Right off the 580 freeway next to In and Out and Chick fila. Lots of parking . Usually never a large line to checkout , if it does they are quick to open a new register . No self checkout. Pros are low prices , has everything you need. Not all the service s not as big as Safeway but you can get everything you need basically . People who work here are nice . They always have a sale and the sales papers are on the right when you enter . Candy is locked up now. You don't need a membership to shop here like Costco . The other nearest one is in Danville. I shop here mostly when I need things for a cookout or bbq season. They carry everything , even lottery kiosk. read more

I came in to do some significant shopping and needed to cash in a winning lotto ticket for $250 and the manager on duty told me they didn't have that much. I told her I was going to go shopping and she apologized and said she just did a drop and doesn't have it.. Welp I definitely would have at least spent $100-$150 of it there on groceries. I'll just do my shopping at Safeway I suppose. And I know there is no way in the world a store like this doesn't have $250. Review is for Doordash: Most of my grocery shopping is between Costco, Safeway, and 99 Ranch. In the age of COVID along with poor air quality in the East Bay, its often better to Doordash your smaller-volume groceries and supplies. I never been to Smart & Final Extra! before, but I'm now a fan. Their Doordash menu has hundreds if not thousands of items at reasonable prices. i picked up some of my favorite items here: * 1-gal Crystal Geyser Water - my favorite brand, and just over a buck. I normally buy 12 to 16 at a time at Safeway but will order 4 per Doordash order. * Orowheat Organic Thin-sliced 22-grain and seeds bread. So soft and good! We like this brand more than Dave's Killer Breads. * It's It Mint Chocolate Chip - this ice cream sammie is the real San Francisco treat. Ice cream between oatmeal cookies and coated with chocolate? Yessir and definitely worth the 320 calories. At under $4 for a 3-pack its a definitely bargain. They also have lots of adult beverage options. However, ordering by Doordash may require physical ID verification with the Dasher, which sorta defeats the purpose of contactless delivery and minimizing social distance. read more

Visited Tuesday October 9th around 9am to purchase 6 vegetable oil cases and 14 round tomato cases. Was met with ABSOLUTELY RUDE, CONDESCENDING, and TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE with the exception of the worker named Robert. Cashier was EXTREMELY RUDE AND CONDESCENDING as well as one of the STOCKERS. I run a business and I'd never employ such people with this type of attitude to represent my brand. Smart & Final management please retrain your staff to show human decency and mutual respect. Very immature bunch(again, with the exception of Robert). I've shopped at Smart & Final since the 1990s and over the last 25-30 years I've spent at least EASILY $500,000 shopping at Smart & Final and/or Smart & Final affiliated stores yet this is the treatment I get. I bought a bottle of wine which was listed on sale for $10.99. The cashier charged me full price for 13.49 plus tax. When I said that there is a sign for &10.99, she said go take a picture & show me in a very rude manner. I took the picture & came back to show her. When she saw my picture, she knocked off $2.00 & charged me $11.49. When I asked her why she charged me $11.49 & not $10.99, she started yelling at me. As she's yelling at me trying to explain the cost by reading the receipt, she realized she was wrong. I asked her why she was yelling at me & she didn't say anything. I asked her to completely refund me & charge me the sale price which she did. Very unprofessional & rude service. Tha cashiers name was Maria. I called the store & spoke to a manager about this & she did apologize & offer me a $25 gift card which I accepted. The manager was very sweet & kind. Review for Smart & Final Delivery via their app. This hurts to write as I love my local Smart & Final. However, last Sunday we placed an online order and it's been a disaster. For starters, my drive Justine (at least that's what the notifications said) came to the door smelling like weed and wasn't the friendliest guy I've ever met. No biggie just an observation. I signed for the white claws and while I was putting the bags in the kitchen I went back to grab the rest of my items and he was driving away. I'm rather certain he saw me but still drove away. So I ran inside and sent him a text. As you can see from the image I sent it prior to him closing out the ticket. At this point, I'm feeling like I've been scammed. Justine, while could be a guys name, I thought would be a Woman and then I didn't get my items. So I called the c/s department right away and was told to wait until Tuesday by Sam and he'd contact me. Of course, Tuesday came and went with no update. I called the following day and spoke to a Sara. She said Sam can help me and I found that unacceptable so I made her listen to my issue again. I shared the recipe that was left in the bag, a copy of the finalized receipt that was sent on Monday. A screenshot showing I reached out immediately as well as an image from my ring camera showing Justine only carrying 3 bags to my door. Sara assured me she'd handle it after I read item by item what I didn't receive as well as refunding the delivery fee. She said it would be completed within 24hours. Of course that didn't happen and two days later I called back again. Sara said the investigation was done and they refunded me $58. Even though when we went item by item the total was $68 plus tax, NOT including the $10 service fee. End result is I got to pay $10 to have someone keep a portion of my order. Had to go to the store myself to get the stolen items. Have wasted over 4 hours on hold to receive poor customer service. NEVER AGAIN!!! read more

