Costco in Pleasanton has a lot of new products. I got to try some of them And purchased a few . I love the crunch master cracker . It tasted delicious with small seeds on the cracker . Low carbs and high fiber . Three bridges egg white bites for breakfast. It is healthy and needed only 60 seconds of microwave. Bear promise teal fruit rolls are tasty , easily to bring on a hiking day or keep one inside your purse for a low sugar snack. Dark chocolate raspberry pistachios almond bite looked fancy ! Finally made it out to this "new" location for Costco in Pleasanton. Its located past the Bay Club health club. I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't that crowded on a Saturday afternoon. It was busy but not too crazy and the line to check out was not bad at all. The parking lot is good sized and I got a decent spot without having to circle around too much. The staff were really pleasant and friendly. I like this location. read more

The newest Costco in the East Bay is nice, clean, and well-stocked. It's located near the 680 freeway side. The parking lot configuration is okay, could've been bigger and better. This location offers EV charging and a gas station for its customers. Plenty of sample tables to try all sorts of products. There is a good mix of Asian snacks and frozen food items available. The deli, meat, and produce section carry fresh items. The check out section has a self-check out area for less amount of items to scan. This is a great place for your grocery and shopping needs if you are in the area! read more

I just shopped at Costco this morning (thursday) in Pleasanton (checkout around noon). I bought a lot of food and other items today, such as fresh veggies, mushrooms, fruits, cocktail shrimps, frozen fish, french Brie (double cream cheese), crumble feta (cheese for salad), non-fat Greek yogurt (Fage) , frozen K snack - walnut cakes w/ custard style filling , frozen C snack - Panda Buns, frozen flat bread pepperoni pizzas, K- tteokbokki rice cakes w/ sweet and spicy sauce (Bibigo), strawberry waffles (breakfast/snack/dessert) , sliced brioche ( pack of 2), strawberry shortcake bites, power up premium trail mix (mega omega), bird nest drinks, kitchen product, healthcare products and skincare products etc... The staff at the checkout line was helpful. He scanned and processed my items (from the roller & cart) were smooth and fast. Many checkout lines were long at noon today (lunch hour busiest time 12pm-1:30pm) . Today, There were a lot of free samples booths inside Costco (Pleasanton) today (Thursday). Staffs at the free samples booths were friendly. I found that this Costco was adding few more choices of K food products in these couple months. It's a good thing for customers! HMart is only 1 exit away from this Costco ( Pleasanton). Overall my shopping experience at Costco ( Pleasanton) today was Great! read more

I always like visiting different Costco's just in the off-shoot that they might be have something different, plus I like Costco a lot. Overall, nothing too out of the ordinary. Parking layout is a little off, but it didn't feel overly packed inside as the location is pretty large. Although check out was a bit of a pain. Still, lots of stuff to buy. They also don't have a lot of beef...1-2 packages of each ... PHARMACY REVIEW only for now (Pleasanton location): Not once but 2 separate occasions (2mos apart), you talk to a staff member who then quietly passes the phone to another person while you are mid-sentence (without asking), then the next person says "this is the pharmacy, can I help you?"....I said I was just talking to someone else, then she says "okay". And i start talking again and then she hangs up. I mean I know they are busy and in a hurry but no excuse for this child play. Especially when you patiently go through their phone tree, wait on hold for them to answer, then in the end they don't let you finish a conversation with them on why they can't fill a medication. I didn't call again. I'll just have my doctor talk to them....but Uggh! Frustrating! read more

This Costco took forever be be passed by the Pleasanton naysayers and environmentalists legal issues Covid a lot of factors which made it take forever to become a reality. The huge question was the location kinda squished in a 580/680 free way corridor where hundreds of thousands of cars bypass weekly . I was even skeptical because there was on my two way s to enter the location proposed. On paper it didn't look like a smart idea at all . I was really skeptical. But in 2024 November it finally opened and Pleasanton residents had its own Costco to call their own , no more going to Livermore or Danville to share a Costco . This even had a full size gas station with plenty of pumps. There has never been a bottleneck getting in and out . Costco did a wonderful job with the roadwork and freeway exits and entrances . Timed lights it all worked out. Inside this is your basic Costco , lots of tables and seats for the food court and is a very large inside. I never had an issue here. I know have an option to pick 3 shopping Costco in has it's own advantage in their own location .5/5 It's never too late - great things come to people who wait an the people of Pleasanton waiting patiently for theirs and the have an awesome modern Costco , finally. read more

A couple of employees once called it the "Costco Experience." * Rude young employees - it's like they don't want to be there, or they're not there to be productive (just not get fired). I have observed this since they have opened. I even saw an employee rudely lecture this Asian lady in front of me in line. He then lectured me as I think he assumed I was with her or her friend. She and I stared at each other in shock. I thought that was a one-off. But today, I realized that attitude is still prevalent at the Pleasanton Costco. * The food court. I picked the wrong line, and left after 15 minutes while waiting for the same transaction to complete at the counter. They called more workers but the workers don't really care. They called folks from the line that wasn't stuck. Too bad for the folks in my line. Let your perishables perish while waiting for cheap, unhealthy food. It's funny because avoiding this separate line mess is taught at business school (Retail Operations 101). So this is the worst Costco of all three Costcos in the TriValley. read more

