big birthday, a bbq outing or big holiday get-togethers, then this place may serve you a purpose. I browsed one day and got a good feel for the place and here are my observations. If you go into the fresh produce area or the meat/dairy areas, you will have to go into a refrigerated room. The whole room is about 35 degrees so if you go in there in shorts and/or a t-shirt, then you will not be able to stay in there for too long. Produce not really extensive but you will be able to find some basics. Some things are in cases/big bags but not everything. Actually lots of things in smaller packaging like 2-3 pounds which is doable for a home fridge/usage. I'd say the offerings here are somewhat similar to what you could get at Costco. Meats are a mixed bag. Lots of processed meats like deli meat in whole form. Lots of cheese too but much too bulky for a home fridge. There are pork and beef but all in big/whole chunks. Nothing will be cut into steaks. Big packs too like minimum 10 pounds or more. But if you're cooking for a big group, you're gonna need a minimum of 10 pounds so this may be a draw for me. The bad is for the beef selection, even though the pricing did seem good, there is no 'choice' grade. They use 'select' grade here, which is a notch down from choice. But if you're just braising or slow cooking then this grade would be just fine. Costco only serves 'choice' grade or higher so theirs is more premium. Pork is fine here, I got some pork tenderloin in 2 packs, which is one of the smallest packages I saw, ideal for home usage. Good selection of restaurant ware. Pots, utensils and storage containers. This is a big draw for me as I love restaurant quality storage containers. They are sturdy, with tight lids and many are stackable. These are even hard to find at Costco and Smart and Final. On a weekday morning there is zero traffic here, complete opposite of Costco. Now this is more geared towards restaurants, but knowing if I can get something here or Costco, I will choose this, as the parking and ease to get in and out is an amazing asset to me. I was gonna give them 3 stars for not really being friendly for home usage but given those certain occasions where I'm cooking for 10 or more people, then this place will get a heavy consideration. And drum roll please******no membership card needed. Open to the public. **cymbal crash**

I like shopping here because the prices are pretty good and less crowded than other brand stores.read more

I had prepared red envelopes to express appreciation for your hardworking staff, reflecting our long-standing business relationship. Upon arrival, I was pleased to see that your company had arranged a small buffet for employees. The warehouse staff were polite and exchanged festive greetings, creating a positive atmosphere. This reflected well on management and is worth acknowledging. However, an incident that followed severely disrupted what had been a pleasant morning. I must clearly identify that the staff member involved is the senior female employee from the back department responsible for vegetables senior lady ! This day she was standing their cut pork for customer and employee! she refused to provide proper portions to my employee, who was waiting in line appropriately. Instead, she directed her to take leftover scraps filled with excessive bone fragments. When I calmly asked for clarification, this staff member responded with a cold, impatient, and hostile attitude, demonstrating a complete lack of professionalism and basic respect. My employee feels like homeless need get her food ! As long-term customers and fellow business owners who consistently support your company, we expect fairness and respect, particularly during a festive occasion meant to reflect goodwill. As business operators ourselves, we understand that management culture directly affects reputation. What we witnessed today raises serious concerns regarding internal service standards and supervision. I respectfully request that management review this matter seriously and reinforce professional training to ensure equal and respectful treatment for all customers moving forward.

The place is well laid-out, they have a wide selection with what seem like reasonable and competitive prices (and great specials), and the sales team is incredibly friendly, patient and helpful. I was pretty indecisive, and my salesperson talked me through my options, pros and cons of using certain types of fixtures, and made creative suggestions for how to display particular items. Also, this location's return policy is generous so I'm not sure what happened with the other reviewer. You have 60 days to return unused products, with no restocking fee. I was told that if something didn't work out or if I just changed my mind, all I had to do was bring it on back in its new and unused condition! My happy shopping experience even extended into the warehouse, where the gentleman who pulled my items helped me realize that I'd ordered one too few hangrails. They took care of that for me right away and I didn't even have to go back into the showroom. Not to mention, the other gentleman in the warehouse rescued this big beautiful hawk that managed to fly into the warehouse and get trapped. He scooped it up in his hands and gently placed it atop some pallets and was monitoring its behavior as I left. But I digress! The two men loaded up my car carefully and gently with my new loot, and I was on my merry way. I'd definitely recommend this place for all sorts of reasons, and to top it all off they have a really professional website complete with an online catalog so you can shop in advance!