Cashier was rude. Don't know if she was having a bad day or flustered but no reason to be accusatory towards one customer ahead of me, rude to another who was just asking a simple question and to me when I held out my phone for her to scan the app for the digi coupon. I had it as the first thing to scan and she ignored it, hit the total without even scanning. She looked at my phone and asked in a sharp unfriendly tone, "What's that for?" Informed her it was for said product with a digi coupon. She goes on to tell me said product isn't a digi coupon item but obliges by scanning my app. It scans as a digi coupon item. She offered no apology for her error. I get and understand the stresses that come with the job but still no reason to take it out onto innocent customers. Better friendly customer interaction and training needed for this cashier. She needs to learn to taste her words before she spits them out. Pretty good store. They don't have self check out however so you do have to go through the human check out line. The line has a tall plexiglass now for covid protection which is good. Also their advertised prices are pretty good but alot of the items ring up incorrectly lately. You tend to get overcharged. Overall thankful to all the staff for keeping our essential stores open and going. It's a tough time so very appreciative to them. read more

So I live near Smart & Final in Fremont, go there alot but I don't really like it all that much (won't go into all that) Anyhoo... This is a very clean, newish store. The customer service is sooooo much better than Fremont's. It is well stocked. The produce dept is well managed and it shows! We have shopped here a few times... Never seen a fight between cashiers, or a robbery (don't ask...) The employees here seem nice, helpful and polite... Dare I say happy to help you?!! So when I'm in the neighborhood I will pick up some of my groceries here. read more

Pleasant store, with excellent prices on some items. I had not been to the store for years so I decided to give it a try. It reminds me a little bit like a cross between Walmart and Sprouts. It's a very wide open, brightly-lit store, which made for a pleasant shopping experience. For the items that I purchased, somewhere close to Walmart's price, but others were not as good. For example, I'd like to buy a breakfast burrito. Here it was $1.29. At Walmart it is $1 exactly. For yogurts, which I purchase a lot, the prices were comparable. The price tags, besides showing the actual price, list a "compare at" price. I did not find those numbers credible. For example, for Greek Greek yogurt, the compare at price was higher than what I actually see it other stores. For popular soda 12 packs, the price here is far more than what it is frequently on sale at at Target. So I would recommend waiting for the sale at Target. When the lines got long today, the store service manager came out to do the checking. Well that's a good sign! Perhaps the only negative experience is that the organic fruits we're more conveniently located then the regular fruit. Well, I am sure this is not an accident, because they clearly want you to buy the higher-priced organic Friday. But less convenient for me. read more

Had bad experience with cashiers two days in row with different cashier Lady. The first day, I wore my mask and coughed during the check out and she was telling me to cover my mouth. I was like "hello I am wearing my mask and what are you expecting, I give respect to everyone and I wear mask in public place no matter what. She could tell me if I wasn't wearing my masks. On top of that she is far away from me and the next person behind me was also far away and they were even surprised she said. She knows I am Asian and she is discriminating against me if I were other race, I don't think she has a Gust to tell. Very disappointed. Second day another cashier with attitude and seem like she doesn't like her job. I understand there is long line and that's your issue and not mine. She can't take those on customers. This is after I very specifically pointed out the expired canned goods last week to an employee who said they would remove them and notify a manager. I'm sorry to say I was not surprised. There is no need to ask me to contact someone via email to discuss this further as you did in your response to last weeks review. I recognize this as a ploy to show the public you are very concerned and wish to address this immediately. These replies are usually to a remote individual or service. Won't be shopping here anymore. Last week a man was in the store harassing customers and he singled me out. I am a nice person, so I briefly conversed with him before refusing to give him my # and telling him I am happily married. He walked off harassing other customers. Management did nothing until an elderly wo.an complained. When the manager asked him to leave, he came straight to me ( I was in line near the exit) and accused me of snitching on him. I told him I did not. He hu g around front of the store until I was ready to go to my car. I came here to pick up some snacks for my daughter since she gets hungry on the road sometimes. She doesn't eat much but tends to be hungry and thirsty. I walked in and grabbed a basket. I went directly to the snack aisle. I saw the Kool aid boxes on sale. It was two for $4.00. I got cherry and fruit punch flavor. My daughter also likes Goldfish to snack on. It was also two for $4.00. The last item I got was Sour patch candy which was $1.45. I paid $9.50 for all that. Not a bad deal. I definitely found lots of deals here but I picked up the basics for my daughter. The inside was clean and organized. The cashier was friendly. Everything was easy to find. I would come back if I ever need any last minute items on my trip. read more

I really enjoy this place as a quick go-to for groceries and staples during and after work. I work down the street and find this to be a convenient location to pick up items for dinner (or the work potluck I may have forgotten to prepare for). The people that work here are pretty friendly and willing to help me find things when I have trouble. Sometimes they do not have enough checkers which leads to some slowness but they try to rectify this problem as soon as they can. The only item I have popped in and not been able to find is gift wrap so I would say they are doing pretty well in terms of selection. They are catering towards businesses so most items are packaged in serving sizes for that crowd. If you have the patients to separate and freeze things for a small household you will pleasantly surprised with the savings you can find. One Pro- I feel like they sell spaghetti squash much longer throughout the year than grocery stores! read more

When I went to check out they rang up for twice as what the price tag stated so I informed the cashier. After walking back to show her she stated "people move things all of the time" which at this point idc, not my problem because I surely didn't move them so I asked to speak to a manager.