Nice looking Costco. Seems it's pretty new, turns out it was opened just last Nov 2024. Definitely much better than many of the other ones in the East Bay. The building looks quite new, clean and wide entrance. You can see the mountains surrounding so it's a great view out front. Gas station was easy to access and lines were short and no wait, not to mention prices much less than South Bay and even other parts of East Bay. The rest of the store looks like the typical Costco, but there's an optical department which not every location has. Staff are friendly and quite helpful. Costco recently opened a new location here. Long lines entering, difficulty parking, outage of certain items a guarantee. Never tried to grab those boozy spirits on opening day. Not a fan of waiting in line. Finally went. This costco the biggest i've seen. Even has a large electronics department. Every department bigger than the usual. Even self check out lines open. Went in the afternoon, easier on my nerves & patience. Just grabbed a few necessary items & split. No browsing around. Didn't stop for samples. Wasn't looking either. Just watching for the inattentive shopper(s). Buys: vitamin E (9.49) -for antioxidant benefits Extra virgin olive oil (26.99) -a shot in the evening has reputed health benefits Multigrain crackers (7.69) -low sugar, salt, fat content, no bad carbs. I was a bit perturbed, but one of the managers helped me by getting a chair I could sit and let me use his phone charger while I waited. Could this be my new favorite Costco?! Maybe, maybe. This is a new Costco in the East Bay and you can tell it's new because of how clean and well stocked it is. I might also just be going at the good times - weekdays in the morning/early afternoon. It's never crowded during those times so you can browse with ease. It's also always freshly stocked at that time so there's so much to choose from. And the best part - they have eggs, and lots of them! (lol) They also stock some brands that I don't always get to see at other costcos. I found some solid Nike sweaters and joggers here. They have a relatively large parking lot as well so you should find parking easily. They also have a gas station here and it looks like theirs has plenty of room for the long lines. Their pharmacy is great as well. I was able to pick up my dogs' prescription super easily and quickly. I thought I would be browsing for awhile to wait, but they had everything ready in less than 15 minutes. Overall, love this Costco and will definitely be stopping by again and again! read more

I went on opening day so it was chaotic but I wanted to smell what a new Costco smells like so I will update my review once I get more familiar with the regular business traffic. The opening was fun but too many people so I mainly browsed instead of shopped. Asian rating level 3 for Asian goodies! They had deluxe samples of Mila dumplings yum! Opening day also had hokas, Uggs, Tory Burch flats, and rare Pokémon cards people were going nutty for. The parking here filled up quickly. They have a gas station! The tire center was inside and didn't have its own entrance it was next to the food court. You could tell the staff were still in training I felt so bad for them to endure opening day. Bless their workers! The selection of items here were great and they carried some interesting stuff I didn't see at other Costco's. So we hit up the new location in Pleasanton, and we're not disappointed! The deals were amazing and the selection of goods, was awesome! We found women's Gap pants for 5 bucks each, and Men's Wrangler Jeans, for 6 bucks! They had swimming trunks for 3 bucks, but I passed because I didn't need a pair. I enjoyed the new crispy look of this location. Very clean, well organized and comfortable to ease your way through, from beginning to end. I just wished I lived closer to this Coscto. Typical Costco gas experience, but since this Costco is fairly new, the gas station is also brand new and well-maintained. The lanes are very wide and spacious, making it easy to navigate. There are five rows of pumps anthree pumps per row, which is a bit fewer than some other Costco locations. Today, Sunday December 14th around 5:00 PM, I had a very unpleasant experience at the Costco in Pleasanton. One of the aisles was closed, and there was an employee standing on the opposite end of the aisle, laughing and chatting with a coworker. Several of us were waiting, and after almost 10 minutes, no one came over to assist, explain the reason for the closure, or ask what we needed. I was only trying to grab a drink and leave, and I had other errands to get to. After waiting for a long time with no help or communication, I crossed the aisle to quickly get what I needed. At that point, the employee suddenly ran toward me and yelled that I wasn't supposed to cross. I understand that crossing was not allowed, but the way she handled the situation was extremely rude and aggressive. There was no attempt to calmly explain the situation or provide customer service. I've been to many Costco locations, and this is the first time I've had such a negative experience. A simple explanation, communication, or basic courtesy would have made a big difference. Unfortunately, the employee's attitude and behavior were unprofessional and left a very bad impression. read more

It's only been open for days and the lines are already wrapping around the corner. Johnson drive has some bottle neck as it is a road way parallel to the high way. The traffic is insane. Parking is hard. Mila already hosted tasting with Uncle Roger here - a perfect place for celebrity sighting. My friend thinks this place offers better Asian American options. And uncle roger's appearance only got young people more excited. I saw families arriving in big vans to visit the Grand Opening Month - now. This place has good alcohol selections, fancy drinks (pleasanton worthy). There's an outrageous Bordeaux tasting kit and priced insanely but impressive to look at. Overall busy, lots of staff, lots of products, your typical costco with some grand opening excitement. I will oscillate between here and Livermore. I like both. But new is definitely exciting. Had to check out the newest Costco in the Bay Area. There are charging stations in the parking lot, so def a plus. Layout was nice as they def stacked the items that you are probably going to buy in the front of the store. This Costco is brand new, it opened a couple weeks ago so it got a lot of foot traffic to see if there was anything fun and unique. The Costco is a good size and has a lot a similar layout to the Richmond Costco which is the Costco I regularly go to. They do have a wider selection of prepared foods in their meats section, including a whole aisle for sushi (rolls, nigiri and sashimi) which looked pretty legit. I will say their parking lot looks smaller than some of the regional Costcos. I drive an EV, so I was pleasantly surpised there are EV chargers there, that's the first time I've seen EV chargers at a Costco. They have a gas station which is also pretty busy. The time I went was just after Thanksgiving and it was unusually busier than most Costcos, I wonder if that'll stabilize if people don't go out of their way to check out this Costco over ones that are more convienently located. read more
